Our experience with BluePearl Veterinary Hospital in Duluth was one of the most heartbreaking…read moreexperiences we've ever had as pet owners. We drove three hours after calling ahead and being told to bring our dog in. She had suddenly lost the use of her hind legs and was crying in pain. The veterinary assistants were compassionate, caring, and treated her with dignity. They deserve our sincere thanks. We waited patiently for over two and a half hours, understanding that emergency hospitals must triage patients. Then a veterinary technician--not a veterinarian--told us they would not be able to see our dog. I pleaded for one thing: if they couldn't treat her, could a veterinarian at least provide enough pain medication to ease her suffering until we could find help elsewhere? The answer was simply no. So we picked up our helpless dog and drove another three hours home while she whimpered and cried in pain the entire way. No family should have to watch an animal they love suffer like that after being told to come in for care. Emergency medicine isn't just about saving lives--it's about relieving suffering. In our case, compassion seemed to end at the front desk. We left feeling abandoned, heartbroken, and utterly disgusted.

In the end I actually got lots of practical advice as well as the needed medical care. All the staff I met were super kind to both me and my pup.

Took my cat there for a dislocated leg, and they kept charging me every time they recommended a test or x-ray. so, at the one visit, they charged my card 4 separate times. Never in my life have I experienced this at any place, vet or otherwise. The tech was great, but the vet never even touched my cat or her leg to see what was wrong! This clinic needs to be reported because this is some shady stuff. We went to a different clinic and that vet said her leg could have been saved had they done the right steps to fix it. Waters Edge just farted around the whole time and didn't do anything to help my cat. She had to have her leg amputated because the window had closed for her leg to be fixed. I will never EVER recommend this clinic to anyone! Do NOT go here! They are all about money and not about helping your pet. I would have never gone here had it not been an emergency, but now I know not to, and I warn anyone about taking their pets here. Just read the reviews! They are completely incompetent and negligent and should be closed!!

The first red flag should have been the credit card machine sitting amongst the garish decorations of the exam room. We were charged before the doctor even came into the room, charged prior to each part of the exam performed, and made to believe that our beloved pet's situation was life or death if he did not have surgery performed. Luckily, the doctor was unable to actually perform said surgery. Even luckier; they neglected to actually set us up with a referral for the surgeon come Monday. I should mention that not only did Dr Pop not handle our pet in the room, she actually flinched away from him when we were trying to get him onto the scale for her and her assistant. Our little guy was perking up by Sunday anyways. On Tuesday, we made the long drive down to our former vet's office for a second opinion. The doctor there did not see any of the issues that Dr Pop claimed our boy was suffering from. She was also appalled that we were charged prior to every service, especially as there is never any guarantee that an animal would even allow something like an X-ray to be done. If you love your pets, steer clear of Waters Edge. They will try to take you for everything you have, and then try to take you for more after scaring you with a bs terminal diagnosis. Today is Wednesday and our pet is eating well, using the bathroom as normal, happy and healthy and it's all no thanks to this awful place. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Do not recommend. Very disappointed with my experience at Northland Spay/neuter. I brought my…read morekitten in to be spayed and microchipped. The day i dropped her off I asked if she would need a cone for after surgery and I was told "no" and that was all. Went to get my kitten the next day and they forgot to microchip her while she was under for surgery. They microchipped her right then and while I was waiting I could hear my kitten SCREAMING while they microchipped her. My regular vet said they only microchip while the cat is out for surgery because it is a large needle and very uncomfortable. As if my kitten wasn't already in pain and scared from surgery but then they did that to her. then they told me the screaming was from trying to get her out of the kennel, she hates her kennel and comes out immediately after the door is open so I found that very hard to believe. Once I got my kitten home I immediately noticed that she was covered in poop and pee. Her kennel was not wet or smelly so they had to have put her in her carrier seeing that she was soaked in her own feces. My kitten also starting licking her incision within a few minutes of being home, so she definitely should have had a cone even though they told me she would not need one when I dropped her off. I had to bring her into my regular vet, within 2 hours of being home, for emergency care where she received an antibiotic shot and a cone!! They also cleaned up her rear a little more because I could not get it all when I was home with her. Northland spay/neuter does offer a free check up for the animals they see but I definitely will not be bringing my kitten back to that place. I would rather pay $60 at my regular vet for her to check up and then I know a good job all be done. Thank you if you've read this far. I know a lot of people are happy with their experience here and maybe I just am an unlucky person but I think that the experience I had was absolutely unacceptable. I hope no one ever has to hear their kitten scream in pain for for something that easily could have been avoided. That could have been pain free if it were not for the carelessness/forgetfulness of the staff.

He is a golden retriever for God sakes, and has never attempted to bite anyone or any other animal in his life, however, somehow, Petco managed to make him do it. So they claim.

Beta fish in cups dead and dying in gross water. Saltwater tanks were horrifying, the ones you could see in anyway. Freshwater tanks gross. Dead fish and snails everywhere. The employees wandering around like they have nothing to do and they sure aren't checking out or helping customers. I will shop here again and I will report them to everyone I can think of. This store needs to be shut down immediately. They do not care about any of the animals or fish in their care. Words cannot describe how awful this store is.
