First, I want to acknowledge that I'm the author of a very positive review on Blue Pearl-Queens' Facebook page and stand by it 100%. However, I recently lost my 12-year-old lab to heart disease and there was a major problem that transpired because of the hospital. My intention with this note is to advise both potential consumers and the company's management, with the hope the latter will correct the issue. By the company's own account, it affects all of their New York City locations. Earlier this month, I admitted my dog to Blue Pearl/Forest Hills. It was quickly apparent he needed an echocardiogram. The cardiologist employed by this company was on vacation or otherwise unavailable. I was told it would be eight days before that person could perform an echo on my dog. I also was told by Blue Pearl that this one cardiologist covers all of their locations. Eight days. This is an institution that -- in my opinion, fairly -- charges a premium for emergency care and asks for payment upfront before you talk to a doctor. They bill themselves as a full-service animal hospital. If you can't perform an echocardiogram for eight days, you're ... not. How on earth a place the size and scale of Blue Pearl allowed their one cardiologist to be unavailable, without arranging for a backup, is a question with no answer. During my dog's final illness, I was completely satisfied with the emergency care provided by the doctors here, particularly Dr. Iacovetta, who was calm, compassionate and clearly in command of a rapidly unfolding and confusing medical event. We complained to her about the unavailability of a cardiologist. She recognized the problem -- it wasn't of her making -- and went to swift measures to solve it. Within 24 hours, we were able to get the echo at Animal Medical Center. But it meant us having to transport an extremely ill animal there, on what would be the last morning of his life. I certainly don't blame Blue Pearl for not resolving my pet's illness; it was far along before he was admitted. But this particular bit of managerial stupidity and incompetence, I will never forget. And anyone considering bringing a pet here owes it to that pet to inquire about this institution's staffing before allowing them to start billing you. My lab had cruciate ligament surgery at this location 2 years ago and it was a wholly positive experience. I could not say enough great things about Dr. Mark Levy, who performed it. For that matter, again, I couldn't say enough positive things about Dr. Iacovetta and her on-site colleagues. The bean counters at Blue Pearl left her with a difficult problem, and she succeeded in making the best of a bad situation by getting us an appointment in Manhattan in a timely fashion. That never should have been necessary, and it was most certainly a cruel thing to subject my dying pet to New York City traffic for hours because Blue Pearl left a vital position unfilled for an astoundingly long period of time. read more

Stay away! If you care about your pet please read everything and don't skip 1 part of this review. This is 100% truth. This place needs to be shut down immediately. Someone needs to report all the money hungry, lying, unqualified vets that shouldn't been given the right to even be a vet and the useless, ridiculous lying front desk people. I only came here in an emergency and they are absolutely disgusting. I'll tell you exactly why.... and after seeing the reviews and recent lawsuits online...it all makes sense. Initially my dog fell and had a seizure. My regular vet said to go there right away cuz they were close by and my pup needed fluids right away. I walk in and they tell me overnight is between $3000-5 grand.! Just for fluids, monitoring and a couple possible tests (i already did the bloodwork, xrays and even put a catheter at my own vet a half hour before so they didn't need crazy tests) My own human hospital doesn't even charge that much! They push for overnight like scumbags over and over. I only asked for 5 hours of fluids and monitoring just to see progress and the doctor said... you should do overnight, nothing will change in 5 hours (Saying it as fact as if she was god... not even doing 1 thing yet with him) when I just told her this happened before and he did see improvement in a few hours. My VET had already called to prep them and told me to rush over there so he could get fluids IMMEDIATELY. I said 5K FOR 1 NIGHT IS unreasonable and I would just go to the westbury 24 hour vet instead for overnight which is much much less. I kindly asked to give me the quote for the few hours. She said she would come right back with the quote. 25 MINUTES LATER she comes back with NO quote! Instead she tries to convince me to do overnight there again! I find out a FULL HOUR AFTER THEY DIDN'T GET HIM ON FLUIDS YET because they were busy pushing me to agree sign for overnight first! She continued by saying he could have a brain tumor, or neurological disorder or it could just be had trauma or a few other things. I came back after 4.5 hours to see his progress and she tells me again that he should stay overnight because not much improvement. I tell her NO I'm taking him to westbury. She leaves and comes back and says!!...oh well I want to be honest.. he's not doing well and you NEED TO FACE THE REALITY. Basically trying to make me kill him within only 4.5 hours of being there so they can get more paid. His vitals and organs were functional! SO WHY did she tell me to kill him when she literally told me 15 minutes before that he should stay overnight!!? Sick nonsense. She must have thought I was lacking common sense and a brain... and would actually fall for her tactics. If you think you can't help him then why would you PUSH ME JUST 15 minutes before to pay 5k for you to watch him all night!?!! They also had the lying nerve and said if I don't pay right away.. my bill goes to collections at midnight. I said OK PUT IT in collections then. Then the front desk woman who just told me it goes to collections then says..well I can't put it in collections because it requires paperwork!! SO WHY DID U JUST TELL ME that it will go into collections at midnight automatically!!?? Honestly I am In pure DISBELIEF AND APPALLED at this horrible place. They do not care about you or your pet. Also they're toxic miserable people. I never felt this type of negative money hungry aura at any vet before in my life and I've been to a lot of different vets for multiple animals. They think they can push people around. They think they can scare people to pay money and play on emotions when their astronomical charges are unheard of! Its literally JAW dropping! And because I didn't want to stay overnight.. and told them I'm taking him to westbury now.. They tell me to kill him so they can make money on that instead! I am sure some people have had a good experience but mine was bad and when it comes to care for your beloved animal then 1 bad experience is all it takes. Walked in for 2 issues and the vet (a man wont say names) made us feel uncomfortable and not confident on his ability to diagnose the issue. Instead he rubbed his hands over the dog and introduced me with a 1500 bill and still no actual resolution or even SUGGESTION on a resolution. I said no and walked out. After much consideration, I want to share my experience I had today with Blue Pearl Veterinary. It's going to be long winded....and I am going to try and write this as honestly as possible, and with as little bias as I can, since of course it relates to my dog, and I love him so much. My goal is simply to share an account of my experience and have you draw your own opinions. I know many people recommend Blue Pearl, have used them, had amazing results, and I don't discount their care or ability to look after pets with special needs. I've been seeking out a solution for my dogs stenotic nare, and soft palette surgery. After many recommendations to Blue Pearl, as well as my dogs primary vets recommendation, I decided to schedule his pre-op exam/consultation there. The consultation fee was $197.00. I arrive for my appointment, and was taken on time. We were brought into a room, and told someone will be in shortly. The vet tech arrived, asked me some simple intake questions, and told me she was taking dog to get his vitals done and to see the doctor in the back--I should wait in the room. Immediately I stopped her, and said, I'd prefer to meet the doctor first, prior to any exam. She seemed perplexed, but obliged and began to take his pulse and temperature. She then said, Dr. Levy will be in shortly. Dr. Levy enters the room with an intern, and before saying hello, he looks at my dog and says, please take the dog off the table, he then introduced himself and the intern. He proceeds to tell me he doesn't like dogs on the table in case they jump. My dog remained on the floor the entire remainder of our visit. He never looked at, or touched him once..... for that reason alone, I feel as though I was not given the proper consultation and should be refunded my $197.00 Dr. Levy then turns to the intern who is crouched on the floor with my dog and says, "Did you check his heart" the intern replies, "it's good". The remainder of the 20 minute or so was conversation between Dr. Levy and I. We volleyed back and forth with questions and answers and I could tell he knew I'd done my research, and that he needed to switch gears to trying to gain my acceptance of his ability as a veterinarian. Switching gears again, I asked a question about healthy paws pet insurance and how Blue Pearl deals with direct payments, as healthy paws has already pre-authorized his surgery. He told me he was going to send in a manager, to go over that and she will give me the pre-surgical estimate, and that he was going to take Rico back now for the tech to check his vitals--I tell him she already has... he replies, "ok then we're done, I'll send in the manager" and he leaves the room. The manager arrives in the room with an estimate totaling $7,016.21, and proceeds to tell me verbatim, "We prefer direct payment from you, because healthy paws is hard to get in touch with". I thank her very much, proceed to the desk and pay my consultation fee. Within minutes of me leaving the office, my phone rings... it's healthy paws, letting me know they've received Blue Pearls request for authorization and they've approved them for direct payment. Now to me, if I take myself out of this situation, and look at it as a whole, I can't think of anything motivating Blue Pearl, other than money. In conclusion, I've decided Blue Pearl, does not have Rico's best interest at heart, and I will be following up with Dr. Sane at Greenwich Village Animal Hospital. I truly hope that Paul Miranda who responds to all the other reviews I've seen posted here, takes the time to read this review, and truly understand that this is not an exaggeration of the truth, and is based solely on fact. This is one of the hardest reviews I have ever written, but I need to spread the word about this amazing emergency veterinary. Unfortunately, after celebrating Christmas Eve with my family, I got home to finding my beautiful cat under the couch. At the time, he seemed stuck under/in the couch. I immediately tried to remove him and called this emergency vet to see if they were open. I spoke to a very nice man over the phone who was calm and helped walk me through what to do. I then rushed him over there and was met by the vet Heidi and Dr. Chou (unsure of spelling). They treated Tito (my cat) and me with gentleness, love and support. They immediately gave me a few options regarding his urgent care. They also kept me up to date on his progress and status. They took time and care into learning about Tito and his history. Heidi and Dr. Chou were extremely sympathetic and went over all of my options. They were extremely honest and explained what they could do for him. They were extremely patient, genuine and truly cared about my well-being as well as my cat, Tito. They gave me space with my family and allowed me to take as much time as needed to make the decision that was best for me. My dog received the most wonderful care at BluePearl in Queens from the front staff, to the vet assistants, to the wonderful internist. This is the best care my 13 year old dog has received since my primary care vet in Manhattan closed his practice and relocated 7 years ago and without a doubt this is the best care she has ever received at an emergency/specialty hospital. read more

This is probably the biggest scam of a vet's office I've encountered. The "best" technology and no way to get access to it unless you pay in full. No payment plans, nothing available. The vet examined my dog and told me to say "Hail mary's" tp save her. I paid with my carecredit and they chose to say I did not pay and I walked out. Wow. Really? Staff super nice. Vet seemed knowledgeable. My dog went in for an eye injury and had to be sedated for stitches. It only took a few hours, which is expected. There were some minor injuries that were not reported on my dog when I examined her myself back home. My partner says this is typical of most vets. No harm done. Unfortunately my visit to BluePearl was not for good reasons (it ended in saying goodbye), the facilities are great. When my cat was sick on a Monday evening and it was clear we couldn't wait until the morning, we were referred to BluePearl. From the moment I called they were warm and professional. I walked in with her wrapped in a towel and I was ushered into an examining room where we were seen immediately and was taken into triage and given oxygen. The entire staff was warm and helpful. Dr. Jeremy Kimmelstiel thoroughly walked us what was going on and helped us make the best decision for our little girl. After a long and happy life of 15 years, I unfortunately had to say goodbye to my beloved dog, Jojo. The staff and doctors at Blue Pearl were so comforting during this incredibly difficult time, showing nothing but care and love. They had just met him 5 minutes prior, but treated him as if he was their own. Blue pearl saved our puppies life and we cannot thank them enough. During an evening walk we were viciously attacked by a large dog. We drove straight to blue pearl devastated and not sure if our poor pup would make it. The overnight team rushed us to the operating table and we have so much gratitude to everyone there that chipped in to save our puppies life. I visited this animal hospital twice in the last 8 years. Both times the service was prompt, detailed and the doctors and nurses who attended to my baby boy Beau were caring and compassionate. My little chihuahua suffered from CHF and was taken from us a little less than two weeks ago. One of the most devastating times for me and the doctor (i forgot her name she was blonde) and nurse (dark hair and she also has a Chi) at Blue Pearl were patient and sympathetic. They put me in a quite room with my pup to spend some time with him after he passed and I never felt rushed nor did I feel as though they were immune to what I was feeling. Our two-year old cat had an emergency this morning and got referred to BluePearl in Queens. It was a Saturday morning when nearly nothing was open. BluePearl was our only hope and they saved our cat. Because of COVID, we were not allowed to enter the hospital. Nonetheless, the staffs and nurses talked to us patiently and frequently right from the beginning. Dr. Cilli was very professional, transparent and caring by explaining every detail on the phone, while also giving us reasonable expectation about the timeline of surgery. I am so grateful that there were doctors available to perform endoscopy surgery on Saturday during the pandemic. What can you do on a Sunday when your beloved pet is lethargic and sick and it's five pm??? Go to Blue Pearl. The vet here was so gentle and loving and sweet I left there feeling much better. Considering it was an emergency, the price was not too bad either. I highly recommend it if your pet is sick on off hours from their normal vet. Worst experience I have ever had in the vet. Worst pet service. My dog was literally shaking with the abdominal pain she had. I told them she wasn't eating or drinking in days she wasn't urinating or putting out stool and still they kept pushing her wait time back more and more because other animals were coming in. I went to another vet come to find out my dog has a heart murmur and could have a tumor or an intestinal life threatening infection which BLUEPEARL did absolutely nothing for. The doctor who we spoke to told us they'd run a Toxoplasma blood test to rule out a specific neuro disease. Obviously we were charged for my first unborn child's arm and leg because this place is expensive af. But we just wanted our girl to be okay and get the help she needed. We were told the results would be back in 2 days. 2 days later I called and was told the results were in but no doctor was available to speak at the moment but would contact me as soon as they could. My Vet office then called about 10 minutes after I had just called, they wanted to get a copy of her results and they were told the results weren't back yet. Not sure how they screwed that up. Today is September 27th and we have yet to hear back on my cats results. You guys truly suck. Your front desk staff doesn't know how to communicate correctly. Not to mention, your doctor was out of line, she walked in and I was half asleep on a chair waiting for updates because it was midnight and my boyfriend was holding a vape pen because he was about to step outside to smoke. She spoke to us with this weird look on her face and I kept wondering why, until she finally just asked, if we smoked marijuana in our house hold. No we don't. You're insensitive. And I don't think you actually care about your patients. You were way more interested in having me pay over $3000 to have her stay over night. Because it was Sunday and because this was an adoption through the ASPCA I was told to come here. My kitten stopped eating 3 days after being spayed. I must admit that I was scared from previous horrible reviews, but happy to say the experience and care was very good. I was warned by the ASPCA that if my visit wasn't assessed as an emergency the wait could be 3-4 hours. I was immediately put in a private room. The vet tech took my information and gave the kitten a quick look over. We were not deemed an emergency. True to form they took my kitten to the back 3-1/2 hours after my arrival. 20 minutes later I met Dr. LaPorte. She couldn't have been any sweeter or kinder and certainly not an alarmist. It's been 3 weeks since I lost my little girl, Princess. It's been the most devastating days of my life. I would have never thought this process would be as difficult as it's been for me and my family. On February 3rd I walked into Blue Pearl desperate and dreading to make one of the decisions I never wanted to make. As soon as I walked in, I was instantly introduced to Dr. Jeremy Kimmelstiel. He was so polite and sympathetic. He was informative with the smallest detail and information regarding my princess. This was by far the worse day of my life. I had to make a decision that I selfishly wish I can take back, only because I am missing a part of me I could never get back. Fast forward 3 weeks, I received princess' ashes and her paw print clay. I was informed that this was done by Blue Pearl. I knew right away Dr. Kimmelstiel was the one who took the initiative to do this. He saw how devastating it was to put princess down. My entire family was in the room sobbing with our hearts shattered into pieces. He allowed us to have a private room and gave us all the time we needed. We never felt rushed or uncomfortable. I had mixed feelings about getting Princess back today, I didn't know if it would make the process even harder or alleviate the pain. I've been to Blue pearl numerous times. I had a cat that passed away a few years ago, he was treated by Dr Lachowitz Who was amazing. All of the staff was great and treated him like a prince until the last day. I had a another cat, his cancer was found too late. I had to bring him to Blue Pearl a few months ago in the middle of the night because he wouldn't go to the bathroom and was crying. I was worried and they were not very compassionate really . I was trying to find out what the options were, I asked the doc if there was anything else to do other than an enema and the ER doc said "well what do you recommend that we do" in a snappy way. The vet tech asked if I wanted to wait to go to my local vet because x-ray and services are very expensive there. I said money isn't the issue, the health of my cat is and I would've be here at 2Am if it wasn't urgent. The cat got the XR and enema and we left a few hours later. Since they are an ER I would probably go back if I HAD to, but would prob try and wait to go to my local vet. Just need emotional support & thorough explanations and I don't think that an ER is the place to get it. I would definitely go back for specialty treatments though. The oncologist was great. I also had radioiodone treatment for my kitty and it worked great. Unfortunately He was put down the week after the trip to the ER. His quality of life went down quick and he couldn't stand much.Even though I didn't have the best experience at my last visit I do trust that they care about the animals health there and that really is all that you can ask for right? read more

I have had too many bad vet experiences to count, and get very nervous when I have to bring my cat in anywhere. Recently, my Bindi has been giving me a run for my money, and I have been going to the vet more often that I would like, and each time has been hard on me emotionally and financially. When Bindi began to experience frequent, strained, and unsuccessful urination (with some blood), I found myself in an emergency. My primary vet had no openings for over a week, and my secondary vet was not answering the phone. At the recommendation of my primary doctor, I brought Bindi to BluePearl in Forest Hills. I was again worried by the 3 star review, but found some of the comments to be useful - $148 entrance fee. I was SO happy with the service. Bindi was escorted straight into a room. As I filled out some forms, they rushed her into the back of the hospital to make sure she was not obstructed (this is a life threatening condition!). When the vet finally came in to talk to us (Dr. Angel), I felt so at ease. She asked me about Bindi's history, and listened to every single detail. She was caring and compassionate, and had a smile on her face. She explained her diagnosis very lucidly, and told us what we needed to know for next steps. She did not perform any tests or prescribe any medication until explaining them to us, therefore, there were no surprises on the bill. At the end of the visit, I gladly exclaimed to the man at the front desk how happy I was with their service. The next day, I received a very thorough exit form with Bindi's vitals, a description of her symptoms and diagnosis, and next steps. In total, the bill came to about $220 - entrance fee and cost of pain medication. Bindi was diagnosed with FLUTD, most likely caused by stress (I had just been away for two nights on vacation - my first three days away from her in her 2 year old life). Thank you Dr. Angel and everyone who helped me and Bindi. If only you guys were a primary veterinary office and not an ER! I would have no qualms coming back :) read more

I spent $600-$1500 every week in this place just try to make my cat live longer, I never thought that this could kill my cat. I thought I only have two option for my cat, receive treatment, may cost me a lot of money, as long as my cat could live longer, or just let it be, but leave my cat maybe only half year of survival time, I never thought there could be third option, the worst one,receive treatment, put my cat in pain, shorter life and my cat died painfully. If I can go back, I definitely will reconsidered, maybe my cat could be still living by now. Treatment is just another way to kill your cat, I deeply regret of putting my cat into this. read more

We'll never go back here. When we walked in, we were told since our dog had a muzzle, she had to go to another room. Our dog has never had an issue with another dog and we're responsible owners, but we were not given the chance to explain. After that, we waited for 45 minutes, despite being there early for our appointment. The vet, Dr. Levy came and took our dog, ran some tests, and came back out with an estimate for what tests he wants to run again tomorrow, didn't explain much, just said what he wanted to do and went back.. His estimate was the low cost of $2,000, but it could be up to $3,000. We thought expensive, but what can we do. Then he charged us $600 for what other vets have done for us for $300. But we figured he's a specialist. We decided to get a second opinion, as we had never been to Blue Pearl, it was just recommended by our normal vet. When we got our second opinion, they told us the estimates that Blue Pearl provided were ridiculous, there were many things on there that were unnecessary, they were overcharging for many things, and that they would never recommend Blue Pearl & tell that to their patients. We took our dog to that specialist that gave us the second opinion today, and they ran all of the necessary tests & gave us a plan for how to address the issue with our dog. It cost $1,400, compared to Blue Pearl's $2,000 - $3,000 estimate. We will not go back. read more

I bought my cat here for an emergency. They were not our normal vets, but from the moment I walked in they were much nicer than our normal vet. They showed they cared. Unfortunately we had to put our cat to sleep and they were very caring while we did. They had a nice room for us to sit in with our cat to say our goodbyes and had her on a nice cat bed. I live pretty far away, but when I get a new cat seriously thinking of bringing them here because of how great they were. read more

When we decided to go to BluePearl Pet Hospital the biggest negative reviews we read were based on the cost of procedures.  We're incredibly thankful to have pet insurance for our dog where it isn't a factor for us so we decided to go.  Our dog was experiencing significant coughing issues so based on their recommendation we underwent the "Cadillac" of procedures to rule out any and all issues that might be of cause for concern.  The price tag for this: $6,000 While the procedure ruled out any significant issues, it did not result in any meaningful diagnosis of his condition. We spent the next 3-4 months testing out different medications to attempt to resolve the issue - none of which the doctor appeared to have any confidence in so we were throwing darts at a wall, testing the various medications.  We were supposed to report back these results every 3-4 weeks back to the doctor to reanalyze and come up with next steps based on those results. The process though in this was utterly shameful.  We would have to call Blue Pearl 5-6 times to try and get through to the doctor so we could discuss next steps.  Each and every time the doctor was too busy with other procedures and they said they would have to call back.  Each and every time this sounded reasonable but ultimately we wouldn't receive a call and would have to call back the next day.  This process dragged on for 2 weeks in every step of the juncture, dragging on the treatment for months.  When we did receive a call back, it wouldn't be from the doctor but it would be from a "technician" with the doctors next steps written out even though our request was to speak with the doctor because we had specific follow up questions that their technicians were never able to answer on the spot. We decided to take our dog to get a second opinion elsewhere because it's been over 4 months since the procedure and we still haven't received a diagnosis. We did receive one phone call from a "technician" today regarding their new policy stating that every phone consultation will now result in a $115 dollar charge - after the thousands of dollars we already paid them. This is not how you treat patients. If you love your animals as much as we love our furball, money isn't really the issue.  It's how you're treated in the process. read more

So I have been to this vet before COVID and was always impressed by the care taken with my pet and the attention they paid to my concerns. This time however it took two tries to get a proper diagnosis. As a fellow healthcare professional I understand it's easy to get locked into a diagnosis, and it's especially difficult with neurology concerns, but the vet did dismiss the concern we had about our dog's front paw not being right. In the end time to treatment was delayed. That being said the second vet was brilliant, took a thorough H&P, went thru every possibility and even correctly identified the lack of proprioception in his paw. I am grateful for that vet for listening and am happy I advocated for my pet. read more

Today is my birthday and the best gift I have ever received was being able to celebrate my yorkiepoo, Armani's 5th birthday on 3/11. In the beginning of December, Armani was hospitalized with Leptospirosis, a progressive bacterial infection that affects the kidneys and liver, and he was in really bad shape. He was yellow like a banana and he couldn't urinate. Dr. Tse and Dr. Iacovetta essentially changed history and Armani was able to beat the odds. Even the practice manager, Steve, patiently went over the bill with me line by line and addressed all of my questions and concerns after Armani was discharged. Armani is not just a pet but a member of my family and I made sure that he received the best care possible at Blue Pearl. read more

One of the worst experiences with a EMERGENCY Vet I have ever had. The nurse came out and took my cat and told me they would let me know in a half hour how long it would be. I sat here for an hour now and no call. So I called in and the woman at the front desk was so rude an told me I can go elsewhere and my pet hasn't even been seen yet. ASPCA poison control hotline told me to get to a vet as soon as possible and they said my pet seemed fine so they pushed her off even though they told me it was very time sensitive. The woman at the front desk needs fired she was unprofessional, rude and neglected to take any of the blame for the poor communication. If you don't like your job then get a different one. I understand all of the poor reviews now. They know they are one of the only facilities open at this time so they know they can take advantage. Sad excuse for a business that supposedly cares about pets. read more

I brought my dog here about a week ago to see dog dermatologist Judith seltzer. He's had severe skin allergies since a puppy, but has become worse with infections in recent years now in his older age. The assistant was very sweet and took her time to get all the details of his condition and past.... But then told me I needed to sign to pay over 700$ before the vet even saw my dog. I agreed because a dog dermo seemed to be the last option to try to help his skin allergies. Then she asked if the vet can take him to the back without me for the examination and I said no I don't feel comfortable and he's very stressed and nervous without me. Dr seltzer came in and stuck some scotch tape on his hives and paws and looked inside his ears. Told me it was a bacterial infection and I needed to have a culture done for more money even tho I showed her results from one a year ago. I told her there's no way I can afford this and I've already paid for these tests and other vets haven't helped him so that's why I waited over a month to see a "specialist". She said she would be right back with her med recommendations and plan on how to help him... she did not. She sent her assistant back into the room with a 3k bill for antibiotics and steroids. I said no way and if I can purchase the meds on chewy. She said yes. The script has not been approved for over 3 days and when I called chewy they were so nice and said that they have called and emailed and have had no answer. She did not have common manners or decency to even say goodbye it was nice to meet you and your pet and hope he's well or anything. Big red flag when you have to agree to pay over 700$ before the vet even speaks to you and then wants to take your pet away from you just to stick some tape on his paws. Super disappointing and feel like I was robbed. I would never recommend anyone to go here and I hate to write horrible reviews but this was a horrible experience and my dog was not helped and not given any meds. read more

I appreciate that you're willing to speak to me about the services/experience I "received" from your establishment but I'm a little confused as to who you are and how your statements have any validity to the situation. 75% of your comment is a regurgitation of Veterinarian's Oath; so yes, I'm glad that you specified what every vet/staff-member of yours or elsewhere in the country has promised to do. You stated that your clinicians are "...dedicated to always being very honest and upfront about the services..." that you provide. Can you then tell me why I spoke to a vet tech four separate times about ONLY the bill? If I remember correctly, by the 4th conversation, I had specifically asked, AND I QUOTE-- "So you're telling me if I can't pay this right now..you're just going to disconnect him from the catheter?" Can you also explain why a bill is the topic of conversation when my cat is clearly in pain/suffering/on the brink of death? Can you also explain why the ratio of conversations about the bill as opposed to my pets health is vastly more important? The points made within your comment ALL fall under the umbrella that medical professionals swear upon. While everything you wrote was probably the most objective and 'right' thing to say, please don't act like you were sitting in the waiting room or even in the building when any of this happened. BluePearl is operating 24/7. Yes, of course your pricing is at a premium because of that-- totally understandable. What isn't understandable? Knowing that people come to you in need and in desperation for their loved ones, realizing that they're getting jerked around emotionally and financially and then getting comments from Steve V. pretending to care and throwing around clauses from the Vet's Oath-- as if that accounts for any type of justification. I didn't walk into BluePearl thinking that any of this was going to happen. I walked out of BluePearl knowing that I was being f***** around by a chain emergency vet group WITH my cat still attached to a catheter, driving 48 miles away to a vet who prioritizes LIFE, stability and EMPATHY over a couple thousand dollars. Like I said, while I (somewhat) appreciate your feedback, it seems like you're saying the same exact thing over and over again to anyone posting bad reviews. Some honesty about any of these situations would be a step in the right direction. I would even be happier with you saying 'Hey, we're a corporation, it's 2019 and we need to make money'. P.S. Yes, with Dr. Christine, my cat made a full recovery. Amazing what quick thinking and springing into action can do for a person or any living creature. Gosh, what a world we live in right now...the surgery, keeping him there for a week, supplying cans of prescription food, and just being a decent person..only cost about 1/4 of what you charge per day. Brought in my cat with an aural hematoma. They drained her ear and told us that she had mites and that we had to bring her elsewhere to get surgery since no one was available. We took her to our regular vet where he sent lab tests and said that she was misdiagnosed -- she didn't have mites, but she did have an ear infection. We wasted $400 at this place for them to do literally nothing but delay her treatment. read more
