I am giving 3 stars as a combination of food and service (food 4 stars and service 2.5 stars). My daughter and I went here on a Sunday close to 12pm. There was a table for 2 so we sat there. We were told to order via the QR code on the table. We ordered 2 entrees and 2 drinks. First thing we realized was all the tables were given bottle of water. There were only 2 servers running around (and they did not look too happy). After 10 minutes we had to ask for the water, and one of the server looked embarrassed that the water bottle wasn't given to us earlier). I saw some people asking for the actual paper menu, do this instead of ordering via QR code. Seems like getting the actual menu was more effective to get the server's attention. Then we saw tables who came after us getting their food. So we had to flag down the server again and ask about the food. She said it's been very busy so our food will be out soon. The drinks came out first. I got flat white, and my daughter got Coconut Expresso Cloud. The drinks must have been sitting on the bar counter for a while because what was once a foam design on my flat white was kind of dissipated. My daughter's drink which supposedly should have slight two tones got all blended together. She even had to ask the employee if this was what she ordered, and he kind of mumbled it was (I seriously think initially he was not sur The saving grace of this dining experience was the food. It was busy when we went so I can't say we had the typical experience. We were seated and after 20mins we had seen multiple people order at the bar. We went to order at the bar and another 30mins passed before our order was up. We didn't love the food, but u chose the place based on a local saying it was a solid simple choice. So I have faith it was just due to how busy they were. Later we realized we could of had our order taken when we were checked on mid_wait. Maybe have more than one server on the weekend would be a good boost to this location. Although I didn't love my experience, I wouldn't be surprised if others have better luck than us. read more

I came to Bluestone just to grab a cup of coffee and read, but I saw a server bringing out a breakfast burrito and had to indulge and find a seat in the dining area. My server found me a great corner table where I could read peacefully while I had my coffee and breakfast. The burrito itself was a little small for the price, but definitely tasty. Upon entering the cafe, it had a modern vibe with nice ambiance and some trendy tunes playing in the background and not too load. We were fairly quickly seated and provided with the menues. The service was good, and the coffee cups were generous considering I had ordered a capuccino, and sometimes the portion is small. The food was tasty and fresh. I had the waffel with lemon riccota and it was just perfect (not too sweet). My wife had the avocado plate with eggs as well as a latte. We enjoyed our meal to start the day. read more

Wanted a place to apply to jobs and enjoy a beverage but couldn't do either - there are signs everywhere that say you have to see the host to be seated but apparently that's not true? I managed to pin down someone working behind the bar and ask if there was a place to sit with an outlet nearby so i could plug my laptop in but there were none - in a coffee shop! Wild. Bluestone is a nice Australian chain great for brunch. I've come a number of times and there are good vegetarian options that I've enjoyed. The egg and cheese with aioli was a little greasy so be mindful. The vegan banana bread was absolutely delightful and would pair well with any of their drinks! read more

super cute spot in the rittenhouse area! i enjoyed our brunch overall. their coffee is good, and i enjoyed my vanilla latte. the food was decent, but not special. i ordered the BL burrito which was not bad with the help of cholula hot sauce. the meal was on the expensive side (almost $50 for two) given the smallish portions, but adequate for a simple brunch. staff was friendly and prompt, no issues with service. we did have trouble flagging down our server for the bill, and i had to go up to the front to pay. overall a solid spot! read more

The wait was ridiculous. 35 minutes to have 2 of 3 meals come out and when I asked about the third meal we were told, oh sorry, I forgot to tell you we were out of what you ordered. One of the 2 meals served, blueberry waffles were cold and so dry they were inedible. I would tell anyone to stay far away from this location. And I want to point out that I typically love Bluestone Lane. Have frequented Hoboken, NJ and Washington DC and never had such a terrible experience. I will never return to this location. What a complete waste of money. I'm actually appalled. Even when I said my food was horrible and sent it away barely touched they didn't even offer to make it right. Never go here! read more

I quite enjoyed our breakfast here. We were staying just down the street, so it was incredibly convenient. It was our server's last day (or so she told us), so the service was quite slow. I felt like we had to keep reaching out and asking to order, asking for water, asking for the check. We sat and waited for at least 25 minutes with empty plates waiting for the check. Had she been a little more attentive (or at all) this definitely would have been a 5-star experience. The breakfast food was excellent. I don't drink coffee, so I can't comment on that. Stopped here for a quick iced coffee with the family while on a walk. It's super cute inside and I loved the art work / decor. The food menu looked amazing but we only got drinks. I would totally come back to try to food because I bet it's good. My ice coffee was good and the drinks came out super fast. This was great to pop in real quick and get something but there were several people there that looked to be working or had been there awhile which is always a good sign. This place was really cute, but perhaps not my style. For starters, even though it's a coffee shop, you must wait to be seated, and there isn't much room if you have more than 4 people. The drinks were fine, and the trellis tea was perhaps the best, but the chai was lacking in flavor, the beet latte mostly tasted like malt, and the matcha latte was rather bitter. And of course, everything had typical coffee shop prices of $6-7. This was my second time at Bluestone Lane! If you're looking for a nice breakfast/coffee spot in the Rittenhouse area, this is a pretty solid place. The service was great and you have the option to order and pay through the QR code without needing to stand in line. I also really liked the ambiance and the music playing. This location is super spacious with lots of light and table/seating availability - perfect for a work session, catch-up with a friend, or a big group. I frequent Bluestone Lane in NYC , so when staying in Philly this past weekend, I decided to go here for coffee. The place was busy on a Sunday morning, so I expected to wait a bit for my decaf iced latte and my fiance's Americano. I stood there waiting more than 10 minutes before I asked about the status of my order, to which the barista says "it's coming up next." I patiently waited until a hot latte was placed in front of me. I asked the barista if that's my decaf latte, because it should be iced, not hot. She said 'honey, you didn't say Iced.' So, I retorted with, "Honey, yes I did. TWICE." She was prepared to remake it iced, to which I instructed her not to, that I would drink it hot because I didn't have the time to wait. I figured my fiance's americano was next to arrive, but that order was separated from mine somehow, so they were not yet making it. I lost my cool. Expecially, since other people had already gotten their drinks when they placed their orders AFTER mine. I really had to leave since I had an appointment and hadn't expected to wait so long. Went to the opening yesterday and I was very impressed with the experience. There were a few small quirks that were still being worked out, but the service was excellent. I would say an even better service experience than their other locations. I tried the whipped eggs and they were great. I've had the coffee at their other locations and enjoyed it, but will definitely return here soon to try this locations drinks. This is a great Bluestone location! Incredibly spacious, a very warm, welcoming staff who is attentive, and general good ambiance. I got the brekkie board and it was delicious along with a chamomile tea that they serve in an actual teapot with some honey on the side.
