Visited this place with a friend after seeing it featured in the Philadelphia Coffee Passport. It has quite a small space but comfy and the staff was super nice, especially my name twin "Mika"! I ordered a brown sugar cinnamon latte and for me it was really the star of the show, although my sandwich was also good! Happy to have tried this place and highly recommend.

Stopped here for a bathroom and found a gem. This cute cafe is surprisingly spacious and cozy. The service was quick and friendly. And my wife and SIL loved their food. I wasn't a fan of my chai but overall great experience.

Yelp suggestion did not disappoint. Such a cute cafe with friendly staff and nice merch! I had the matcha, which was definitely high-quality matcha and excellent. The Bev sandwich was so, so good: cured meat, avocado, mozzarella, micro greens and radish on multigrain or sourdough. But it takes them awhile to make. My friend ordered her drink and egg sandwich well after me and it was ready before mine.

Delightful little cafe for a small menu of breakfast, sandwiches, and coffee. A good center city go-to for getting work done. They even have a booth you can reserve to record podcasts or work on other media projects, which is very cool. I really enjoyed my breakfast skillet that included curried potatoes, eggs, bacon, and tomatoes. I also got to try the open face sandwich with lox which was also quite fresh and tasty. I'll have to come back and try the coffee drinks. I would love a bit more of an ability to customize the dishes or a larger smattering of offerings, and I also found it a bit odd I wasn't able to obtain ketchup. Otherwise, I'll be back and look forward to another trip anytime I am on this side of Broad.

This is such a nice coffee shop! The ambiance gives morning date, group, single diner, work from home coffee shop etc. They offer a lot of coffee options here with great homemade syrup options! - the brown sugar cinnamon is sooo good. My sister ordered the open faced salmon and I was worried about the pickle but the pickled was a nice touch! The cold brew was good with their homage syrup and my sister enjoyed their matcha. They have table seating outside so it's definitely dog friendly.

I had a delicious breakfast here. The staff were lovely, the food was great. And it was a nice day so we sat outside. We got the breakfast skillet and breakfast sandwich. And instead of bacon we subbed avocado. It was excellent. We also got a perfectly toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and a mouthwatering almond croissant (heated up). So good!

A hip looking café with a variety of pastries and drinks. Passion fruit pop tart - An unsuspectingly tart pop tart, but it was a good balance. Icing on top, tart passionfruit jam and buttery pastry. Good to try, but wouldn't get again. Latte - Good coffee, not exceptional, but good.

Great earlier hours as many places closer to Broad don't open till 11 AM. Refreshing healthy and flavorful smoothie for a super hot day. The kitchen and staff area is particularly small and no real privacy. I presume this place has a bathroom if I needed it but I didn't see one. Staff are friendly: Pastries are reasonably delicious with different flavors to choose from.

Lovely cafe! Great study space - ample seating (both indoor and outdoor), quiet with a nice ambiance. Highly recommend the Bev open toast sandwich - it was delicious (the melty cheese!!) and a hefty size too!

Best coffee in town!! I've been going to bower cafe since the first location opened on 10th street. It has always been a staple for me. Bower has a great variety of amazing food and the coffee is to die for!!! The service is amazing, the locations are extremely cute and cozy. If you're looking for a new coffee shop: be careful you might fall in love hehe My favorites: - Oatmilk honey cinnamon latte - Breakfast sandwich

I genuinely like the cafe for the selection of drinks, food, and pastries. They have a bunch of different stuff to pick from like sandwiches, yogurts, avocado toasts, smoothies, coffees, and croissants. Staff are really nice too. They have a bunch of seating inside and the music selection is cool too. It's usually rnb when I go. They have outdoor seating as well for the warmer months. It can get crowded in there in the mornings so beware of that. sometimes their croissants have been a bit too burnt and too hard for my liking but by that time I had already gone home with them so I had to eat it. But other than that the place is great

Bower Cafe on Walnut is a lovely addition to the neighborhood. Coffee, friendly service, and early hours? I'm down. Sit window-side and people watch, or relax in their main dining area. High ceilings, natural lighting, and artistic touches add up to a welcoming space. Bring a date, bring friends, or talk business in a corner. There's room for a light crowd, so don't be shy. Besides coffee, you can find cold drinks in the fridge - think sparkling water, draft lattes, etc. Hungry? They've got pastries and sandwiches made-to-order. Find Bower Cafe at 1213 Walnut. Credit accepted, including contactless. FYI they're currently soft opening so review details may be inaccurate.

This is a cute coffee cafe downtown. Hubby and I needed a pick me up during our city wide walk all around town. They informed us that the kitchen was closed when we got there on a Saturday early afternoon so this was a bummer.. no worries, I ordered an iced vanilla bean latte with almond milk. This was yummy. Hubby ordered a black coffee.

I went to Middle Child a few weeks ago just after 3, only to find it closes at 3. Today I returned, around 1, and there was a good crowd there having lunch. I ordered the Surfer, and the Hash Brown Potatoes. The Surfer is Middle Child's most popular sandwich. It's made on a Ciabatta bun, and has a thick layering of tender, lean, House Turkey breast, with melty Swiss cheese, arugula, blueberry chutney, and Duke's mayo. It's hard to describe just how delicious this sandwich was. My biggest concern was the Ciabatta bun - it's not one of my favorites, as I've found them to be tough and difficult to bite through. My fears were quickly put to rest after the first bite! The bun had a slightly crispy exterior - and when I followed through with my first bite, the tender, soft interior of the Ciabatta was a pleasant surprise. In fact, it complemented the thick savory Turkey, arugula, chutney and mayo! It was one of the best Turkey sandwiches I've had. Now, if that wasn't enough, don't forget, I ordered the Hash Brown Potatoes. It said Hash Browns on the blackboard, see attached picture, but these 'weren't your Mama's hash browns'! They are described online as Latka'd Hash Browns. They are thick crispy squares that combine a potato pancake latke with a hash brown texture. The interior reminded me of my mother's potato kugel, which I still reminisce about. In one word, those fried crispy potato squares were outstanding. It's 'a must try' and goes so well with the Surfer! Last, but not least, the Limeade! It was so refreshing! Not too tart, not too sweet... just right! I'll be returning to Middle Child in the not too distant future!

When I was FINALLY acknowledged; I was told here is one order which was ready, "5 mins for the next one" Okay cool. So the order was put on the counter but since people don't like when you just take the order that you have to deliver i again had to wait and try not to interrupt the conversation making me 2 minutes late for the drop off. What could improve?? Why not acknowledge people walking into your store and maybe pause your conversation because you aren't home.

They serve you fresh waster (Drinks to order include Hanks, Boylan's, Harney and Sons, Teas etc.) and will serve you at the table or you can walk up and order at the counter. Their menu has a great mix of deli, steak, "chicken" steak, meatball, sausage and cutlet sandwiches with interesting flavor combos. You can also get breakfast (till 11AM) or a salad. They also have sides that include - tots, fried pickle chips, onion rings, fries, fried mozzarella and Zayda's pickle spears, chips and cherry pepper shooters. They have a couple of vegan options and GF rolls for extra $$. The staff was more than happy to give recommendations and their favs. My first lunch was The Eye - $15 Ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp American, fried onions came on a seeded Liscio's roll. If you enjoy the somewhat newer Cooper sharp style that's out there you'll like theirs. The Cooper sharp was gooey, mixed in well with the meat and on the heavier side. The ribeye was thin cut, delicious and the portion was pretty hefty. Second visit I went with - The Nad - $15 Chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Mike's Hot Honey that came on an unseeded Liscio's roll. The portion size was good, chicken was fresh with good breading, the hot honey was a tad on the heavy side, but the flavors all came together pretty good on this one. Sweet, salty, light bitterness from the arugula and some heat from the hot honey. I added Thin Cut Idaho fries to make it a combo for $3 extra and I have to say they were delicious. They smelled like McD's and tasted similar. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. You can use a card if you order online. The one bathroom they have was pretty clean and organized. I will certainly stop back for a visit if I'm in the area to try out more of their menu. Thanks guys!

My other favorite is getting whatever special they have going on - it almost never disappoints. This time around I got the Turkey Hoagie, it was delightful. As a meat eating mammal, I cannot resist anything "whole pig". The whole pig banh mi features carrot, cabbage, cucumber, jalapeño, something called XO sauce, and of course that whole pig. This is far from the traditional banh mi, not so much due to the meat choice but the fact that the vegetables take a back seat. This is also a soft hoagie style bread instead of the crusty French bread that usually houses a banh mi. Still an enjoyable sandwich nonetheless. To my surprise, the fried potatoes were the highlight of this meal. Tender crispy fried potatoes are simply irresistible. Stockyard definitely has a lot going for it.
