The wife and I visited the placer foothills on Father's Day for a change of pace. We stopped by bluestone meadows to check out their lavender festival. The lavender fields were kinda neat. There was a craft fair and a kids play area. We paid $5 for parking-I think it was for a fundraiser of some sort. There are some lavender themed items for sale and you can pick your own bouquet if you want.

Lavender!!! This little farm grows lavender and pumpkins. Right now, it's lavender season. The farm is on Apple Hill and ran by a lovely couple. You can shop in their little open air barn or pick lavender straight out of the fields. They also host weddings and festivals. Check out their website for all the deets. The shop carries a bunch of local made lavender products: soap, bath bomb, essential oils, lotion, body spray, room spray, face cream, dried bouquets, potpourri, wreaths, plants, ice cream, and monster spray. What is monster spray? It a top secret proprietary lavender spray that keeps the monsters at bay from the kiddos... cute packaging too. I bought a lavender room spray. I spray this stuff before I go to bed. It has a mild light scent that helps me to relax. I'm pretty sure it also relaxes the monsters and keep them at bay ;D The farm has a small simple field plot that you can walk through and hand cut your own fresh lavender. A handheld bundle ranges around $10. They have a diverse variety of lavender. They have gardening gloves, handheld shears, and baskets that you can borrow free of charge to go picking your own lavender. It's free to walk about and take a gander except on festival days, they charge a car fee on those days. By the way, I popped on the weekend before June 15th. The owners were manning the shop, they were both wearing face masks and had the best attitudes. Bluestonemeadow.com @bluestonemeadow

I want to go back and see everything I missed. I'm giving this place five stars because of everything fear I saw, even though I didn't get to do. After eating delicious, warm lavender donuts (which my son refused to eat...what?!), we walked around the little lavender field. There were a few statues he climbed on and he just enjoyed running around. That was until he saw a tractor train! They took donations, so he happily dropped in money for them. We rode right up front, right behind the driver. He took us around the entire farm. Down the lavender fields, up a small trail past the fairies, and we got to see a glimpse of a petting zoo (wish we saw that before and went!), some vendors (which we did see and walk through), and back. All the while he waved and giggled. If he wasn't tired and had to go home, I would have done it again and gone back to the petting zoo. We went during the lavender festival and also picked up a small lavender plant. We can't wait to go back!

A year later, and I realized I never wrote a review!! My wife and I got married here in 2019, and the day couldn't have been more perfect! John and Carolyn were SO incredibly helpful and thoughtful from the day we first booked the venue, for months leading up to, and especially the weekend and day of our wedding. They were so welcoming and worked so hard to make sure everything was perfectly smooth and seamless on our big day. The farm is beautiful and they've made sure it has all the small details to make it a wonderful time for everyone - the big canopy and lighting, the dance floor, all the lawn games and seating areas, the vintage car for the couple, and the bumblebee train for the little ones. Everyone at our wedding had a wonderful time, and the awesome planning and hard work by John & Carolyn that goes into keeping the farm so beautiful and fun really shows. I'd highly recommend checking it out whether you're looking for a wedding venue, or just picking pumpkins or seeing the lavender fields. Thanks for everything!

I didn't know they have Llamas I wanted to try their famous lavender ice cream but we got there too late. What a beautiful place to relax and enjoy. The staffs are so friendly and helpful. I bought a mixed lavender sachet for souvenir. It's a must to go whenever you are at Placerville. I read it's not open everyday so check their website or contact them.

We just had our wedding here and not only is the entire location beautiful, but both John and Carolyn are incredibly helpful in planning a wedding. They kept in touch with me over the year to check in if I needed any help or recommendations for vendors. They put in so much work and effort to get and keep their property looking amazing for all the weddings they support. I really enjoyed working with them. They were also a huge help keeping my 4 year old entertained while I and my maids ran around getting stuff ready for the day of. They were always near by for the day of in case we needed anything and they were never pushy or demanding in anyway. So glad we chose Bluestone Meadow to celebrate our special day.

This was by far our favorite farm to visit while driving around Apple Hill. We were greeted with warmth and smiles. My girls loved the tractor ride thru the field and mini haunted house (so fun!). They also enjoyed the duck races and bubble makers. Thanks for a fun afternoon!

We also got their corn dog and hot link corn dog to try, as well as their hot apple cider. I don't even like cake donuts, but something about a freshly made HOT donut will do something to you!! It was SO soft, hot, and had a good amount of cinnamon to it which I really appreciated. Get your own and don't share, you've been warned! The corn dog batter is delicious! Crispy on the outside and ever so slightly doughy on the inside while still being chewy and soft--it was so good! Not to mention the actual hot dog tasted like it was all beef, not sure if it was, but it definitely wasn't a Bar-S hot dog if you know what I mean! The hot link corn dog was my FAVORITE. Had a GREAT snap when bitten into and had a very small kick to it. I wish it was spicier but that's okay! I love a good corn dog. The hot apple cider was on the sweeter side, it was good on that chilly day but I most likely wouldn't get it again next time because it was a bit too sweet. You have to stop by Rainbow Orchards. Line moves fast and service is great. Also the trees everywhere make a great photo opportunity!

Only waited about 5 minutes until we ordered! Not sure why it's called a "walking apple pie" since you could really walk with any pie, sliced or whole. The crust on this was ever so slightly flaky while still having a good amount of doughiness that made it soft and enjoyable to eat. It wasn't too thick either which is what I assumed it would be! There is also an insane amount of apple inside, sliced on the thinner side but not overcooked at all. NOT skimpy, good cinnamon flavor and VERY delicious! I'm not even a fan of apple pie, so I was shocked I actually liked it! The vanilla ice cream on top definitely made the entire thing even more enjoyable--if I were to get this again I'd make sure to get an extra scoop. The contrast between the piping hot apple pie and the cold ice cream was so addicting and sweet in the best way. We also got the pumpkin cheesecake. I'd pass on this. Didn't have much of a pumpkin flavor and I felt like the cheesecake was lacking overall. The graham cracker crust is buttery and soft which I appreciated, and they top the cheesecake with what tasted like a sugar crumble on top which I also liked. Overall the cheesecake was creamy and smooth but nothing special. I wouldn't get this again, simply for the fact that if you're labeling something as "pumpkin cheesecake" and the first word is pumpkin, I want to be punched in the face with pumpkin flavor, however my friend did enjoy it because he loves cheesecake. Service was great, the views were phenomenal. They also have real bathrooms here. Definitely stop by!

It has lots of apple pieces and was covered with walnuts. It wasn't too sweet which was my liking. - Donut crumb ($2): the donut was good and soft. The crumb gave crunchy texture on the surface of the donut. - Dutch apple pie slice ($6): was ok. There were packed with apple pieces, very cinnamony and not too sweet. However, the crumb on top of the pie (that makes it 'Dutch') was disappointing - it was soggy and clumpy. - Sour cream berry pie ($6): delicious! The only disappointment was no hot cider :( not sure if this is/isn't a thing at this farm, but that was one thing we were looking forward to. As we put the finishing touches on our tempranillo, an employee came by to see if we were ready for another round.
