We went there for Christmas. The food was absolutely horrible. The Christmas prime rib was so tough you couldn't cut it with a knife. It was thrown on top of disgusting amount of vegetables, mash potatoes, stuffing. Honestly the worst meal ever! Everything was the cooks fault. But someone at the restaurant decided to put us all together out on the patio. He assured us it was going to be very warm out there. We were looking for a new to us place with water views and found BluWater Bistro. It's in a great location with views of the water, I90 bridge and Bellevue skyline. Its a large place with ample seating indoors and out, with their own parking lot. We were seated immediately, and they accommodated us and moved us to a table by the window when it opened up. The service was great all through our meal. We started with French Onion soup, Baked Brie, Crab Wontons. Our French onion soup and Baked Brie showed up quickly, Crab wontons seemed to have gotten missed. Once our main course was served and we asked about it, they brought it out quickly. We loved our appetizers. I loved that the wonton had more crab than cream cheese. For main course we got Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese, Jerk Chicken Satay, Salmon Entree, and Parmesan crusted Rockfish. I loved my Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese, it was the perfect combination of cheesy, and crunchy on top, along with fresh crab. The Jerk Chicken Satay and Salmon were good. The owner has an anger problem. When I complained about the built-in extra charge, ASSUMING the use of a credit card WITHOUT ASKING US, he tried to say others do the same thing, I told him I refused to pay anyone who charged us without clear advance notice. There's quite a bit to say about this place. I ordered the Steak and Eggs and my partner had the Eggs Benedict. It cost us about 39 before tax. It could've lasted us 2 meals each. First, the ambiance is a family restaurant style place. It has open windows and overlooks the water, which is nice. But, it has a much older vibe to it, kinda like it was inspired by old boats with carpeted floors and wood interior. Could be quite cozy at night. The bad parts in terms of food: The steak had like 0 seasoning, along with the potatoes. The eggs benedict also tasted like it was made out of butter and ended up making my partner feel VERY nauseated after. The bad parts in terms of the restaurant: Tables were a little greasy. We noticed they just wiped it off and didn't spray anything, so any grease probably compounds. There was no waiter really "delegated" to our table, so when we were going for a check/boxing our leftovers, we had 3 different people come by. The box for leftovers had a tiny bit of gunk on it, seemed like potato bits. We noticed when another family came by and got a baby seat that there were crumbs all over the baby seat that the restaurant didnt even bother to clean up. A redeeming factor is that they provided complimentary banana bread. Overall, never going back here. We went here because we didn't have a reservation for Meet the Moon, and we should've just waited for that instead. read more

Please do not go here. I am a Yelp Elite and was so shocked, disappointed, upset about my experience here. I have been here once before and my dinner was ok but due to its location, one only in this area with water views, it was supposedly a good restaurant. Well, I must differ. When I arrived, I was looking for a space for a large group, and at that time they had plenty of outside space. I went to talk to the host who was pleasant. I was then greeted by the owner who did not introduce himself and was in a really bad mood. I was not sure if he was the owner or the general manager since I have partnered with many restaurants and organizations in my lifetime. When he walked away, I had to ask the hostess if he was the owner or GM, and she said owner. Here I was giving this venue revenue and his condescending response to me was you and your group are so unorganized, scoffed at me saying I bet you all want separate checks. And, kept shaking his head looking at me. How rude and disheartening! If it wasn't for me gathering this large group of amazing people, I would have immediately walked out of there. He begrudgingly assigned someone to our section. This unbelievable attitude was so offensive, I have never been talked to like this especially at a restaurant I am trying to patronize, I thought wow is it because of something else, such as discrimination. I would not say this but I am still reeling over how he treated me, and could not believe the way that he was, which was not warranted. The server was much more amenable and asked us to keep checks together and again I was really surprised for being an establishment, that they didn't have the operational capacity to take care of us like other restaurants do. Mind you, this place was not even close to being full for a Friday summer evening. Their entire outside space was empty and no line to get in. After our gathering was nearing to the end, I went back inside to see if I can find the owner in hopes that his attitude changed since how amazing our group was and how much money we spent. It was a win for him and BluWater that we were there, but, yet again, when I saw him he was rude and dismissive once again. I did see him and asked how did things go. His response I wasn't out there so I don't know and angrily walked away. I left with a bad taste in my mouth, and I will never, ever go back unless he apologizes or is replaced. I am giving this place 1 star which does not happen with me. I am a true believer of aloha and second chances, etc. but although the food and drinks were good, the overall experience and the way the owner treated me/us is unacceptable, and simply not ok. BluWater is such a gem of place. It's casual but fancy. It's luxury and down to earth at the same time. Came here with my wife on a lunch break and we loved our experience. The view of the water was perfect. We tried a few things on menu and everything was a hit. My favorite was the Salmon. Speaking for the lunch crowd vide, it seems like this is the type of place you can go for a day date, a business lunch or a casual meet up with friends. There's a couple of parking lots in the area and during the day, had no issues with finding a spot. I definitely want to come back to see what dinner atmosphere is like. read more

My wallet was stolen from there on june 26th, 2023. I originally left my wallet in the restaurant, and within 10 min, I realized it was missing. I returned back to the restaurant, and no one could find it after searching everywhere. I immediately contact the restaurant, and email them the next day... Bart, the manager, responds I meet with him the next day. I request video footage, and he states that he will do it at the end of the business day, but that it isn't worth it as they had an ATM stolen, and cops didn't do anything about it. I told him I filed a report anyway and would love any videos, as I suspect my wallet was taken from within the restaurant (not insinuating it is the employees). I wait and wait, Bart ghosts me. I contacted him originally on June 27th, then again on July 8th & July 10th. He never responds. He could care less that thousands were stolen, my debit card and credit card being taken, and took the time to complain about his own plight of truck stealing their 10K inside an ATM machine. read more

We are living in unprecedented times two years in, and no where has been hit hardest than the hospitality industry. BluWater Bistro highlights this because all the employees here are working hard. I never saw anyone stop moving. The kitchen had a line of tickets a mile long. The entire staff was extremely hard working and super friendly. Yet, they were drowning. While we were seated immediately it took an hour from the time we arrived until the time we had food. Then it took another five minutes to track down silverware. The food ranged from great - the French dip sandwich was very tasty and flavorful - to underwhelming - the au jus had zero flavor, and was easily the dullest au jus I've ever tasted. My friend had a similar experience; his potatoes were incredible but his steak was extremely well down on one end and medium on the other end. The restaurant is worn and dated. My drinks came in glasses that were covered in scratches. The table was dented and gouged. The carpet's seams were clearly visible - a sign of age and the glue loosening which was apparent as it puckered when people walked across it. It has plenty of outdoor and inside seating. Tho don't sit near the door if you sit inside because that thing never closed! It became chilly fast. Lunch was ok. The drinks spectacular. We were here for almost two hours, so be patient if you come and tip your server well. They work exceptionally hard here. read more

Service was great except dessert too way too long (waited 35 mins for it) and that's the only reason for the 4 stars. Dinner for three (no alcohol, no appetizers, no dessert was $120 before tip). And while it was good - it wasn't great. The staff was friendly and attentive, even on a busy night. If your goal is a reasonably priced brunch that is filling with no wait then this will hit that mark. Bluwater provides an abundance, in seating, value, and portions even if the food overall is mid. We came by for brunch and were seated immediately, which I find rare for any brunch place in Seattle. The wait staff was very attentive to my celiac (gluten) allergy and even double checked that my Bloody Mary could be made gluten free. I ordered a protein plate which was steak, eggs and some side veggies. The food was lacking any real seasoning and my poached eggs were not runny in the slightest. Given that the whole plate was $16 and my pint glass Bloody Mary was $5.50 I can't complain. Flavor was traded for volume. The rest of the table had the same feelings, nothing impressive but still felt like we all got our moneys worth. I was so upset by their ignorance I kept apologizing to my cousin for taking her there. Next time I will go somewhere on Lake Union. If it wasn't for Aaron I would have left the restaurant. The brunch menu was severely reduced (I get it, it's a busy day) but we had looked at the menu ahead of time and were bummed out there were only about 6 options available, one of which was just yogurt. Took about 25 mins to get some OJ after being forgotten about with the rest of the table's drink orders. Food was underwhelming- small servings leaving the plate looking bare. Our meals came with the breakfast potatoes, and we each got about 3 mini potatoes. Everything came with a slice of cantaloupe which was not ripe and crunchy. Mother's Day RUINED‼First of all, it took them an hour to seat us even though we had reservations. Then we waited 30 mins just to get straws. Then after an hour, they gave us bread with butter and no utensils or small plates. I am sad to write this review. I use to come here for happy hour and other holidays. Their food and service use to be exceptional. I'm just going to assume this is a one off disappointed experience for Mother's Day. We made reservations in advance week prior. We waited 30 minutes in line to check in and 45 minutes for our table. We then waited another hour for our steak and lobster. We asked for bread and were told bread service is not available however another table next to us received a plate of bread and butter. My partner had the salmon Street tacos and was extremely disappointed, I've come here with other people and they've also had the street tacos and did not like them at all I had the halibut pesto pasta. It was all right, but I feel like every dish year is lacking flavor. The appetizer bread they bring out with oil is probably the best thing they have. I took off a star because the first two items we tried to order from the menu were not available. However, after we settled on other choices the experience was all uphill. Our waitress was super cheerful and attentive. Our entree choices were the Salmon, generous portion cooked perfectly. The baked chicken with mashed potatoes, the meatloaf plate, special Mac and cheese and the blue cheese pear salad. Our party of 5 were all very happy with the freshness and quality of our meal. The point of "reservation" is to have the restaurant reserve a table for you at a mutually agreed time. I "reserved" a table at this restaurant two weeks prior, and when I arrived today there's a huge line of people all stuck at the door, apparently all with reservations. I reserved a table at 7:15, arrived at 7, and didn't get seated until 7:45. By the time we got food on the table it was already 8:30pm. Everything was completely chaotic. There's no "official" line/que, people just come and go, the host was frantically running around too busy to answer any questions. The food was okay. For 55 dollars pre-tax, the steak we ordered was cooked properly but lacking flavor. The "seasoned vegetables" was a couple barely cooked carrots which was too raw for my tasting (maybe it is a thing for people who chuck raw carrots as snacks? idk). Kinda expected more for the price point. Overall it was a huge let down. I hate being told to my face that "we all have reservations". That's not how reservations work man, it is just not right to have 20 people who reserved lining up at the door. I would have picked somewhere else if I knew, tbh. read more

We're up here in Seattle on a super-record-setting-baking-heat late-June Sunday. Today's projected to be 105 here, so we headed out for an earlier Sunday breakfast. We were seated promptly, and our helpful server took our order. I ordered the Benedict with Ham, Wife N ordered the pancakes, and our son went with lunch: the Bluewater Burger. Wife also ordered a Mai Tai. The food arrived reasonably promptly. The Bene had house-made Hollandaise, a lovely tangy complement to the perfectly-poached gooey eggs. Wonderful. Wife N's pancakes were also homemade--she was clear this definitely wasn't a mix. She found them excellent. Son (19) scarfed the burger. He said with his last mouth still full, "mrff gate" - - "It was great" Lovely spot with beautiful views. Service great. Food great. We stopped at Blu Water Bistro for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant, which is located overlooking Seattle bay and has a wonderful view, was mainly empty at 12:45. We ordered fish and chips, crab wontons and a salmon sandwich. Most of the food was unimpressive. Fish and chips came with almost uneatable COLE slaw that tasted stale and chemically. Fries were probably the best. Fish and chips coated with thick breadcrumbs and overcooked. Wontons were okay - not bad, nothing to rave about. Typical of places with the view, neither food nor service was that good. Service was slow and forgetful. All around a two star experience. Tips: View is the best here. Mother's Day: This is the second time we've gone here to celebrate. The first time was fine, but today? Not so much. We had a reservation and were seated fairly quickly, but after that we waited for quite a while to get a server. OJ was brought eventually, and it was WARM. When the food came, it was lukewarm and my husband's dish arrived incomplete--we had to ask for his scone, which she subsequently forgot to bring, so we had to ask again. When it came, it was hard and dry--a hockey puck. The potatoes were waxy and served with a weird glob of ranch dressing. The tea ordered came with lukewarm water that couldn't steep anything--and no sugar or creamer offered. The "avocado scramble" seemed to be just a regular scramble with one slice of avocado plopped on the side of the plate. Next year it will be ANYWHERE but here. read more

First things first, the positives. Service was friendly albeit inattentive. The view of Lake Washington, the Bellevue skyline and the Cascades is unbeatable on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The gravy on my chicken fried steak was pretty good and the chocolate chip pancakes were sufficient, even if they were clearly Bisquick. Now for the negatives...the food was laughably bad. Literally. By the time we were done all six of us were cracking up at how bad everything was. Pictured below is the "steak" from my chicken fried steak. It was perfectly gray all the way through. On the bright side, the gray was uniform throughout the meat so I can't actually say it was discolored. One of my companions ordered the steak and eggs. She ordered her steak medium and it arrived to the table still bleeding. To her credit, the waitress immediately recognized the issue and took the steak back to the kitchen. 7-8 minutes later the steak came back with a little more char on the outside, presumably from further cooking. The steak as it arrived the second time is pictured below. I think it's rare? It just looks kind of weird. To be fair, I think the steak is a cheap chuck steak that looks terrible rare or undercooked. We sat down at 12:45p and didn't leave until 2:50p, so not only was the experience bad, it was seemingly interminable to boot! BluWater used to have a great reputation but I think those days are long gone. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. read more
