Brunch was very average, they've gotten rid of all the extras, No Orange slices with eggs, no banana cake. I'm surprised that this place got low reviews. Sad because this place is my favorite place! :( Anyway, I usually come here for their happy hour and I love it because the kitchen closes at around 1am and the food has always turned out great whenever I've ordered. I've had their calamari, pizza, artichoke dip, clams, sliders, crab rangoons---- of course, not in all one sitting! LOL I shared with my boyfriend and friends that I've invited to this place as well. I've been here for lunch once and it was great as well. If you're lucky, they have great old school R&B cuts playing on a Saturday night which makes the food and company always a notch more enjoyable. This place has the best Happy Hour in town! The food is delicious and the location is great! I first visited the restaurant while on a date. We arrived just in time for the late night Happy Hour menu. I had a glass of wine ($4) and the Crab Wontons ($7). Mmm.... Mmm.... Mmm..... delicious! The lights were down low and the lit up by many candles. It gave the place a nice intimate feel. The restaurant sits on Lake Washington, so it has a beautiful view of the water. I've had dinner at this restaurant twice. One of those times I had reservations.the The first time I waited approximately 25mins, which is to be expected at a white table cloth type of dinner atleast I thought that was the case. For one the food wasn't anything to write home about. 2, they definitely need to do some updating. 3, the waitress was not friendly. The second time I made reservations on Christmas. This is what did it for me and why I will never go back. The reservation was for 2, we get there and the line is pretty much out the door I wasn't worried we made prior arrangements, long story short we still had to wait 1hour and 20mins and the so called Manager who is secretly the owner but didn't want anybody to know, especially that night because people were pist he had over booked the whole night just to get as many people as he could for the night. I made reservations Monday for 8 - 2 tables on the patio to celebrate my son's golden bday. 2 of my guest arrived early were told they would accommodate only 6- (changes from original reservations should not have been discussed with my guest, unprofessional). I arrive right at 6 to be told can't accommodate 8, 6 at the most and instead of patio..the back deck a small enclosed area. I asked just to be seated outside near the parking lot, when I arrived only 1 of 4 tables were occupied. After some pushing the manager allowed. Came back from getting my guest 2 of 4 tables were seated by another host. No covid spacing. We had to ask for bread, waters, plates utensil after almost an hour of seating, orders finally taken, some food arrived Lukewarm, not as ordered and a few were fine and actually tasty (salad w/ a flank of salmon). The host manager Bart and waitress were rude and were inattentive overall. A party of 3 relatives later showed who had reservations and was not allowed to seat in the vacant tables on our area because they knew us, yet strangers were sat next to us no table between. My family and I used to frequent Blu at least twice monthly and weekly during summer, prior to the pandemic the food and service also took a turn for the worst we backed off. We tried again because of the location near our homes and the stunning view only to be so greatly disappointed by the service and management's handling of the above issues. Replying, "what would you like me to do?" As if he had no idea how to correct the situation or maybe he didn't see it as an issue? Start with addressing and correct the concerns we shared. Secondly an apology wouldn't hurt. Lastly don't ask anyone to pay for bad food, that wasn't eaten. If we attend this restaurant again it will be strictly drinks. Had reservations for 1245 didn't get food till 210pm my mom had a hair in her banana bread so I asked to speak to a manager after 45 min the so called owner named Bart comes and talks to me dude is so upset saying they are backed up in the kitchen and they will take care of everyone meal. We come here about once a week for lunch. The view is awesome. The food is very good. Portions are large. The taco salad and prime rib dip are my favorite lunch items. I went here yesterday with friends--we actually came to this area to eat at a different restaurant but it was closed for a private event so we came here instead. If I could just rate the food, I'd give it 4 stars for sure! The salad was large and filling and delicious. My friend ordered the fish n'chips and they were so good that I kept eating from his plate. The bread pudding was also very good. Now, the 3 star rating is mostly for the atmosphere/service. It was very warm and stuffy in there which made for a somewhat uncomfortable time (but it was an unusually hot Seattle day so I'll give them a pass for this). Secondly, the service, while friendly, was sslllloowwwwww. It took a while for us to get menus, a while to finally order drinks, a while to then order food, and finally a while to get the check and then an additional while to pay. My waiter brought us water (which was great and unprompted) but my glass had like a piece of newspaper in it...this was unpleasant but I don't think he did it on purpose so I didn't make a fuss. I think for the pricing, the service should seek to improve. I'd come back again I think if it's not busy only because the extremely slow service kind of ruins the evening. M and my uncle when to this place for dinner. I got the rock fish with parmesan crust and that was so good that it felt like i was in heaven it was so good . My uncle got the parmesan chken with Alfredo sauce and noodles. We both had the seasonal vegetables and they were the best beans I've had in a long time. For dessert, we shared the brownie thingy. It was HUGE! We both shared it and couldn't even finish half. Next time we go, we'll try the s'mores dessert. Saw someone eating it on the way out and they had their own little fire to cook the marshmallows. Overall, the food was excellent, especially for the price. I frequently (weekly) eat at BluWater because it is so close to my home. The food has really improved over the last few years. The staff is great--friendly, responsive, welcoming. And during the summer the patio is wonderful. My only warning is to avoid the ceviche appetizer---it is horrible. I wish they would ditch the lettuce thing it sits in and just serve a straight ceviche. They should just keep it simple. However, the ahi poke is excellent. Order the blackberry martini. as soon as we sat down they brought us a plate with what looked like olive oil with spices and slices of bread for dunking, the taste was NOT RIGHT so I asked the waitress what it was she said it was CANOLA OIL!!!! shocking canola oil is a cooking oil the hot peppers in it was to disguise the flavor! This should be enough as a negative review, but I think I will also add that the oil they use for fish and chips is getting old and over used it is starting to smell like a cheap greasy food stand at a fair, one more thing the burgers are greasy.... Despite some other's issues with this place, I've been here three times and have absolutely loved the food and the service. Each time that I've been here I've come via my uncle's boat. There is a convenient dock located outside (that could use maintenance but that's not BluWater's problem) so it's a great location to eat if you're on the water all day. I've tried something new every time I've come and every time I've been really impressed with the food! My personal favorite is the chicken parmesan. My family decided to go here for grandma's birthday - given easy access from the lake, we thought it would be a great place! Needless to say, we should have read the reviews. Not only did it seem deserted for a Friday night, it looked like the place needed a lot of help. For being on the water and the prices comparable to other high end restaurants, we were very very disappointed. After asking for a second basket of bread, our waiter informed us "This isn't a free restaurant" and then proceeded to try making it a joke. No class. Along with actual bone (not it wasn't cartilage) found in a hamburger, the calamari tasted as it was poured from a plastic bag from a local grocery story. After informing the front hostess (who was actually really nice) of not only the not so par service and crappy food, she called over the owner and he proceed to ask over and over "What can I do to make it better?" Instead of trying to make it right by offering to make a new dish, he proceed to act like what I was telling him was somewhat of a joke and that'd he'd been there for years and continues to run a *great* restaurant. Even with showing the bone found in the meat, not even a small discount was offered and evidently they don't do a small birthday treat either. All in all - stay away. Save your money, you'll find better stuff at a local grocery store frozen food section for a 1/10 of the cost! read more

I never write reviews on Yelp. My experience at this restaurant was so terrible, I am actually taking time out of my day to warn everyone away. Instead of reading the rest of this review, save the time use it looking for another place to dine. Came in on Saturday afternoon, 130pm, looking for chill place for lunch. What we got was terrible service - a waiter who was annoyed when we asked to be seated outside. Was then even more annoyed when we asked to sit inside because the table had MOLD on it, and there were yellow-jackets swarming our drinks as soon as they reach the table. We had to keep our drinks in-hand because the tables outside are cheap, plastic tables with no stability. Once we moved inside, I watched our food sit under the heat lamp (we both got salads) for 11 minutes. It should be noted that there were approximately 10 other people in the place. My salad was terrible, lettuce was limp, chicken had been cooked ages ago. Salty everything, etc etc. You'd think I insulted the waitstaff's mother based on their look when I asked for more water. They were outwardly annoyed that we were there, and were way more interested in chatting with one another. With Daniel's right next door, you'd think a place like this would step it up to keep busy. I'm new to this area, but I was blown away that a place that was this dirty, inhospitable, and had down-right disgusting food - is still in business. The only reason this place deserves a 1 star is because of its location. First of all, we made reservations a month in advance to see the Blue Angels; we even checked to make sure reservations were allowed for that day since it would be Seafair weekend. The day of the reservation, we called early in the morning to ensure we had a place to sit (our grandma was driving an hour to come watch the Blue Angels with us). They told us there were no reservations booked for the day, and we were welcome to stand if we still wanted to come. After three back and forth phone calls, they finally agreed to give us the reservation. The waitress who had originally taken our reservation served us. She was exceptionally mediocre until we finished our brunch. Nana had to leave early, so she left and paid her part of the tab. The rest of us requested we split our tabs (around $300), but they told us their system could not process our request. (How did they split Nana's tab?) After haggling with the less than professional manager for 15 minutes, he said "I don't care, I am going to run your cards and that's that." He ran the cards and actually threw our checks on the table AFTER accusing our friend of having "Short-Man Syndrome." (What does having your bill split have to do with Short Man Syndrome?..and as a side note our friend is about 6 feet tall...) I am shocked at the service we had at Bluwater Bistro--from the unauthorized credit card transactions to the unbelievable management and service we received. Bluewater, please fix your management before you go under for it. You should be grateful for the 2 stars you have on Yelp. read more

I've tried every location in the greater Seattle area for BluWater and I have never been happy with any of the locations. But this Leschi location really let me know that none of them are worth your money. First of all it was a nice day outside but it was not warm. The restaurant was OVERLY cold. When I asked about getting the heat turned on, the waitress said they could not doing anything about it. Ok fine, I get that maybe they had a system they no one on duty could work. Now to food...I got there and waited 25 minutes before anyone came by and the person that came by I had to get their attention to ask where my server was. Then I waited another 10 minutes before she even came by. Food was slow and not very good. I ordered the crab rangoon and it wasn't anything amazing. I can get that at a cheap Thai restaurant for half the cost and the exact same taste. For my meal I ordered the pasta special and there wasn't anything that special about it. Granted it was better then a pasta you might get for $5 at a buffet but nothing I would say was worth more then $8. Our drink orders were slow!!! Not sure how long it takes to pour a beer out of a tap there, but I know it doesn't take 15 minutes. We were sitting right by the bar and I watched as the bartender just chatted it up with people ignoring the order the waitress put in. Great team work, NOT!!! I hate to be the diner that is complaining about their meal but my wife and I came here for our first anniversary/my 32nd birthday and it was awful. We had been here before and had had wonderful meal. So we figured it would be a great place to spend a sunny lunch together. I called 4 days ahead of time and requested an outside table and mentioned that we would be celebrating our anniversary. I called again a hour before to confirm the reservation and ask again about the outside table they said "not a problem...just come on down it's taken care of". When we got there they did not have a table and were very rude about it. We ordered food my meal was thrown together and I only got 10 French fries that were cold and the wrap had come unwrapped so it was nothing more the a salad on a tortilla. When I asked about if that was the way it should look I was told it was the way it should be. My wife seemed to enjoy her salad. The rest of the servers seemed to be busy talking with this group outside, and there only seemed to be one server handling the inside. We spoke to the manager who informed us that they don't take reservations for their outside seating and that the person on the phone most likely "just wanted to get you off the phone". That's great, why did they keep telling us that we would be able to sit outside if it was not going to be a option? He also comped our starter. If it was not for their view, my wife's salad and Mac and Jack's on tap this place would get no stars. In front of your prime-view window seating sights you have this exceedingly industrial-looking marina, with a giant crane towering over things. For those of us who are not boat-builders, it's just ugly. The dining room, however, is pretty, warm, and beckoning. Were the food decent, though, it would make it worthwhile. We had a grilled tuna and a rockfish entrees. Sent back the tuna to the kitchen, it was so bad. Tasted like something soaked in salt brine for a week. Crusted rockfish was thick, hard crust and very little fish underneath there. Ugh. Side salads were excellent, though. But the artichoke/crab appetizer was not appealing; my fiancee complained of a chemical, acid taste to it. Waitress turned snippy when we sent the tuna back to the kitchen to redo it without killing it with salt. BluWater is a mid-aspiration, mid-price chain, and the outlet in Kirkland used to be okay for that category. But I cannot recommend the Leschi location. The menu reads okay before you've dined there, but hope is lost after you've actually tasted the chef's offerings. read more

We made a reservation for 11 of us following my grandson's graduation. We arrived 15 minutes early and were told to wait while they set up. Another party walked in and was taken to our table and we lost the best table for 11. We were then stuck in the back corner with much less view available. When it was pointed we were told oh well we will set up another table. The waitress was absolutely ditzy. First off mouthing off that she would divide the check up only because she was told to. If it were up to her she wouldn't do it! This was arranged for prior to our being seated. She couldn't keep orders straight, had to be asked to bring both salt and pepper and did little to make sure we were okay. We were one of two tables she was taking care of. The flowers on the table were not only skimpy, but the water they were in was very dirty. Both ceaser's were poorly arranged with very little dressing and very bland and the very small serviing of crab did not justify the cost.. The biggest hit was the macaroni and cheese and the porkchops. Overpriced, and definately not a place we will go back to. We arrived at 3:15 p.m. on, it definately was not busy.
