I was super excited when this spot opened up in Covina! I work in this area often and it's great to have a spot to pick up decent fast Vietnamese comfort food! For those who don't know Banh Mi Cali is, it's like a viet yosinoya... Parking: galore, yay Service: great! Super quick and fluent in both Vietnamese and English Food: +cheap (many items for under $5 and they even have a 50% off chicken pho promo right now, BOGO free boba is also a superb deal) +a drive through, what what??? So cool! Bahn Mi Che Cali with a different name. However, it is not best in terms of taste compared to its other locations that I've been. Chicken Pho is 50% off. However, it is quite bland with to its location in West Covina. The location in West Covina uses the thigh meat, whereas the one here uses thin slices of breast meat. While it should be more nutritious overall, it's a bit overcooked in my opinion. The broth tastes like boiled water. If you're looking for a place for a quick and cheap bite that opens late, this is the place. Just don't expect anything as yummy as the restaurants that specializes in pho. Well I have always gone BMC pho and has always been my go to But today as I ordered My Bowl I realized rather quickly My noodles were over cooked by the soggy taste that they were and I told the clerk nicely my pho noodles were over cooked when she proceeded to tell me that is the way pho is supposed to be , mind u I have always gone there and even have my Postmates and UberEATS set as a favorite for BMC pho she also decided to tell me I do not know what pho is supposed to taste like , mind u I did not ask for a refund or demand another bowl so just for that I will never be going to BMC pho again and neither will my family or friends read more

I don't come here anymore because I got sick the last 2 times eating here. makes me wonder their sanitation procedures back in the kitchen making the food and the freshness of it. The dining area is disgusting. My sister would go through the drive through and bring me sandwich from here and they are good so I decided to go in and order one day. Yuck. Looks like they have not really cleaned in years. The table maybe wiped down but nothing more. The condiment containers have residue on them, the walls have stains, it just needs a really good steam cleaning. If they keep the dining area like that how do they keep the kitchen?! I had dinner here today and I must say that the place is cleaner than the other locations. Probably because it's still grand opening here. There are more seats than the other locations as well. We ordered 2 #1 pho, buy 2 get 1 free banh mis, and their buy 1 get 1 free boba drinks. The total came out to be $22, which is a very good deal. I just love coming to banh mi che cali for their banh mis and I'm so happy that this new location opened near my home. I don't have to drive to West Covina or San Gabriel any more. It seems this location is fully staffed and they have a Help Wanted sign on their front door. I love the fast service this place provides. You don't have to wait a long time for your food because they have someone available to make your food. And the best thing about this location is that there is a drive-thru. You can sit in your car and order take out. Sometimes I'm too lazy to get out of the car and with a toddler who might be napping in his car seat, drive-thrus have become a luxury for me. I would have given a 4.5 star. The .5 star missing is because the table wasn't wiped and there were stains on our table and the chair was a little sticky. Also, the lady taking our order was busy training the other cashier while taking our order. It would have been nice to get our order out of the way instead of making us wait while she train before letting us finish our order. But overall, I'll come back to this location over and over again. ok, this place is tasty but had 2 bad experiences already. Been here about 4 - 5 times. One of those times I ordered the Thai Tea BOGO. They put them in the bag. By the time I got to work, one of them had a leak and all of the thai tea was in the bag and my seat. Now today I went for lunch and grabbed a sandwhich. I always ask for them to add onion. Keep in mind I have been there plenty of times before. So today the girl tells me "I'm sorry, but my boss just told me that we can't add onion to the sandwhiches. So please do not ask for onion from here on out". I was like "WTF?" If I want onion, they should put it in the sandwhich. Have they not heard "The customer is always right"? Well most of the time. One more thing. Their flyers say one price and once you get there it's a higher price. They should make new flyers or have the same price on both the flyer and in the restaurant. So with that being said, I have to give them 3 stars instead of the 5 stars I was going to give them. One thing, the girls at the drive thru are friendly. The girl who told me about "NO ONIONS" was nice too. It looked like she was just doing what she was being told. So nothing against her. read more

Consider this place to be a good Vietnamese fast food joint. They have a drive thru, so they're used to churning out food quickly. Inside it's a fast/casual joint, so you order at the cashier and they bring the food out to you. I've had the sandwiches there, which are inexpensive, made fresh, and delicious (buy 2, get the 3rd free). I've been here a few times with my colleagues and they always get the pho and claim that it's good and they can't believe how inexpensive it is. They have boba drinks (selections are limited) and other baked goods. I recommend this place for people who want good food served quickly. read more

So I usually go to the Hong Kong plaza location but this one is closest to me so I said why not? Bad decision. Seems like their only spice is salt. Pho' had no flavor, it tasted water down. I got food poisoning from this place on Friday February 20th. I had the beef fried noodles and egg rolls, after having this meal I started to feel fatigue and nauseous. Didn't think much of it till I got home after work and had a fever and the chills. I got up after taking a nap and started throwing up, felt a little better afterwards but my stomach feels really weak and had no appetite the day after. Compared to the all the other locations that I have went to, this was the worst. When we ordered, it was fine but went downhill from there. My aunt who ordered extra noodles, had the repeated to her when we ordered but when we sat down and asked one of the other workers insisted that we pay again although it was already charged to our bill. Also, for my bowl, compared to the other locations, there was nearly less than half of the noodles than what i would usually get, and the chicken was just bland. I went to BMC about a month ago and picked up some food to go. I'll start by saying that the food was good. The cleanliness however was a big problem: there were dirty tables, smashed food on the floor and flies hovering throughout. Despite all this I went back about a week ago. The place looked worse, there were more flies and the floor was disgusting. My wife actually thought about leaving. My 3 and 5 year old daughters were at a table while I was ordering when they started panicking and walking away from the table. They were yelling "there's a bug" and sure enough, it was a cockroach. I don't want to imagine what goes on behind the scenes. I don't care how authentic or cheap or good the food may be, there's no way I would ever go back to BMC. read more

I have never been inside, and I have only gotten teas here so far. So that is what my review is for. I go through the drive-thru and get boba milk teas because of their BOGO offer they have. $3 total for two milk teas, pretty good deal. I always get boba and pudding, and they don't charge me extra. They don't give you as much as a normal boba shop, but that's okay. The milk tea is really creamy, richy and sweet here. Just how I like it. Same goes for their thai tea. Sometimes I come and get two and just drink one later. Maybe some day I'll try the food. read more

Stay away from this "pho" restaurant , noodles are horrible / big piece of bone in my #5 combo. Noodles feel like I'm eating spaghetti and not pho, taste is not great but can use a lot of work. Hands down worse pho place I have ever had. Rather drive the extra 20mins to another shop in San dimas VN cuisine, rather enjoy real pho then fake store bought taste. I noticed them flying around when I walked in but REALLY noticed it when I sat down at a table and and the tip of all the sauces literally had 2-3 flies each just hanging out on them. I'd say it's worth bringing up to management but when I saw a worker sit down on lunch break, shoo the flies off the bottles then start using the sauces it was obvious that they don't really give a shit. This is a fast food Vietamese food establishment even with a drive thru. Their pho is delicious. The soup had a lot of flavor and the noodles were ok portions. The milk teas were so good. It was buy 1 get 1 free. Liked their fried rice too. It was delicious. We also ordered the buy 2 get 1 free banh mi's with french bread. It was good but not delicious. It's tasted like it's missing something. It doesn't have the flavor that other banh mi bakeries or restaurants have. We bought a lot of the banh mi's to bring home too and we had to add mayonnaise and our own pickled vegetables to them. We had exceptional service from the female cashier who took our order. If you are familiar with this chain then the prices and quality of food are consistent. Decent food at incredibly cheap prices !!! The drive thru just put the cherry on top for me. Word to the wise: if you think you're going to get Pho in the drive thru, think again. You will need to go inside. They don't want any lawsuits if you burn up your legs. Besides that, it's all good ! We went around 12pm and this place was very busy. They had some great deals on their menu. Their boba/tea were buy one get 1 free. At $2.75, you can't beat that. Also the banh mi were buy 2 get 1 free also. They had a good selection of pre-packaged food too for those looking to just grab and go. I decided to order the beef fried noodles. We decided to order food to go since there were pretty much no available seats in the restaurant. It was RIDICULOUS how long it took me to get my order. Everyone that had ordered before me received their order. We got our bubble tea and thai tea, but my food seemed like it took forever. I had to ask one of the workers if my order was almost ready. She gave this look to one of the cook's in back like "whoops... we forgot your order". She tells me that its almost done so we anxiously wait. About 10 minutes later my food comes out. I check the time and we have about 20 minutes left before lunch is over. It took 40 minutes for me to get my take-out order. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. If you want to order bubble/thai tea or grab a pre-packaged meal, then this place is the place to go. The one star is ONLY cus the staff was nice. The restaurant was absolutely disgusting. The food was Bland and extremely basic at best. My boyfriend ordered the vegetable pho and there was a green bug in his soup. Other tables had dirty plates on the tables and trash on the floors. We didnt even use the high chairs they have available because they were so dusty and sticky at the same time. They remade my boyfriends food, but of course we were grossed out and over the experience, we pushed the food around on our plates for a little longer then left. The food here is so good! Only thing is that the soups are ordered from inside, not the drive through. I assume that they don't want to burn people's laps with their hot soups.
