First time here, and considering the high ratings, I had pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was a little disappointing. We waited about 10 minutes just to order our drinks, and the service overall was pretty slow. I ordered the pancake combo, and while the food was okay, both the eggs and pancake seemed undercooked. We also weren't really checked on while eating to see if we needed anything, such as extra condiments or refills. After finishing, we waited over 10 minutes for the check, but no one came by, so we eventually had to walk up to the front to pay. Overall, I was disappointed with both the food and the service. I probably wouldn't recommend it based on this experience, but I'm willing to consider that they may have just been overly busy that day. read more

Arriving to the cafe we were greeted from the moment we walked in and got seated fairly quickly. We sat outside where they played some oldies, which was a plus because I loved the music of choice. The food was pretty good, the potatoes could use more flavor but overall the food was tasteful. The only complaint I have would be the 3.5% charge to use a card, so definitely will bring cash next time and no refills of drinks. They served bottle of waters and cans of sodas. My cousin and her boyfriend took me to this spot, and I have to admit -- the food and service were absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the aesthetic. It's simple but full of character, featuring cholo-style artwork inspired by Blood In, Blood Out, along with actor signatures that give the place a cool, authentic vibe. We were able to sit back, enjoy great company, and have an even better meal. The kids loved the breakfast burrito, waffles, and the classic breakfast plates. I ordered the chorizo omelette, and it did not disappoint -- generous chunks of perfectly cooked chorizo throughout. You can truly taste that everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The country fried steak is incredible as well -- definitely worth trying. There's plenty of parking, including street parking since the restaurant sits on a corner. I ordered the waffle country fried steak and it was incredibly soft, tender, and comforting--perfectly cooked and easy to eat. The potatoes were exactly how breakfast potatoes should be: crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The French toast was also amazing--golden, flavorful, and perfectly indulgent. Found Georges cafe while on my morning dog walk. I was greeted by the server and she took me out to the patio to find a table. Many good selections on the menu for breakfast and i opted for the weekday special of sausage breakfast tacos. It comes with 3 scrambled egg and sausage tacos and a side of green chili salsa for 10.95 . It was just the right size and tasted great! I also ordered a coffee, but unfortunately it was luke warm, even when she topped it off. Service was fantastic! Amazing atmosphere, super interesting theme all from a local artist. Got here early on a Wednesday and talked with George about the art and his long experience in the food industry. He was kind and showed us around. The food showed up after we were done touring the art inside and outside of the restaurant. It was amazing. I lived in San Diego for a while and moved to Texas. I've missed the breakfast burritos so much, our tacos are no competition unfortunately. His breakfast burrito was amazing. My wife had the Greek omelette and it was delicious. The crust is subtly sweet, and the thin meat is hot and flavorful. It's not greasy. Rather, the portion is filling. Next, the potatoes are fresh and tasty; it's crispy outside and soft inside. Yum! The country gravy is also comforting and well-seasoned. Unfortunately, the eggs (I selected scrambled) are underwhelming. The scrambled eggs are salty, flat, mushy, and small. Regarding the location, George's Cafe is very clean. It's well ventilated, and the server is friendly and helpful. For example, the server had forgotten that I chose scrambled eggs; however, when asked, he immediately apologized and quickly fixed the order. [George's Cafe Notes] 1. Last Saturday, I tried George's Cafe for the first time. I ordered the veggie omelette with bacon, and after a couple of bites I noticed there was no cheese on my omelette. I called the restaurant, and the employee who answered apologized and put me on hold to speak with the manager. When she came back, she told me they would replace the entire order at no charge. I thanked her and explained that I wouldn't be able to come back that day. She said that was fine and that I could come in anytime during the week and ask for the manager. I specifically mentioned that I would likely come in on Tuesday, June 2nd. On Tuesday, I called the restaurant regarding the replacement omelette. The person who answered was very unprofessional. He questioned why an entire omelette would be replaced just because it was missing cheese and even started chuckling and laughing. At that point, I said never mind. He then asked who I had spoken with previously, and when I gave him the employee's name, he started laughing again. My husband and I went to the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager. It turned out that the manager/owner was the same person I had spoken with on the phone. He then tried to backtrack, saying he was only laughing because their plates cost around $20 and that he would have offered a 10% to 20% discount, not a replacement. It also seemed like he was about to throw the employee who originally helped us under the bus. Throughout the conversation, he kept speaking over us while we were trying to explain what had happened. My husband eventually had to call him out and ask him to stop interrupting so we could explain the situation. The issue was never the missing cheese or the free omelette. The issue was the customer service and attitude. He was rude, dismissive, and showed no accountability for the situation. At that point, we left the receipt on the counter and walked away. We both ordered cafe de olla which came out hot, but it was very sweet with nothing added but creamer half/half. We ordered and our food came out quickly, I ordered the chilaquiles with no onions. My son a steak and eggs breakfast. No pictures this time, but my son chomped his plate down. I had requested light sauce and crunchy chips. The plates were a good serving, but my chips were soggy so ate the potatoes and a little egg and I was done. We waited and waited more, so I guess they forgot about us. My son went inside to ask for more coffee and a small order of pancakes. The service was slightly off, the food was good, but the music...Ayyy, too tooooo loud! I've heard so much about this place- my friend and I stopped by to try it out- First impression is always important- Place was empty and it was minutes before lunch time- place itself was clean but seemed to be too much going on- place filled with murals and pictures of actors from the movie Blood in Blood out and 50's music playing. Waitress seemed to be the only one working I overheard her say she was the owners sister. She came by and explained that all their drinks were bottled only- including water- Menu itself was large with a wide variety except not enough Mexican food. It's primarily American food. I ordered chicken fried steak with eggs over easy- when plate was brought to table eggs were clearly overcooked - more like eggs overcooked. Oh and I was told my plate did NOT come with toast I can order it separately. Almost every restaurant I've been to offers toast with chicken fried steak. My friend thought his burrito was "ok" I asked him what he thought of the place and he said it's not at all what he expected. As I was leaving I noticed a sign they will be having a meet and greet with one of the actors from blood in blood out. They are charging $10 Like whaaaat?? Does those $10 include food ?
