Came with my boyfriend and it was our first time at George's Cafe. The entire meal and coffee were delicious! Our server was very friendly and attentive with us. She allowed us to stay a little longer because of the World Cup Game. (Big Thank You!!) An experience I won't forget, my compliments to the chef as well!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance and culture were also a pleasant touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be back soon!! Thank you!!!

My daughter and I found this place looking for breakfast. Definitely different didn't expect a themed cafe but it was cool. Especially if you're into this sort of genre. Lots of movie vibes great murals though out the restaurant We were greeted right away by a gentleman and sat inside wasn't to busy Gave us the menu we ordered our drinks Looked over everything and decided what we would have I got the vegetables omelette added avocado portion was a good size and my daughter got the chilaquiles burrito it was on the smaller side, Food was good service was good was a bit expensive but I would recommend this place for breakfast.

Wrong advertisement. I've order chicken and waffle and got sausage and waffle. Seriously?? This is not right. I didn't even like the taste because I was expecting chicken.

George's Cafe is a local hotspot eatery that offer foodies traditional meals (breakfast/brunch) in a cozy and welcoming dining experience. It's located on a tiny plaza at 522 E Vine Ave in West Covina. Customers have an option of seating in their rear outdoor patio with street view as well as indoor. Throughout the cafe's interior decor you'll see some iconic cultural figures and the beautiful Virgen de Guadalupe. Their menu has a wide variety of breakfast (American & Mexican) items. I came early morning and ordered a Cafe de Olla and a Veggie Omelette. Both were just okay-typical coffee and breakfast. Service was mildly slow because they only have 1 male server working in that morning. And customer started to pour in at 08:45 am. I can see he's struggling taking orders. I almost wanted to assist the male server and start taking customers' orders and inquiries. lol. Atmosphere was good. Prices were fair that reflects the quality and quantity of the food or drinks offered. Staff were competent and affable. Overall, this cafe is modest that offers a Mexican home cooked meal. I think there are area in their business that can be improved.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Amazing atmosphere, super interesting theme all from a local artist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got here early on a Wednesday and talked with George about the art and his long experience in the food industry. He was kind and showed us around. The food showed up after we were done touring the art inside and outside of the restaurant. It was amazing. I lived in San Diego for a while and moved to Texas. I've missed the breakfast burritos so much, our tacos are no competition unfortunately. His breakfast burrito was amazing. My wife had the Greek omelette and it was delicious. I highly recommend checking them out and supporting their business if you have the opportunity.

George's Cafe in West Covina deserves every bit of five stars! The inside has such a throwback to 80-90s homie style, welcoming vibe, but it's also really beautiful and cozy at the same time. I ordered the waffle country fried steak and it was incredibly soft, tender, and comforting--perfectly cooked and easy to eat. The potatoes were exactly how breakfast potatoes should be: crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The French toast was also amazing--golden, flavorful, and perfectly indulgent. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to! The service was great super friendly.

Found Georges cafe while on my morning dog walk. I was greeted by the server and she took me out to the patio to find a table. Many good selections on the menu for breakfast and i opted for the weekday special of sausage breakfast tacos. It comes with 3 scrambled egg and sausage tacos and a side of green chili salsa for 10.95 . It was just the right size and tasted great! I also ordered a coffee, but unfortunately it was luke warm, even when she topped it off. Service was fantastic! I got my tacos within 5 minutes of order. The walls are airbrushed with colorful Latino culture artwork. I'll come back to try more of the menu.

My family and I had breakfast here for our first time with my mentor it was a lovely and whole experience-- the waitress was so honest and kind with the recommendations. The food was dank; I ordered the menudo and Benedict. I appreciate the environment and the hospitality! It's worth the try and wait! Thank you, we will be back here

So do with that as you will. Locals must think this is good food. Located in a tiny corner strip mall on a desolate street is this little breakfast/brunch place. I wish I had listened to the 1 star reviews and not gone in. I especially wish I had seen that Yelp had their health listing rated at C before I ordered. Isn't it the law that a restaurant must display their health rating in the window, cause it wasn't displayed anywhere to be seen. So first they brought out a large jug of water with some fruit slices and mint in it. Would've been nice if the water wasn't room temperature. Is the ice machine not working? Then came the best part of the entire meal - my hazelnut latte. The coffee was good and the cup is gigantic. My teen had the french toast, eggs (scrambled), and bacon plate. The one slice of french toast was okay but nothing special. The eggs were bland and lacking any seasoning including salt and pepper. The bacon, of which I got a side for myself, too, was absolutely disgusting. At first I thought the bacon had been cooked possibly on a dirty grill in old grease or right after something else had been cooked, as it had a horrendous aftertaste like rotten meat and sweaty gym socks. They made a new plate but this one was raw, despite being ordered well done and crispy. Raw. And it absolutely stunk. That was when I came to think it might be uncured pork belly like you get a Korean KBBQ and not bacon at all. Luckily they cancelled the order. I also got a side of the breakfast (rosemary) potatoes, which I also ordered crispy and well done but arrived as a scoop of mush. They tasted okay but I saw crispy potatoes at numerous other tables. Don't know why they couldn't cook as ordered. I also had the dutch baby. I'm sorry but this is a dessert bread pudding and not a real dutch baby pancake. The inside should be airy and fluffy, not sopping wet. I'm not sure if the inside was undercooked and possibly raw dough or if they make it with some sweetened cream inside. It was not good, and it was way too sweet. Instant diabetes sweet. I will never go back. I strongly recommend that all people stay as far away as possible. The service was good - friendly and attentive, but what good is that when the food is so awful? I also had severe stabbing pains in my stomach for a couple hours after getting home. Avoid at all costs!

We paired our meals with refreshing sago't gulaman, made with tapioca pearls, sweet syrup, and Filipino-style gelatin. It was the perfect sweet, icy finish. Customer service was great from start to finish. Staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Pang Inasal did not disappoint, and we'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. It's a large-ish space, and I guess kind of like a sit-down place (not "turo-turo/cafeteria style like some Filipino joints), with a ton of Filipino snacks on the counter. Plenty of seats that have seen better days. A portion of the restaurant is covered in plastic to house some construction equipment ? I asked for the pork sisig ala carte and decided to add an order of kalderetang kambing and 2c of rice. Big mistake buying more than one entree when you are taking it home and have no clue how their food tastes. I trusted Yelp too much. . Sisig had a 1:1 ratio of meat to bell peppers. I also couldn't help but feel lile the peppers were undercooked, even raw. Maybe that was their style, but I also disliked the mayo on top. Now the kalderetang kambing had a strange fishy (gamey) smell in the car. When I tried it at home, the meat looked so red and tasted way too sweet, not at all like the Kalderetas I'm used to back home. The meat was falling off the bone soft though. This is my problem with Filipino restaurants in the US - if they can't make dishes better tasting than what I make at home (i rarely cook but im a good eater), I cannot rate them high at all. I've eaten too much Filipino food in my life to know what tastes good. I feel bad because the folks who work here/(owners?) are pretty nice and they were working on Valentines. But the current rating they have is misleading. If you're going for the big entrees like I did, and are used to Gerry's Grill type sisig, prepare to be disappointed. Yelp, you did not come thru for me this time.
