However, BMW's new policy doesn't allow customers to bring their own parts (even if they're BMW genuine, brand new in box, unopened with receipt and same p/n). Because of this, I use a BMW indie specialists to install and save money. I'm not going to pay a markup on the same exact genuine OE parts I can get cheaper. read more

I scheduled to come see a 2016 bmw 228 convertible on Tuesday. Drove over 1 hour to get there to find out that the car was not drivable bc they were fixing the display. I was told that they were going to prep it so that I could test drive. I shared I could only come back on Thursday. They said they would confirm that the car would be ready Wednesday night. I've been a loyal client for the past few years at the service center. As usual decided to take my car in for an oil change. So to make a long story short, they tell me I need my engine mounted and my spark plugs changed so of course I decide to do this because I trust them. A few weeks after I paid about $2400 or so for all of this my car starts acting up. I take it back because my oil light and engine light come on, paid about $285 for diagnostics only to be told that I do not know how to screw on an oil cap and that they found nothing wrong with my car. As a woman I do not trust the service center! To make a long story short, they made me feel like an idiot. Mind you I don't get upset easily, I always try and look for a way to settle things before they escalate. They put on cheap spark plugs and not the factory recommended ones. instead of just settling the problem and admitting to it they wanted to make me look like an idiot and won't admit to their wrong doing accusing me of maybe getting my spark plugs changed elsewhere because the spark plugs that were put in they do not carry there or maybe wherever I took it decided to change the spark plugs! Why would any repair shop take their time to change the spark plugs and not charge me for new ones? Doesn't make sense right? And why would I want to even change the spark plugs when I just had them done?I spoke to the service director Paul Brewer, who I thought at the moment was actually listening to me but apparently he wasn't. All I wanted was to get reimbursed for all the problems I had after all my repairs with them , I was still going to be a loyal client had they listened to me. Paul called me a few days later and He offered me about $250 for the spark plugs but he really wasn't listening to me. I've spend over $2000 just trying to figure out the problem. Anyways I'm incredibly upset at how something so simple could've been handled better. This isn't over, it's just the beginning. A simple solution was just made worse. Thank you bmw of Long Beach, don't trust them! you just lost a loyal client. I'm super disappointed in bmw of Long Beach but on a great note I found an honest shop! I've owned four BMWs, but Long Beach BMW has ended my relationship with the brand. I bought my X5 directly from Long Beach and loved the car. But as soon as my extended BMW Certified warranty expired, a headlight malfunction warning popped up--even though the headlights worked perfectly. I just wanted the annoying warning light turned off so I could be on my way. My local BMW service department quoted $4,000 to fix it, which is outrageous for something that still functions. When I reached out to BMW USA for help, they told me to go back to Long Beach, where I'd bought the car. I expected some support. I was a loyal customer, the headlights were clearly working, and I wasn't asking for a free fix--just to clear a false warning. That's not what happened. The service advisor looked irritated the moment I explained the issue. He rolled his eyes, then told me--condescendingly--to show him. When I did, and the lights clearly worked as intended, he said I was imagining it. He tried to gaslight me, even though my local dealer had already confirmed the adaptive headlights were functional. Then he laughed and told me I never should've bought a BMW--especially not second-hand. He doubled the estimate, saying I now needed both headlights replaced. The new total? $10,000 with labor. For headlights that work. When I pushed back on how insane that sounded, he told me they could inspect it for $300--but made it clear it would just confirm the $10,000 fix. "Do you want to do that? Do you? Do you?" he said, almost tauntingly. I've never been treated with such disrespect--not just as a customer, but as a person. All I wanted was help with a false warning light. Instead, I was belittled and pushed into a ridiculous upsell. That was the last straw. I'm done. I'll never buy another BMW. read more

Extremely Disappointing Service and Unprofessionalism at BMW Long Beach I have been a loyal BMW customer for over 14 years, owning five different BMWs during that time. Unfortunately, my recent experiences with BMW Long Beach have been nothing short of appalling. I first brought my 2022 BMW 330e to BMW Long Beach a year ago to address a persistent mildew smell in my AC. I was assured that a simple spray treatment would resolve the issue. However, less than a week later, the smell returned just as strong. When I brought it back, I was told that a "deep cleaning" would be required--at an additional cost of $350. I found this unacceptable, especially since I have never experienced such an issue with any of my previous BMWs. If BMW is aware that this is a recurring problem, why aren't customers informed earlier? Breathing in mildew particles is clearly a health hazard, and I would have acted immediately had I been aware of the risks, rather than be hit with an unexpected charge. On top of this, I was advised during my first visit that my front tire was damaged and that my rear tires needed replacing. As this is a lease vehicle, I am required to use OEM tires, which made it all the more shocking when I learned that the OEM tires provided by BMW were so substandard that BMW had stopped selling them. Despite this being BMW's mistake, I was forced to pay approximately $1,400 for new tires--a financial burden that I should not have had to bear. Fast forward to August 27, 2024, when I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change. My car had recently been throwing multiple codes and had failed to start on several occasions. I was provided a loaner vehicle by John Clark, during which time we inspected the vehicle and noted damage to the rims on the front driver's and passenger's sides. John Clark assured me this was already noted, so I went about my business and returned the vehicle to the dealership the next day as instructed. However, shortly after returning the loaner, I received a call from Chelsea Baraga, informing me that I had not returned the vehicle properly and that there was now a bubble on one of the tires, for which I would be charged $350. I was understandably upset, as I had followed the exact instructions provided by my service advisor, Gilbert Lucero. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, Fred Thornton, I was met with resistance and unprofessionalism. Multiple calls were ignored, and on several occasions, the phone was picked up only to be immediately hung up. After several attempts, I finally reached Fred Thornton, who offered no resolution other than to insist that the charge was my responsibility. To make matters worse, I have yet to receive the photos of the alleged tire damage, which I requested from both Chelsea Baraga and Fred Thornton, nor have I been provided with the images taken by John Clark during our initial inspection of the vehicle. I am utterly disgusted by the lack of professionalism, communication, and fairness exhibited by BMW Long Beach. This experience has tainted my otherwise positive relationship with the BMW brand, and I will not be returning to this dealership. I strongly urge BMW Corporate to investigate the practices at BMW Long Beach, as this level of service is completely unacceptable and not what I have come to expect from a luxury brand. I had a terrible experience at this dealer. I called to make sure my wheel and tire package was still effective because i had found nails in my tires. The guy that answered said yes and set up an appointment for me. I showed up and told them I had a 9am appointment. I was assisted by Bertha and she called over the tire specialist.  Everything was going well. She even noticed i was due for an oil change and noticed it would be no charge because my husband had already prepaid for the oil changes until 2025. Thats when she noticed that Steven Smithson had answered the call so they walked me over to him and he continued to help me. As soon as he started to help me he said i needed and alignment and the two tires in the back as well as an oil change. I said okay to everything except the alignment. I declined the alignment and told him to call my husband because my husband wanted to know more about the tires. He never called my husband. He agreed and I got a loaner and left. When my husband went to pick up the car Steven tried charging him more than $1300 dollars for my two tires that were under warranty and for an oil change that had already been paid for. I did not pick up my own car because I was in the hospital and had just delivered my baby. My husband refused to pay because it should have only been a $50 copay. Steven threatened to take the tires off my car. My husband told him to go ahead and take them off since he was not going to pay for something that should be covered.  Steven was very rude to my husband. He kept telling him that it was my fault because i never told him it was under warranty. When indeed he did know because he answered our call the day before and he should have checked. He is the worst service advisor we have ever had to deal with. Steven was rude and should not be helping customers especially if he is going to be blaming them for his mistakes.  If he doesn't know how to do his job maybe he should be reassigned to a different area. He is arrogant and rude. I wonder if he is rude to all his customers or just certain ones. In addition when my husband picked up the car the next day it was not washed and the tires looked dirty. Every other time i have picked up my car from getting serviced, it is washed and ready for pick up. I thought i took my car to the dealership not a mom and pop shop. read more

I got one of the best deals for a 3 series here. I got 15K miles a year on a 3 year lease under $400 (Reza isn't there anymore but he hooked it up). I was nervous about the charges I was going to have returning the vehicle but I got it checked before I turned it in so I knew what to expect. I unfortunately had to pay for this crack in the windshield ($600) and also a small scratch on the front bumper ($400) and there's $350 fee if you don't get another BMW. Just had a 2022 740i delivered to me through a broker, sold from LB BMW, and delivered by a Long Beach BMW employee. 1. They misrepresented the number of miles on the car. No big deal. 2. The car navigation wouldn't work when I drove it home. I programmed all the settings, let it sit overnight, thinking it'll download a map or something. After another couple drives, navigation wouldn't load at all. So I called BMW Assist and the rep immediately, within seconds, says "oh yes, it's a common problem. You just need to take it to BMW service for them to reset and reprogram the navigation." REALLY? Get a brand new car FROM THE DEALER with faulty navigation that just had to be reset and reprogrammed, but the delaerahip who sold it wouldn't do it on their own? When you're selling a hudred-thousand dollar car, have the courtesy to make sure the most important technology piece in it works, especially when your own driver drives it 30+ miles to deliver it, and then misrepresents the mileage on it! I ordered a vehicle through this dealership and on the day of delivery (after the salesperson called me the day before to set up delivery details) they feed me the dumbest story about how BMW shipped an entirely different vehicle to them and they didn't catch it until the last second. So these guys will not only sell your reserved car from under you if they get a better offer that walks through the door, they'll also treat you like a fool and completely blow you off and pretend you don't exist after they completely fail to deliver an order. This dealership is the reason I'm selling my BMW. Every single service appointment has been a disappointment. The service advisors always do work that wasn't asked for. This last time I got charged $750 for a 12 V battery. I would normally be able to do the 12 V battery myself for $150, but they block it with special programming that only they can do. Please please stay away from the sales department they are incompetent and if you don't fill out the questionnaire after if you fall victim to buying or leasing Vehicle , they will yell at you for not giving them high marks.
