I have had bad experiences in the past, but working with DONYA recently to buy out my lease was the BEST EXPERIENCE I've had with Honda. SHE SPOKE TO ME LIKE I WAS A HUMAN, not just a sale walking through the door. We had a great conversation for about 20 mins before we even started talking about my car. Once we got into the buy-out process, everything was communicated amazingly, and she did everything she could to make sure I left happy (which I did). THEY CRACKED MY WINDSHIELD--AND THEN CALLED ME A LIAR. I took my car to Long Beach Honda for an A/C repair. At 4:05 PM, I received a text saying my vehicle was ready for pickup. When I arrived, however, I was told it would be at least another hour. Apparently, the text had been sent by an AI and not by an actual employee. Around 5:50 PM, I watched an employee pull my car out of the service garage. Instead of bringing it to the customer pickup area like every other vehicle, they drove it around the block and parked it in a customer lot on the far side of the dealership. At 5:55PM, as the service department was closing, they finally handed me my keys. I asked why my car had been left so far away when every other customer's vehicle had been brought directly to the pickup area. They insisted this was completely normal. When I reached my car, I discovered that my windshield had been cracked. Unfortunately, the service department had already closed for the day. I returned the following morning to report the damage, but they immediately denied responsibility, insisted the crack must have happened somewhere else, and even implied that I was being dishonest. And they are offered to give me a quote price to replace then windshield they damaged. Total scumbags!! I had specifically requested time off from work for this appointment under the impression that my prepaid service package could be used at any Honda dealership. It was only during my visit that Christian Ramos informed me that the package was valid only at dealerships under the same ownership group, specifically Pasadena and Alhambra. This limitation was never made clear to me at the time of purchase. While I understand that dealership policies vary, it was frustrating to learn this after scheduling my day around the appointment and arriving expecting to use a service plan I believed was accepted throughout the Honda network. When I expressed my frustration, I initially felt there was little empathy regarding the situation. As someone who has remained loyal to the Honda brand through three vehicle purchases, I expected a greater level of understanding and customer support. Christian eventually explained that his dealership does not engage in those sales practices and that employees who did so had been removed. When my vehicle was ready, the only notification I received was an automated text message while I was waiting in the adjacent customer lounge. At other Honda dealerships, I have typically received a phone call, an announcement, or a personal update from a service advisor. The lack of personal communication further contributed to what felt like a very impersonal experience. The salesperson also dragged out my request for a breakdown of the costs so I could present everything to my credit union. I ended up sitting in the lobby for over an hour without any updates or check-ins. I purchased my Civic Sí in May '25 and the experience was easy, but I definitely overpaid. However, I got exactly what I wanted and it was still cheaper than comparable models from Toyota, Kia, and Hyundai. I had my first oil change and tire rotation service done at 3,240 miles while at 30% oil life from the vehicle maintenance monitor. I arrived 35 minutes prior to my appointment and waited about 10 minutes before getting checked in. The service was completed in roughly 90 minutes, which was amazing. Lilly was my service advisor; she did an excellent job updating me during the inspection and called once service was finished. I have made multiple attempts to speak with the finance manager regarding my concerns and have not received a callback. I left my name and number with Isaac, explained the issue several times, was repeatedly placed on hold, and ultimately disconnected. My primary concern is that my credit appears to have been run without my authorization. I have already contacted the credit bureaus and requested information regarding the inquiries, including who accessed my credit and when the inquiries occurred. I do not feel that my concerns have been taken seriously. I am requesting a prompt response from management to address this matter and provide an explanation regarding the credit inquiries. We bought three NEW vehicles from this dealership in the past, just recently bought another NEW Honda Pilot in June 2026. We buy Honda vehicles because they are more superior than Toyota in quality and electronic technology. To be honest the recent transaction didn't go as smooth as previous transactions. But we came in and they corrected everything to our satisfaction. They do have good deals and will work with you but you have to be careful and check out every numbers and have everything in writing and review everything before you sign anything. You don't have to buy any Optional services like Paint protection, Service Contract, Aftermarkets add on.... They are optional items. But all the dealerships are going to push them on you. The first was when I was shopping to buy my CRV. Passed after the greasy pomade haired, pin-striped suit, pointy shoes sales manager tried to pressure me into his extremely "time-limited" finance offer by telling me that I was somehow less of a man for wanting my wife's opinion on the offer. Great sales pitch Snidely Whiplash. My credit union got me a deal without his $7000 down payment and his "amazing" deal of paying off my current car... the cost was going to added to my total. Not much of a deal. And the sales guy kept hounding me with phone calls after to come in to sign on to the "amazing" deal. I'm pretty sure I blocked his number to stop the calls. The second bad experience was when the service agent recommended me to MCC Collision in Dominguez Hills for honda authorized repair. That little recommendation, which I'm sure the service agent got commission from, cost $16K for a rear-end collision. I actually feel bad for the other guy's insurance. Plus, it took a month and half which ended up with me paying $800 out of pocket for car rental fees which I'm sure won't be reimbursed because the facility was not certified by my insurance company. I was cold-called by this dealership about turning in my 2024 Honda Prologue lease early. I have been a Honda lease customer for roughly 25 years, have excellent credit, and my Prologue has only about 8,000 miles and is in excellent condition. When I came in, the first offer they presented was approximately $699/month with $1,999 down. After asking for the numbers without my trade, it became clear that the structure was essentially rolling the negative equity from my current Prologue lease into a new lease rather than creating a genuinely beneficial early trade-in opportunity. My concern, and anyone who comes to this dealership should also be made aware, is that I was brought in under the impression that there might be a helpful early lease option, but the numbers presented would have put me into another bad lease situation. Their whole strategy in calling me to come in was to rope me into another bad deal. I left feeling that the dealership was more interested in getting another transaction than helping a long-term Honda customer make a financially sound decision. Consumers should be very careful here. Unfortunately, this is one of those cases. One of my rare 1 star review. This review focuses on an extremely disappointing customer service experience at Honda of Long Beach, specifically involving Service Advisor Earnest Selma III and Service Manager John Pill. (Note: This is not a reflection of the service technicians or the Honda company) The Experience: My family member had scheduled a service appointment several days in advance. She arrived on time and followed the usual process, including being shuttled to a nearby shopping center while waiting on a diagnosis. That's when the problems began: She attempted to contact the service department multiple times over the span of 5 hours. Despite eight phone call attempts to the service department, no one answered or returned her calls. Frustrated and concerned, she returned to the dealership in person to get a status update.She asked basic questions: Does the vehicle need repairs? What's the cost? How long will it take? Instead of receiving helpful information, she was met with condescension and dismissiveness from John Pill (Service Manager). During the conversation, he called her "obnoxious" and "hot headed", refusing to provide clear updates or professional communication. She called me at that point for advice. I then spoke directly with John, hoping to calmly clarify the situation. Unfortunately, he doubled down on his behavior, initially refusing to speak with me, and then becoming combative and inconsistent with the facts once he did. I informed him that we'll be reporting the incident to the Better Business Bureau and the Bureau of Automotive Repair, to which he sarcastically responded, "Yeah, you do that." After finally confirming the vehicle had been repaired, we collected it hoping the work itself wasn't as poor as the customer service. We'll also most definitely be contacting the General Manager. Final Thoughts: Our family had been loyal Honda of Long Beach customers for years. That stops now. We won't be returning -- and we'll encourage others to seek service elsewhere. Manipulative, deceptive, and unhelpful. I took my car here for an alignment and I mentioned that my steering wheel had felt weird lately, so they ran a diagnostic on my car. A mechanic named Brandon (employee number is 626) reported failure of the rack and pinion (part of the steering system) and that it needed to be replaced, which they said would cost me over $4,000. The person I spoke to (Michael, Service Advisor) said that they were willing to "give me a deal" for about $3,800 instead. I decided to take my car to an independent mechanic instead for a second opinion, but Honda still required a payment of $225 for the diagnostic fee. I took my car to an independent mechanic (who I know through a family friend, so I know this person is trustworthy) and the diagnostic came back completely fine. I was told that there was nothing wrong with my car's rack and pinion and that it was driving fine. I was so confused as to why Honda told me something was wrong if nothing was actually wrong, so I called customer service, filed a complaint, and requested a reimbursement of the $225 diagnostic fee, because it was not correct. Honda refused to reimburse me the $225, and when I asked for clarification of what issue they actually found during the diagnostic, they proceeded to contradict themselves trying to explain. They said that "the issue was't coming from the rack and pinion itself, but somewhere else in the system" and "the diagnostic came back clear, but the mechanic heard sounds coming from the rack and pinion". Vague statements like these don't carry any real validity, and it makes me wonder why on earth they told me that 1) my rack and pinion was on the brink of failure and 2) my car was not safe to drive. They deliberately tried to scare me into paying $4,000 for nothing, which is pretty slimy. I would encourage anyone and everyone to seek car services elsewhere, I personally will never be returning. read more

Brought my wife's 2019 HRV here for an engine oil, transmission oil and brake fluid change. The service staff were friendly and helpful. Pricing was fair for the amount of work performed and they finished the car in a timely manner since I was waiting for it. My only complaint is they unplugged my dashcam while performing the work which and failed to plug it back in which is a little shady to me but overall the work was performed well. I'm extremely frustrated to find myself dealing with the same issues with this location again, three years later and experiencing the exact same lack of communication and efficiency. Today, I spent the entire day trying to get assistance. I initially spoke with the Service department, who transferred me to Sales. Sales then instructed me to call back after 10:30 AM to speak with Finance. When I finally reached Finance, I was told that someone would review my paperwork and call me back within the hour. That call never came. I followed up over 2.5 hours later than the promised callback time only to be placed on hold, briefly speak with someone, be placed on hold again, and then transferred yet again. It's incredibly disappointing that after all this time, the process still involves excessive transfers, long hold times, and no follow-through. Customers should not have to spend their entire day chasing answers or repeating themselves just to get basic assistance. This is the same pattern I experienced years ago, and it's unacceptable that nothing seems to have improved. Cooper was my service advisor, and he was professional, friendly, and informative. He accurately estimated that the work would take about two hours or less, which was super helpful! I was very pleased that the recall work for my fuel pump was completed so quickly--under two hours. This was especially great since I was just outside the range for a courtesy ride home if the wait had been longer. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service I received. Most dealerships and service centers tend to push for additional services or accessories, but Cooper was neither aggressive nor pushy. I am beyond disappointed with this Honda dealership and will never be returning. Even when you make an appointment, the wait times are ridiculous and the staff is not attentive at all. I recently brought my car in because of an error message that appeared on my dashboard. After inspecting it, they told me I needed a new brake switch and charged me close to $600 for the repair. I trusted their diagnosis and paid for the service, assuming the issue was fixed. Less than two months later, the exact same error message came back on. I took my car back in, only to find out the part they charged me for was NEVER actually replaced the first time. They admitted it and only then changed the part two months later. That is completely unacceptable. Not only is this dishonest, but it is also unsafe. Brakes are not something you make mistakes about. Charging customers for repairs that were never completed is appalling and feels like blatant fraud. As a young woman, I genuinely felt taken advantage of and dismissed the entire process. They have tried to sell changing my engine air filter and cabin air filters for hundreds of dollars every single time ive gone for an oil change to make a quick buck off of something that is literally 40-60 bucks for a less than 5 minute task. Ive even tested them going in with new air filters replaced a week before and they STILL tried to say they were bad. If they lie about shit like this, im pretty sure they lie about everything else to catch people they know arent going to know the difference. I made the mistake of buying a Honda SRV here. The hard sell disrespectful pressure was terrible. I was talked into a bunch of overpriced warranties. The promises that were made were not kept. They refused to give me a copy of the paperwork. I received a recall notice about problem with the steering and its installation. It could have failed and it could have caused injury or death. They were not even aware of that. I did not think the steering was good before I received the recall notice. They refused to give me a free loaner car when I was concerned about the repair when they were unaware of the problem and did not have the parts. That could be a major lawsuit against them if I had been in an accident. All I can say is that Long Beach Honda is not part of the helpful Honda guys. Service department was so busy & I had an appointment. I've even heard somebody that worked there saying or their speaker to someone else that there's too many cars coming in. Saw all those people that went that day probably didn't get their cars fixed because mine was definitely not looked at. I don't even think they fixed the compressor like they were supposed to under warranty. I have a feeling they just put Freon in it I'm going to go somewhere else. I drove two hours because this is where I bought my car to get them looked at. When I left there were no fluids in my car at all! I had no oil in my car and there was a metal zip tie on my battery. Which was not there before! I had to buy a new piece after my battery died a few days later. So sounds to me like something happened they probably broke something and they put the zip tie. And either case they didn't see that it was there and my mechanic was shocked when he saw it. So it wasn't from us. Not to mention the fact that all diagnostics were checked off as good. The car literally had no fluids in it. So I was driving around with no oil in my car! Now I have a oil leak that we can't determine and I've been driving around on and off with oil leaking and putting more oil in it since then. My car did not have any issues before going there to get the compressor replaced! I would never come here again and I'm going to be pursuing action. read more

When I arrived, I asked for Armando like he was a celebrity. And let me tell you, he didn't disappoint! My experience with Manuel Villalobos, the financial advisor that worked with us through the formal paperwork when we purchased our vehicle from Long Beach Honda, was an absolute nightmare. My wife and I felt taken advantage of and disrespected by his lack of professionalism, arrogance and sales tactic. I highly advise that upper management review the video footage of our interaction with him in his office mid-morning on 2/24/25 as a prime example of how not to treat customers for future training purposes. We were ready to take our cashiers check and walk out of the office because he absolutely repulsed us. I have no desire to purchase any future vehicles from this dealership if he will be part of the process. I also strongly encourage that you always check that all components of the vehicle are present and in working order at the time you purchase it. I purchased a HondaTrue Certified vehicle with 5k miles that was missing the second row floor mats, rear entertainment system remote and headphone sets and the rear passenger tire had a cut in the sidewall. They replaced the tire later that day. I had to contact Honda corporate to gain any traction for the other items because I was being given the runaround. Worst car buying experience ever at this location. We came in as serious buyers with a pre-approval from our credit union, ready to finalize the deal. Unfortunately, the staff insisted on running our credit despite the fact that it wasn't necessary given our pre-approval. Throughout the visit, the team was unprofessional and overly pushy. They kept coming back with inconsistent and misleading numbers, which made the process feel dishonest and uncomfortable. Ultimately, we chose to walk away because we didn't want to do business with people who were clearly more focused on pressure tactics than customer service. I contacted Long Beach Honda regarding a potential deal for one of my clients on a new 2025 Honda Pilot AWD Trailsport in the color combo of Platinum White Pearl with Black Interior about 4 days ago. My initial conversations via calling/text messages were through David N. (GM) and his management staff- the main contact person was Carlos in Sales. After notifying him of my clients car needs/terms and an offer or two that I received from LA Area dealerships- he presented an appealing offer from him and the desk manager on duty. It was a very competitive offer from the other Honda dealers along with some options/accessories that in totality made the potential deal- more appealing to my client at no additional cost to her. She also went ahead and purchased a HondaCare Vehicle Service Contract at a significant price reduction compared to other local dealerships- granted it's not my money but I always suggest my clients purchase only OEM Vehicle Service Contracts and she took my advice- she took the longest available contract- "D82- 8 yrs/120k- Zero Deductible". She plans to keep this vehicle for awhile- so she has this and since she's local- she'll be both purchasing parts and/or doing her service needs to support local businesses at her selling dealer- Long Beach Honda. 30+ Years of Loyalty -- Now Disappointed I've trusted this service department for over 30 years, but my last visit was frustrating. After bringing in my CR-V for an oil change and A/C inspection, I got an email about a cabin filter replacement. Called three times for the price -- no answer twice, third call dropped after being sent to a full voicemail box. Then I received a text asking to approve the filter replacement, which I did -- not realizing earlier texts (buried above) included other costly recommendations like four tire replacements and throttle body service. Poor communication, unanswered calls, and a full voicemail box are not what I expect from a service department I've trusted for decades. Update/Clarification: I'm the young woman (24) mentioned in another review about John Pill and Ernest Selma. I want to share my side of the story to clear up any confusion and explain exactly what happened during my visit. I had a 9:45 AM appointment and arrived at 9:43. I wasn't checked in until about 10:00, which was totally fine, I get that things can run a little behind. I waited about 40 minutes for the shuttle service. Again, not a problem I was patient and went about my day. I ran some errands, did some shopping at Target, got food, but after 2 hours, I still hadn't received a call or even a video update (which is usually standard). I have come to this dealership regularly for service for years now. Every time, I receive a video of the multi-point inspection even during busy days. A basic oil change has never taken over 2 hours without communication. In addition to the oil change, I was also there to have my A/C checked, and had asked specifically to be called once it was diagnosed. Diagnosis shouldn't take more than an hour or so right? Yet, two hours in, no call and no update about the A/C either. I tried calling my service advisor, Ernest, who had previously given me his cell. He didn't answer, so I left a voicemail. No big deal at that point, I was still giving grace. But another hour passed, still no contact. I started calling the dealership's main line multiple times, no one answered. Eventually I called the sales department just to speak with a human. Someone kindly transferred me to service, where I sat on hold for 13 minutes before giving up and leaving another voicemail. An hour later, I tried again, still no response. I called sales again, explained the situation, and was told they'd find Ernest and have him call me. That call never came. At that point, I just headed back to the dealership. I arrived at 2:35 PM, keep in mind I had dropped off my car at 10:00 AM. Over 4.5 hours with no communication. At that point, I honestly wondered if they'd even touched my vehicle. Then came the most disappointing part the conversation with the manager, John. I approached him calmly and started explaining what I had experienced. Instead of listening, he kept cutting me off with excuses and defensive comments. I politely asked him to please stop interrupting me so I could finish explaining. I even mentioned that I usually have a good experience here service is quick and the staff is friendly, but this time was different. Unfortunately, instead of hearing me out, John doubled down, calling me "obnoxious" and "hot-headed," and even laughed at me during the conversation, like my concerns were somehow ridiculous. Not once did he offer a simple apology for the lack of communication or the way I was feeling. His behavior only escalated the situation, when all I wanted was some clarity and a solution. To make matters worse, he kept changing his story throughout the conversation: First, I was told I didn't get a multi-point inspection because that's not part of the oil change, even though it's listed as a complimentary service. When I pointed that out, the story shifted to "we don't always send out the video." But I've come here many times, and this would be the first and only time I haven't received it. Regarding the A/C issue: At first, John said it was covered under warranty, and that's why I wasn't contacted. Later, when the car was finally ready, he changed his story to say the A/C was fixed out of goodwill. So... which one is it? That led me to wonder, were they just planning to charge me for work I never approved? I specifically asked for a diagnosis, so I could find out what was wrong and decide if I could afford the repair. That's the whole point of getting a diagnosis in the first place right? This visit left me feeling not only ignored, but disrespected. I don't expect perfection, and I've always had decent experiences here before. But this situation, the lack of communication, the shifting explanations, the unprofessional attitude from a manager, and the complete lack of accountability or apology, really changed how I feel about bringing my vehicle here. This wasn't about the wait. It was about how I was treated when I asked fair questions and expected clear answers. I sincerely hope this dealership takes this feedback seriously and makes some real improvements in how they communicate with and treat their customers especially their female ones. read more
