If I could give less than one star, I would. I found my dream build X3 and was working with BMW of Annapolis starting Wednesday morning. I was fully committed to buying and had inquired about a deposit to hold the car. Mind you - I live in California, so pulling off a cross country purchase doesn't happen overnight. Their sales manager, Chris, had the tact and business skills of a desert caveman, but the sales person I was assigned to, Ayan, was fairly pleasant. From the very beginning, I communicated clearly that I was securing financing through my credit union (Star One), and that the approval process could take 1-3 business days. During this time, I kept Ayan informed every step of the way, with daily updates, follow-ups, and good faith communication. The car was taken off of public listing so I felt secure in my gargantuan efforts to expedite approval through Star One. (Which brought us to yesterday, Friday morning, at which point I was well on track to receive the expedited approval.) I sent receipts, communicated clearly that the application was in active review, and followed up with Ayan via text yesterday morning to confirm I would be calling the credit union again around noon to get an update. I also emailed General Manager Daniel Bailey directly, reiterating my commitment to the car and asking for a little grace while the loan finalized. I received no reply. I thought maybe they were having a busy Friday afternoon so I continued exhausting my own time and energy to get everything ready for the deal. Instead, after all that effort, BMW of Annapolis sold the car out from under me--without a phone call, a heads-up, or a shred of professional courtesy for my time and energy. I received this information at 4:47 pm yesterday - exactly 5 minutes after receiving my loan approval. I would have understood if they had been more transparent. But instead, I was met with silence while working tirelessly on my end to close this deal, only to be blindsided after making every possible effort to be respectful, responsive, and financially prepared. Their actions were dishonest and cruel. While Ayan was at least responsive and kind throughout most of the process, the larger picture here is one of inexcusable disregard. And Chris, the manager I briefly dealt with earlier, set the tone with his unprofessional, transactional behavior--dismissing legitimate questions and showing no interest in working with out-of-state buyers or pre-approved financing. (Keywords here: lazy and not a people person.) BMW of Annapolis made it abundantly clear: they do not care about customer commitment unless you're walking in with a check in hand. The fact that they couldn't even be bothered to let me know they were moving forward with someone else is not just poor service. It's unethical, shady business practice. If you expect basic respect, honesty, or any level of professionalism while buying a luxury car, I sincerely recommend taking your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I dread having my car serviced here. I keep coming back because of the location, and the Certified BMW technicians. But the responsiveness of their advisors is terrible. Unless you're standing in front of them, don't expect a response to telephone voicemails or texts. One two separate occasions I've had my car there for service and my assigned "advisor" has not responded to questions or voicemails. Sean Peria in the service department was excellent! Very professional, anticipated my needs, and was very clear and concise. You can tell this is a guy who enjoys his job and is cool and collected. His demeanor put me at ease after being towed in with a punctured tire. Some of the other service advisors looked a bit frazzled, so I'm glad I got Sean. Purchased a new 2025 Countryman back in July 2024. I was very excited absolutely love the new design and the vehicle. Up into this review I am now questioning my purchase! Service has always been great here. Brought My Mini in for a routine visit had concerns with the unusual wear on the tires at under 19,000 miles on this vehicle. I have to replace 3 tires would have been 4 but one tire was replaced in 1/2025 r/t a puncture but that tire is at a depth of 7/32 as of 6/12/2025. I was told that the vehicle requires a 4 wheel alignment which is causing the uneven wear of the tires... I was told something about the Go Cart something high suspension something and riding on bumpy roads not just hitting pot holes can cause misalignments....still seems crazy for a vehicle under a year old. The part of the service that was kind of off was the fact that I was told tires were not in stock and that I would need the alignment as part of the repair estimate... I was NOT offered to have tires ordered or schedule for the alignment with one tire requiring immediate attention bcs it was at 2/32 tread depth. I guess maybe bcs I was still in shock that I have to replace tires in a brand new vehicle in less than a year!! My advisor Bryan was very nervously pleasant in telling me my vehicle was washed and cleaned up and ready to go!! Have a nice day! Me still looking in shock as I walked to my vehicle. So I will be replacing tires and getting the alignment and will be more vigilant in checking tires and suspension of this vehicle.. and praying purchasing this vehicle was not a mistake!! read more

I picked up my car today and despite 1) asking the service tech specifically to make sure the pressures were corrected and 2) them replacing 2 tires ($660) and 3) doing an alignment ($150) they never corrected the tire pressures. Like the compressor wasn't right there. Where is the attention to safety or detail? Further, when I went to pick up my car on Thursday it wasn't actually fixed despite the marking it done on Tuesday. Lots of wasted time. The total repair bill was almost $2000, and I'll not be back. read more

BMW has lost a customer. We purchased a 2019 X5 SUV from BMW Silver Springs in Sept 2019. In 2020 it sat in their repair shop for 45 days waiting on a computer circuit board. In Nov 2024 it went into BMW Annapolis for recall issues, a week later it went back into the BMW of Annapolis for faulty SOS malfunction which was water ingress into diversity antenna and TCB due to faulty sealant around the antenna cover resulting in replacing TCB module and diversity antenna costing me $2,641.51. When we purchased the vehicle, we bought the extended (Platinum) warranty coverage at a cost of $4,000.00. Fidelity refused to cover the repair. I feel I have been totally ripped off by BMW. read more

I had nothing but bad experiences with the service agent assigned to me. She was defensive, met me with resistance every step of the way, and refused to use my extended warranty that I had paid for when I purchased my vehicle in 2021. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! I am puzzled at how this dealership handles its priorities and its customer service. I scheduled an appointment to replace a broken lock actuator for my driver side door. I had written down the symptoms in the notes of my appointment request, but it was clear when I showed up that the rep had not read them. After re-explaining what was wrong, the rep agreed to have the techs take a look. Luckily, the replacement part was already in stock, so they could do the repair that day. Change outs for my air filter and oil filter were overdue, so I gave the go ahead for those, too. What was supposed to be two routine maintenance items (the filters) and one not-as-routine maintenance item (the actuator) turned into an hours-long saga of spending my entire day at the dealership. I turned the keys over at 9:30 am and did some work at their onsite business center. After hearing no updates for five hours, I headed back over to the service counter at 2:30 pm. The rep explained that my car should be out next. It wasn't. Two hours later, at 4:30 pm, the rep came back with bad news. In the process of trying to replace my lock actuator, the techs (a junior team that day, according to her) inadvertently broke the actual lock and sheared my key. Because BMW locks and keys are VIN-paired, they would have to order new custom parts from the BMW hub in Pennsylvania. Arrival time could take up to ten business days. Rest assured, she told me, I wouldn't pay for any of the lock replacement. We scheduled a follow-up appointment for about two weeks later for the lock and key repair. The rep said that if the parts arrived early, we could move up the appointment. Fortunately, the parts came only five days later. But when I called the service center, they claimed they were unable to reschedule the appointment earlier. There was nothing they could do; I would just have to wait. When prompted by BMW to provide feedback for an internal survey, I gave them an unhappy -- albeit candid -- review. I got a call from my rep the day after. Miraculously, they were able to make room for my service. I could bring in my car to get fixed that day if I wanted. They would also provide a loaner vehicle for the duration of the repair. I did just that, dropped off my car, picked up the loaner, and had my vehicle fully repaired in six hours. All that to say, I struggle to wrap my head around how the tech team broke the lock and key in the first place as well as why the service department promised to do everything in their power to fix the issue, only to backpedal when the scheduling wasn't convenient for them. But after a bit of prodding and feedback, they did fix the problem they created. I guess that goes to show that at BMW of Annapolis, if you complain enough, they might do their jobs correctly. read more

The worst customer service ever! My wife and I went in to visit with Tom Hamel on a vehicle my wife discussed over the phone. When we met, he greeted my wife only as if I was non-existent, then when my wife stopped him to introduce me, he was reluctant to speak. Very forced, very unprofessional, and quite disrespectful! Purchased a 430X (our 11th BMW over the years) and bought an extended service plan extending coverage to 75,000 miles. When my wife took it in this month for service, at 58,000 miles, she was told the plan had expired based on time 3 weeks earlier, and oh by the way you need new brakes and rotors - $2600 expense. Given all of the emails, texts and snail mail we receive from both BMW corporate and the Annapolis dealer, you would think someone, or an algorithm, could have sent a reminder that the service plan was going to expire. If you're looking for decent customer service this is NOT the place for you. I was in the market for a new vehicle and was interested in trading in my car for a newer model. I had spoken with a young lady via email named Lorryn, who was pleasurable to deal with and reassured me that I would me taken care of when I went to dealership. Much to my dismay this was a lie! I was coming from DC and was battling slight traffic, I even inquired would that night be a good night for travel. I could always come back in the morning or maybe the weekend. I was reassured that my commute would not be an issue. I ended up arriving to the dealership maybe ~15 mins before they were closing. Having experience in retail, I know how much of a nuisance that could be. However, I had already did my due diligence in regards to what car I was looking for and was honestly interested in seeing if they could at least give me an appraisal or some information about the car I was interested in. I was opened to coming back the following day to finish the gritty work. Ha, we did not even get there. Upon arriving I was accosted by Alexis Thompson, stating "we're about to close, we can't do anything for you!" No, formal greeting or anything. Again, I realize you're about to close, but a simple instance of attempting to build rapport would have went a long way. After expressing this distasteful experience with Lorryn, she apologize for the inconvenience and was attempting to set me up with another sales rep, but I'd honestly take my money to another BMW dealership, who can at least fake like you want to build a rapport and take my money. read more

Andrew called me and we discussed the car. He called me back with Dan Bailey, the General Sales Manager. We struck a very fair deal and the paperwork was completed in no time. David Mier, Finance Director, emailed all of the documents and I signed electronically. I have never been to a BMW service department where the employees were so rude. My car was towed to this location in Annapolis and from the very beginning, there was a lack of communication. Robert would not return my calls when I had a question about my car. When I went to service department to pick my car up, I was able to finally see who Robert was and, not surprising, he was just as rude in person. Upon entering the establishment, no employee greeted me or asked if they could help me. They simply carried on with their private conversations as I was the only customer standing there waiting for them to finish their conversation. Both my old 5 series and now my 24 at least once. What I have noticed since getting my 24 is that something has drastically changed for the worst there. whenever a customer calls, there is absolutely no way to speak to an advisor. The practice by the young lady that schedules of taking your name and number and assuring an advisor will call back is falling flat on its face. Hell I am still waiting for the call back from a month ago when I needed your assistance. Absolutely abhorrent front line service. once you get there, service is great but your advisor service flat out sucks!!!! This comment is my only chance as a consumer to have a voice. Traveling 45 minutes for two Saturdays (4/22 and 4/29) for about 3 hours each visit, resulted in frustration. I was informed that the wheels and tires that I purchased from www.discounttiredirect.com would NOT fit my 2015 Mini Cooper Countryman All 4 S. I contacted Discount Tire Direct's customer service line twice, each time speaking with a different representative both of whom instructed and assured me that these wheels would fit my specific vehicle year make and model. On the second visit to this dealership the mechanics did not properly move the center wheel cover to reveal the proper lug nut pattern and size to fit properly. And I was informed by a service representative that a more experienced Mini mechanic evaluated the situation and they said that these wheels would definitely not fit my car due to the lug nut sizes. It was finally Admiral Tires in Denton, MD where a gentleman Bob took the time to hear me out and THAT SAME DAY THE TIRES AND WHEELS WERE INSTALLED AND ALIGNED NO ISSUE. This endeavor took ridiculous effort and time away from my family for something that was doable. After being assured by the wheel manufacturers that those wheels fit my car, I was disappointed. Disappointed in what was supposed to be a satisfying experience to match the outstanding vehicles BMW and Mini produce. This dealership is profoundly flawed and disorganized. The General Manager should be disappointed in a team so inadequate and inefficient. IF you NEED a service here make sure that you prepared for inexperienced staff and inefficient management. I picked out a car, agreed to pay the advertised price, sent a$2500 deposit and even financed part through them. Easy peasy right? They agreed to hold car so I could arrange a flight and conclude the sale in 2 days. The night before, they called and said they sold it to someone else who came in after me, "because we have a lot of buildings and someone in another building sold it." No explanation beyond that. I had my car in to address a dashboard warning light, it was addressed, but 3 days later it was on again. I took the car back and this time a video was sent of the inspection of the problem. From the video, there was no confidence that the "fix" was going to work, but rather involved trying different things, each one ratcheting up exponentially in cost. The car only has 25,000 miles, so it was hard to image that the parts described for replacement would be needed. I left two messages for the service rep to discuss, with no response. The following morning I left a third message, again no response. In frustration I just went and picked up my car and will try a different dealer. Terrible. I buy cars for a living and this is the worst dealership I have ever been in. I reserved a 750i and told them I would like to come in at 1pm but will come at opening if they cant hold the car for me. I called before I left the next morning, a 150 mile trip. I called and confirmed my appointment. I get there and they awkwardly apologize and tell me they accidentally sold the vehicle I came in for. Everyone just blamed each-other but did nothing to fix the problem. I hate this dealership, how could a business fail to communicate that many times. I had talked to over 4 people on the phone total and not a single person managed to realize that car is reserved... There are other reviews on this yelp of them doing the same thing. Part 2: Finally, with all of that behind me and my car ready for me to take possession (tags and title were done at the dealership), I was met by Brandon - whose card actually reads "BMW & MINI Genius". I love it! His role is to help customers who purchase cars get quickly acquainted with the knobs and dials and switches and so on. I was reminded of one of those hotel bellboys who gives a quick tour of a guest's suite. I was tempted to tip him, but I didn't... Oh, kudos to Elliot who took my car out to fill it up with gas. That gets a whole bunch of "likes". BTW, from start to finish, the process took about 4 hours from the moment that I walked into the dealership to the moment I left the parking lot with my newly purchased car. After my car was totaled, a 2022 BMW 228i was listed on the website for $29K. I made an appointment to go test drive the same day. With it being a demo they did not have it. Because, I needed a car and this was in my range, I wanted to see what the car looked like. Reluctantly, the salesman, found a car like it to show me. I decided to make a purchase and requested a buyers order, sight unseen (because I needed a vehicle). When I took the order to the bank the next day to secure a check, the bank and I called to update the buyers order to reflect that I was making a down payment. The finance manage Dan said he would take care of it at 9:47 a.m. I called back at 10:14 Dan was nasty and said he had other deals he was working on. I sat in my bank until 11:30 waiting on them to send what we needed so I could take a check. I then text the salesman AJ (who was on vacation) and he said he would reach out to them. Long story short, the bank and I found a work around and I was going to just show up and give them the checks that I had. To this day Dan never sent the paper work nor did this dealership call me back. I even did an online buyers order to make sure I could get this car. As best I could figure they realized that they under priced the car and decided not to talk to me. That day the image of the car came off their website, but the information was still there. Then the next day they listed it as sold. I say BS to that. The worst customer service ever. They could have just called back and said we made a mistake with pricing and can't sell for that amount. We can work something out. They made a stressful situation even worse. I took my business elsewhere and am filing a complaint with BMW. read more

Another small but concerning issue, they told me my car was ready for pick up and just got washed. Well it was dirty just like when I dropped it off. They also do not care if you travel far to get to them, which is a huge turn off for someone coming 30+ miles. The issues I am having with my car should not be issues you have with a brand new car. The BMW of Annapolis location will make me seriously reconsider buying a BMW in general next time.
