The crew was on time, extremely efficicent and communicative. Everyone was very mindful of our neighbors fence, property, roof line and powerlines. Everyone had PPE on and were so incredibly safe when scaling the trees and hedges. Clean up was very thorough. Majority of our fronds and hedge were processed by the chipper and hauled. Our neighbor was so impressed with the crew he also hired them on the spot to take care of his street tree. It is impressive how much green waste we produced that day. Luckily the city picks up yard trimings on the street so his crew broke down anything else we had to sizeable chunks and neatly piled for SJ GreenWaste to pick up. Of all the companies that provided quotes, JC Tree Experts was the most detailed. Some simply scribbled a price on their business card, but JC Tree Experts emailed a detailed quote explaining exactly what work was included, debris hauled away, etc., photos of the trees to be worked on, arborist certification, and even their insurance certificate as evidence that the company and their employees were covered in the event of accident or injury on our property. This was by far more than any other company provided, and it was a clear indication of their level of professionalism. Theirs was not the lowest quote, but was much more reasonable than some. They arrived as scheduled to do the work - in fact, a little early. It was a large crew with two large trucks and a wood chipper. The crew confirmed the expectations with us and set to work. They were all cheerful and friendly, but worked quite efficiently, completing the work in less than an hour. First of all, I know it's a very demanding business and risky at that. And things come up all the time, but what is unacceptable is accountability. I had an appointment and the day of the person was nowhere to be seen. I could not get a hold of Xavier. He finally responded after numerous calls. I have several friends in this business and they said that they at least apologize when they over schedule and things come up. Again, I understand this. Sean took care of filing the permit for the street tree and worked within my schedule. The crew arrived on time and did a great job expertly extracting the plum tree, grinding down the main trunk and a lateral root. They took their time to remove dead wood areas and shape the larger trees to comply with city regulations but still retain shape and shade. Same was done with the shrubs/trees in the backyard, improving spacing from the house and reducing height to not block solar panels. All debris was removed and ground up in their wood chipper. My parents felt the quote provided from the tree arborist was expensive. My sister asked me to find other trees arborists on Yelp. I asked J.T.S. Tree Expert for a quote. When I made the request on Yelp I also checked the box to send the request to other vendors. I met most of the vendors that responded through Yelp at my parents' place. In August I scheduled as many tree arborists as possible I could for a free estimate. I learned a lot from them regarding what needed to be done. Seeing multiple tree arborists provided me insights on what issues to ask. After the appointments each tree arborist provided me with a quote. One was really expensive even though he was licensed. There were a couple of tree arborists that weren't licensed that provided more reasonable quote. One thing I observed from my encounters with the tree arborists is they would tell you about the estimated quote for the trimming however when I received the quote there was another charge for the cleaning. When I met Jose and Veronica from J.T.S Tree Expert I showed them the backyard on my parents' home. J.T.S was the second to the last tree arborist I scheduled for an estimated quote. Jose told me that time frame for trimming the trees would be six hours. At the end I decide to go with J.T.S as they were not only licensed but also the cheapest as the quote included the tree trimming and the cleaning. I wasn't there on the day of Friday October 10 when J.T.S workers came to my parents' house for the trimming. However my parents were. They said the processed took about five hours. Thankfully no serious damage occurred other than a large tree branch crashing down onto the front lawn due to gusty winds. A quick Yelp review helped me find Rays Tree Service. It's no wonder so many others have rated Acevedo's Tree Service stars! Ray was at my house within 30 minutes to review the project and provide a very competitive quote for the job. We actually decided on additional work to trim and prune the entire tree. Ray came back the very next morning, a half hour earlier than expected to begin the work. I stayed home to watch the entire job. It was cool to watch him study the job and explain the game plan to his assistant. He was very careful around the neighbors property and especially the surrounding telephone pole wires while getting his aerial lift high into the tree.
