My stance on a business is hardly ever determined on the customer service they provide. Many of my go-to spots don't have great service and I keep coming back because they are selling a product, not their soul. Working people are individuals, and individuals are, by nature, inconsistent. Dealing with an overwhelming amount of people while being forced to "leave your personal drama at home" is unfair to any single person on earth, and for that reason, I will NEVER judge a business for a bad experience with someone working there. This bar is quite the exception! As I said before, individuals are inconsistent and here's my inconsistency of the day: Three-13 Bar has the worst customer service model I've seen and witnessed and can only rate this place one single star. Met some friends here, celebrating a friend's remission. My sister and I, both of us white women, arrived first and everything was fine. We waited for everyone else to get there and enjoyed a beer in the mean time. Bartender was super jolly and chatty with us, but gave us a completely flat and dead beer. Whatever, beer is beer, but that should have been indicative of the mere racism we experienced as soon as our 4 other friends showed up. Our other white brother, along with 3 black women. The same bartender who welcomed us with her faux-quirkiness turned into the rudest "professional" compared to how silly she was before knowing we had black friends joining us. Every second after that made the entire bar a hostile place to celebrate my friend's medical win against the big bad C. Assuming we'd run off without paying, keeping an uncomfortable eye on us, getting others to basically micromanage our every move and ultimately having someone who did not attend to us at all chase us out the establishment accusing us of not paying. Safe to say we will never go back, probably some good news to the people keeping this place afloat. Understanding and accepting nuances in life is one of the most beautiful things that come with living, but when unable to handle a difference as shallow as the skin, maybe running a business in this day and age, and state for our matter- is not for you. With only 59 reviews, assuming this place is either new or unknown, what a horrible way to build up a clientele, but we see and understand the clientele in mind here. Walked in this place and felt instantly welcomed. We were seated right away at the bar and offered a selection of beverages. My brother and I decided on a draft IPA, forgot the name but it was delicious and will order again. People walked in and they were welcomed with such friendliness. This to me, is a super cool bar where everybody will know your name. I'm looking for a neighborhood bar and this bar fits the bill. Great service, laid back ambiance, fun people. First time @ 313. Was really an awesome spot. They had all the high end tequilas which I love. As a NFL fan, I really appreciated the TV setup. They utilized the space well to get a lot of TVs inside which bodes well for Sundays in the fall. I'd definitely come here to watch a Chargers game! Bolt Up!!! The vendors that sell food here are top notch especially the bratwurst on Saturday. I live in Arizona but have a satellite office out in Orange county, I came to 313 earlier this year just to see how it is and I loved every bit of it. I love it so much that on my last visit a couple weeks ago I brought eight of my clients there to have a little holiday gathering and they loved it as well. The owner Shannon is super awesome and her bartender's there are amazing and nice people. I would recommend this place for even just the stop by to have a cocktail or two, happy hour, or just to come by and meet up with some friends. You must go to this place if you're in the Costa Mesa area. They will always have my support and I will always bring my clients whenever I am in town. This is an adorable little bar in Costa Mesa. My neighbor picked me up and asked to go here to grab a drink. It's small but they've set it up to accommodate as many people as possible. Our bartender the last two times we've been in, Jasmine, is absolutely wonderful. She's so energetic and full of life, but most importantly she's got the first drink ready to go right away.
