Came in and was torn between a cobb salad and the pastrami. The cashier suggested the cobb salad since it was a warm day, and recommended the ranch, extra cucumber, and extra croutons. Then she suggested if I do the pastrami I've got to have an ice cold beer to cool down the hot pastrami. I said good call, I'll do the cobb just how you're recommending. What a good call! I was impressed with how fresh everything was!! The chicken was actually hot, very juicy and flavorful. The bacon was crispy like chips, which I enjoyed. The extra cucumber was nice and fresh as described. The salad itself was a pretty big size. This one was completely earned by your company. I ordered online for pickup. I get there and wait a good 16 minutes past my pickup time. It was pretty busy, so I waited patiently thinking, ok, they are behind a bit. I finally ask, and they tell me there was a problem with my order. My first thought was, so was anyone EVER going to tell me. Could I have sat here for hours waiting???? So I said, I've already been sitting here 16 minutes past pickup time, was anyone going to inform us? They claimed they called my wife's number. I called her 2x while I was waiting and she immediately pickup up.......then they get the order wrong,.....so let me spell out this crappy experience for you. 1. They were out of jack cheese (Manager, you clearly need a lesson in ordering food for the week.) 2. They claimed they called, but my wife didn't receive a call. So are their staff a bunch of liars???? 3. They gave my wife the wrong salad dressing for her salad. 4. My sandwich was made poorly. To the manager of the store, maybe I can offer you a little lesson in serving your customers. First, someone should have stayed on top of our order. Absolutely no way they do nothing. Second, if they actually had called, leave a message to call you back. And on top of that, take a bag, attach the receipt to it, with a note saying to ask for help at the counter, and place it on the pickup shelf. This way, as a customer, if I'm waiting PATIENTLY, I will know what to do. Worst of all, no one offered me anything for my trouble. Listen, there are other good sandwhich shops out there, and you just lost my business. We used to go to the Del Mar site, and were excited you had come much closer to Encinitas. What a disappointment. This is for a take out order. I got the Turkey Club sandwich with potato salad on the side and a chocolate chip cookie. A sandwich is only as good as the bread and this was really bad bread. A french roll is supposed to be a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This was just white bread, and it was cold. Cold bread? The turkey was turkey roll, not real turkey and Boar's Head tastes much better. This was salty and did not taste like turkey. How do you ruin bacon? This bacon tasted like a salt lick, with zero bacon taste. The lettuce was good. That's the only positive thing I can say about this sandwich. I would say another positive is that the sandwich is pretty big, but that only meant having to eat more of it. The Potato Salad wasn't bad but to be honest VONs tastes better. I haven't tried the small cookie yet, I should eat it now to get the bad taste out of my mouth. I noticed most of the positive reviews are from folks dining in.
