Ward & I headed to the beach for a few days & hit up a couple places. Stopped in at the Boardwalk for lunch one day. PRO- Really good 80's music (we're old) & nice waterfront view table. Our waitress was nice, though when Ward asked her what IPA she preferred she told him "I'm not old enough to drink, so I don't know". Note to her- just tell us which one is more popular. My grilled chicken ceaser wrap was good. Chilled grilled chicken on a fresh wrap, hard to screw that up. Ward had a grilled chicken sandwich. Both came with decently good fries. CON - Nothing to write home about but was a good lunch. SO - If you are down the Beach, stop in for lunch. You won't be thrilled, but you won't be disappointed either. I came on a hot day over the summer and I had a pretty average experience here. I remember the tables and seats being pretty sticky but the humidity probably didn't help. I got the clam strips and fries and I remember it being a really affordable price because it was one of their lunch specials. The clam strips tasted really great for what they cost and the fries weren't anything special. Food is just OK, service and management is poor. Unfortunately, we experienced a very uncomfortable situation and was not impressed with how management handled everything, therefore I will no longer visit Boardwalk. In short, a white lady was upset that a table of young adults, mixed races, were being loud, in particular a young black man, at an outdoor restaurant with loud music. She ended up telling management that she didn't feel safe and to call the police, after the young man spoke a few words about her ridiculous behavior on his way out. So management did, even though that group were "regulars" and relatives of current employees. Managers could have handled this so differently. The police did arrive, and some how the young man trying to diffuse the situation was arrested. So many videos of this arrest can be found on the internet. Perhaps the management should invest in leadership training, teach their managers how to handle hysterical, irrational customers and basic customer service. That table was no louder than any other table. I, for one, will not be returning. It was too upsetting with how it was handled and not pleased with the explanation sent to us in a personal email. I don't want to chance being witness to another event like this because people of all shades live in this world and a repeat of said events is inevitable. read more

Where do I start. I literally can't believe what they served me when I ordered food. Got the nachos and added chicken. The chicken on top of the stale chips was by far and I mean not even close, the worst chicken i've ever had in my life. I wouldn't even feed my cats the chicken because their fancy feast wet food is more edible. You could light a match on that unseasoned uncultured chicken. That was so embarrassing I had to tell the server to take it straight back to the chef and give me my check. Run, don't walk people. Run as far away as you can from this dump of an establishment. This was the first place my boyfriend and I stopped to get something to eat when we arrived in Hampton Beach. We decided to eat upstairs and the view was beautiful, our waitress was friendly and always checking in. We didn't want anything too heavy so we got chicken and fries and a teriyaki chicken sandwich. The Boardwalk is a special place to me and Mr. G. We've been coming here for years for food and drinks after a day on the beach. We share many fun memories over the years here in Hampton beach. 6 years ago Mr G proposed to me here. It may not sound so romantic to some but for me it was perfect. It just added to the long list of wonderful times I've had laughing and enjoying the ocean beach weather. So here it is our 5th anniversary and why not celebrate it back at the Boardwalk. The bar where we sat has been moved since they just renovated the entire place. Both 1st and 2nd floor are in better areas. We really enjoy the 2nd floor since you can sit and look out at the ocean or sit outside facing in as the bar is a full circle with the wall/windows opening up. The main entrance moved so you're no longer coming into the main dining area which makes traffic flow smoother and isn't as disrupting to those eating. We've really enjoyed the food. The onion rings are thin and crisp. A side order is plenty but we've also gotten a regular order to share which is mountain high and hot. Steamers, mussels, fish and chips are favorites. We've also ordered the fisherman's platter to share among 4 ppl. The steak tip Caesar salad rocks. The tips are flavorful with a tasty marinade and cooked well. The drinks range based on bartender so we've found Scott makes the best ones. He's a seasoned pleasant guys who knows his way around the place from food to drinks to clean up... all with a smile. He is happy to be there and we don't feel like we are bothering him when is time to order. He makes a refreshing long island ice tea and Mr. G was super happy with his dirty martini. I don't think I've ever stalked anyone but I'd rather sit and have a drink made by him rather than a hoe hum basic beverage. We got a tour of the third floor rooms which were also updated. Clean and modern with decent pricing. We don't need a place to stay but I'd recommend it if you're looking. This is also a great place to watch the fireworks if you happen to time your meal right. Sit outside and you can see them pretty well. The only add on would be hooks under the bar to hang my purse and coat but that's small in comparison to all the pluses. Love this place! Great seafood and well made drinks brought to you whilst you practically sit on the beach. They offer a comfortable dinning enviroment, good music and great food. Now given its on the beach you can only imagine what kind of riff raff may show up. This was the case during our last vist. A table started getting loud and harrassing other patrons at their tables, eventually smashing a glass on the floor causing glass to be thrown in every direction. Management immediately stepped in. Unfortunately it ended with 2 men being arrested but that is the price you pay if you are disruptive on public and cannot handle your liquor. White Girl OG, billed as "The perfect strain for the "basic" white girl who needs a marijuana story that she can tell at parties for the next 20 years" and it was the perfect description. We chose to go here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was not too crowded and not too loud and we thankfully got a spot on the outside top floor which was nice. The food was really good I got the ravioli and it was delicious I ate all of it ---it had about six or seven raviolis. My fiancé got the fried haddock sandwich which he also enjoyed and it came with french fries, the french fries were mediocre but the sandwich was delicious. He also got the clam chowder which was yummy and I tried it and I'm not a fish person but it was actually pretty good. our waitress Kat was very friendly. We went to the Boardwalk cafe and none of us were happy with our meal (there were 5 of us). My boyfriend got fish and chips and it literally looked like fish nuggets and his fries were cold and there was no flavor. I got a chicken bacon ranch wrap and it had BACON BITS in it!? Like who goes to a restaurant for bacon bits!? And the chicken in the wrap was not great. The stuffed shrimp was deceitful, hiding 5 tiny shrimps under a crumb crust which would have been delicious if the meal had been complete. The baked potato was undercooked and to request it "loaded" which is pretty standard amongst most dining establishments was not on the menu and extra money however it's quality was not extra. Following, our entree coming out 5 after receiving our app. I thought being close to the ocean the seafood would be fresh- not frozen.The mussels were literally steamed tossed with canned tomatoes. No favor and bland. Scallops were awful-fishy, frozen and soggy. Don't set your expectations high. We are here on Friday 7/2 for Dinner. We ordered the Boardwalk Fries for an app and a cosmopolitan, a running the boardwalk cocktail & an apple juice. The fries and apple juice came fine. We ordered dinner at the same time as the app. Bacon chicken Ranch wrap with fries, grilled salmon and Mac n cheese. When it arrived we had still not received our 3 rd set of silverware or cocktails. I reminded the waitress and they arrived quickly after. My chicken in the wrap was incredibly dry. It wasn't breaded so it was hard to enjoy. I just dumped more ranch on and powered through. I was surprised it was a cold wrap sandwich. I had asked for no tomatoes and to add cheddar cheese. They upcharged me $1.00 for a square slice of cheddar cheese. Ha ha Do I get a deduction for no tomatoes? My husbands salmon was NOT ok. It was too was dry and lacked flavor. Came with bland rice pilaf and an ear of corn broken into 2 pieces. We got to sit on their outdoor patio upstairs with a beautiful view of the beach. We ordered the mussels appetizer, a chicken Caesar wrap, and the burger. The mussels did not taste fresh at all and some were super tiny. I actually got a bad stomach ache pretty soon after eating them and couldn't even finish my own meal. The wrap was average, not bad but nothing special. The burger was good, it had avocado and bacon in it! Portions are decent, but for about $20 a person, definitely feel like we could've gotten a better dinner. read more

My husband and I stopped in for dinner last weekend. We sat upstairs at the bar. Our server, JoJo was awesome. She made me a custom cocktail which was not on the menu and it was delicious. We enjoyed buffalo wings, a burger and a lobster roll. Everything was delicious. There is a view of the boardwalk below and the ocean. It was casual, comfortable and friendly. The prices were reasonable as well. We will definitely be back this summer when we can sit on the deck. read more

So picture this: It's our 5 year anniversary. The husband and I book a one night stay at the Ashworth. We check in and decide to walk the strip. We're walking for about an hour and the skies open up. So we decide to duck out of the rain and grab a drink or two until it passes. We head into the Boardwalk. I'd been there once before a concert and remembered it being good. So we go to the second floor and sit at the bar. We are first served by a newbie bartender who promptly gets a glass stuck in a shaker, mid-drink. Next shifts bartender JoJo shows up and attempts to get the glass unstuck. No one can do it and it becomes a long term project. Later my husband suggests placing the glass and shaker in the dishwasher so the hot water can expand the metal and release the glass. It worked! High fives all around the bar. LOL We get to talk to JoJo for awhile and she is funny and sweet and makes damn good drinks. We ended up not wanting to leave the bar for dinner. We had initially wanted to go find some sushi for our anniversary dinner but we decided to stay here and indulge. My husband had the Steak Tip dinner and I had the Fried Scallops. Both meals were insanely delicious and fresh. We had a couple more drinks and said goodbye. So essentially, we went in to stay dry for a bit and stayed for HOURS it was that good.
