Boathouse bbq is good but could be great with some minor improvements. If you stick with the bbq meals, it is very good. If you order other meals, it almost feels like bar food. The view on the back patio is great on a nice summer or fall evening. If the weather is great, expect to wait. We went on a nice evening and walked up to the hostess table and the hostess talked with her coworker for more than 3 minutes before turning and asking if she could help us. Once they had a table ready, a few of the hostesses didn't know who was taking us to our table so it took another minute for them to get organized with the seating. There are better restaurants in Marietta. read more

So I heard about this place on a group chat and was driving by the area and decided to try it. We were greated promptly and the service was friendly and timely. We ordered the wood chips (cheese fries) and they were excellent with bacon and brisket. The beer list here is mostly boring but they do carry a few craft beers from the area. Then things took a turn for worse. I ordered a sampler with ribs, lean brisket and sausage, and my date got pulled pork. The brisket was a fatty cut, but that's not what was gross, it appeared to be warmed on a griddle. It was over cooked, salty and had no smoke flavor. Nearly inedible. The sausage was so salty it was not editable and burnt. The pork offering Faired a little better. The pork was average, and a little bland. The ribs were good and meaty but lacked a smoke flavor. They have their own bbq which all were better than average which was a blessing trying to eat those meats. The atmosphere is good. Right on the river. It was cold today, but it would be awesome place to eat went it's warm. I'd give them another shot, but the food was a let down. read more

The staff at this restaurant deserve five stars for taking excellent care of my family, particularly my dad who has a disability. We all can find something we love on the menu when we go here together and it's relaxed, service Is fast and friendly. My dad goes here by himself at least once a week and they treat him like family, which I appreciate so much because even though I live far away, I know he isn't really all by himself. Just left. Waited 30 min for a table by the river to watch Matt Petty & eat,when I kept telling the hostess there were 2 empty tables near the river to be bused she ignored me & said theres a family in front of me.We waited another 15min & empty tables still not bused. Finally left & went to Adelphia. This is the 3rd time this has happened to us here & the last! Will not tolerate rude Hostesses & unmanaged restaurants such as this. Been here numerous times and the food has always been great. The restaurant was closed for some time though due to flooding but after reopening the food is the exact same as it was before the flood. The staff the is always very friendly and the beer is never bad! This place is worth the try for sure if you've never been. My only issue with Boathouse is the size of the place in regards to seating, especially now during the COVID-19 Pandemic. read more

We had a great time! Our server Ashley was amazing!!!! Very attentive and always made sure our drinks were full. The food was amazing. I was disappointed that the prime rib is no longer available. Visiting over night in Marietta we searched out local food. Boathouse was also recommended by our front desk person. Good location and great atmosphere for a bbq place. We were strictly told they cannot give out a wait time which was absurd but understandable in these times. The hostesses were very welcoming to us and courteous. Good beer offerings and a friendly bartender. Our server was very friendly and attentive even though she seemed to have tables everywhere in the restaurant on a moderately busy Friday eve. The food was super tasty if not a bit skimpy in portion size across the board with entrees and sides. Fairly priced meals. I have written 1 additional one star review out of a bazillion 5 star...... but here i am. My husband and I came down to Marietta for a get away and to meet a few of our store suppliers. The Boat House was recommended to us by friends so we thought we would give it a shot. These are my thoughts and observations: Right out of the gate, hosting staff acted aloof. We were sat in an enclosed patio area after inquiring about outdoor seating. Ok, fine, enclosed patio seating it is. Our waitress cake to the table and took our drink order and at that time we again asked for an outdoor patio spot as three tables had opened up. Her response to is was that they couldn't so that as per management as it creates all sorts of problems. In the meantime, two local ( obnoxious!!) get sat next to us, order their beers and the. Request an outdoor space and Low and Behold THEY GET MOVED!! So when she comes back, we politely point out that the gentlemen that had been sitting next to us had been moved to which she rolls her eyes and says "yeah, that waitress was already reprimanded." Ummmmm...ok? We ate a very basic meal. That lacked all the way through and observed multiple patio tables empty while doing so. Dear boathouse restaurant- we WILL be back to marietta. We will NOT be back to your restaurant. And its sad really, because you actually have potential. A piece of advise: give your outdoor dining to your tourists that wanna tip your waitstaff above the usual..... and get some waitresses that give a crap about the experience. read more

One of the best places to sit outdoors in the MOV, right on the Ohio River. Indoor seating is not great and very dark. Food is generally very good and they have solid variety. Favorites include the lobster dip, pulled pork, and chicken tenders. Nice collection of different sauces for your BBQ. Good for takeout as well. read more

Just okay, not usually my choice for a place to eat. For a BBQ restaurant, the BBQ is pretty meh. The only thing I ever order is the wood chips or BBQ Nachos (both are appetizers). I don't usually leave posts but felt the experience today was worth it. We stopped late afternoon while out riding. I have heard a lot about this restaurant from fellow bikers but wanted to check it out myself. The food was amazing and our waiter Willie (sp?) was spot on with the "Pick 3". Today I had the wedge salad with their honey balsamic dressing, it was so amazing. I didn't take a picture but I should have. That deliciousness covered in bacon and bleu cheese then drizzled with the honey balsamic dressing served with a steak knife down the middle (like the most luscious burgers/sandwiches are served) was so appetizing that I couldn't even waste the time to snap the photo! Food here is generally good but has gone downhill over the last 2 years. Had a fish taco today that was loaded with 2 pcs of good fish, lettuce, tarter and cheese. The wife got the Gold Rush chicken taco, very disappointed. Same size taco but with only 2 little chicken nuggets, half the lettuce I received and the cheese was just sprinkled on. On a previous visit last fall the "must try" bbq nachos were hugely downsized and very little pulled pork added. We're starting to question why we keep returning. It must be the atmosphere sitting outside riverside. Good luck. read more

Been coming here for a couple years now and have been coming back ever since. The wings here have been some of the best wings I've had. Usually come and get the blueberry wings with tall glass of bud. They've got other great stuff here as well like their spinach dip. read more
