We were soooo hopeful that our experience was going to be a wonderful one. 5 - To our Rockstar Server, Porsha!!! That delightful young lady was an absolute professional! She is very skilled in making her customers feel warm & welcomed. Our order; however was a bust. I really had hoped that the reviews weren't true, but unfortunately, most were accurate. Even though we specifically asked for well done sausage (cooked on one side) & potatoes, those instructions weren't followed at all. My son's ham literally came out cold. The only happy camper at the table was the Grand Princess, lol!

Better than I was expecting. I was searching for something a bit different after church. The local place on IL 159 was outrageously packed, so we ended up here. The Sunshine Skillet was pretty good and the biscuits were to die for. The cold brew was tasty also. I got mine with just the cream, no added flavor. The service was okay. Probably because of staff shortages. Wish they'd add breakfast cocktails to their menu! It would make waiting on your food easier!

Tried the Bacon Cheeseburger. Very underwhelming from the burnt bacon to the frozen beef patty I couldn't taste. Green beans were torch.

The service was great. Leah was very attentive. This was the first time I had been here in over 10 years and had a very good experience. I ordered biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash browns, bacon, and French toast. I was a bit shocked at the color of the gravy with it being a brownish color. It was a bit salty but good. The seating was comfortable and clean. All the staff I saw wore masks. The price was very reasonable too.

Asked for hash browns well done... RAW

I got it delivered while working long hours over the weekend and hadn't heard of it before - to my detriment, because WOW. My order: Biscuits with duckfat gravy and an overhard egg Extra biscuit with their house jam Seasonal lemon berry griddle cake Jalapeño rosemary fries I'll start with the last thing. I LOVE rosemary, and like the taste of jalapeño but jalapeños themselves don't agree with me. So they arrived without jalapeños as requested, and were very good. There wasn't much rosemary flavor, which was kind of a bummer, but I would get these again in a heartbeat. Well-cooked, not too soft but not too crispy, nice and fluffy inside. I love a good spiral-cut potato and these didn't disappoint in that regard. The lemon berry griddle cake was phenomenal. They're pretty big, so a single will do most people (I had quite a bit left over). The whipped lemon curd was AMAZING, and the berry compote drizzle was probably the best I've ever had from anywhere - which is saying something. I didn't get the berries themselves as berries don't tend to hold up well during deliveries, but I got some of the blackberries I grow in my own garden and slapped them on there. GOODNESS gracious. 1000/10. Now for the highlight, in my opinion - the biscuits and gravy. I have long thought that one can tell the skill of a chef and the quality of a restaurant by its most "basic" items, and if you were judging solely by the biscuits and gravy, you'd be doing the same thing I am and telling EVERYONE about it. The biscuits were dense and flavorful, not in any way dried out, very filling, and the light toasting done to the inside of each half was such a quality touch. The gravy is TO DIE FOR. Just the right amount of kick, and a little went a long way. I had more than enough with my order to save some for another day! MAN it's gonna be difficult not to order from here every day... This type of restaurant is exactly the kind of thing Belleville needs to hold onto. It's high quality food, with a high quality staff and a commitment to community and sustainability our town desperately needs more of. Not only that, but it's reasonably priced; normally you'd see places like this charging 60% more minimum for the food and it's almost never as good as this. I am SO intensely impressed. Very, very well done, Clara B's crew!

The order was packaged with care and I decided I'd have to eat in person if it was so good via delivery. Clara B's is housed inside of LongStory coffee just outside downtown Belleville. I've been there for coffee a few times and like the atmosphere there. I've now been to have breakfast a few times. If you go there on a weekend, there is a line to order food by 9am and the tables fill up but food comes out in a reasonable timeframe and people clear out as more come in. You pick up a menu and wait in line and order at the register. Not much wait time. Employees are nice. The smaller menu is full of hearty comforts. I love that their choices for breakfast proteins include a fried chicken breast and brisket. Their bacon is thick and delicious, the kind that melts in your mouth. The biscuits are the southern homemade style that are thick and crumbly, not sweet. I've saved one once to make a perfect strawberry shortcake for two. The duck fat gravy is good, a little watery, but it absorbs well into the biscuits. The breakfast potato fries look amazing and one day I'll try the pancakes. I'm low carbing it right now and I like that I can go in and order eggs and a protein and grab an iced coffee and read. I highly recommend for anyone to stop in for a lovely breakfast/brunch and support this local gem.

Plus for a special treat swing by on a Sunday and enjoy one of the best cafe singers ever! We didn't catch her name but she was really good and we enjoyed our meal and coffee while listening to her sing. This is a very cute downtown coffee shop. It's in a small town and has that special small town vibe.

That was very impressive! I ordered a peppermint bark & oat milk iced latte and she started that while I continued to look over the menu. Music was playing oldies -- The Temptations, The Dells, etc., which was a chill vibe. I then ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy as I am always on the search for the best b's & g's. Latte was handed to me quickly at the counter and my food was brought to me within 2 mins of sitting down. The latte was quite sweet, I didn't taste much of the espresso, which isn't my preference. I really am kind of biased though as a former barista myself, ;) However, I know next time to remember to ask for less syrup, if I order again. The b's & g's are very fresh -- the biscuits were warm and tender; the gravy is more of a brown gravy and not your classic white gravy. It was thick, with chunks of sausage, flavorful, with herbs on top. It was not that salty which I noticed right away as I am very particular about that. I appreciated that a lot! I don't think I would order these again, solely based on liking white country gravy better. But very flavorful and for someone else, worth a try! And they were served in a Togo container which is cool, in case I wanted to take it with me. The cafe itself is immaculately clean & that included the beautifully wallpapered bathroom. The tables are all clean and they all have pretty little real mums in cups, I love that simple touch - so cozy. One walls is covered with photography pieces for sale and as I photographer, I love to see the support for us and our work! Definitely super cool. As a NYC native, this cafe felt more urban-esque, while sitting in downtown small town Belleville and really such an, "at home" type vibe -- really though, shout out to the barista who really stands out in treating you like family. They live up to their sign, inside, "Welcome to the family." That's valuable! Overall, I'm super impressed with the service and I'll definitely come back to try another drink and more food. Definitely worth it! I recommend, Justitia's! Thanks for having me. :)
