Stopped this afternoon with a friend while on a cross country motorcycle trip. Neither of us had ever heard of Bob Evans, since we're both from California. Food was just okay, as expected for this Denny's type chain restaurant. What really was disgusting and unacceptable in my opinion, was the fact that they filled my water glass from the hand washing sink (ick). We have been going to this Bob Evans for years at least every other week, sometimes more. The last month the service has gone to the bottom, waitresses who could care less about the customer. Cooks who don't even try to make your food as described in menus. Sunday 9/16/2018 we went for breakfast after church, giving them another chance. After the hostess seated three young ladies who came in after us, I ask why she said they needed a high chair. I told her they did not have a child she says sorry and seated us. I ordered the sunshine skillet, when our food came 33 minutes later it was not correct. My skillet which was scramble eggs, sausage, gravy, potatoes and cheese. There was no potatoes, the waitress said she could bring side of potatoes. This place has gone from a great place to eat, to one we will not visit again. read more

Had a very disappointing breakfast here today. How hard is it to screw up biscuits and gravy? Well, the sausage gravy tasted like condensed chicken stock and the white gravy without meat was much saltier than it should've been. Sad that something so simple was prepared so poorly. Ended up paying over $20 for two cups of coffee and two small (and yucky) breakfasts... I would've liked to have a spot to go to near home for breakfast food but this surely won't be it. read more

I want to thank the dedicated staff at Bob Evans Restaraunt Lebanon, Ohio. Although I waited two hours for my carry out order that I placed online at the Bob Evans website for 1130 am pick up, the staff stay focused despite disgruntled customers and a challenging work environment. It was less than smooth, but I was grateful for these men and women who worked long hours on Thanksgiving holiday to prepare four meals for a hungry family. I know it was difficult with the overwhelming amount of orders and the covid environment. They still persevered despite these challenges. Thank you to each and every one of you. In a pinch and stopped in at the poor man's Denny's. The place was empty except for a gentleman eating dinner and some folks playing bingo. Well let's see how things played out...someone had to yell to the girl up front to seat me. I watch as the servers walk through and look towards me, the manager chatting with the employees by the soda station, and a waiter asking anyone who would listen if my table was taken care of. To my amazement no-one and I mean no-one who was employed there reacted. My reaction was to leave and as I left no-one employed there even inquired about the meal that I never received or the service that never existed in the restaurant that shouldn't survive being a part of this community. Good place for breakfast, tried it once for dinner and that was horrible. My favorite thing is their blueberry crepes. Their coffee isn't great. I like their pot roast hash, but for some reason it's always super salty. One time I had them being me out 2 new sets and still salty, so the crepes are safe. The kids love their silly straws. There normally isn't a wait compared to most restaurants on Sunday morning so that's another bonus. They send out good coupons if you join their mailing list too. They recently did a renovation which was way over due. I like this place better than Denny's. read more

I cannot recommend this Bob Evans restaurant to anyone. The employees are friendly and the interior of the restaurant is fine, but three times out of the four visits to this establishment over a 7 month period have had problems. We've experienced missing side items, undercooked entrées, and most recently we had crunchy undercooked potatoes served in our potato soup (the only item we purchased). All three issues were experienced with separate to-go orders, making it that much more frustrating as the issues were found after arriving at home. We understand that mistakes happen and we believe in second chances, but this many mistakes over a relatively short time period indicates that there are systemic training and food prep issues at hand. Unfortunately we will not patronize this location again nor recommend it to others. read more

The value for the money, friendliness of service I received, and the good food quality earned my five stars. For a chain restaurant, they do well in their service here, in my opinion. I have used them on two visits to the area for breakfast and each time their service was excellent. They gave me exactly what I wanted and the food was good. Their strong point is breakfast. Our server was probably the worst I've ever had. She was slow and forgetful, just bad. As we checked out the store manager asked how everything was so I was honest. He said he didn't know the staff because it was his 3rd day there. He said sorry, I don't know the staff to know if that's just how she is or if she's having an off day. That's all he said. Not helpful of sincere in his apology. I was there with out of town guests that usually live the chain but we won't be visiting this location again. read more

The food was great, menu needs refining as you shouldn't have to ask questions about what it is you're getting. My server should not have assumed that just because I asked about what came with the country fried steak that I wanted it, I was asking what came with it. I had to ask the hostess when she passed to seat another customer where my waitress was and she showed up five minutes later, she also walked past my table four times and where I was seated she came from behind me and didn't stop once until she returned with my check... Had a bit of a problem getting served. Waited long enough we had decided to leave. BUT the manager caught us, apologized for her staffing problem, and personally served us. Food was great. Was surprised at how well the manager handled the situation. A little staffing work and it will be a 5* stop. read more

Usually I like Bob Evans but this place in Fairview Heights IL was the worst experience ever. It began with the waitress "dropping" the menus on the table. The drink order was incorrect (keep in mind there were two of us!). The waitress then did not return for our order. A manager came by the table and noted I was looking around "as if I needed help or wanted to place an order". She took our order and then communicated it to the waitress. Less than five minutes later the waitress came back to our table and stated "forgot what you ordered". I ordered the all you can eat soup and salad. The soup was lukewarm. I brought this to the attention of the waitress and she replied "I will warm it in the microwave....what I should have said was "have you heard of health standards". Could not eat the soup. The salad looked as if it had been out of the refrigerator for several hours. This is a terrible Bob Evans location. I went to McDonald's after we left. For health and safety reasons I would recommend to avoid this location. read more

I was there this evening with my family and my husband and we both ordered the turkey dinner and a salad. My granddaughter ordered the mac and cheese with a side of broccoli. The salad was standard. When the waitress brought our food she apologized and said they were running low on broccoli. So instead of waiting for the cook to make more she brought out my granddaughters mac and cheese with just a scant of broccoli on the side. She informed us that she would bring some more out when it was finished. I thought well ok then. However, both my husbands dinner and mine was cold also. When I went to bite into the dressing the underneath of the dressing I had found a hair. I informed the waitress and she said they would remake it and I could take it home with me. In the meantime the manager and two waitresses were behind the counter looking back at me off and on with dirty looks on their faces. My husband and I could clearly tell that they were talking about me. I felt very uncomfortable. We were very polite about the whole situation. When they brought the "new dinner" out I looked at it and it was the same food that I previously had. Instead of the slices of turkey on top of the dressing they were chopped up and mixed with the dressing. If you've ever had this dinner you know how it comes served with the turkey slices neatly on top of the dressing. I could also tell the turkey was the old turkey because of the way I had cut into it the first time. The mashed potatoes had three finger prints in them like they had just picked up the potatoes with their hands and threw it into the container. I just couldn't believe it! If I could have given them a negative 5 stars I would have. Please don't take your family to this restaurant! read more

I belong to a group that meets on Tuesday @8am for breakfast at the Fairview Heights, Il location. We have been doing this for several years. My check has gone up from $6.06 to $7.15 and I get the same thing every time. Country Biscuit and Coffee. this is a 18% increase which I think is tooo much. Amazing food and good friendly service. I was very worried about going here I usually go to Dennys, but very impressed food was hot and good and out fast and very resonalble priced. Very good priced cheaper than Mc Donalds, how about that for a change. Also the customer service was better than Dennys and food was hot not like at Dennys. read more
