LongHorn's ribeye was absolutely bussin'. The seasoning and char on this steak were on point, soo tender and delicious in its own juices and the mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery as hell and asparagus chard perfectly soft yet still had a crunch , they completed the plate perfectly. My only issue is they never seem to hit my temp correctly. I order medium-well and it usually comes out well-done, so at this point I might have to start ordering medium just to get what I want. My boyfriend and I took my dad out for Father's Day lunch and had a less than ideal experience. I don't recall our servers name, but we saw her maybe three times during our visit. My dad ordered a Flo filet with shrimp, I ordered the sirloin with the parm crust, and my boyfriend ordered the outback ribeye with shrimp. My dad's steak came out great. My steak came without the parm crust. My boyfriend was given a porterhouse without shrimp. My steak was sent back to get the parm and my boyfriend asked for the correct steak with shrimp. Refires got brought back out. My dish was as ordered. My boyfriend's steak was still sans shrimp, and was supposed to be MR but came out almost blue. He asked for his steak to be brought up. It came back out, still sans shrimp, and when we told our server she appeared to almost be annoyed with US even though she delivered our food incorrectly. She brought out the bill and said her manager comped 25% of the bill, which was very nice even though we were still charged for a porterhouse and not the ribeye. But we didn't want to inconvenience our server more than we apparently already had by the way she interacted with us. With my boyfriend and I both in the industry, we give a lot of grace when going out to eat because we always see the other side perspective. And with it being a holiday, we came in knowing it would probably be busy. The food, once delivered correctly, was good. But the service made the whole experience extremely disappointing. Was there on Saturday, and there is one thing that is consistently off. I wish the shain would look at the potato supplier, and investigate that super thick, and leathery skin on the them. They cover the skins of the potatoes with salt, but the skins are so thick that salt will never leech into the flesh. Also for those people that like eating the skin (which has all the nutrients), the skin is about as non appetizing as it can be. Next, can LHSH find a way to put some smoke in your baby back ribs? At the end of the day they taste almost as if they have been braised in an oven, and then tossed onto a fire once an order has to be filled. The meat while tender is fairly bland. read more

I don't know why I've never reviewed Longhorn. It's our go to place when we are in Fairview Heights (about once a quarter). We've never had a bad meal here. I love the French Onion soup. The broth has the hearty flavor that I like in this kind of soup. I tried baby back ribs for the first time this visit. The full rack. They are well sauced and they give some extra. I couldn't pick them up to eat because the meat totally fell off each bone, so it's a fork style rib. Very good flavor and very tender. My wife had a filet. She commented that we've never had a steak there that wasn't cooked to the right temperature, we are pretty picky about that. Finally, the baked potatoes are always good. Fantastic steak, almost as good as mine! My wife and I had the large and medium sized renegade steak which was delicious and perfectly prepared. They also have a wide range of sides. Service was fast, friendly and very professional. We went for a late lunch date on Valentine's Day thinking we would avoid the crowds but everyone else seemed to have the same idea. Baked potato was loaded and pretty delicious as well. Only downside is that our steaks came out about 60 seconds after our salads, so course stacking was an issue. The burger was pretty big and I was able to get full pretty quickly. The fries were my favorite cut and I devoured them. Also they cooked the burger how I liked, medium well done.
