We didn't love or hate it. There was definitely a lot of room for improvement. Our service was decent. We had Angela, and she was friendly and did a good job, with the exception of *possibly* getting my husband's order wrong (it could have been a kitchen error) and forgetting drink refills that she offered & I said yes to mid-meal. When we reminded her as we were getting ready to leave, she did bring my drink in a to-go cup, which was nice. The food was okay. My husband: He said the coffee was the best he's had at a restaurant in a long time! It went downhill from there. He had ordered the pancakes with caramel apple topping and instead they brought him French Toast. (He didn't bring this to the server's attention, as we know to never send food back) His eggs were greasy and not very good. He said his sausage links weren't traditional links, but more like regular sausage that had been made into links. He didn't like them. Me: I wouldn't recommend the gravy. It didn't look like the photos in the menu and tasted greasy and bland. My bacon, egg & cheese biscuit looked like a 4-year old had put it together. The biscuit was sliced completely crooked, so there wasn't exactly a way to fix that. I took a video of me dissecting it so I could put it back together right so I could actually eat it. (can't post videos here so I screenshotted some pics) Once it was put together as best I could (half the cheese was on the potatoes) it tasted good and seemed fresh. The home fries were fresh/hot, but bland. A little seasoning would be great.. As for ambiance, towards the mid-to-end of our meal, we could hear one of the servers upset (we were close to the kitchen) about losing a section. There was some banter from a gentleman, and then we didn't hear much else. We were in the back of the restaurant so otherwise, it was fairly quiet. As for cleanliness, it seemed fairly clean, except the windows next to us between the dining areas had dirty handprints all over them. We were never greeted by anyone other than our waitress. There did appear to be a manager there (the man who have been talking to the server) but he didn't speak to us at any point, even though we walked past him twice and they weren't busy at all. While we did give it a mid rating, we are willing to go back and try it again. There aren't a lot of breakfast choices after 10:00 a.m.. And there's only so much Cracker Barrel anyone can eat. We had not been to Bob Evan since before COVID in 2019, but we have been hearing good things. We hadn't visited in a couple years but had heard things were getting better. The waiter Chris was top notch, the General Manager, Rodney Congo was so kind, polite and helpful. It is a relaxing atmosphere and not overwhelming loud, even though it was busy. The eggs were cooked correctly, but the pancakes were amazing. Worth a updated try for breakfast. If you are like us and stepped away it may be a good time to revisit them. read more

Me and my daughter ordered their Pot roast with potatoes and carrots and husband ordered the omelet with home fries. To start with he order onions and he got none which happens they gave him them after we said something. My daughter's pot roast was ice cold so we sent it back then they microwaved it which completely ruined the taste of it. Then my potato's and carrots came straight from the fridge to my plate absolutely gross at this time I got annoyed and spoke with the manager who just microwaved my food and returned it. The bill was 51 dollars for garbage. They could have at least discounted the bill. The service was terrible the server forgot to bring out the hot sauce each time we asked so we gave up . Never been to a Bob Evans. We were really pleased today for lunch. Friends of ours are major fans but hadn't been to one in a long time. The 4 of us had a GREAT server named Angie (Angela). 'Hungry Hubby' ordered "Whole Hog Farmer's Choice" which consisted of: home fries, bacon, ham, link & patty sausage, and topped of with a plate containing a pancake & a French toast. I had a plate of French toast & bacon, the best tasting and most filling I have had! A side order of the "Blue Ribbon Bacon" also was ordered with my share (yes we all love BACON!) It arrived in a pan, topped with maple & black pepper... YUM! Our friend's wife raved about the Biscuts & gravy and she throughly enjoyed that for her order. Her hubby had the "Farmer's Choice" and it was over the top major 'pig out' !!! We had a great time and left so stuffed!!! Can't wait to visit here again. read more

Unfortunately disappointed again with Bob Evans, Service wasnt horrible but wasn't great. I ordered the BBQ Rancher potato's and wow was I disappointed in the food they provided. Barley any meat except for it being in big chunks/ a drizzle of bbq sauce and ranch. Meat was not flavorful pretty bland. Also had to ask for chives THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON MY FOOD. I do understand that Bob Evans caters to the older crowd but they really need to follow the menu provided and work with there employees instead of them yelling at one another across the restaurant. Also they need to consider that someone at the table may have a food allergy and need to ask everyone at the table if there are any allergies. The staff needs to be trained way better than what I have witnessed today. read more

We came in as a large party of 20 after a funeral. Folks in the party appeared at different times but everyone ordered at once. We had one server but the handled the crowd well. There was a variety of food ordered from breakfast to dinner and I did not hear anyone complain or see anyone send anything back. The waitress kept up with drink refills and brought extra condiments and other items as requested. I had the knife and fork turkey sandwich and it was warm and tasty comfort food after an emotional couple of days, it hit the spot. We had multiple checks and that was handled with easy. I'm usually very pleased with my experience here , it's honestly one of my favorite places to eat in Somerset but tonight the service was terrible, I understand if a restaurant is busy that things will be slower but there was a total of 4 tables filled in the entire dining room . Sean was our waiter and we got one drink refill the entire meal. I ordered a steak and by the time I finally got someone to bring me a steak knife my entire meal was ice cold . Will not be returning in the near future, and kind of hope the rumors that the place might be closing for good are true . Sorry Bob Evans , you really let down a faithful customer tonight. read more

Absolutely horrible wait time for food. Took server 5 minutes to even ask for our drink order and that was after I asked for a waitress. The manager finally took our order and we waited 45 minutes for our food to finally come out. I asked multiple times what the hold up was and nobody could give me a reason until the order was almost brought out to us. Went there tonight for first time ever and we waited an hour to receive half our order cold. When we called the assistant manager over and explained he was rude his solution was to sit and wait while new food was made or he can just reheat it. I told him i did not want to wait another hour and to reheat it in microwave. I even pointed out salt shaker was went and clumpy. He said oh thats just our building. At that point i was just done. He had no concern or anything was just rude. Oh and he offered me coupons as a smoothe things over. Why would i come back to a place where it takes an hour to get partial order of cold food? We went in for dinner just last week and the service was bad AND weird. Our waiter was slow and mostly just stood around watching everyone. And when he did finally remember to serve us he brought out the wrong food and then the right food but mine was over cooked and my husbands was freezing cold. He was awkward and bowed to us like a Japanese solder and he would flip his really long hair down onto our table and into our food! Then he would stand at an uncomfortable distance and watch us attempt to pick at whatever it was that he brought us and he would just stand there WATCHING! We will NOT be going back and we did not tip. My husband had to leave early so he did assault the guy for getting in his face. On top of that you could tell the food was microwaved when the ice cold food was taken back to be fixed they microwaved the crap out of it. They also had way too many waiters and not enough cooks. There was 7 clearly under trained waiters and only one cook who clearly didn't want to be there and didn't care about his job. We could hear everyone around us complaining to their waiters about the food AND the servers. This place needs new management BAD. It use to be such a nice place for a home cooked meal and a warm friendly face. Now it's a garbage dump with a bunch of kids running it who don't know anything and don't care. The food sucks and the service sucks. Fix it or leave Somerset so something better can come along. read more

There were 4 people in my party. When we first walked in, it took about 2 minutes for the hostess to tell us it would be a 10 minute wait. After waiting, she seats us at the wall by the windows, which is fine. Except there were about 10 tables completely cleaned and there was no reason to wait. I look around and all of the booths had dishes on them. Our waitress was not attentive at all. We were there for about 2 hours, when it usually only takes us 45 minutes to an hour to eat. We ordered our drinks, which was fine, but then we ordered rolls and banana bread. We got rolls, and one piece of pumpkin bread and the crusty ends of the banana loaf. It took about 45 minutes to get our entrees, my friend looked at my caramel mocha and decided to get one for herself, and it came out cold. When she asked for another, she asked if it could be a little hotter, our waitress said "I don't know, it's just how it comes out of the machine." The same friend ordered the biscuit bowl, and it had burnt potatoes in it. Also, our waitress did not come to check on us but once, did not clear plates, and didn't ask how we liked our food. Someone that wasn't our server actually came and cleared our table. We were there for over 2 hours. And all of the booths in the restaurant were still covered with dishes. The staff looks like they just kinda stand around and give you food and wait for you to leave and then not clean the tables for a couple hours. Definitely not coming back for a long time. Subpar food now, terrible service. read more

Several tables remained unbussed, our table was in desperate need of having the carpet cleaned after a biscuit had been dropped. The waitress was adequate but not overly attentive. Food was adequate. Service is hit or miss at this Bob Evans. I've had great service and poor service at this location. Today it wasn't horrible but it wasn't very good. They seemed short handed but it didn't appear busy. Every customer had to ask for silverware because they didn't give it too you when they seated you . Staff was carrying on behind the counter seemed to be more important they the folks in the dining room. Had to remind them about things they forgot to bring that were a part of my meal. Took them 20 minutes to tell me they were out of something I ordered and the replacement item wasn't a very quick delivery. I think I'll drive to the Cracker Barrel next time... read more

Could tell from the beginning that this was going to be a flop. Walked in and all employees just looked at us as to do you really want something. Was finally seated and given menus. Had to wait a bit to place order for drinks. Drinks arrive, and placed order. Each time the waiter walked by he would say your meals are almost ready, should have asked about drinks also. @$2.45 a drink should have been worried about it along with getting the meal out. We were not facing the kitchen but our son was and he seen when our meals were ready. Now there wasnt much time involved when the meals were ready to when they were served to us. As soon as the plates were set in front of us we found out real quick the all the sides were cold. As if the just came out of the refer. So we told the waiter before he was done sitting the plates. Mash potatoes, Mac and Cheese, Green beans and ham was all the sides we had and they were all cold. He said he would put in for replacement. So what was we suppose to do but wait. But than the meat portions of what we ordered started to get cold so we thought we better start eating that before it got cold. Now the meat was gone before we got our sides back to us, which they dump it on a small plate and nuked it in the micro. So it was hot but dint taste very good since we had to eat them not as a meal. Also ordered 2 roast turkeys meals and did finally got the cranberry sauce after the sides were finished. I guess that at that place you eat everything in different stages than as a meal. Than do believe that it was a manger came and asked how was everything and explained to her what we experienced she said that she informed her kitchen personnel that they were to start inserting a thermometer in the sides to make sure that all the food was hot. Nothing about how can I make this right for you. Just got a check for $50.00 worth of food where it would have been better just staying in the motel room and order a cardboard pizza. Wanted to have a nice meal with our son we were visiting there and it was disaster.....
