Just as an update: I came back and got the oxtail, the limu poke, and the taro turnover. I missed…read morethe malasadas by a few minutes. The oxtail soup was really good: the broth seemed like it has a good amount of shoyu in it (it was dark), and had really nice beef flavor. There were also some shiitake mushrooms, which added to the umami, and fresh cilantro which, paired with the grated ginger, really complemented the savory elements. The oxtails were super tender and plentiful. The meat was well seasoned and fell off the bone. I've eaten a lot of oxtail soup, and this was really good. The limu poke was also solid. The limu was a nice touch: it's not as frequent to see it on the mainland, and I like the smoky flavor it imparts on the poke. The taro turnover was a revelation. It was so good it didn't make it to photos. The pastry crust was flakey, the taro was warm and sweet, and the Carmel drizzle was really nice. It does take 20 minutes to get the turnover, but I think it's worth it.

Not sure if it was an off day but portions were lackluster and what we ordered was nothing special…read more I got the loco Moco. For $17 I expected to get two patties. Just got one and it was pretty dry. Gravy was nothing special. Mac salad was pretty bland until I added some white pepper. The garlic shrimp was a puny portion of five small shrimp. Pretty disappointing.. have had much better Hawaiian places in Vegas.

My first time at Koibito Poke and I'm honestly blown away…read more From the moment I walked in, I noticed how clean everything was. It was spotless. The tables were so clean you could literally see the reflection off of them. That alone stood out immediately. Dean helped me with my order and his service was top tier. He was cleaning when I came in and after taking my order he went right back to working instead of standing around. He was very patient, took his time, and really listened to what I needed. I told him I wanted something specific, light but filling for a workout, and he gave thoughtful recommendations that ended up creating the perfect bowl. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I needed. I was also unsure about what sauce to get and Heavenly recommended two sauces for me to try together. I mixed them myself and it ended up being the perfect combination for my bowl and really brought everything together. They both stayed attentive the entire time, even as more customers came in, making sure everyone was acknowledged without ever making me feel overlooked. That balance is rare. The food is fresh, the store is incredibly clean, and the team is clearly hardworking and knowledgeable. Whoever the manager or owner is should feel extremely confident in this team because their work ethic clearly shows they care about the business and the company and are exceeding expectations. This wasn't even a planned stop. I just came in while driving. Because of this experience I will absolutely be back and I'm bringing my husband next time because he would love this place. 10 out of 10. I highly recommend this spot.

3 stars -- and I genuinely want to give it more, because this place has real potential…read more Koibito is new, clean, and the staff is wonderfully friendly. The vibe is great for a grab-and-go poke spot. The fresh veggies, fruit, and crab mix? All solid. But here's the thing -- I ordered the First Timer Bowl, and the tuna should be the star of the show. With so many ingredients competing, the fish gets completely lost. And when I did find it... it wasn't cold. Poke is raw fish. It has to be cold. That's non-negotiable. I've spent most of my life in the Pacific Islands, so I know what fresh poke tastes like -- and this missed the mark on the fish quality. This is Las Vegas, with a large Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community that knows the difference. I feel for this place because the bones are there. Simplify the bowls, let the fish speak for itself, and get the temperature right. I'll be rooting for them to level up.

Updated review: I went here recently with my man, I loved…read more& appreciated that they had veggie options for me, in place of rice & mac salad. I have prediabetes, so I eat a low carb diet. I can't have rice, mac salad or heavy carbs like I used to (ugh, I know lol). Or I'll feel really sick. So I ordered kimchi and also asked what veggies they have, and I loved that they were able to make me a side of broccoli, and the amount was more than I expected!! (huge plate, see photos) I truly appreciate that. I love broccoli. Some Hawaii food restaurants don't have any veggies at all lol so I am SO grateful they had these. I was craving breakfast, so I got the Pocho plate, Portuguese sausage and eggs. My man got the katsu don, he enjoyed it. We also got unagi, which was ono! We went on a Sunday about 1pm & it wasn't busy and got seated right away in the dining area. Service was great, I truly appreciate them! I've enjoyed coming here for dine in, sushi, take out over the many years and I'm glad they are still here! We will be back! Mahalo and Aloha!!! Chelle

This was easily our best dining experience in Vegas!…read more Island Sushi and Grill has been on our list for a while now, and we unfortunately chose to show up late in the evening, soon after they had a massive surprise party show up. Nonetheless, they were incredibly sweet and accommodating, constantly checking in and apologizing for delays, even though I found service surprisingly swift, especially considering the circumstances! On top of incredible service, the food was DELICIOUS. My poke bowl was absolutely perfect, and my partner's kalbi was tender, perfectly charred, and tasty I am beyond grateful for the meal and service, and we will most certainly return for more!
