Bobaholics have a seating area inside where you can chill and drink with friends. Surprisingly, they also have a scratcher and lottery machine which I thought was pretty cool and convenient. Anyways, I ordered their Brown Sugar milk tea with crystal boba (white boba) and it was so good! The drink came out pretty fast since I arrived when they just opened. The prices here are moderate and fair for boba drinks. They also have some snacks to order such as popcorn calamari, popcorn chicken, waffles, crepes, and so on. The black tea combo came out exactly like how i wanted. The Salted cheese is thicker than the sea salt crema. For those two combined with viet coffee I recommend between 50-75% sugar depending on how strong you want the coffee flavor to come out, and AT LEAST 50% ice--when you combine it with the salted cheese/sea salt cream it makes the drink super creamy to the point where it's thick--to make the texture more crisp you need it diluted; the concept im talking about is like the bottled ca phe sua da you can get from Lee's Sandwiches--if you drink it out of the bottle its super rich; the instructions on it tell you to pour it over ice! read more

Updating my review to tell you about my new favorite items from here! Recently I've become sensitive to caffeine and was really sad that I couldn't buy drinks from here anymore. Then I discovered their Creme Brûlée Latte and Strawberry Dream Latte. These items do not have Tea/Caffeine and I can drink them! These drinks are effing amazing! I get them lactose free because I'm lactose intolerant. I also looooove their Creme Brûlée croissant! I'm telling you, idk how, but this place just keeps getting better and better as time goes on. Came here with a friend on a Wednesday afternoon to do some work (they gave free WiFi) and was able to grab a table easily. There weren't that many dine-in customers but the shop consistently had people coming in to order. The staff explained their speciality drinks well and made the drinks super quickly too! I got the crème brûlée latte with boba, 50% sweetness and less ice. I prefer my drinks to not be too sweet, so the adjustment was perfect for me while still letting the brown sugar flavor come through. Really. awesome. boba. I can't believe that I've been driving past this place for the last 6 months -- it's amazing! This boba shop has a nice mix of milk tea, fruit teas, and smoothies/icy drinks. I've tried the Mother of Dragons, the Apple Jacks, and the Kiwi Go Again. All tasted absolutely delicious! The drinks are pretty sweet, so if that's not your jam, you might want to ask for less sugar. And get this: they have a "bucket" size that is 32 oz. Yeah, a "bucket"! While it's not really a "bucket," it's still a really really big cup (think Starbucks' trenta). Bobaholics is conveniently located across the street from H-mart, so whenever I'm in the area, I can just pop right on over. This is one of my new favorite boba places in San Jose! read more

The first thing I noticed when I came here was how cute and cozy this place is. There are couches were you can lounge on and it's quite comfy. My friend and I came here around lunch time and it wasn't really crowded. We ordered the cream jasmine milk tea and hokkaido milk tea. The cream jasmine milk tea tasted like your average jasmine milk tea so I wasn't blown away or anything. As for the hokkaido milk tea I think it was too sweet for my liking. It had a strong caramel flavor that overpowered the tea. If you get this drink I would suggest 50% sweetness. With so many boba places in the bay area I don't think this place stands out. read more

Updating my review to a 4 star because the takoyaki were surprisingly delicious and I found my go-to drink: golden milk tea with salted cream cheese. These two menu items were good enough to make me a returning customer. Besides the bonito flakes and drizzles of Japanese mayo and sauces, which are generally common toppings on takoyaki, I'm convinced that Bobaholics' takoyaki has a unique recipe and is made in-house. But I mean, who knows? Since I didn't ask, I could be wrong and come to find out that Bobaholics uses frozen takoyaki out of a wholesale bag from some commercial brand. If that's the case, Bobaholics does a hell of a good job setting their takoyaki apart from other places. There's something about the crispiness and thickness of the shell that got me thinking someone actually may have dredged the ball before frying. I appreciated the chopped scallions inside the filling, which were not something I've noticed in takoyaki I've tried at other places. I also thought that the takoyaki were quite generous with squid. I recently found out from Bobaholics that golden milk tea is apparently "a thing." It's vanilla flavored black milk tea. Super simple, but pretty good. I also got it with salted cream cheese, which brought the perfect balance of sweet and saltiness that I was looking for. I will say that some employees at Bobaholics still need more training. When I was stuck ordering my drink, I asked the server what the difference between the salted cream cheese and sea salt cream was. I honestly didn't know, because that was my first time seeing both on the menu. They might as well have been the exact same thing to me. The server replied, "the salted cream cheese is like cheese and the sea salt cream is like cream." That wasn't a sufficient answer for me. I asked her to elaborate further, but she couldn't even tell me anything more about them. Thankfully another employee jumped in and helped educate me on the differences between the two. He described how the salted cream cheese was thicker so it sits at the top of the drink as opposed to the sea salt cream that blends into the drink more easily. (DUH!) I've tried them both, and they tasted exactly the same so it really comes down to a preference in consistency. read more

The drink overall is very sweet, so definitely get it 50% or less which I forgot, but the boba, branded as honey boba, is not sweet at all, even accounting for the potential effect of the sweetness "canceling" out when placed in a high sugar content drink. If you want to add anything to this watery "milk tea" be prepared to pay an additional 50-75 cents on top of a $4.25 price point. The ordering experience here is like having to pay for every single little frill/decision on an airline from basic seating to a carry-on bag. Or think of ordering a salad from a restaurant/cafe, and the standard base price includes only lettuce and every basic add-on even dressing is an added charge.
