My friend and I got drinks and some snacks. We tried calling, but we got no answer, and it sent a text message to our phone saying that they weren't available at the time, and to message them our order. There was no confirmation text in the next 10 minutes we drove over, but we figured no worries. We got there and there was only 1 person ahead of us who had also just gotten there. It didn't seem like they were busy actually, so not sure why they didn't get our message or confirm with us. Even then, we still had to wait in line and for them to manually put our order in. Not sure if the text I'm ordering was convenient in the end. Their boba isn't that great. The milk teas didn't seem very fresh. Like the other reviewers mentioned, it seemed like powdered drink. The tea taste wasn't very strong for my oolong milk tea, and it didn't taste like oolong. It seemed more like a hint of thai milk tea mixed with another tea. The boba was also not sweetened, and was pretty bland. The drink was 80% sweet but it wasn't sweetened much at all. Probably was meant to be 100% sweet with their powder to get the optimal, not-so-watered down drink. At least their snacks were decent. We ordered a popcorn chicken and sesame balls. The popcorn chicken came out hot and fresh, and the batter was good. They provide dipping sauce but they don't put any cayenne pepper on top, which I wished they did. The sesame ball was good! Crispy, but chewy. I'd stick to the snacks here rather than the drinks. Service was fine. They are currently doing a raffle for an iPhone 12. Every drink you order is 1 raffle ticket and every snack you order is 2 raffle tickets? They also do a 10% off discount everyday if you show your frontliner badge (healthcare workers, firefighters, police officers) or if you show up in uniform. They also have daily deals too, such as 50% off 1 drink on Mondays if you're a frontliner. read more

Unfortunately I have to give them a 2, not for their drinks but for the service. I came in today (as im sitting here waiting for my drinks) because I just received a discount texted to me. Literally on my text and says to ONLY show my text. But then they made me put my number in and the discount was not on my phone number?? So confused. Not my problem right? As the text only says to SHOW THE TEXT and it's avail at T4 & Bobaology. Well apparently not. And they would not honor at all. During a trip out to green acres nursery we were craving boba tea and we found Bobaology! Very clean establishment. Walking in we were greeted with excellent customer care. You can tell they take pride in their ownership. There were I believe 19 different Tea options! They also have a rare Taro boba crystal. They offered me a sample and it was amazing! Taro is always my go to favorite boba tea. This time I wanted to try something new. I ordered the Tiger milk tea boba (which is a brown sugar tea) and my guy ordered the Thai milk tea boba. Bobaology replaced Gongcha in Ranch 99 shopping center. I honestly have to say that I miss Gongcha. While it's nice to have another boba shop in town, the quality of bobaology's tea and boba is lacking. I agree with other people's comments on this being another T4. I actually think it's a bit under T4 because T4's tea has slightly more tea favor and they have more snack options like bubble wraps. I got the oolong milk tea with taro agar boba. The tea again, lacks the authentic tea flavor and seemed really diluted or they brewed it using poor quality tea. The only plus is the taro agar boba actually had a pleasant taro taste to it. I wouldn't call it boba per se... agar really is made of seaweed rather than starch -- healthier, but not as chewy (has an interesting tough texture to it). If you want the boba chew, agar will not be that. My coworker who got the regular black boba said, "it lacks a good chew. It seems as if it's been overcooked or sitting out for too long. It also doesn't have that nice black sugar/honey flavor to it. I prefer T4s." We also got a few snacks ... -Popcorn Chicken (4/5) - good taste and seasoning, but oily -Fried Tofu (1/5) - very soggy and not good at all. I think the batter they used to fry this is the wrong type of batter. It's sticky and doesn't give it a nice crunch after it's fried; gets soggy super quickly. It also lacked seasoning. -Fried jumbo prawns with shrimp crackers (4/5) - nice flavor and perfectly seasoned. Overall, I'd really give this place a 2/5, but because they have interesting agar boba flavors, I'm bumping it up to 3 stars. bobaology is one of my favorite boba spots in the area. the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient. the place is always clean, with tons of seating for you to enjoy. it's in a big shopping center so parking is never an issue. plus the drinks are always fantastic; even when they're slammed! their thai milk tea is by far the best i've had from placerville to folsom. others are too creamy, or lack flavor but bobaology's thai milk tea always comes out consistently on top! their milk tea is delicious too. tried their house coffee for the first time and it reminded me a lot of vietnamese iced coffee.. YUM. not to mention, their boba is the PERFECT texture -- not too hard, not too chewy. they have an electronic stamp card feature which is great. cheers for not having to carry around another stamp card LOL. another thing i love about bobaology is you can order with varied sweetness and ice %, and actually get what you ordered! i've been to so many places where i say 25% sweet and it's WAAAAY too sweet. bobaology nails it EVERY dang time. last but not least, i love that they honor student discounts, as well as discounts for first responders, and more! they definitely care about their customers. overall, HIGHLY recommend bobaology for all your boba and tea cravings! read more

The honeydew still tasted good. The pearls weren't as sweet or flavorful as I'd like, they were just ok. I'm from the bay area where there's a boba shop in every corner so I should have lowered my expectations. I heard Folsom doesn't really have any boba / milk tea place and that this place was kind of new so maybe they're still working on all the kinks. Pretty good This is the nearest boba shop to me so I go here, good enviornment fun to hang out with friends. They have board games you can play and pretty ample seating and people filter out sorta quickly so you will likely find seats, there are two tables outside aswell. Boba itself is good, the reason my review is 4 stars and not 5 is because a few times I have gone and my boba has tasted a bit watered down or just kinda off.. I was really surprised and in a good way. With all the cross promotion with T4, I was expecting a cookie cutter. A cookie-cutter it was not. The basic menu was the same (categories, instructions, etc.), but the flavors where slightly different. Like they still had Jasmine Milk Tea but there were new flavors like Lavender, Black Sugar Caramel, and some others. My friend and I ordered the Lavender and Jasmine Milk Teas. The Lavender was a nice and refreshing drink. I ordered it 80% sweet and 30% ice. The Jasmine Milk Tea was really good and a big surprise. It was lighter and tasted slightly different than the one at T4. I dare say we both thought it was a little better. Overall I thought it was good and will definitely be back. read more

Decided to try the placed that took over the much loved Gong Cha boba tea, so we stepped into Bobaology. Loved the flavor of my smoothie but sadly the boba was inferior. Disappointed that the boba tasted like it was the bottom of the barrel. Barely round, barely chewy and more of a desentigrating taste; like it was boiled 3 days ago and they are trying to get rid of it.
