i love this cafe!!!! first, the workers there are SO sweet. they're genuinely the best part of this cafe constantly recognizing regulars and being so genuinely interested in each persons life! they build such a great and genuine connection i love it. the cafe is super cute with ample seating and outlets making it the perfect spot to study. it's never too loud and i honestly enjoy the music they play. all the drinks NEVER miss honestly they're sooooo good! the desserts look so good and i always get tempted to buy one but haven't yet. even though this cafe is so far from where I live id drive the 30 minutes to study here because I love it a ton. Qamaria is hands down my new favorite coffee shop in Folsom. As soon as you walk in, you're transported into a very middle eastern themed cafe. There's great lighting, plenty of seating, cute decor and spaces to sit whether to hangout with friends or study. The outside patio is also really cute and perfect whenever the weather is warm. They have a mix of cultural coffee drinks and more modern selections such as matcha and flavored teas. My favorite drinks are the date latte (a seasonal drink) and the pistachio latte. Late night coffee runs just hit different at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co.. Came here after a Yelp Elite All-Star event and an after hangout with some of the All-Stars, and somehow this place still had the energy cranked all the way up at 10pm. The place was packed with people laughing, talking stories, and just soaking in the vibe. Even with how busy it was, the place stayed clean, the line moved smooth, and the baristas were awesome the whole time. Friendly, welcoming, and still keeping the energy up late into the night. I grabbed the iced Mufawaa and a baklava roll, and both absolutely delivered. That drink gave me the perfect boost before heading up the hill to my partner's house in Cameron Park, and the baklava roll was the little sweet knockout punch I didn't know I needed. I haven't had this type/flavor of latte before and wasn't sure what I'd be getting or what to expect. It wasn't overly sweet nor artificially tasting; it had a nutty profile, and I could've easily gulped the drink down since it tasted so good. Pleasant and friendly customer service. Beautiful coffee/bakery shop with Yemeni cultural elements in full effect. I recently discovered that Qamaria has locations all across the US; for a franchise, they have done well to not appear as a cookie cutter establishment. I dropped by with several of my friends to pass the time and had a great experience. I opted for the strawberry dragonfruit refresher (~$8). It's a delightful topical drink for a sunny day. I mainly picked it out since I'm not much of a caffeine enthusiast, but I would recommend starting with the pistachio latte for all the coffee drinkers out there. The caramel milkcake was very sweet. I expected a lighter taste based on appearance (kind of like tiramisu) but was an excellent dessert nonetheless. Not sure if I'd spend $11 on it again though. If I lived closer to Folsom, I'd foresee myself visiting regularly for the ornate decorations and wide variety of unique pastries. read more

Updated - What a wonderful place. The owner is so sweet, and the staff are so kind as well! I always order the pistachio latte, but the brown sugar oat latte is incredible as well. Their espresso is perfectly nutty and goes so well with their flavors. Their pastries are ALL SO GOOD too, and the kunafeh always takes the cake. We see "Yemeni Coffee" as he pass through Folsom, and think, "We'll have to go back". Then someone tells us, "That's one of my out of town client's favorite places. So we stopped in at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee, so see what they had to offer. *Back story* last year I'd come across Yemeni coffee for the first time, and love the spices typically used in it; making it one of my favorite styles of coffee now. So it was nice to see that Folsom has a Yemeni coffee spot as well. When my girlfriend and I stopped in we immediately noticed the dessert and Yemeni treat display near the front entrance. Full of an assortment of sweet and savory treats like, Chocolate Baklava, Almond Croissants, mango cheesecake, Rose Milkcake, and Pistachio Kunafa cheesecake, and Basbousa, just to name a few. Because we'd just had coffee a few course prior we opted not to get coffee this time around but my girlfriend and I ordered the following: Drinks: Adeni Tea (Shai) Wild peach refresher Outside of the drinks being delicious, we like the decore inside the establishment, like the beautiful murals of people and lighting. But I also like the visual display on the wall near the entrance. Telling the history of coffee and it's direct connection to connection to Yemen. I was literally today years old when I found out coffee originated in Yemen more than 500 year ago. And that the term "Mocha" comes from the name of the port in Yemen. My date and I are always open to try different coffee shops. It's a first to try Yemeni coffee and so glad we gave it a try. It's surrounded by business offices. It appears that the locals are drawn to it as well and not just it's neighbors. When visiting, prepare to indulge on some of their baked goods. Wanted to try them all but ended up having the Lotus Cheesecake. It was absolutely delicious. Not overly sweet and yet so flavorful. Became an instant fan of their Pistachio Latte and Mufawaar Coffee. Both are creamy and unique than what I'm typically used to. Dogs are allowed at their outdoor patio, but not indoors. It does not get more authentic than that. All drinks are served on the most beautiful trays. It totally elevates the experience. Elegant. My GF loves the teas. She tries a different one each time... hot and iced. We are both hooked on the cheesecakes. The Yemeni-inspired breakfast and dessert items are many. The wonderful, patient staff happily explain any of the foods and their ingredients and taste expectations... sweet or savory. Qamaria is opened until 11 p.m. Which makes it a popular meeting place at night. Cozy, with Arabic music in the background and, of course, the middle eastern decor is genuine Yemen style for sure. The location is in a bit of a tricky spot, but it is worth it once you are there. There is a lot of great seating, and they have a pretty extensive menu. I got a matcha latte, and the person I was with got hot chocolate. We both loved our drinks. I do not like sweet matcha drinks, and this was not sweet at all, which I greatly appreciated. I tried a few food items, and everything was good. The spinach fatayer was decent, but not necessarily my thing. It was definitely fresh, but just not what I was expecting with what seemed like boiled spinach as the main part of the filling. The honeycomb bread/cake was served warm, and while I am not a honey person, I would definitely get this again. The Baklava in all forms was incredible, and held up for multiple days. The Dubai Bar was the most expensive thing, but I can see why. It was very good, although I probably would not spend that much on it again. I do appreciate that it is sourced from a local company, though. Everything was a bit pricey, so that would be my only complaint. I have been wanting to go here for quite some time. I finally had the opportunity to go last weekend and it is everything and more!! Talk about quality coffee, you can taste it. Not only do they have amazing coffee, they have an array of yummy sweet and savory snacks to choose from. The guy that helped is was very helpful with recommendations when my husband had questions. I got the Pistachio Iced Latte and my husband got the Qamaria iced latte. The Pistachio latte was delicious!! I tasted the Pistachio sauce they make when I used a straw at the bottom and you can tell they use real Pistachios and not a syrup. The Qamaria iced latte was also very good! Tastes like cinnamon and cardamom, a flavor profile I really enjoy. I definitely recommend mixing both drinks pretty well to ensure you're getting all the flavors. My husband went back this week and got us more coffee and the Pistachio milk cake. The milk cake was very yummy and tasted like tres leches. 10/10 recommend! Not only is the coffee very good, but it is very cute and cozy inside too, such a nice place to sit and enjoy your coffee and work if you needed to, or visit with friends and family. The place has ample seating indoor and outdoor, the decor is really nice. I had the Sheeba drink which is a tea with low caffeine, it was good. We also got a slice of the baklava pie to share between 2 people, but unfortunately a little on the drier side, not much flavor, but had a ton of pistachios. Not sure if the baklava squares are different but maybe I would try them next time. I wish they had more decaf options as they are one of the few cafes opened late but a really nice hang out spot.
