I came in to get some macarons for Valentine's Day, *ON* Valentine's Day. I got there at just in time, because they only had a few left. Basically, I lucked out. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. I liked the place. It is a smaller area for seating, but they have a good menu. The food menu is a bit smaller, things such as breakfast, burritos, avocado toast, croissants, etc.... They have a good baked goods section, and they make very good coffee, as is their name. I got a box of macarons for Valentine's Day, plus one for myself, the macaron was tender, and had an amazing flavor. The person I got the Macarons for, she did like them. I also got myself a white mocha, which I liked very much. It wasn't too sweet, and the coffee was deep and rich. The price for everything was very reasonable. I'll be honest, I'm bumping to four because the place was nice, the barista was super friendly, and they have a great assortment of pastries on display that were being enjoyed by the patrons. But my only purchase today was a straight espresso, and this one was fairly middling. Ever so slightly on the bitter side, it was definitely into the "nuts and chocolate" area of flavors, so towards the darker end, but I do need to stress, it's much better than the popular coffee chains. On our drive back to LA from Lake Tahoe, I Yelped "Folsom breakfast" and this spot popped up glowing with recommendations. We pulled in excited for both food and coffee... but quickly learned this is very much a coffee-first, food-optional situation. The coffee? Pretty solid. I ordered the honey lavender latte and enjoyed it. My daughter's iced vanilla latte also passed the teen approval test. Minor head-scratcher: I ordered my latte "for here" and still got a to-go cup. Now, the food. Oof. I'd strongly recommend sticking to baked goods (I didn't try them, but guessing that would be a better option) The avocado toast was a letdown. Imagine a teeny, paper-thin, cold piece of toast topped with a small smear of avocado that tasted more "packaged" than fresh, a drizzle of balsamic glaze, two lonely feta crumbles, and a sliced hard-boiled egg... served cold... on the side. It did come with a side salad, which felt like an apology. We also ordered a croissant sandwich (ham, Swiss, and scrambled eggs), which unfortunately did not sit well with my husband. The eggs tasted like they may have come from a carton. The staff was nice, but the service model was confusing. When I'm prompted to tip at checkout and there are tables and seating, I assume some level of table service. Instead, we picked up our own coffee, food, silverware, and napkins, and at the end, we also got the honor of bussing our own plates back to the counter. Full-circle dining experience. Bonus details: - They had one single packet of hot sauce left in the entire place - The salt shaker was completely solidified (we did ask for more, but the replacement had exactly one functioning hole) * And just to keep you on your toes, the front door pushes instead of pulls. A small thing, but somehow on-brand. Bottom line: Come here if you want a custom coffee. If you're hungry, manage expectations... or honestly, stick with good old Starbucks for consistency, fewer surprises, and doors that behave. read more

Place is a lot smaller than I imagined. However, my experience was great. Came around 10am. We were greeted when we entered the door. Placed our order in the front. I got a hot caramel latte and the Papua panini. Coffee came out after 5 minutes. Food came out in 10 min. They both tasted great. Nice little place to have brunch and chat with friends. Ehhh, okay at best. The brew in my iced Mexican mocha tasted very plain-Jane. Pour over tasted watered down (cup wasn't even filled to the top). As for food, the lox in the lox bagel wasn't of high quality (overly salty and a tad slimy). Dry chicken in the Calabrian chicken sandwich. The strawberry eclair was alright; tasty filling albeit a bit dense (was more cream-cheese-forward when I was expecting something custard-y). Not the most accommodating service either. I asked the cashier lady about available pour over options here and her reply was along the lines of "we can do any of the beans here." Not helpful to me as a first-time customer lol. I felt like it was a gem to find in the summer because it was a cute coffee spot with AC and restrooms for when you want somewhere to stay out of the heat. This particular World Travelers Coffee Roasters location is one of my favorites! The atmosphere is upbeat and positive. Big windows provide a lot of light, whether sunny or not. Which lends to the great view of the always busy yet interesting E. Bidwell thorough fare. On this particular visit, I was craving a honey lavender coffee and one of the many pastries that are offered. Blame it on the rain:). Hot coffee, warmed pastry... Definitely calling to me! It's always so nice to enter any business and have smiling faces and hellos from the peeps behind the counter. Today, that was three beautiful ladies full of energy and greeting me with their bubbly enthusiasm. I love that! Chatting with them while ordering my extra hot, honey lavender, and yummy looking pistachio muffin was pleasurable as I was not in my cray cray hurry up mode. Obviously, I am not the only one who enjoys World Travelers on East Bidwell as it was packed! The hum of talking, the laptops clicking and solo people sipping and staring into space. Oh yeah! We were in the area and decided to stop by. This place is in a shopping center so plenty of parking. It looks like any regular coffee shop but when you walk in you are blown away. First the decor is beautiful and top tier. Very clean inside. The pastries are top tier definitely one of the best we have seen. We ordered a vanilla latte hot and a hazelnut iced latte. The girl who rang us up was very helpful. The girl who did my drink Ellis went above and beyond. I like my drink sweet so she said if it's not sweet enough tell me and I'll add a little more syrup. I've given this place multiple chances and I'm consistently disappointed. The coffee is bitter, poorly balanced, and tastes burnt more often than not. We were shopping in Folsom and decided to go get coffee on the way back home . I found this place on Yelp and it looked really good and highly rated. We got here almost an hour before closing time . There was still people inside drinking their coffee. The vibe I got coming in was not inviting at all. I felt like the young lady just wanted to close already. All of the pastries were wrapped up some of the lights in the background were turned off. When ordering the coffee, she said it would have to be in to-go cups because she had a lot of dishes. I don't know if it's just me but , I like drinking my coffee out of a cup mug if I'm going to sit down in the actual place. I don't know if this establishment washes their dishes by hand or I would think and hope they have a dishwater lol .. Like I said the vibe I got was we were being rushed out because they wanted to close in an hour. I did tell the girl if there was anyway I could have it in a mug. I honestly didn't know there was a World Traveler Coffee Roasters here in Folsom haha. I was searching Yelp for coffee, and bam... one of my favorite coffee places popped up. This location has plenty of parking compared to the one in downtown sac, so that's a huge plus. The inside is nice and clean. There's one of those long community type tables in the middle as you enter. Given this was my first time at this location, I decided to ask the barista what iced drink they recommended. He suggested the White Chocolate Caramel Iced Mocha. Not bad, though I honestly still prefer my Lavender White Mocha, but it's nice to change up my coffee once in a while. I can't really taste the Carmel much, but I definitely taste the mocha. Oh this location still has some of the Apple Shaped dessert. If you're in the area, definitely drop in and grab the Apple Shaped Dessert. It's a light and refreshing treat you'll enjoy with your drink. This coffee shop took over the old Starbucks on the corner of Glenn and Bidwell St which sits next to Churchill Downs. There's plenty of available parking in the lot but all of the parking is at the opposite angles direction when you enter from Boswell once you navigate the wrong way and around the numerous handicap spots you can park. Don't come in a big truck and expect to park close (you never would anyways). As you enter the shop you are overcome by the white walls and floor with delicately placed decorations. This place feels like you've walked into a dollhouse or high-end tea house in London. It's simply gorgeous inside and offers tables for your party or a long slab of wood that makes for a bar to house a big group or individuals. A Nitro tap has been available since opening but has never been operational. However, cascara tea and cold brew are available on tap. They have a couple displays of pastries that are amazing looking stocked by a couple different bakers. The top row of the display where you order is filled with amazing fondant creations. I want these just for display and would feel bad eating them. The menu has an even split of coffees and teas but all of the latte options are listed on one line in fine print. The barista will usually take your order and then you'd make payment to a different person. All baristas are of younger ages (20s-30s) and are helpful and pleasant. Here's our review of some things we tried: Honey lavender - 10 - Excellence balance and a delicious combination Rose vanilla - 9 - Yummmm. It is a unique option and is pretty delicious but you have to enjoy the flavor of Rose. I could sniff this all day! Brown sugar latte - 8 - Lightly flavored and is almost overpowered by the oat milk that I always get. Irish Crème Latte - 8 - This is one of the most well balanced Irish Crème lattes that I've had. The coffee is foremost but you taste the Irish Crème through the fog of coffee. If you like Irish Crème you would think this is perfect...just bit my favorite coffee flavor. This is my favorite coffee shop in Folsom for ambiance and great coffee taste. I highly recommend World Traveler Coffee for a meeting or a pre date meal. The last few times I dropped in, something was amiss. The food was disappointing. The service was aloof. Overall I was not feeling the vibe. They have fantastic coffee but that alone can not make up for the rest. In my last visit. the bacon breakfast sandwich $10 was disappointing. The bacon was thick cut. However it was cooked to a tough, almost burnt state. Hard, rigid bacon. The mocha was delicious though. I ordered a mocha and the sandwich. I was told that I have to come pick it up at the counter, they do not deliver to the table. The drink and food came out at different times. I was dining solo. It was super awkward to carry the latte cup and saucer along with the plate to the outside patio. Plus the door swings inward. It was a balancing act. On my previous visits, the staff offered to deliver the food to the table. The patio area was grungy. There was a pile of old, used paper napkins and trash behind the patio furniture and heaters against the wall. From the looks of it, it looked as if the mess may have been there awhile.
