This is the kind of boba shop I'm looking for around Daly City. People who live here knows there aren't many boba spots unless you drive into the city. They just opened their doors not too long ago. I opted for their boba + milk which is exactly what it is, No tea or caffeine. I was hoping to have sweetened boba but they were just plain boba balls. The tea itself tastes like bitter oversteeped tea like when I accidentally left my black tea steeping for over half an hour. A friend offered to pick some up for me, and after looking at the menu, I couldn't resist. I had the Matcha Latte with Strawberry +almond jelly, my friend had Matcha Latte with Peach. The strawberry and almond flavors went really well together, but I wish there was more jelly. I also couldn't taste the matcha much, it overall a yummy drink mixed together. The peach part in my friends drink was much better, with more clear flavors. I would definitely go back to try some of the other selections--the creamy avocado smoothie sounds really good! read more

Excellent traditional Boba milk tea. I wish I ordered a larger size than my small size. The tapioca balls were chewy and slightly sweet. I appreciated the ability to customize my drink for 0% sugar and 0% ice (because I am a health nut). I did struggle with using the tablet to order at first because I am not used to it, but I figured out how to use it eventually. I love Bobaville so much I had them at my mini wedding! I recommend them all the time or get them as treats for friends. I'm usually a original milk tea enthusiast - it has a nice deep flavor and their boba is so soft. My husband likes their coffee milk tea, and my other faves are their mango matcha latte. First time I went I ordered a jasmine milk tea and it was good I loved it. The second time I went to try something new and I got a Vietnamese coffee it was terrible it was too bitter. I wasted a 5$ drink that I thought I would like. It was disappointing. . [Shelter-in-place takeout review]. My goodness this place is POPULAR. I think it was the most chaotic and busy business experience I've had all quarantine. I placed an order online on a Saturday afternoon and showed up to Bobaville to see about 20 other people waiting inside and out. What a sight! Why not 5 stars? Lack of communication and their pick up process needs to be tightened up. I checked their website and social media and both platforms stated that they were ONLY accepting online orders. I showed up to see almost every person there placing orders in person and they were all getting their drinks before me. I waited 45 minutes for my drinks, which has never happened before. If I had known about being able to walk up, I totally would've done that instead. Additionally, the line outside was really confusing. I had no idea if I had to wait in line with everyone else or go straight in to pick up. Turns out you need to go straight inside for pick ups. However, there is a designated area for pick ups and they ended up putting my order where everyone else's drinks were coming out. So I kept looking at the Doordash section and my order never appeared. Only 50 minutes later did I notice that my drink order was among the others. I really hope for other people's sake that they improve on this. As for the drink quality: I got the matcha strawberry drink and it was delightful. We could easily go to Quickly but we didn't want the huge menu and wanted to try something new. So we found Bobaville There was no wait and the signage was clear and easy to read. One of the best Hong Kong Milk Teas I've had so far in the bay area outside of Hong Kong! Other places really dilute the tea/milk flavor. They make their own boba! IN STORE. I've had a few of their other drinks as well, all solid choices which makes it very difficult to decide when I do get a chance to come here. Coffee Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, Oolong Salted Crema, etc. My only complaint is their online ordering system. It would tell me it takes over 45 minutes, then I get an email 15 minutes later saying my drink is ready. Glitch in the system? I normally would never wait that long for boba, so if I was in a rush, I would have skipped. Hope they're not losing business because of this. My first review for my favorite boba shop :D -good amount of parking -aesthetic minimalistic decor -large variety of drinks due to customizations available -dairy free options -let's you put the drink in your own cup!!! I've been coming here for a while and over the past couple months I've tried all the drinks LOL. Some people said that they didn't like the drink but you can always ask for a new one! I wasn't a fan of the espresso matcha so I changed it to mango matcha and the people working were super nice about it :) they're always willing to adjust it or make a new one. My favorite drinks are the lychee tea w boba, almond tea w jasmine green tea (instead of black tea) & almond jelly, and the classic milk tea with black sugar. My sister loves the mango matcha latte and the coffee milk tea w/ extra coffee. The bobas really good, soft and chewy, but I always get less boba when I order the boba+milk. Also if you get Thai tea with ice cream, get zero or 25% sugar. I find the Thai tea tends to be sweet. read more

Honestly they are very inconsistent with their drinks. I've gotten boba here a handful of times now so it wasn't just one or two bad visits. Their regular flavored milk teas are fine. They have a good amount of tea flavor that doesn't get overshadowed with the milk. The pearls themselves are cooked nicely most of the time, with one occasion they were too mushy. The mango king (one of their speciality drinks) is a top favorite of mine, but the last time I had it, it was so icy and not smooth. I think the worst thing in my opinion are their matcha drinks. Every time I've had them it's been extremely disappointing. They're so watered down with no matcha taste. I expect a rich flavor but all it tasted like was watered down milk. So nasty I had to throw them away. Basically now I know which drinks to avoid and which ones are pretty safe to get. Hope there's more consistency in the future. read more

Was excited to see another Boba spot open up that doesn't start with the letter Q. This spot has been frequented by another friend of ours so we went to check it out. Quite a few people waiting and before we made our order the man at the register told us they were running behind and it would be a 15 minute wait. Thankfully we didn't have anywhere to be but you could see the patrons who had already been waiting were getting impatient. There's 3 small tables inside with a few small stools for waiting. We ordered the mango king and a lychee tea. Both with their housemade boba. We could see the boba being made on the back counter. Interesting. It's not black like the usual spots instead a brown/ tan color. I liked the consistency, although some weren't cooked all the way through. I don't like it super soft. These were chewy with a slight sweet taste to them. My daughter enjoyed her lychee green tea. Myself and other daughter had the mango king. Just okay. We like that it used mango puree instead of powder for flavoring. Seemed there was more cream in it than the mango puree and mango ice cream though, so there wasn't much mango flavor to it. read more

I've driven by this place multiple times and finally got the opportunity to stop by today. The place is very minimalist. The only decoration is the Bobaville light up sign on one wall. I was greeted by a nice gentleman at the register. When I asked what makes their handmade boba special, he said a lot of other places use binding ingredients to make their boba. Bobaville's boba is made in house and is softer and 100% boba in brown sugar syrup. I was intrigued. I ordered the classic milk tea with the handmade boba. My drink was made very quickly. As soon as I took a sip, I could taste the tea and the tannins which I appreciate. The sugar level was too high for me. Next time I'll ask for 50% sweetness. Per our conversation I was expecting the boba to be soft and sweet. Instead they were very chewy and didn't have much flavor on their own. There was almost a plastic feel when I bit into them. It was as though the boba wasn't given enough time to really soak up the sugar in the syrup. I was disappointed but seeing as they're in soft opening mode, they're probably still making adjustments. Stopped by in early April and they're still in soft opening mode. We stopped by on a weekday and learned they open at 12:30. Good thing we got there early since we thought they opened at 12. There were people that started lining up behind us before they even opened! The owner was really nice. They were running a few minutes late for opening so when he opened the door he asked if we could give them a few more minutes. My friend ordered a Hong Kong milk tea and he asked if she had ever had one. She said no and asked why. Apparently they make theirs a little different than others and he was going to explain the difference so she'd know; he did explain the difference and now I know how HK milk tea is made at some other places. I ordered the Jasmine milk tea. Please know that I did not add boba this time so I can't speak to the quality or taste of them. I asked how sweet is 50% sweet and the owner asked if I preferred things on the less sweet side. I said yes; he recommended going down to 25% sweet and if it wasn't sweet enough to let him know and they could adjust it for me. That was cool. The flavor of the Jasmine was prominent enough for me and it wasn't super bitter like I've had at other places. When we left with our order there was a line out the door and out the front already. They take precautions like waiting outside for your order and tape for spacing when ordering. They also do pick up. Some people though don't follow rules and they may wait inside in that small ass space. We went late afternoon so only about 7-ish people came through either to order or pick-up. Must wear a mask to be served. We got a Thai iced tea and a strawberry matcha milk tea. The Thai iced tea was good as expected with a good amount of boba. The strawberry matcha was also really good, but lacking with the boba. But the drink was delicious after 6 months of no boba, so I was in a forgiving mood. This was one of the closest boba places after going to Serramonte (pre-Covid) so why not. I got a jasmine milk tea and normally I would prefer real milk in my teas and this place uses non-dairy creamer which I was a little disappointed about. I ended up be pleasantly surprised that it didn't taste powdery. It was pretty light, creamy and sweet. The tea flavor was still present which I appreciated. There's a shortage of above average boba places in Daly City so I was excited for Bobaville. Since I was at Koi Palace for dinner, I decided to stop by and pick up a couple drinks to bring home. I ordered the Hong Kong milk tea for my fiancée and the almond tea for myself and added their homemade boba to both. My fiancee is a huge HK milk tea fanatic and loved it. I really enjoyed my almond tea as well and found it to have a strong tea flavor, which is my preference. Both drinks were at the sweetness levels I requested. The homemade boba was perfectly chewy. Some of the reviews mentioned the HK milk tea is watered down or doesn't taste good but I didn't find that to be the case at all. For the record, my family is from HK/Macau and I was just there a couple months ago. I grew up drinking the stuff. I've had plenty of bad HK milk tea here in the bay area but Bobaville's (made with evaporated milk) was good! In Hong Kong, they use evaporated milk and sometimes add condensed milk, with the latter one often being referred to in Cantonese slang as "cha jow" (tea left) if you order it at a HK cafe. We definitely want to visit Bobaville again and try out the other items on their menu! read more

Finally got to check out Bobaville! I got the classic milk tea and it is rich in tea flavor, which I really enjoyed. It felt like a great quality tea! Oh and the star of the show is definitely the homemade boba!! I usually don't like boba balls because they often taste so artificial to me. But I had to try these clear boba because they looked so cool. So I asked for light boba but that was a mistake! I should've gotten the full boba serving. The boba balls have this subtle sweet undertone to it, which complimented the tea really well. The texture is also very nice. Not overly chewy and weren't rubbery and most importantly, it didn't have that yucky artificial/preservative taste. Felt like I was having homemade mochi! The ambience is very clean and simple, like a high end coffee shop. Good place to take a break and have a nice convo with friends. The service was great. Homemade anything is delicious. Homemade boba will have you in bliss. I normally don't like tapioca balls in my drinks. I've never been a fan of it. I added the boba in my drink (Hong Kong Milk Tea) & it enhanced my drink! The Hong Kong MT was very strong. I was wide awake from the caffeine. The standout for this place is definitely their house-made boba which has a nice, soft and chewy texture. I went during their soft opening and their tea/drink menu was pretty basic. The matcha latte was solid but nothing special and the housr milk tea was OK. I recommend the 20% sweetness level for anyone that wants to counteract bitterness and is augmenting their tea with a topping.
