They're a decently nice boba shop--their tea isn't necessarily "spectacular" but it is differentiable in terms of quality from the common boba shop, which makes it a little more pricey. 3.5-4 Stars. Bobaville is to Daly City what Boba Guys is to SF. Not quite at the caliber of Boba Guys, but pretty damn good. I love the idea of grabbing a decent matcha boba drink and not having to go into the city. They have a decent sized menu and their boba is great! It is pale in color because it's supposedly all natural and made from cassava root. I really like the texture it adds to the drink. Nice amount of firmness but also has that great chewy quality. When they first opened, I felt like they had some trouble with keeping the taste of the drinks consistent but lately they've been spot-on The place itself isn't that big, but it's nice and clean. They kept it simple, giving it a refreshing atmosphere. This place has become one of our regulars and is now in our "Boba" rotation lol. Funky boba! For a place that has boba in their name... it's like a boba sin to not have good quality made boba in your drinks. I was shocked because this place has 4 stars, people were in line and waiting. I can see it's because of their open space and their drinks look classy at first but they're not as good as they look. It was also the boba that was white/clear but not the boba agar or crystal boba. I couldn't believe the different textures it had. It was as if someone flatten some of them and they were the size of jelly beans or little mints in the drink. The simple syrup was also a bit off. I always want boba thats been flavored with a syrup for a bit but not this one because it didn't taste right. I like sweet but this wasn't even about the level of sweetness. My friends got the matcha mango drink that didn't have balance in sweetness and weren't that great. I'd skip this place in the future. She was super happy with her Thai Iced Tea with a few add-ins (their homemade boba being one of them...light in color, satisfyingly soft & chewy.) My Jasmine Milk Tea w/ Almond Jelly was nice & sweet, but nothing holds a candle to Boba Guys. I was anticipating the opening of Bobaville as there aren't any boba shops in the area....Quickly's doesn't count! I felt even more intrigued to try them as I read that they make their own boba, which not a lot of places do, except Boba Guys. I've visited Bobaville twice and wasn't very impressed the first time. On my first visit, the following drinks were ordered: Mango King - This is a smoothie made with mango puree, mango ice cream, and topped with whipped cream. It tasted artificial and medicinal. Yuck! Another downfall is you can't adjust the sweetness. Roasted Oolong Salted Crema - This was highly recommended by my brother. I ordered this at 25% sweetness with boba. The tea tasted watered down. Fortunately, the boba saved the drink. Their boba is handmade and different than the honey boba that most places serve. The boba is clear, tastes like caramel (but not overly sweet), and has a nice chewy texture. Second visit, we ordered: HK Milk Tea - If you're used to HK milk tea at HK style cafes, this drink may not be for you. When I placed my order, the owner asked if I ever had HK milk tea. The reason is because Bobaville makes their HK milk tea a little different - using evaporated milk instead of condensed milk. I ordered mine at 25% sweet, but the owner said it might be a little bitter, but could add more syrup if needed. At 25% sweet, the tea was perfect with a strong tea flavor. Classic Milk Tea - This was rich in tea flavor where you could definitely taste the assam. Customer Service: On my second visit, I wanted to order boba with the HK milk tea, but the owner said they ran out. As I'm waiting for my two drinks, I heard the person behind me order boba, but thought I may have heard wrong since the owner just told me he sold out for the day. But then I heard the staff and owner talking about how there was only a half scoop left and how it would be split amongst the orders. WTH!! Additionally, after reading various reviews from fellow Yelpers that you did the same thing, that's terrible customer service! What kind of leader are you to your staff if you as the owner will lie to your customers?!?!?! Overall, drinks are ok, but not good enough for me to overlook the unprofessionalism. This place is poppin! According to Victor (owner) this weekend was only a soft opening and it was super packed! They actually had to close early because they simply ran out of supplies! My group and I waited for 30 minutes to get our drinks which is crazy, BUT I was very curious about this clear handmade boba that supposedly taste like caramel. After the very long wait, I got to taste the Thai tea, mango summer tea (tea, mango purée, lemon juice and mint), avocado and the mango king (my fave - mango purée, mango ice cream and homemade whip cream). They were all pretty good. The star of the show is truly the boba. It has the perfect consistency, chewiness, sweetness and size. It also really does taste caramel-y! Now let's talk money. It's a little pricey- let's face it. Most drinks are $4-$7 which is the norm in this area, but still a steep price for a drink. Nevertheless, it really is good though. I truly hope this shop is here to stay and I would love to see them come out with snacks and more flavors because from what I've tasted they're on their way to success. Had a wonderful experience the other day! I ordered the ice cream tea with boba and it tasted sweet. The ice cream went well with the tea and boba, so the next time i go there, I would like to buy one again! I experienced only one flaw while ordering and that was the service. I understand they had to provide iPads for customers to make orders because of social distancing, but no employees provide a simple greeting. A new boba spot in town! I'd say boba is a tough market because of all the competition in and around the peninsula. Their handmade boba is pretty good. It kind of reminds me of my first time ever tasting Tpumps boba and how it has that mochi-like texture. But since they're kinda mainstream now, Bobavilla has changed the game w their boba (that's why it looks clear/brown in pics)! TBH, This business is 1/5 stars, but I added a star since it's a new business. We heard Bobaville finally opened after many months of putting their sign up. It's still in the works interior-wise (no music, empty space, etc.). We went on one of their first days and there were lots of people seated. What we realized later was that everyone there was waiting for their drinks. Including my boyfriend and I there were 13 people waiting on drinks. Honestly, they're brand new so I'm gonna cut them the slack.The guy who rung us up (owner) was soft spoken (could be friendlier). I appreciate that he often thanked us for waiting. It surprised me when I asked for a light ice drink and was told it's not adjustable.. why not? Pour less ice cubes in my drink? I don't ask for light ice because it gives me more liquid volume. it's because I take my time with my drink and don't want it to water down.. Seeing from other reviewers they don't allow sweetness adjustment either. Another big thing, I saw a girl come in and the guy told her they're out of boba and unfortunately she didn't order and left. A suggestion to the business: you should've given her a free drink card or something to make sure she comes back to try your drink. C'mon, you're called bobaville and you ran out of boba. The people in front of us already got their drinks and then we had to ask the cashier to check on ours. We ordered the Hong Kong Milk Tea and it was just not good. I can forgive if they missed our drink and we waited a little long but then our milk tea was really watery and didn't have much tea flavor at all. It was just bland and we didn't even finish it. Came here for the first time in the early evening and I can confidently say it will be my last. The mood in the venue was tense as I saw a bunch of people standing around with their arms crossed, some look like they've been there for a while. We ordered 3 drinks, 2 with extra boba and one without. Since we were only 6 numbers behind the most recently called, I thought things would come out relatively quickly. I could not be more wrong. Long time gaps between each number called with the same robotic response "Sorryyyyyyyyy, thanks for waiting". Maybe it was an off day, maybe someone called in sick, maybe they were understaffed, maybe someone was being trained and didn't know the recipes, I get it, but it doesn't take away from the bad experience. After more than 20 minutes we finally got our drinks and the ones that were suppose to have extra boba definitely did not. I would give an additional star if the drink order was at least correct, but the whole environment was pretty anxious. The guy behind the counter looked super stressed out and the staff looked worn down. He gave me a flavored tea, which is not what My husband paid for. I physically went back there myself, and told the girl my order was wrong and she was very nice enough to take care of me right away. It would have been nice to have been acknowledged by the owner or even a "sorry about that.." your drink was wrong, but nothing. I completely understand he was caught up and busy with the customers in line handling the cash register but it would have been nice to acknowledge your customer. In general with customer service you need to be able to multi-task and I feel like that part is lacking. The staff could possibly use more training in my opinion, and more common sense on taking orders correctly, and speeding it up. Aside from that, the drinks are good quality but a bit pricy. Victor, the owner is super friendly, his shop is nice and clean and a lot of space, everything white which I like compared to other places that have posters all over the place. I was really excited to find a place that has homemade boba. I have made my own a few times and it's really good each time, super chewy and fresh, so I thought it'd be the same. I opted for the large mango matcha and peach matcha lattes (it was bogo free with an ig check in) with the homemade boba. Strawberry matcha lattes are my favorite from boba guys so I wanted to see how it compared. I felt like the fruit overpowered the matcha, even after it was stirred. The boba was okay, similar to my homemade one, but they were flat and smaller. I get that the shape isn't going to be perfect but I would have appreciated more boba as well, especially since it was additional 75 cents. I normally still have boba at the end of my drink, but this time I finished my boba before the drink (which is sad because I typically look for the boba when I'm slurping). I just feel like for the price (if I didn't get the bogo deal), it didn't seem worth it because it is on the pricier side and I'd rather have gone to boba guys or somewhere else with better quality. It's not bad if you're in the area and want to try some homemade boba, but I probably wouldn't recommend this place for the best boba drinks in the area. read more

It's smaller than normal boba, but not quite mini boba. The drink didn't really have much flavor, even though I got full sweetness. But my friend really enjoyed her lychee tea. This place was ok. I got a jasmine milk tea (75%) with boba and my boyfriend got the Vietnamese coffee with boba. My boyfriends Vietnamese coffee was full of coffee grounds that he couldn't even drink it. They have a sign that says they want you to like your drink so ask a cashier if you want to make any adjustments. My jasmine was too plain for 75% so like the sign said, I asked them to add a little more syrup and they pointed at a syrup dispenser and told us to do it ourselves???? SERVICE | Went around 3PM on a Saturday, and the service was pretty quick! Got my order in under 5 minutes. There were quite a few people working and no, so the service was fast. ATMOSPHERE | It's located in a strip mall really close to Serramonte! There's a parking lot, so there's ample parking. The store front itself has a nice, modern, clean aesthetic with a couple of tables and chairs for seating. Super clean! DRINK | I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte, and it was just alright. I think the problem with ~most~ fruit-infused matcha drinks is that there isn't enough purée to really flavor the tea. The drinks are made to order, and (from the menu) uses natural ingredients so that's a plus! It's a little pricey at $5.50 for a large, but the quality seems to be good! I personally didn't think the drink was amazing, but it was alright. There are a few other options in the area (namely Happy Lemon and 85 Degrees if you're already going to be shopping at Serramonte), so next time I'll probably just opt for those. read more
