Also you HAVE to get their drinks at least 50% sweet, I got mine 75% sweet just in case and it was great. Their strawberry matcha latte was amazing with their handmade boba! My sister got a jasmine milk tea 50% but she said it still wasn't sweet enough, so get 75% sweet if you want that one. I'm glad I gave this place a second chance! Went for Dessert Food - 5/5. Classic milk tea had a great balance of creamy and sweet with a hint of the astringent tea. Hong Kong milk tea was a level above on the bitter scale, but good for those that like the evaporated milk flavor. True to their name, their boba was fantastic. The texture was chewy with a good level of firmness in every bite, just the right amount of sweetness to not overwhelm the flavor of the milk tea and had a clean finish after every boba. They had a touch screen kiosk to order and pay from and then you pick up your drink at the counter. Small place with little decor but that wasn't a problem, there's no need for frills at a boba place. I ordered a matcha latte and the drink was fine but I really am not a fan of their boba. Two words: HANDMADE BOBA. All right! So the boba here is not DARK. It's actually a very light tan/caramel color. The boba is tender and soft and chewy! But not in a gummy way like other boba. And this texture is consistent throughout the whole boba ball rather than syrupy and gooey on the outside and chewy on the inside like other places. There is a very subtle caramel flavor with a delicate floral flavor which is refreshing and light compared to the deep rich and intense flavor or dark boba. I got the Mango Summer Tea because I was feeling fruity. 25% sweet. The acidity of the lemon was very apparent. It also had some floral notes to it! Very fragrant. Floral notes in both tea and boba...this drink REALLY toes the line between tasty and soapy. Floral flavors can taste like soap when used with a heavy hand. Albeit delicious, I must say this handmade boba comes at a price...it is $6.50! Worth a try but not a place for your regular boba fix. This place is for variety and novelty. Next time if I am around the area....I think I will get the Classic Black Tea 50% and see what I think about the boba! Also this place is tiny so waiting can be tough. They have a lot of different drinks from milk teas/regular teas to smoothies, and you can even customize your own drink with what kind of tea base you prefer. I tried their Boba + Milk, Jasmine Milk Tea, and Mango Matcha Latte. The Boba + Milk reminds me of a black/brown sugar milk tea, a bit too sugary/syrupy for me. The Jasmine Milk Tea has a good creaminess to it, while you can still taste the tea. The Mango Matcha Latte had a lighter matcha taste with a tarty mango puree, so be sure to mix well. read more

The tea comes charging through just like those at a HK cafe. Holy caffeine, it is on point. We didn't see an option to adjust the sugar on the drink though, it is very sweet at 100% sweetness. Other than that, the quality of the drinks has been relatively the same. I ordered the black sugar matcha (which looks more aesthetically pleasing when you first get it, but I waited too long to take a pic so all the black sugar sank...). I got it 75% sweetness which is perfect because the black sugar is plenty sweet itself and also 16oz which is relatively small. I got it with no boba, but I have had it before and it is more unique than other places texture and taste wise as their niche is handmade boba. The total came at $5.75 which is pretty standard nowadays. Drinks are also not sealed. Overall a decent boba shop and the baristas are very friendly in my very limited interaction with them. Finally a good boba place in Daly City. I got their boba + milk for myself and a classic milk tea for my bf. The boba + milk overall is decent. The boba was nice and chewy, but the drink itself was lacking flavor. Their classic milk tea on the other hand, was REALLY good. I'd highly recommend getting their classic milk tea and to add boba. While waiting for my drink, I kept seeing so many orders of a mango drink (probably mango king), so I will definitely try that next time. I am excited to try our their other menu items! read more

Don't skip on Bobaville! I've been scouring different boba shops trying to find my favorite stop and we may have a contender! Outside on the storefront, they advertise their specialty - handmade boba! That's definitely something to draw you in. For my first visit I got the classic black milk tea with boba and my partner tried the green milk tea with boba. Both teas have prominent tea flavor and you can definitely tell it's homemade and that they use real tea. The handmade boba is amazing! It's super soft with enough Q. When you get a sip and chew on the boba last, the boba by itself tastes like the flan you get at Asian markets. It's kinda custards and sweet. Bobaville got my attention and I'll definitely be back to try their other drinks! I ordered the taro smoothie and mango king smoothie, both with boba. I love the handmade boba! I could tell that they care about the ingredients they put in their drinks. I got my drink 25% sweet because boba places typically make their drinks super sweet even if you ask for half sweet. Not here though! I probably could have had more sweet in my drink, but I loved it either way. All payments are contactless and you use a kiosk to order. All people need to wait outside while their drinks are made. Came on a warm Saturday afternoon and found Bobaville pretty busy, though most of the crowd was composed of 1 party. A quick look through the menu and I decided upon the black sugar matcha latte with homemade boba. On first sip, I liked that it wasn't too sweet considering I made no adjustments, but it was pretty tepid on flavor. When I vigorously swished the drink, I would get hints of matcha, but the deep molasses/caramel flavor I expected from the black sugar was completely absent in my opinion. It also lacked a good deal of creaminess for being a latte - unfortunate. As for the boba, I appreciate the effort that went into making homemade boba.....but a good portion of my boba was basically one giant clump. Additionally, though the boba had a nice chew, it was also pretty flavorless. I'm not too sure what sweetener they use, but it likely wasn't Muscovado sugar (or if it was, it wasn't enough). Can't say that I'll be running back to Bobaville soon, but it is a nice option to have in Daly City. read more

Ok, customer service aside, let me review the Hong Kong Milk tea. I ordered this without the boba, because authentic HK milk tea in Hong Kong, comes without boba, I wanted to order this drink hot, but they don't make it hot. Authentic HK milk tea is available in hot, so I was getting a little disappointed already. When i got the drink, I was super excited. I was hoping this drink will bring back the memories of being in Hong Kong. However, after the first two sips, i wanted to toss my drink. Not only was it watered downed, but it had no tea taste. I'm not sure was it the type of tea leaves, but I'm used to my tea being strong and fragrant, and it surely wasn't fragrant. I have to question those who liked the drink and wonder have they even been to Hong Kong. Any cafe in HK was better than this, and it's really cheap now, so y'all should book a flight and try it. This place used to be a solid boba spot. Not sure what happened. Drink was watered down (gave it a shot again after their Sunset location gave us 4 watered down drinks!) Service was bad at this Daly City location. We asked for a new drink and was given attitude. The barista was being rude to everyone she interacted with. I emailed them about the issues. Pretty disappointed as they were swift to respond years ago when there was a piece of plastic in their homemade boba. They responded with a short sorry for the inconvenience, but basically ignored my follow up of how it's going to be handled. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I would say it's the bare minimum to at least add that they'll work on improving quality in both stores and discuss customers discomfort with the barista. I didn't request refunds or future free drinks, but the mention of improvements would have eased my reluctance to come back.
