Very disappointed with our visit. We love First Watch, and we have been to multiple locations many times. Today was our first time at this location, but since we have trusted the First Watch brand, we didn't have any hesitations. The waiting list feature on the app was seamless, and we were seated right away. Our indoor table was the main problem. They sat us right next to the window with sun hitting us. My husband and I sat on the chairs that got more sun to protect our kids from the bright sun. By the time our food arrived, the harsh sunlight was directly on us and we couldn't even enjoy our food without protecting our eyes from it. The food (steak and eggs, syrup, waffle) wasn't even warm when they served it -- maybe they wanted us to finish cooking the food since we were sitting under the hot sun? When we voiced our concern about the sun, we were told that they'd usually move us to another table but the restaurant was just full. Our server told us that they've had issues with our table before -- so why keep that table open? It was supposed to be a peaceful Sunday brunch for our family, but instead we left frustrated and our kids were very uncomfortable from the sun. When my waitress Ashley approached my table the smell greeted me. I took my first bite with the jalapeño on just to experience the full flavor. Got my go-to pesto chicken quinoa (I do think compared to a year ago, the serving portion has gone down) but totally understand, because the flavor is still there! We arrived and were told the wait was 40 minutes, so we stood in their foyer as they have no waiting room and it was cold outside. I also watched what appeared to be the manager spent 5 minutes talking to 4 staff members while standing near the foyer. Why weren't they seating people? Who knows? I couldn't justify waiting while watching that kind of mismanagement. Hopefully, I will find time on a weekday to try again. This is the worst first watch location I've been to. The people there are very kind but I went there 5 times during my 2 month stay in San Antonio and only once did I have a good experience. The wait was incredibly long and it was a hot day so I ended up ordering online for take out and my food was ready right on time. The next time I showed up, they let me know their wait time was almost an hour. So I decided to order to-go again and run some errands and come back. My order was not ready at the pick up time. It took 36 more minutes after pick up and they said it was because they were behind with the juices. So my eggs, potatoes and bacon were ice cold when I got it bc they refused to bring my food out until the Entire order was complete - including my drink. I would've been more than happy to cancel my drink off the order so I could have gotten my food hot. The next time I go there, the entire Air Force is there. Graduation day I guess. There was a long wait again and they asked me if I would like to order to-go. So I did and I was told about 30 minutes for to-go order. Again, I waited over half an hour OVER my pick up time for food. When I get to my hotel which was 3 minutes away, my eggs were cold, my potatoes weren't even cooked through and my bacon was burnt to a disintegrated crisp. Every time I went was a different day and different time hoping I could beat the crowds but this location must just be that popular. We asked if they could microwave it but she said they didn't have a microwave. (Hmmm) Our total assessment was pretty good, we loved our food, it was tasty, flavorful, great portion size and cooked perfectly. The million dollar bacon was good but i would rename it to quarter million or half million dollar bacon.... Its just thick cut bacon with cayenne pepper seasoning and syrup.... Im sooo disappointed! We go to First Watch in Austin. We expected much better service. i waited 10 minutes for WATER. Then they took our order. I don't eat carbohydrates so I order the works omelette and greens. I asked for extra mushrooms, extra onions and extra sausage. I wanted to add gruyere and avocado. They brought out the omelette with no extras and NO cheese! They also brought out toast after I told the waiter no toast-I even said NO carbohydrates. Just greens. Then they left off the sour cream. He was almost finished by the time I got my omelette. My husband got up to go to the bathroom and 3 waiters tried to take his plate-in quick succession.
