We popped into The Hut this morning for breakfast. It's a cute little diner with counter seating and tables inside, plus a small patio with some outdoor seating. Service was super friendly and fast. Our server took our drink order, brought out the coffee and water and took our food order. The food was out in under ten minutes. Everything was delicious. The English Muffin was nicely toasted and the eggs were soft and fluffy. The hash rowns were will seasoned and toasted nicely. The pancakes were so tasty and moist. Everything was great, especially the service. I'm looking forward to it next visit! read more

As always, breakfast was amazing. Seated quickly because we were there before 9AM. It gets very busy with limited tables and counter top space. Family owned and operated .. the service and the food were so good. French toast ... lightly coated, served with eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. Chicken and waffles ... super large chicken breast, deep fried. The Hut omelet ... three meat, cheese and veggies. Super big plate. My love of the day is the hasbrowns...crispy outside, soft insides. These are the reasons why I enjoyed going to The Hut Diner for the first time and why I think I'll go back again: Food: the food was pretty good, and very affordable. I ordered the eggs with hashbrowns and avocado, which were a great and plenty. Service: the wait staff was extremely attentive, friendly, and likable. Our waitress went out of her way to make our visit outstanding. She was prompt and quick, and chatted with us, even answering our many questions, with patience and charm. Location: this is definitely a little hole in the wall, and it fits the whole diner aesthetic. It was easy to find and, luckily, for as small as it was, we found seating quickly. Pork chop was seasoned decent, griddled well, still juicy near the bone. Edges were a little over, but it didn't kill the bite. Hash browns came out textbook crispy--thin, golden strands with that perfect salty edge. Eggs hit that diner-style comfort, slightly runny yolks, nothing fancy, just solid. Wheat toast was whatever, not too dry, just did the job. Other plate had scrambled eggs, same story--fluffy, not overdone, no weird texture. Turkey ham tasted better than expected, salty and thin-sliced, kind of reminded me of school breakfast in a good way. Hash browns held up just as well, same golden crust. Service was fast. No waiting around or needing to flag anyone down. Staff felt familiar, like they've been doing this a while. Inside looks like every old-school diner you've been to--tight booths, that low hum of conversation, syrup caddies on every table. I have been trying to get to this hidden GEM for weeks and we finally made it. *** THIS IS A MUST STOP *** I should have not waited so long to stop here, everything is made to order, worth the wait. Ashley was so alert and provided excellent service, the food was excellent! There are so many choices to choose from the price point is spot on. Jesse was very welcoming and checked on us as well. All the staff was fantastic and my complements to the cook. I highly recommend this fine eating establishment, it is small but I loved it. There is a bar inside and it has a tiny feel of the Waffle House but 100x Better, Cleaner and friendlier. What an amazing place to eat! The music was great. It was very clean and they cooked to order right in front of you which is unique and tantalizing as you wait for your food. The servers were very attentive great customer service and quick. We got a coffee, a sweet tea, one waffle the pork omelette ( which they not stingy with the meat at all) and the English muffin sandwich. Both the plates came with hashbrowns and the omelette came with toast. Including the tip, it came to about $40. Definitely got more than what we paid for and will be going back very soon! read more

Tasty little spot on Fredericksburg rd. Almost like having a home cooked breakfast. two little ladies cooking on the flat top and the stove. Friendly and attentive wait staff. The place is small but there's counter seating and about 5 booths inside. There's also seating outside. The parking is small also but it was fine when we went. I ordered the pork chop bfast with scrambled eggs. Could not sub the hash browns and toast for pancakes so I ordered a pancake side. Got my son the pancake and bacon off the kids menu. His pancake came as a Mickey mouse with fruits and whip cream as a face. His mom Also for a pork chop bfast with over easy eggs. We both agreed the pork chop was cooked perfectly but could use more seasoning. The side of pancakes is one pancake. Kind of dispapointing. But the pancake itself was very good. Since I didn't eat the toast and hash I also ordered a ham and egg taco. Very good. Plenty of ham and egg mixed in. Good meal for the price. This is a nice little diner that serves a good meal. I have been here before and it's always been good but today wasn't too good. I ordered my usual potato and chorizo taco but when I got home I opened my taco and I didn't get what I ordered. It seems I got a chorizo flavored potato taco because it was very little chorizo in the taco...only enough to color the potatoes with chorizo. I basically received a potato taco. I was very disappointed. They weren't even busy when I went in. They had maybe 3 people eating at the time. They made the tacos fast but I guess they're trying to use less ingredients and charge the same for everything. They actually had more staff than patrons. read more

It's location is close to us so now we'll have a new favorite breakfast/brunch spot right down the road from us. We loved the variety of menu items and the prices are budget friendly. Here's a perfect little hole in the wall joint managed by several hard working ladies. Props to them for serving very tasty food. It's a very small place, reminds me of a "Waffle House" setting. I attended both college and graduate school in the South - where Waffle Houses are everywhere. Man, I miss Waffle House. ....Sorry - dozed off there for a second I bring up Waffle House to say that small diners are some of my favorite places to eat. And, the small "mom and pop" feel puts it up and over any chain. I'd eaten at The Hut a few years ago, and I'm so glad I went back. I'm telling you, it might be my usual Sunday breakfast rotation on days my wife works. I had a great breakfast there this morning - their Pork Omelet was large, fluffy, and of course - full of all things pork. Their hash browns were perfectly fried. I also opted for a single pancake on the side, which was just the right size and perfectly cooked. This is particularly small joint; it would be very easy to walk in and have to wait, so go early. The prices were right on point. I ordered a lot of food and left full for under $15 (not including tip). The Hut Diner almost - ALMOST - got 5 stars out of me, which is really hard to do. Five stars don't come easy from me. So, what was it I found objectionable you ask? Their inspection score was 90. I don't think there is any excuse for such a small space to have such a low score. Had the score been much lower than that, I wouldn't have eaten there. read more

I am originally from New York and often crave the classic diner experience -- quick seating, efficient service, amazing food, and community. The Hut has it all. We came Sunday at lunchtime and were seated immediately. The staff checked on us frequently, responded quickly to our requests, and conversed with us like we were old friends. Not the best experience. I remember coming here a while back and it was good. The only thing was the place was not made for tall people. That is still the case. So if you are over 5'11" do not bother. I am 6'3" and my knees will be bruised for weeks. As for the food...not impressed. The griddle is small and the special was fish. So EVERYTHING tasted like fish. My hash, my omelette and even Phin's pancake. We were served small glasses of water that were never refilled. Never received the milk Phin ordered but was charged for it. Phin accidentally spilled his water and I was thrown a towel. YES A TOWEL. Oh and his water was never refilled. And same goes for the Onion Rings, those were wow! It's a super cute, and small, traditional diner that also has a Drive Thru window. The kitchen is lighting fast and the service was great. There are 5 booths and about 8 counter chairs. Everything is under $10 and portions are HUGE!
