This is the second time we have stopped here to eat. Both times I have had the halibut fish & chips. Both times I was not disappointed. I have to say that the bet batter is what really makes these so delicious. The place is nothing special inside, but the food and service is excellent. This is our regular morning hangout. My favorites are the blueberry pancakes, steak and eggs, chicken fried steak, jalapeño burger, many many more. I have never had a mediocre meal. The place does get busy from time to time, a sign of success. read more

Had breakfast there today. They do a perfect poached egg! Friendly service, clean and simple. Great place.

Pretty decent, but it's truck stop type quality (not necessarily a bad thing). It's not too expensive, but it has weird hours so I don't typically eat here. If you're looking for a diner and are swinging through Chugiak, I'd say it's worth a try. Just be prepared for some of the food to be pretty greasy. read more

Great cafe just north of eagle river on the way to the state fair. Highly recommend. Our meals were hot and prompt and the coffee refills kept coming. Just what you need for breakfast on the road. I've only eaten at this place twice so far, but very happy at the food eaten! It's not haute cuisine, but just good ole classic American comfort food with a little bit of a European cafe flair. If I could give 0 stars I would, I called in an order because I was sick as was my girlfriend. When I went to pick up the order (I live less than a minute down the road, on the same road) at the time they told me to pick it up. everything was cold, I was missing my toast and my girlfriends hash browns. I called and asked if there was something to be done, if I could get refunded for what I was missing or if I could get just the stuff missing remade, but then we found 3 separate hairs both in my food and her food, the hash browns were half cooked. I went to the store when they offered to remake it and yet again the same mistake, everything was hot and my order was MOSTLY correct (I asked for a side of bacon and didn't get it but at this point I didn't care). But they once again put the hash browns in my girlfriend burrito (they were supposed to be on the side) and then got angry at me when I explained the issue. At this point I've spoken to 3 people about the order to ensure it was made correctly. The entire staff was looking at me and appeared to be laughing while they remade the food. I spoke to a guy who appeared he might be the owner and explained again the issue, he looked at me and told me he wasn't going to remake it, that they were busy and short staffed. I explained that I've worked in restaurants for 8 years, that I understand but that is no reason not to remake an order that you messed up. At this he took my food, slammed it into a trash can and stormed to the kitchen, I requested s refund and explained I wasn't paying $40+ to be yelled at about how short staff you are like it's my fault. The lady scoffed, slammed her book down and typed out my refund, slammed it onto the table and told me to leave, which I gladly did, done ever go here, I was anticipating an amazing experience and got treated like shit. read more

Good, home cooked food with essentially friendly service, but the walls are a little dingy, with a splattering of sauces, bug carcasses, and shoe scuff marks decorating it. Typical diner! If you're in it for the food alone, you'll be fine. read more

This place is your typical diner. Now the breakfast burrito was huge and great that my husband had. The eggs I had and the hash browns were good. The sausage was so over cooked it was dry! Gross. The pancakes my parents had looked good. Huge amount. Prices are normal. Staff is very nice. read more

Skip McDonalds or Burger King. The bacon cheeseburger here is better. Served with plenty of skinny fries. Cobb Salad and steak philly enjoyed by others. Average price for sandwiches is $11-$13. Will visit again however it is a long drive from Virginia! Enjoy! read more

Hollandaise sauce is a delicate emulsion of egg yolks, butter, and lemon juice. Whatever they poured all over my poor eggs Benedict wasn't that. I will say the omelettes and burgers other patrons were enjoying looked better than my plate. read more

So walking in it looked like your typical diner and that was fine. Well the main dining area was full so the only other option was the room off to the side. This dining area was really complemented by the folding plastic tables, the industrial freezers and fridges loudly buzzing right beside the table, and the store rooms that for some reason they removed the doors from so that you have a lovely view of how many napkins that they have on stock. So after glancing around at the stains and splattered food on the lower walls and contemplating leaving the waitress brings us menus. Shortly after we receive water and a pitcher that looked like it spent the last five years in a child's sandbox. We ordered some sort of burrito with gravy on top that was on par with some of the worst food I've eaten. All in all I do not recommend this place to anyone. Drive down the street to Chugiak cafe if you want good food. read more

Love this locally owned diner and come here when we want a good breakfast. They are generous with their portions so you will not leave hungry! Anything you order will be tasty and satisfying.
