We ate the food so fast I failed to get pictures!!! Burgers. Sandwiches. Ice cream. Friendly staff. Cool and kitschy vibes. Duke's is in the old Chepo's space and has been revitalized with paint and decor to be a great cafe space. They even offer room for parties and gatherings! I did manage to slow down with the gluttony enough to get some photos of the ice cream (hand scooped shakes, floats, malts, and so on). However, these barely made it to the car before we demolished them!!! Worth a visit, for sure!!! read more

The other reviewers were spot on! Amazing burgers / Sandwiches!! Husband had the Rueben with a side of fries and I had the mushroom burger with bacon cheese fries. The fries could've used a touch of salt and more cheese sauce/ bacon. But still hands down my favorite burger joint now! They didn't have a full stock of the alcohol ice cream and I didn't like order any other drinks or deserts, but I am sooo curious to come back and see what's up. The burgers are overpriced and taste like the frozen burger patties you can get at Costco. Highly disappointed and will stick to Burger Jim's. Even a grilled cheese is ridiculously overpriced ($12!!!), but my husband really likes their loaded tater tots! read more

Food was pretty good. Had the sasquach mushroom burger which was tasty. The meat didn't have much fat so am not sure if it was beef or something else but it was good. Onion rings were also good. Wife had prime rib sandwich and she said it was OK, not great. Place was interesting decorated and staff was nice. We didn't try any ice creams but they had good options. read more

Two return visits to Dukes and learning their system of ordering and service improved my opinion of Dukes from a three to a to and four. You order in the front as you come in for both take out and eat-in. They do a brisk business in phone orders for pickup or delivery. If eating in after you place your order proceed to the back for your drinks as self service and a server will bring your order to your table. Condiments and can be picked up before your order arrives. It is not fancy but the food is ample, cooked well and served hot. They also specialize in alcohol flavors ice cream along with the normal ice cream choices. It is not just artificial alcohol flavors but actual alcohol infused ice cream. I am what you would call a senior but I assume they exercise control over the alcohol ice cream so as not to serve minors and know I don't remember what they had posted because it wasn't relevant to me and I can easily forget. They still have a sign labeled "Chepo's " which no longer occupies that space so if you see the sign you have found DUKE'S. Usually penalty of parking in the strip mall they occupy going North on the Parks Hwy in Wasilla. The prices are reasonable and the food is well prepared. Everyone is friendly and efficient in taking orders and serving. Remember they offer ice cream and fast food. read more

We came on a Saturday and right when it opened. Service was great, they were friendly and walked around asking how we were doing and checking on how the food was. Food came out quick which was so appreciative, because we were hungry. The folks were nice. There's many options when it comes to dressing up your fries. I got the BBQ Munch and another one of us got the Sasquatch. We all had no complaints. Fries were fresh. Burgers were tasty. Was it the best burger in my life -- no but it was a good burger. Only con is, I wish their patties were bigger. I love that they moved - their space is great compared to the last space and I love that for them! What was great: -Their customer service was exceptional. A fun coloring book for kids, and they kindly offered to split the classic burger for my two toddlers. They came out pre-split with a generous portion of fries for each! We ordered the mint shake and they again offered to split it in two cups so they each had a portion of that shake. So considerate. They topped it with generous whipped cream and a fun lil' swirl on top. The servers checked in routinely and were dynamic with my kids, and were sincere in their kindness and efforts. -Their burgers were the classic American loaded burger with every topping and real cheese option you could want. The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly. The fries were great - there is nothing worse than going to a burger joint with lame fries. The salad lettuce and veggies were fresh and freshly cut. -I didn't love the first burger option I got, and they very kindly switched it out for me. -I loved all the options for sides and sandwiches/burgers. I can't wait to go back and try other things! What wasn't as great: -The burger patty itself was a touch on the thin side and didn't have its own flavor. Because of all the dynamic trimmings and freshness, I easily still give their Classic burger a 5/5, but that patty could be taken up a notch to give it a bigger punch and move that word of mouth. The tomatoes all around were pretty orange, but maybe ripe tomatoes up here can be hard to get when buying in bulk. -They watered down the ketchup, and the other dressings weren't much to speak of. I have gone to restaurants for their great ranch. -The Duke's burger, to me, wasn't great. The patties were bland, it was all too greasy, and the sautéed veggies again lacked flavor. -The mint shake was decidedly thin and flat on flavor. It was sugar, so it was fine, but it was nothing to tell a friend about. And when you go to a great burger place you hope for an equally great shake, yu know! -The whole place could benefit from a fresh paint face lift. -It was all a dollar or two too expensive for the every day visit. If they up their shake/patty game though, I would easily pay those prices for it. When you get a burger that thick and messy and scrumptious, you'll go back again and again! -Was anyone else misled by the restaurant name? Passing by I thought it would be a candy shop, till I looked online and saw burgers. Overall a great experience and I'll be back to give other options a try! Thanks Duke's!! read more

Wonderful, amazing and sooooooo delicious. We got the burning love burger, BLTT, and bbq burger and caramel affogato. All were perfect and the fries are crispy. Favorite over all was the burning love, the cream cheese sauce is chef's kiss! Couldn't leave without trying the Superman ice cream. So colorful and yummy and took a waffles and whisky pint to enjoy at home. Staff is so friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back. read more

Found this awesome little place, behind AIH. Owner and staff are beyond polite, courteous, and very friendly. They are very obliging in making your visit pleasant and informative. I ordered 2 burgers (double cheeseburger/Sasquatch burger). Made to my request. Sasquatch has jalapeño's on it, I asked for them to put on my cheeseburger instead of the Sasquatch, came out perfect. I also ordered a milk shake that wasn't on the menu, it was perfect. Had vanilla ice cream with espresso and caramel drizzle. Might not be on the menu, but it was the best I had ever had. If there were more than 5 stars available, I would give them the highest amount possible. GREAT PLACE is an understatement. It had a quaint little breezeway to wait in while food is being prepared. Very pleasant atmosphere to say the very least. From the outside, you probably wouldn't even know that it's an eatery, it looks more like a warehouse. After waiting at Wendy's for 15 mins I remembered this place had some rave reviews and decided to stop in and pray they were open. The place was quick and friendly- to top it off the burgers are amazing and the menu has some fun combos. I opted to get chili instead of fries and was not disappointed there either. This place should not be overlooked if you're looking for some quick grab and go food or a sit down bite. I got the popper burger and was left stuffed but wishing there was as more of it to eat later! The best food I've had in months, Duke's is seriously so good. The burgers are perfectly cooked and not overly seasoned. The buns are perfect along with the crispy fries.
