Inside Rueben sandwich

Service was slow. Rueben sandwich was not good. Bread was so crunchy it scraped the roof of my mouth. Brought half of it home. Here are Photos. The onion rings were tasty

I need to purchase some new catchphrases. Until then, I'll re-use one of my stock ones: "Where have you been all my life?!" Chugiak is an easy town to miss. It's between Eagle River and Wasilla/Palmer. Most locals blaze right by it, let alone tourists. However, it has not one, but TWO breakfast places. The other has very limited hours and I still haven't been. This one is a crisp, clean diner-style restaurant. What it has in common with classic diners: - bread is always pre-buttered - little single-serve jellies - hearty portions - country fried steak - gravy - various meat/egg/potato combos - coffee is functional and utilitarian, merely a vessel for caffeine-dosing What it does not have in common: - you pay at your table, not at the front! (I prefer this) Service was fast and friendly. I got a a meat and egg combo. Bacon was above-average, as were the hash browns. I'd definitely return!

Gives off a mid American diner vibe. Food is decent but not exceptional. Breakfast good but not something that is worthy of frequenting.

Very good food, fast service, very helpful servers. It's the only breakfast/lunch in Chugiak and we really love having it here.

Beer: 5 stars Food: 3 stars…read moreMath = 4 stars Seriously, I was BLOWN AWAY by the beer selection here. Like, Home-Alone-slap-your-virgin-face-with-after-shave-and-scream-levels of blown away. Not only do they have a TON of taps. Pay no attention to some of the older reviews that specify the number of taps. The current number is now: 64. I'll say that again SIXTY-FOUR taps. If there is a place in the state of AK with more taps than that, I would like to know where it is. Currently, to my brain, this place is the current Sourdough Tap King. Anyway, not only do they have the MOST taps. They have some really unique stuff. There were beers on tap here that I've never even seen for sale at the larger Brown Jug warehouses! There are beers on tap I didn't even know were distributed in AK! Most impressive. The food, was just OK. I got some tacos and they were alright. They filled me up but weren't much to write home about. Given the Gambrinian fortitude on display here, I will definitely be back. It makes an excellent post-hike stop if you're up near Twin Peaks.

We both enjoyed the HUGE pile of fresh cut French fries and appreciated they kept our water glasses full. Friendly and prompt service, reasonable prices (for the state) and appears a great selection of beer (was a work lunch so will need to return for a cold one later)

I've been going to pizza man since 1988 when we moved to Eagle River, it had long been the metric…read morewith which I've judged pizza. It was the pizza reference I grew up with when I came of age and learned what a pizza was. That said over the past years, the points we had amassed as we were weekly or every other week pizza na families and often multiple lunches per week at pizza man. That stopped after this last Thursday. We had a late evening of soccer, then a power outage occurred and we had no ability to cook, thought taking a pizza to go would be ok. We ordered and headed that way. Upon arriving, we asked to change our pick up order to a dine in option as the kids and I wanted drinks and sodas. The hostess said "that shouldn't be a problem, let me clean off a table and I can seat you." It seemed out of courtesy that she notified the server that she was seating an adult and three kids, "they already ordered their pizza just want drinks and salads too." The server, a shortish woman about 5'5" long curly dark hair some visible tattoos was told this. She turned and said to the hostess "they ordered to go, they get their pie and get outta here." I said "hold on, we haven't paid for anything yet, we just want to sit and eat and we will still pay for everything, even tipping, just don't want to eat pizza outdoors or in the car." Her response was "you shoulda thought of that before you placed an order, pay for your pizza and get outta here." While this was happening, there was another couple who had done the exact same thing in the front dining area-eating out of to go boxes as they too "changed their mind." I love pizza man I hated that server If you wonder why you're losing customers-look within the staff you've hired. I didn't pay for the pizza and it's unfortunate I said "this fucking place has gin so fucking far downhill from where you used to be." Literally a staple of the community and hiring shitbags and others who treat YOUR customers like shit. How fucking dare you. I'm sure I won't get the response I'm looking for. But I hope everyone who is thinking of going to pizza man reads this and rethinks paying any money to your business. It's so sad to see a company who was so great to a community succumb to greed and assholeism that is too prevalent in our society Politely Go fuck yourselves What sucks is that I have to even give A star so it'll work in some metric for yelp. No one at pizza man cares to comment and no manager wants to address this either. Pretty common for dirt bags
