    Omelette with "fries"

Came here because of the high Yelp reviews, but wouldn't return. Food was very mediocre...2.5/3 out of 5. Husband got a burger that was flat and underwhelming, accompanied with very flat, thin and not so fresh bread. The avocado on it was under ripe and pretty hard. I got the vegetarian omelette that was very so, so. Cheese wasn't included even for the vegetarian option. Fries were not bad, but also not great. They were crispy. Coffee was very mediocre as well. It was quite bitter and not that smooth. Vibes were cozy and homey. Service was sub par. We were seated and not even given a menu.

Service was slow. Rueben sandwich was not good. Bread was so crunchy it scraped the roof of my mouth. Brought half of it home. Here are Photos. The onion rings were tasty

I need to purchase some new catchphrases. Until then, I'll re-use one of my stock ones: "Where have you been all my life?!" Chugiak is an easy town to miss. It's between Eagle River and Wasilla/Palmer. Most locals blaze right by it, let alone tourists. However, it has not one, but TWO breakfast places. The other has very limited hours and I still haven't been. This one is a crisp, clean diner-style restaurant. What it has in common with classic diners: - bread is always pre-buttered - little single-serve jellies - hearty portions - country fried steak - gravy - various meat/egg/potato combos - coffee is functional and utilitarian, merely a vessel for caffeine-dosing What it does not have in common: - you pay at your table, not at the front! (I prefer this) Service was fast and friendly. I got a a meat and egg combo. Bacon was above-average, as were the hash browns. I'd definitely return!

Cold inside restaurant, had to ask for coffee refills, eggs were cold, and waffles were tough to cut; had to use a butter knife.

Gives off a mid American diner vibe. Food is decent but not exceptional. Breakfast good but not something that is worthy of frequenting.

Good portions and friendly staff. Biscuits and gravy had lots of gravy and lots of sausage mixed in. Good stuff!

Very good food, fast service, very helpful servers. It's the only breakfast/lunch in Chugiak and we really love having it here.

Like, Home-Alone-slap-your-virgin-face-with-after-shave-and-scream-levels of blown away. Not only do they have a TON of taps. Pay no attention to some of the older reviews that specify the number of taps. The current number is now: 64. I'll say that again SIXTY-FOUR taps. If there is a place in the state of AK with more taps than that, I would like to know where it is. Currently, to my brain, this place is the current Sourdough Tap King. Anyway, not only do they have the MOST taps. They have some really unique stuff. There were beers on tap here that I've never even seen for sale at the larger Brown Jug warehouses! There are beers on tap I didn't even know were distributed in AK! Most impressive. The food, was just OK. I got some tacos and they were alright. They filled me up but weren't much to write home about. Given the Gambrinian fortitude on display here, I will definitely be back. It makes an excellent post-hike stop if you're up near Twin Peaks.
