I have been to the Pleasanton and Walnut Creek locations and this Bober is just as aesthetically pretty as the others. The flower wall and pink hearts make this place great for taking photos. The drinks come with cute bear lids. I love the pink pear drink as it is sweet enough without being overbearing. I really enjoyed the mochi donuts that are made fresh daily. The frosting was not overly sweet and they were nice and chewy. I also love that I was greeted right when I entered and asked if I needed any help with ordering on the kiosk. The boba is different than most shops as they have the regular honey boba or stir fried which you can see right in the display window. So glad they opened up a location in San Ramon! DO NOT EAT THESE DOUGHNUTS IF YOU HAVE CELIAC OR GLUTEN INTOLERANCE! Wish I could leave 0 stars. My husband and daughter went in and asked if the doughnuts were gluten free since my daughter and I both have celiac and most mochi products are gluten free. Knowing that we have celiac the girl working said that two of the flavors were gluten free. So, my daughter and I split a doughnut. We were so excited to find a gluten free doughnut. Later, I decided to look online and it stated that the doughnuts do contain wheat. My husband went back in with that information and the owner, who was present, again stated that those two flavors were certainly gluten free. An hour after eating I got nauseous and threw up. Today, my daughter and I are both unwell and suffering. As someone with celiac, consuming any gluten at all damages our gut and prevents absorption of nutrients. Causing a whole slew of horrible symptoms. I am honestly infuriated that two separate staff told us they were safe for us - when they in fact ARE NOT! read more

This is such a cute place. Very pink and decorative inside. I ordered the mung bean pandan latte. It was so good. I left out the boba and the cream cheese on top and it was still slightly sweeter than I am use to, but I liked it regardless. The owner mentioned that this drink takes the longest to make as she makes it with real mung beans which take awhile to cook in a batch each day beforehand. This may be why the sugar level cannot be adjusted. She was very nice and service was excellent. They have a variety of mochi donuts too. So hard to choose between all the delicious flavors. Came here for their grand opening and their interior was so pretty. We ordered two drinks and got two more from the BOGO. I wish BOGO was more clear- it was only for specific drinks and you choose after ordering which I found really confusing. We ended up with four drinks which were all pretty sweet. Oolong milk tea with stir-fried boba- the drink wasn't as sweet (at 25% sweetness) but the boba made it really sweet. It had a strong tea flavor though it tasted more like assam than oolong to me. The mung bean pandan latte and the coconut taro latte were both REALLY sweet. I also got the wintermelon milk tea from the BOGO and it was more milky and sweet than I'd prefer. There are Yelps for Bober Tea and Mochi Dough at this location, but it's actually a Bober Tea X Mochi Dough store. Someone brought a dozen Mochi Dough to a party and I was hooked. They're so good! The doughnuts are a little "stiffer" if that makes any sense. The best thing is that they are more fried and crunchy on the outside, reminding me of old-fashioned doughnuts. Since it's a chain store, I came to this one since it's closest to me. Finally got the mochi doughnuts I've been craving mmm... We also tried the drinks while we were here. The signature (brown sugar milk black tea with boba) was very good. Very milky with crunchy sugar bits, and the boba tasted like authentic stir fried black sugar boba as advertised, perfect texture. The mango jasmine tea was great too, flowery tea with fresh thick mango purée. The only con is probably that they don't really have any of those smoothie or slush drink for kids, which is actually fine by me. OMG. What happened to this place? It used to be my absolute favorite Boba place in San Ramon for years. Today, the place is terrible. It's difficult to be perfect every time like they have for years, but when all of this issues happen at the same time, something's wrong. 1. The milk tea is watered down. 2. And they ran out of one of the most popular teas. 2. Light ice means literally 3 ice cubes. WTF. 3. The boba is over sweet and not the right texture. 4. They ran out of mochi donuts. 5. This review is specifically for the Surprise cup, for the holidays! This time I got the Brown Sugar Matcha Latte flavor in this limited edition Surprise cup for the holidays! The flavor is probably my favorite/go to at Bober which I enjoyed, I did 50% sweetness this time and for my personal preference I think I may do 75% or more next time! This cup was just $3.95 extra from the regular size cup, which I think is worth it cause amount of the drink is about the same but additionally you get the surprise prize! In mine I got a hello Kitty key chain plush which is very cute and pretty good quality for the price! Kinda a fun thing to see what you might get! The cup is very sturdy which is nice, I'd been to a different boba chain that did surprise cups but they weren't quiet as sturdy and the prize in this one was definitely a lil bigger then that one! I was still able to easily drink from it after I took out the prize because it's so sturdy. I would still be careful when pulling it out just in case! There is a separate compartment for the drink part so you shouldn't have any leaks from your drink. I love Bober Tea, I've been to the San Ramon Bober many times! I go to many of the locations in the Bay Area and Sacramento. I've been coming to Bober since they only had the Sacramento store! The San Ramon one is different then the other locations I've been to since it has these cute hearts all over the walls giving ya a lil different vibe then some of the other locations do! Lots of seating available as well! The drinks always taste amazing and come in such cute cups, also a very aesthetically pleasing place to take pictures and videos! The staff is always nice too! We love Bober Tea! The mochi donuts are so yummy - some of our favorites are the Black Sesame and "Dirty" Taro (Oreo). We also always add one or two of the rotating flavors as well to try something new and they never disappoint. The staff is super friendly and gives great service. Last time we were in Bo took care of us and helped us pick out some new flavors to try that suit our taste and preferences. I finally decided to give this Bober tea another shot after I went when they first opened about a year ago and had a poor experience. It seems there are potentially new owners now? Or managers? Not sure, but I've been back a few times in the past couple of months and have also walked past it a number of times and I seem to see a man and/or a woman working who I had never seen before. They are extremely friendly and nice people, a polar opposite from the woman who seemed to be the manager when I visited a year ago. The interior is pretty much the same minus a grad feature wall I saw around graduation time. The drinks are a lot better, were not just cups full of ice, and they seem to have better mochi donut availability even on their $1 mochi donut with drink purchase Tuesdays! Friendly and fast. Mochi donuts are delicious, if somewhat pricey. However, on Tuesdays you can get one for $1.00 with your drink order. (One per drink order.) Decor is the typical for this chain pink explosion. I didn't love my drink though because the green tea tasted over-brewed and therefore a little bitter. I also don't like that you cannot customize the amount of ice in your drink like you can at other chains. I'll come back, but stick to non-tea drinks. read more

First time here. We live 2 minutes away and my wife loves trying new boba places. To get a taste of what our standard is, we love Happy Lemon and Boba Bliss. Food - their drinks are decent to great. The Cookies and Cream Brown Sugar drink is SOOO GOOD!! The taste is dynamic. Really sweet. Loved it. The Chizu Pink Pear Tea was like a 5/10. Too yogurty and tart. Their Mochi doughnuts were good. Not mindblowingly good. The best one was the Biscoff. The butter cream frosting is way better than the normal vanilla frosting on the birthday cake flavor. The funnel cake and churro flavors were the next best. I don't like matcha, but they have a strawberry Pocky stick on top, and that combo of flavors was actually really good. The employees are very nice and helpful. I just wish they would have a menu posted behind the counter. Unless you're looking it up online, you have to wait until you get to the self order kiosk. So a lot of people are spending your time shopping on the kiosks, making the line super long. Really pretty pink flowers and light signage. Good for IG posts if you're into that! read more
