I almost don't want to tell anyone about her because she's fantastic and I hate waiting to get my stuff altered by her. I wear suits everyday and she's altered about 7 suits for me and close to 20 buttoned shirts. I see a couple of reviews complaining that she charges a lot. I know her prices are definitely slightly below going rate for suits. Overall I would echo the other comments here and say that she does fantastic work for a reasonable cost. Some things to consider when you go see her. 1. Bring cash. 2. Try on your clothes before you leave. If you're not happy, you should tell her. However, once you leave the shop you can't complain. Maybe bring a friend to the store to give you a second opinion? 3. Beware: Once you realize that tailored clothing makes you look 10x better you'll have everything tailored and well...it can get expensive. read more

I've been coming to Bobi's for years. Yes, the place is an unholy mess, but you're paying for the clothes to be altered, done correctly, reasonably priced, and reasonably fast-not for them to be done in Barbie's dream home. She can shorten jeans with a proper jean hem so they look exactly like they were made that way. She does pageant gowns and wedding dresses. She does tailored suits, jackets, & shirts. She'll even sew on scout patches. That said, she's got a 85% rate for being done when she said they'd be done, so if you really need it by a specific date, tell her you need it earlier just to be on the safe side. And remember it's cash only and she's closed on Sundays. There are 2 curtained dressing rooms (also messy) for trying on clothes. Bring the shoes you plan to wear so she can pin to the right length. If you've never been here before, it's right off the 15 at Mira Mesa (turn right off the freeway exit ramp and right into the first driveway). Park in the lower lot and walk down the stairs to street level. There's an ATM in this lot if you forget to bring cash when you come to pick things up. These are 5 star alterations, speedy, and value priced, but 4 stars because the place is always a tip and they are only mostly on time. read more

Today after reading many positive reviews I went to Bobi's Tailoring to have 2 dresses finishes, zippers and neckline. I went there at 9:30am and was told to come back in an hour, because they weren't able to give me a price until the boss was there, which is kind of strange since you would think they'd have set prices. Anyways I came back an hour later and was told they wouldn't be able to do, because they are too busy for which I drove there twice and then found that my WHITE DRESS WAS LAYING ON THEIR DIRTY FLOOR!! Extremely unprofessional I will NEVER go there again. If you have nice clothes don't take them here, because apparently they could care less about getting your things dirty, it's not too hard to at least put it on a hanger and it's just rude to make me drive there twice to tell me they won't be able to sew it while storing my things on the dirty floor. I don't see why they won't be running out of business any time soon. They did a phenomenal job on fixing my jacket and my pants when i brought it over here. Just make sure u pay cash only. Overpriced and slow... I had to return FIVE times to get very minor alterations done on a dress. Two of the times I went, my dress hadn't even been touched yet, even though it was in the evening of the day it was supposed to be ready... I was originally told it would cost me $10 to make shorten the straps, and it ended up costing $50!! I will not be returning. read more

I brought several dress shirts to Bobi and she did a PERFECT job. When I read these reviews of people complaining about her being rude or a smelly dirty shop...who cares, why does everyone think they deserve getting their butts kissed for spending money with a business? How many places have I been where they treat me nice, have a fancy facility but their work sucks? Bobi does killer work at a great price, such so that she can be rude, or have a smelly shop...she is doing you a favor by making you look phenom in your clothes (that means you 'odd body type'). Bobbis is cheap, but I'm amending my review because I took a $400 brand new dress in for a simple hem alteration and I noticed that when I got it back it had several snags in the material that it did not have prior to me dropping it off. I had literally never worn this dress except to try it on and kept it carefully in a box. There's no way it could have snagged like this except from the rough treatment it must have received at Bobbis. Some of the snags are quite bad, where the stitching is completely frayed and fuzzy like someone had rubbed it very roughly, causing the thread to felt together. I also noticed that the boning in the top was starting to come through the material as though it was bent unnaturally forcing the plastic through the lining. Do not risk sending your nice clothes here. read more

I love Bobi's tailoring. I've been going since 2000 and they've been extremely reliable. They don't speak English very well but they always deliver on time. Got a simple dress tailored here once. It cost $17 which was actually more than the dress lol. Can't complain though because she made it absolutely the way I wanted it to be. My friend went to pick up my dress and she wasn't ready. Said to come back in 2 hours and 2 hours later, all set! Just call in before you pick your clothes up as a reminder for her. read more

I called last minute to my get husband's uniform tailored and chevrons sewed on and even though she was not opened on Sunday, she nicely told me to come in and she would do it for me anyways. Spent about 10 minutes there and picked it up the next day. Chevrons were neatly and evenly sewed on and pants were perfectly cut. Fast and afforable. read more

Bobi has the memory of an elephant! I started going here about 7 years ago and she's remembered my name since my first visit. I've recommended several friends and family to Bobi and they are all happy with her work, I even have a friend that drives all the way from Coronado to get her alterations done here! If you need a rush job, she'll get it done. But the work is still really good, it's not a sloppy job at all. She charges a decent rate, much less than many tailors that I've been to. Her place isn't the most organized, but don't be discouraged. She'll remember exactly where to find your article of clothing in the huge piles scattered throughout the store. read more

My husband and I have been visiting Bobi's for more than 20 years. We lived in Scripps Ranch then moved farther north, but we still drive back to Bobi's. She is fair and resonable. What I appreciate is that she knows proportions to body fit. I'm short, so this is important to me. Why would the heap of garments matter when your own clothing is returned pressed and ready to wear? I was reluctant to take my suit here because I had seen the inside of the shop before and felt intimidated. But after reading all the great reviews, I decided it was worth a try. My suit was too big since I lost weight and I needed it fitted. She only charged me $15 for the pants and $35 for the jacket and she did a lot of work on it. Now it fits great and still looks perfect. It took one day longer than quoted (8 calendar days total), but I was fine with that. So much better than buying a whole new suit, and she was really nice and did great work! I realized that she has her priorities on making her customers happy rather than wasting time on shop appearance. Don't forget that it's cash only -- there's an ATM on the upper level if needed. read more

The tailoring here is outstanding. Reasonable prices. What I like the most is Bobbi takes the time to help me decide hem length, style of dresses (for minor alterations). Very reasonably priced. Fast service. Place looks very messy and cluttered but if they can find your stuff and work there, who am I to complain! I have only had my kids tees and pants altered and she charged me $5 for altering the length of a tee shirt that cost $15, which I thought was reasonable (the Carmel mountain alterations store was going to charge me $15!) Haven't had any big ticket or adult items altered, though. So no comments there. read more

Awful. The only reason I'm giving 1 star is because I can't give 0. I had me wedding dress shortened and bustled here, big mistake. When I picked it up I expressed concern about the length and the bustle; the dress was too long and the loops for the bustle were three loops consisting of a single thread each. Bobi kept insisting it was fine and ignored my concerns. I had my wedding 2 days later and the dress was a nightmare! It dragged on the ground and the strings broke immediately. I ended up having to TIE the back of the dress through the corset strings so I could walk around. I called Bobi and she told me "well you tried it on". I went to this shop with a costume I got from Hong Kong that was too large in areas and too small in others. I sew but this was project I thought I would leave to an expert. It was a lot of tailoring I am not comfortable with. She did a great job on the outfit but she had it for 3 weeks and did nothing till I went in to pick it up. She said it was not done I looked over and there was my outfit where we left it 3 weeks earlier. I was very upset. She apologized. She said she would have it done by Noon the next day it was done by 1 making me late to Comic Con. I will not go back to her shop if this is how she is going to do business. read more

I checked out many places on Yelp before I went here, and was sufficiently impressed. I got my dress at a small local dress store that charged a really exorbitant price just for hemming the bottom, so I didn't want to take it back when I needed it taken in and further adjusted. Bobi's did a much better job at a harder tailoring job, improved several features about the dress, at half the price that I had paid at the dress store, and it only took them 4 business days! Only downfall: cluttered store (although they do seem to know where their inventory is when you need it) and you have to pay cash. But it's worth it, and I'd send my friends there :) read more

Worst customer service EVER!!!!! I will never use them again!! Took my daughters prom dress and they told me one week. I went back the day they told me and it wasn't ready. They told me they would call me. They called later on that day. When my daughter tried on the dress the bottom layers of the dress were longer than the top layer. Three attempts later of recutting the lining, it still seemed that one side was longer than the other. We had been there for almost an hour and I had had it. When I went to pay, they never apologized. I asked for a discount for the inconvenience and Bobbi looked at me like I was crazy. She offered to give me $2 off! What an insult! She tried to explain how busy they were. Also she said for the price, it was cheap. I would have paid more money to have it done right the first time. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VERY UNORGANIZED!!!! This is the BEST place for getting your clothes tailored. The first piece I brought her was a jacket with sleeves that were too long and had tailored button holes on the cuffs. I had brought similar style jackets to other highly recommended tailors only to be disappointed with the way the job turned out. Not Bobi! She was able to take the jacket apart and shorten the sleeves and still have the sleeves fall perfectly as if they had been made for my petite length. Every piece of clothing I have since brought her has been done PERFECTLY! You will find no one better to tailor your clothes, and the price she charges only makes it better! read more

My son ripped his jacket and based on all the positive reviews, I went to Bobi's Tailoring. You have to park on the upper level and then walk down the stairs and around the corner. They did a FABULOUS job on the jacket - you really have to look hard to see where it was fixed. Much better than I thought it would turn out and the price was super reasonable. I would definitely go here in the future with any tailoring needs. I didn't really think of the place as messy - I think that's just the work they do - like if you have a desk job you're going to have papers on your desk right? read more
