There is an excellent selection of oysters. I appreciate the effort they put into making sure every aspect of the raw oyster program is executed flawlessly.

Great patio dining with big ass fans and seat cushions and plenty of indoor seating also - valet available but street parking is also easy to find. Friendly service and great food. Casual ambiance. Music chill and not too loud. Pluses 1. Mussels and clams go great with the fries 2. Love the free bread and butter 3. Whole branzino is a winner and good to share 4. Strawberry sorbet was light 5. Get the carajillo with liquor 43 Areas to improve 1. Fish knife not available for the bony branzino Highly recommended!

My husband and I had reservations for Saturday night. We came in and waited about 15 to 20 minutes before we were seated at our table. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside, we were seated in the patio area and had very friendly service. We ordered lobster bisque as our appetizers. The soup was one of the best I've ever had. We ordered the lobster roll and the crabcakes as our dinner. The lobster roll could have been better without all the greenery and the crabcakes were delicious and full of crab and not too much filler. Overall, a fantastic place to go on a date

Came here to celebrate a birthday and Clark's absolutely delivered on the experience. The space has such a relaxed coastal vibe that you almost forget you're in the middle of Houston. It feels light, lively, and perfect for settling in for seafood and a couple of drinks. We kept the order simple and oyster-focused: two of each variety so we could try both the East and West Coast selections. Everything was incredibly fresh, and it was fun tasting the differences between them from the brinier East Coast oysters to the slightly sweeter, creamier West Coast ones. If you're an oyster person, this is definitely the place to indulge. The real standout of the night was the hospitality. Our server, Syndi, was fantastic, knowledgeable, warm, and full of great recommendations without ever being pushy. She helped guide us through the menu and made the experience feel relaxed and celebratory. Since it was a birthday reservation, we arrived to a sweet handwritten card, which was such a thoughtful touch. They also surprised us with a lime cheesecake topped with toasted marshmallows that was absolutely delicious. It was bright, creamy, and the perfect ending after oysters and martinis. We paired everything with some bubbles and a couple rounds of martinis, which made for a perfect little celebration. For oysters, drinks, dessert, and standout service, the total came to about $110 for two, which felt very reasonable given the quality and overall experience. Great seafood, polished but welcoming service, and thoughtful hospitality. Exactly the kind of place you hope to find in the neighborhood.

Clark's has some of the best quality oysters I've ever tried! Our server was amazing. We were celebrating an anniversary, so she drew cute illustrations on the table card for us. She also explained to us the differences between the different oysters, and made some great recommendations. The inside of the restaurant is very dim with ambient lighting, perfect for a date night. The complementary bread that came out at the start was cold and very chewy. Toasting and warming up the bread would've made it more appetizing. We were a bit disappointed that the crab cake entree only came with 1 crab cake, but the dish itself was very tasty. The rosemary shoestring fries were also good, but there was so much that it ended up being our main entree! These are a bit difficult and messy to eat. To quote my companion, "I feel like a cow grazing on hay." XD The pot de creme was a hit. The salt balanced the butterscotch very well, and the creme fraiche and granola topping were the perfect additions. The cream pie was a bit flavorless, but it was complementary!

Just had a perfect lunch at Clark's Oyster Bar. From the moment we walked in, everything was great - beautiful space, relaxed yet polished ambiance, and genuinely fantastic service (thanks to Madison!) We shared a few items from the menu, and every dish was solid, but two absolute standouts: * Grilled octopus - tender, perfectly charred, and perfectly seasoned. Easily one of the best versions I've had. * Oysters - fresh, clean, and impeccably presented. Simple and done right. What really elevates Clark's is the combination of excellent food and service that feels attentive without being overbearing. It's the kind of place where you can linger over lunch and feel completely taken care of. Great food, great energy, beautiful restaurant. We'll absolutely be back!

Wow! Amazing seafood! Like blown away by the freshness. Went with a couple girlfriends and loved the atmosphere. Would have wanted to sit on the fun patio, but it was kind of hot (thanks Texas in November), so opted for inside. Our server was great and knowledgeable, even though I'm blanking on her name, wears glasses and had pink streaks in her hair. We started with two dozen oysters and let our waitress pick. Very great selection! East coast oysters are my favorite and did not disappoint- fresh and delicious. We wanted to try a lot so we ordered multiple things to split- a lobster roll, crab cake, mussels and clams, and Mac and cheese with crab. Cold lobster rolls are my favorite and this one may have been the best I've ever had so far. The lobster was plump, fresh, and well cooked. The herbs and dressing were flavorful and highlighted the lobster instead of overpowering it. The fries reminded me of shoe string potatoes. Not your typical fry, good, but only tried them as I felt my calories could be better spent elsewhere with all we got! The crab cake was filled with lump crab and again, the crab was the spotlight (as it should be) and everything in it complemented the flavor. I wasn't as impressed with the Mac & cheese with lump crab, although the girls I was with devoured it. I felt like you could taste the fuel of the torch they used to finish it, but I can be weird like that so this wasn't for me! The mussel and clams were cooked perfectly. I prefer cioppino but appreciated tasting this dish. Ordered an extra dirty martini, but didn't leave me wanting a second one although I like that they offer goat cheese stuffed olives. Still, wasn't briny enough for me! I will be going back again because the food was all that I could want and more!

I enjoy going to Clark's every now and then. I've had the redfish on the halfshell (my favorite - get the chimimchurri w it!), fried shrimp, crudo, oysters, octopus, burger/fries and many different drinks. They all taste quite good. I'd been wanting to try Clark's since I lived in Austin in 2014, but the parking situation was limited. My only issue is I have to spend quite a bit to get full and get my buzz on. And I'm no stranger to spending. You can find me at Bludorn, State of Grace, and Hugo's on the regular. And those are just the regulars. I'd be more inclined to return frequently if I could find a sweet spot for feeling satisfied for the cost. A similar comparison is Uchiko. Love the food, but I don't go frequently. The service is good - but I wouldn't say spectacular.

This place has left me speechless...again!. From the hostess's welcome to the dessert--the whole team is consistently perfect. Food: - ceviche-- prob the best ceviche in the city. Fresh, spicy, flavorful. It's a good size for two to enjoy. - redfish-- perfectly cooked. We picked the paprika vinaigrette and the chimichurri dressing to go with it. Yall! Don't sleep on the paprika vinaigrette. It was phenomenal and reminded me of chili oil. - crispy marble potatoes with chimichurri-- SO good. It's a good size for a side and so delicious!! Def highly recommend. Trust me. - shells and cheese -- 10/10 recommend every time!! It is probably the best Mac and cheese in the city and there is definitely a generous portion of lump crab. - key lime pie-- as a baker myself, I approve of this bake!! The tang of the lime, the graham cracker crust with the warm spices, the toasted meringue with the coconut-- yes yes yes! Service: - impeccable! Jean was our server. She was regularly checking in and her recommendations were spot on. She made sure our table was always cleaned between courses. Our waters were always filled. The food came out in a timely manner and every course was spaced out appropriately. Nobody rushed us out. - we were celebrating and they made us feel so welcome with a personal post card once we came in and wished us throughout the night. Ambiance: - classy and fancy! Overall, our dinner was spectacular. I'd come back in a heart beat. Clark's is definitely a favorite and we loved every minute of it.

The complimentary bread is served with u salted butter and salt on the side! I love this touch to add the amount of salt to your liking. The radishes served with the bread are a nice flavor burst. We have dined on the patio both of our visits. Service has been on point. You can tell the servers work together to ensure each guest has an exceptional time. Tonight was light bites: gulf snapper ceviche and a bib salad. The ceviche was amazing!! Fresh, bright flavors, spunky, it was served with saltines which paired well. Do not forget the citrus juices, there is a reason it is served with a spoon! Ended our date night with the key lime tart. The toasted almond slices on top of the tart/slice of key lime pie were a great compliment to the toasted marshmallow cream surrounding the tart.

Lovely seafood joint! Made reservations ahead of time. Started the night with a classic margarita with tajin on the rim. From the cold bar, we got the Crudo Plate (came with 3 types of fishes; salmon, yellowtail and tuna. All were super fresh and paired great with the lemon vinaigrette), Gulf Red Snapper Ceviche (also super refreshing and light) and a dozen of mixed oysters. Shareable mains we got was the New England Clam Chowder (not my favorite, texture was off for me), Lobster Roll (good amount of chunks of lobster mixed with mayo sauce and when you dipped it in the melted butter was perfect, also came with some super skinny cut Clark fries - extra crunchy), Oak Grilled Spanish Octopus*** (MUST GET, charred to perfection and cooked nicely) and the Pan Roasted Gulf Snow Grouper (roasted beautifully and flaky). One of my favorite things was actually their side of Crispy Marble Potatoes with Chimichurri (crispy indeed and the sauce was addicting). For dessert, they brought out their version of a Basque Cake topped with a cream cheese ice cream. Parking - Complimentary Valet Restrooms - Clean and had fancy napkins

A nice spot to go to unwind after work. It's such a fun and laid-back place, in the Montrose area. We went for happy hour and they had $4 oysters; we tried a bunch of different kinds and honestly, every single one was fresh and so delicious. The drinks were just as good and made well, just strong enough but not too strong. There's plenty of seating both inside and on the patio. They also offer valet parking. If you're looking for a casual spot with good vibes, fresh oysters, and great cocktails, definitely give this place a try.

I've been wanting to visit Clark's Oyster Bar ever since they opened. The restaurant always looks so warm and inviting every time I drive by--and today, we finally made it in! First thing I noticed when we walked in was how casual the atmosphere was. Lots of people in shorts and sneakers--not unusual for Houston, but the place definitely gives off a more upscale vibe from the outside. We were seated in a cozy corner with a great view of the whole restaurant. The décor is very nautical--it honestly felt like we were on a boat somewhere sunny and coastal. They brought out some sourdough bread while we looked over the menu, which was a nice touch. It was decent. Their oyster selection was well-rounded and even included some Texas oysters, which I appreciated. We ordered a mix from different regions. At $4 a pop, they're definitely on the pricey side, but they were fresh and tasty. The clam chowder was just okay--not something I'd order again. The mussels and clams (they were out of clams so I guess just mussels and mussels) ended up being my favorite dish of the night. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the toasted sourdough soaked it up beautifully--I could've made a meal out of just that. My wife had the Texas redfish, which was cooked perfectly. We also got a side of cauliflower that started off a bit too spicy for me but mellowed out as I kept eating it really grew on me. We ended with the key lime tart, which was light, bright, and a perfect way to finish the meal. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was solid, the service was friendly, and the vibe was laid-back and enjoyable. We'll definitely be back for a casual date night!

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. Not hard to find, it's located to the right as you walk in. What brought us here is that it's listed as one of the top 50 bars in Houston in Houstonia Magazine. Service (3/5): While we had a waitress, she was slow to greet us and slow to check up on us. It's a small bar and there isn't a ton of seating so it's not like she was overwhelmed. For a fancy hotel, you expect better. Maybe sitting at the bar is better than sitting at some seats as we did. Ambiance (4/5): The Colombe d'Or is a beautiful hotel and Bar No. 3 reflects that. It's an elegant spot to grab a drink, although small. Food (N/A): While there are expensive items on the menu, I had dinner earlier that night so I was on a liquid diet. Drinks (3/5): Bar No. 3 is known for its cocktails so I focused on the cocktail list. The list isn't large but it features a nice selection. Like the food, you're going to pay a premium. I enjoyed my adult beverage but felt like it was a bit overpriced. Hitting up hotel bars isn't a common occurrence in Houston unless you're a traveler. For Bar No. 3 to be the only hotel bar on Houstonia's top 50 is a feat in itself.
