    Overload

Continues to be the GOAT for soul food in Houston. Even though they moved locations, the food is as good as ever and mama gives generous portions. Can't wait to be back!

Hot topic shrimp/fish blackened over potatoe

Very family oriented business, super friendly owners. Food is always fresh and hot. Hot topic is a staple that you can't go wrong trying if your new here. I can't say that I have a favorite because everything tastes AWSOME and I have tried EVERYTHING! The steak and lamb is super tender; lobster, fish and shrimp perfectly cooked. But when I tell you the secret recipe sauce is addictive ....TRUST ME !!! Cause they can put the sauce on a tire and you will eat yourself in a coma! Don't sleep on them ...pleez!! THANK ME LATER !!!!!!

100% worth the calories. Delicious food cooked with love from amazing people. Very friendly and get to know their customers while you wait also serving samples. Creamy, spicy deliciousness in every bite with the fish, grits and of course overload. So much food for an amazing price! Will definitely be back for more when I'm in the area!

OMG! This place is a MUST! If you're looking to pick up some home cooking, this is the place for you. To say the food is top notch is an understatement! This is a hole in the wall you don't wanna pass up. Don't let the store front fool you! Believe me when I say it's a MUST TRY! We got the hot topic & overload combo. Chef's kiss! Pasta, with white sauce, sausage, shrimp, & blackened fish. Perfection! I got fried fish on the side. OMG! Fried to perfection. 10 out of 10! We forgot to take a pic of the entire plate before we dug in. Husband/Wife owners- they were so sweet and a perfect pair. We will definitely be regulars!

I've been wanting to try Bobobs for quite some time. We have family in town so we decided to order to go. We were told the order would be ready in 25 min. We got there with 5 min to spare but it took an hour for us to get our food. Bobobs is located inside of a gas station and is very much a hole in a wall which can be charming but in this case there was nothing esthetically positive. The area at night is roughhhhhh. The food itself was ok. The Hot topic was very salty. They also forgot our fries. That being said, they included a lot of shrimp, sausage, and fish. The main flavors you got were salt and butter. The gumbo was a bit more balanced but not mind blowing.

Good flavor! Will be back..they even let you sample.

Great customer service. The let you sample food..all food sampled was delish...the broccoli with cornbread was a hit..will be back.

    The overload

So Yelp provided me this suggestion and it looked so interesting, soul food out of a gas station. I consider myself fairly adventurous so why not? Walking in, you really wouldn't think much of this spot. It is literally inside the Valero gas station store but walk on towards the back and you'll start smelling various spices and food. I came on a Saturday night and there were a few people already waiting on their dinners. The chefs provided me some samples (which were amazing) and took my order and sent me on my way with a hefty portion of delicious smelling food. There is very limited seating available. I got the overload and it was so good (and just as good leftover). Its a lot of food and I echo someone's sentiment that it's a tad salty but you eat it with rice and it is perfect. The rice soaks up all that wonderful creamy sauce, you get chunks of chicken, andouille, and shrimp and again, they do not skimp on the protein. Between the mom and pop shop, wonderful chefs, and amazing food, I can't wait to come back and get more food. They have gumbo and fried foods that I need to get! This is the epitome of do not judge a book by its cover so please bring the kind folks at bobobs your business.

    Overload Fries

This place is AMAZING! We're from Colorado and it was our first time visiting here but all the people working there was so nice to us. They gave us a sample of the Overload when we deciding and gave us some recommendations. We ordered the Overload and Philly cheese steak but all of them were so good. Additionally, owner came to us to try some Overload fries and they gave us for free!!! I'll come back to this place when I come back to Houston. Thank you!

Left, Blackened fish and shrimp. Right, The Overload, all served over white rice.

Food was great and I think the owner might be my biological father. Not sure, either way it's great and especially for a convenience store.

We started with the oysters (which were so good I completely forgot to get a picture ), and they definitely set the tone for the meal. My entrée was beautifully prepared and full of flavor -- the fish was perfectly cooked, and I loved the fresh corn, tomatoes, peppers, and greens that accompanied it. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned without overpowering the fish. Dessert was the perfect ending -- warm, sweet, crunchy and even better with the ice cream on the side. And of course, a good meal calls for a martini! Overall, Eunice was a hit. Great food, beautiful presentation, and a menu that made Houston Restaurant Weeks feel like a real dining experience rather than a scaled-down version of their regular offerings. I'd absolutely come back and explore more of the regular menu. Definitely worth a visit!

Time to Appetizers: 20 Minutes Time to Crawfish: 25 Minutes It's a solid branch from the main location in Bellaire, but they're missing some things. For example, the Bellaire location has the new Viet-Cajun flavor of sauce that hasn't debuted here yet (though you can DIY a mix). (Review is for July 2026 if they've updated since then) We got here at 6:05PM and got seated with no issues. Ordered the following: Combo #1 with extra corn and potatoes (3.5/5): Crawfish isn't in season, so don't be surprised at my low rating. It's still great and flavorful all around. Garlic Noodles with Shrimp (4/5): Still incredibly rich and buttery and garlicy and great for a palate cleanser. I'd skip the shrimp; you get eight pieces for $10 extra and that's not really worth it. Crawfish Beignets (4.5/5): Still a fantastic appetizer. Comes out hot, crispy, buttery, and is a really indulgence. 1 lb. Little Neck Clams (4.5/5): I liked these more than the crawfish tbh. It really does depend on what's in season. Very easy to eat, very flavorful. Service was generally good but our server seemed slammed; it took a long time to get water refills and to place extra orders (we got a second order of beignets to-go). Market price for crawfish is high and they're not in season, so don't be afraid to ask. The Combo #1 in July 2026 was $22. Overall, I'll probably be back during crawfish season especially because it's more convenient for me than the Bellaire location, but the Bellaire location has it beat for general atmosphere after the remodeling and much better options for mixes there.

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind.
