Roast beef with a side of home fries.
Tim W.

I heard and read about Bobo's Restaurant on Grant Avenue Tucson, AZ. It was highly recommended. It is not a real fancy restaurant but the food was delicious. My wife had a special which included a large blueberry pancake, one egg, one sausage and a piece of bacon for $7.99. Yes, that is not a misprint. I was wondering how she liked her special. Well, she devoured everything which tells me what she thought. I had a roast beef sandwich with tomato, lettuce, cheese on sourdough bread and it hit the spot. Many items on the menu. Check it out. The service was very good. Friendly. As we were checking out, I asked when they opened. 5:30AM-1:00PM. They are closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Always busy. Parking is tight. Credit cards accepted.

If you're in Tucson and craving that no-nonsense, feel-good, classic breakfast, Bobo's is basically a rite of passage. This spot is old-school in the best way; nothing fancy, nothing pretentious, just straightforward comfort food that hits the morning reset button. They've got all the breakfast staples covered, but their pancakes? Those come with a twist. Think fluffy, oversized, and just quirky enough to stand out. Prices are refreshingly affordable, portions are exactly what you'd hope for (big enough to hold you over. Only catch? The place is small. Bobo's is one of Tucson's classics for a reason. Great breakfast, fun twists, friendly people, and prices that won't hurt your feelings.

If you're looking for fancy, keep driving. But if you want a classic greasy spoon that smells like sizzling sausage and burnt coffee in the best possible way -- this is it. The biscuits and gravy are unapologetically creamy, the sausage does its job (greasy, salty, no notes), and the whole thing feels like a warm hug from your slightly chaotic favorite aunt. Service is quick and friendly, coffee refills come without asking, and you leave feeling like you made a good life choice for under $15. Nothing mind-blowing, but it hits that simple, satisfying spot perfectly.

One of our Tucson breakfast favorites. The wait can be long on the weekends so go early or after the morning rush to avoid the wait. This place really has the nostalgic diner feel and is always full of locals. The pancakes are MASSIVE and worth the wait every time. We've tried a number of omelets and the the items that come with sausage gravy, all good!

The best Chicken Fried Steak! The best customer service! The actual restaurant is small, mom n pop style it isn't the prettiest place but the food and service is great. One pancake is all you need for a family of 4 at least.

Stopped in for breakfast before a long drive and ordered the Huevos Rancheros. Absolutely nailed it. Perfectly cooked eggs, rich sauce with real chile flavor (not watered down), and a plate that actually fills you up. This is the kind of breakfast that sets your whole day straight. Service was fast, friendly, and genuinely welcoming--no rush, no attitude, just pros who know what they're doing. You can tell this place has been doing it right for a long time. If you want a real Tucson breakfast, skip the trendy brunch nonsense and come here. Worth going out of your way for.

Delicious home cooked food and excellent service. Didn't realize they had dirt parking in the back of the restaurant which was convenient. They do have an understandable egg charge right now. The banana chocolate chip pancake was incredible. Not too thick, the banana were caramelized and just the right ratio of chocolate chips. Their staff were attentive and helpful.

We tried based on a friends recommendation and we're extremely happy. Don't let the exterior or location scare you away! Our food was served hot and wrasses as good as it looked. Friendly staff and reasonable prices too

We had breakfast here. Food was awesome and the service made us feel right at home. The corned beef was some of the best I've had. Service was great. Had servers checking in with us fairly often to make sure everything was okay. Prices are very reasonable. Wish we had discovered this place sooner.

Is bobo's closed? Went today and was boarded up?

They are closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Other than that they are open for breakfast and lunch until 1 pm.

We drove by multiple times this week and it appears closed? Are we going to the wrong location? The address here on Yelp is the one we are using, is there perhaps a back entrance?

They're only open for breakfast and lunch. What hours have you stoped by? The entrance is in front facing Grant.

Every morning on my way to TMC, I stopped at Bono's for a quick breakfast. But they have not been open the last couple weeks. What's up?

However, I have to give 3 stars for the overall execution of my meal. I had a half of a Hammer sandwich which was about $8. It's ham, soppressata, cheese, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, dijon, vinegar, oil, garlic sauce. Unfortunately, I felt that my sandwich came with skimpy toppings. I got a pretty thinly stacked layer of ham and 2 little ovals of soppressata. The cheese was barely present. I also would have loved more tomato. I got a good amount of lettuce and banana peppers, though! Unfortunately, I just couldn't taste the meat and cheese toppings super well due to their being not much of them on the sandwich. The flavor of all the other ingredients were good, though. My friend got the Scramwich on Foccacia for $14. Looking at it, I could also tell it had not much proscuitto. Upon further inspection opening one of the halves of the sandwich... it was definitely only a few little smaller pieces of proscuitto. (The other toppings were on the other piece of bread, don't worry, those were fine) Sorry for the ugly photo - hard to really capture it without dissecting the thing. I also just noticed while looking at the photo again that one of the pieces of arugula also had black spots on it... Definitely not very fresh. My friend still enjoyed the foccacia, sundried tomatoes, and other toppings, but also felt there wasn't enough proscuitto. For the price, I would hope for a sufficient amount of meat. Heard a lot of hype about Quisty's and I see great potential in their quality and concepts! With better execution I'd definitely consider coming back. It's just hard to justify paying as much as we did for sandwiches that were skimpy on arguably one of the most important toppings!

I stopped in and asked the lady behind the counter if they had Krakow. She said yes and pointed to a sausage in the case. I said no, that was not it as it was much smaller around than what I grew up eating, which (in the midwest) is around 6" across. The lady said they've been making Krakow for 40 years, and "that's the way people like it here", and that's that. I asked her if i could show her a picture of what I was talking about. She said it wouldn't do any good (to show a picture). She pretty much ignored me and went on to other tasks. I asked for a taste and she sliced off a piece. It's about 80% taste-wise of what I grew up eating, not nearly garlicky enough but close enough to buy a pound. As she was slicing it, she said "he" makes it once a year right after Thanksgiving and when it's gone, it's gone. So I asked for 2# and said I was going to freeze some. She said it would dry out when frozen so I only got 1#. Perhaps she was really busy, but she didn't seem to have time for me. She was pleasant enough with my requests but not very friendly. Not sure I'll go back.

This place is located in an artsy / entertainment district close to downtown. When we went, there was road construction nearby that made getting here more challenging. Once we located it, the next challenge was parking. We visited around noon on a Saturday. There are no large parking lots, so you have to find something on-street. We ventured a couple of blocks off the main street and found something. However, the signage wasn't really clear on whether you had to pay on weekends or not. We accessed the parking app via a QR code, but it told us that our space 'was not available', despite the fact that we were in the space. A guy leaving the space next to us confirmed that parking *was* free on weekends, so we trusted that and walked to the restaurant. In retrospect, I think the app meant that we did not need to pay, but 'not available' seems a bit vague for that... The restaurant is located on a strip of old storefronts that now house restaurants, record shops, etc. There was a lot of pedestrian traffic out front, including a homeless guy asking for change. The atmosphere was sort of a loud, slightly cramped dive bar. I don't mean that in a bad way, but that was the vibe. The music was loud - none of it was familiar but I didn't hate it. I guess my point is that if you are looking for a quiet spot for lunch, this is probably not it. We initially were offered a table on their covered patio. We left one person there while sorting out parking, but when we came back they had a booth inside so we grabbed that instead. The patio seemed shaded and semi-comfortable, other than a loud barking dog. We browsed the menus and ordered our food. We all got half-and-half combos (soup/salad or sandwich/soup). The only issue was that the soups came in a bread bowl. I was able to finish my soup, but felt bad about not eating more of the bowl. If I'd had the option, I would have gotten a plastic bowl. The salad was pretty big, despite being only half. I finished most of it. We ended up having sufficient leftovers from others such that we took them back to our hotel (a relatively short drive) and finished them the next evening. All the food was tasty. This wasn't what I was expecting, but I'd consider eating here again given the right circumstances / group.
