Did I just find my new favorite breakfast spot in Tucson, and by accident no less? Quite possibly yes! Was actually planning to go to a different restaurant for breakfast, but it's closed on Sundays, so me and a friend pivoted here. We waited no longer than 10 minutes and were greeted by a kind host, who seated us at the counter, giving us a fun view into the kitchen and view of the bar and prep area. Our remarkable service continued, as the waitress was attentive, pleasant, and gave us recommendations on some of her and regulars' favorites. After getting a cup of coffee, we shared a fluffy, tender cinnamon roll to start. I then chased it down with the 2 Egg and Bacon breakfast. Ordered my bacon and hash browns extra crispy and let me just say...WOW! I have been an avid frequenter of Baja Cafe and Bobo's for years, but Bread & Butter Cafe may have them both beat! This cafe off 22nd Street and Columbus is the perfect spot to get an all American breakfast. A cup of regular coffee, an omelette, traditional breakfast, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, and pie. This spot is in walking distance and usually filled with customers coming for a traditional meal. My husband and mom love biscuits and gravy and often order it here. If you come first thing they have a breakfast plate special during the first hour of the day, Monday through Friday. I have consistently had someone acknowledge me the moment I come in the door, the service is always very friendly. My coffee is topped off quickly,and the bill comes as soon as you're thinking I'm about done. The interior is a quaint warm space, perhaps a bit dated, but it's always spotlessly clean. The dining room has a counter, booths and table and chair options for seating. If you're looking for a place to have a filling predictable breakfast experience , this is a great place to stop in and have exactly that. read more

This is my go-to for a delicious home cooked breakfast, brunch, and dessert! It's seat yourself when you walk in and all the staff is really friendly. Little to no wait time to get our drink order in and our waitress came around to check on us and my coffee cup was refilled when needed. It's not fancy but it's a really nice and relaxing place to enjoy a meal or go to celebrate a special occasion. I'm pretty simple, scrambled eggs with bacon, hash browns, and toast for me. Went into Tucson to conduct some interviews and used Bread & Butter Cafe as our meeting spot. Little did we know we landed in a well known Tucson breakfast spot. The food was great and big portions for the money spent. Grilled cheese, cinnamon roll and the turkey club were so good. Topped it off with fresh pie and we were calling it a day! Connie was the best, we took up her table for hours but she didn't ignore us or make us feel bad. She kept our coffee cups and our belly's full! Must try if you're in the area! read more

Dropped in to B&B cafe today for lunch. Always a pleasure. Locally owned small business. Service is top notch. Place is very clean, food is from scratch and pies are delicious. I had the French Dip sandwich. It was very tasty but the au jus was extremely salty. My server told the kitchen about it. There wasn't any cherry pie left but I snagged the last piece of chocolate cream pie. Yummy. flaky crust, perfect amount of cream and I was in pie heaven. Classic breakfast spot with lots of charming signs on the walls. Great prices on the early bird special! Despite the name, I wasn't expecting to love a piece of buttered toast in the morning. It was perfectly toasted with salted butter. I spread some jam on it, and it was delightful. I felt like Mercy Watson craving that hot buttered toast all day. I'm not a breakfast person usually. Service is excellent. We were in and out in under 30 minutes before a day of work. I'd definitely return. There's ample parking and plenty of seats too. read more

This little cafe was close to our Airbnb. I am happy we decided to try it and not go with one of our more familiar restaurants. Bread & Butter was a delightful cafe! You could tell they had several regulars in there enjoying their morning breakfast. I ordered a chorizo omelet. It was so good. I devoured it in less than 10 minutes I think. The plate portions are large sizes. They have a white board that lists their daily pies. They had a variety of options. I tried the chocolate brownie pecan to go. It was yummy warmed up for 10 seconds. This was a laid back cafe. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. The food a must try! read more

I had the pork tenderloin which was a processed Patty but tasty enough that I may have it again. They serve it topped with a bland brown gravy. If there's a next time I'll have to ask for white gravy. The mashed potatoes were definitely real as they were chunky but also missing something. Not creamy or buttery. The vegetable of the day was boiled carrots with no extra flavoring. Not bad, not great, at least they weren't sweetened. The best part was the pie. Friendly greeting telling us to sit wherever we like and as soon as we did, we were greeted by a young man to ask us what we wanted to drink and to let us know our server would be with us soon. He brought us our drinks right away. Our sever came within a few moments to ask if we were ready, we indeed were! It was lunchtime but we wanted breakfast so I ordered a standard breakfast of 2 eggs, toast, sausage and fruit instead of potatoes. Mom had chicken fried steak. And most importantly a slice of pie to-go for later!! Zero complaints..food came quickly was hot and cooked perfectly. Eggs were nice and fluffy, sausage was tasty and not greasy, fruit was fresh and ripe. I'm guessing Mom's chicken fried steak was delicious because I looked up and it was gone. Of course we'll be back but before we left we made sure to let the owner know how great our meal was and thanked him for such a great restaurant. I have been searching for bfast for the last 30 minutes. I had forgotten all about this little gem. Mom & pop owned little cafe with counter seating & 20 tables that can be arranged for large parties. Kitchen is happy & you can see the cooks laffing & talking. The serving staff are friendly and attentive. And they have homemade cinnamon buns & PIES!!! I had 2 eggs w link sausage, grits & and English muffin. Jelly is on the tables in square packets. As an ex restaurant manager what I love the most about this place is the flow and attitude of the employees They are super friendly, on top of it in service and you can tell they are treated well by the owner . The food was cooked exactly as ordered. Over medium eggs were over medium. Ham was ample sized and Flavorful. A truly neighborhood place. Great for breakfast. They also serve lunch but I've never been. I love the French toast with some fresh fruit. Yummy! The waitresses are extremely busy but very nice. The ambience is simple. It's not a large dining room so it's designed to hold as many guests as possible, but it has a great energy! It was decent. Seems like they have a ton of regulars. I am guessing that is why everyone there is ok with the cooks not wearing gloves. Made it in for breakfast with a friend for breakfast and it was a great choice. The place was hopping with the low rumble of Sunday morning breakfast crowd. The service was prompt and friendly. The menu has something for everyone and some great options on breakfast basics. My friend always gets eggs Benedict anywhere he goes. This place has three versions! So now he has to go back to try the other two. The traditional was the choice today and he says they were in the top 10 he's ever had. I had traditional eggs over-easy and bacon with banana pancakes. The pancakes were exceptional. The flavor was all the way through the batter and there were a few pieces of banana to be found. No need for syrup just butter.
