I think Bob and his technician are fabulous. I have a 2002 Toyota Tacoma truck with hand roll up windows in great shape. I have spoken with a few other guys and they tried to up sell me motors for the doors and what nots. Bob and Co. said we can do the job just a is. They did was to be done and the did it. They are as honest as the day is long and their price was a lot lower than what the other guys were offering. If you are looking for a guy who will treat you right go see Bob. Long story short, brought my 2025 Toyota Corolla cross to get an amp and sub woofer installed on 2/18. On 2/19 noticed really bad static and other sounds coming from the radio stations. Went back that same day for them to check it out. Couldn't find the problem. They asked if I can bring it back the next day. 2/20 brought it in, still couldn't locate the issue. They unplugged it and as I drove off with it NO MORE sounds. The next morning still crystal clear. Decided I didn't have it in me to continue to come back for them to figure out what the issue was so they agreed to take back the equipment and give me back a refund. Took my car to install an amp and subwoofer that I already owned. Took the installer 5 hours which is pretty ridiculous. After the installation I noticed engine whine coming from my front speaker. Took my car back but the installer did not seem interested in finding the issue and dismissed it because the noise wasn't coming from the sub, even though he tapped the front speaker to connect the sub instead of attaching directly to the head unit. I know I shouldn't have taken my vehicle here because they weren't busy and the reviews are terrible, but I was pressed for time and my regular guy was booked until the following weekend. Avoid Bob's if you want your car audio installed by professionals. I'll be taking my car to my regular guy and paying him to fix what Bob's car audio broke. Never, again!! read more

It was late afternoon on a Saturday as I was excited about taking my classic for a drive within a few minutes my audio system was dead . I checked all the fuses, checked the power to the system and everything else I could think of but absolutely no luck in finding the source of the problem. I looked up Bob on Yelp and he was kind enough to see me last minute as they we're getting ready to go home . I got there and he came out and start working on the car and within minutes he found the problem ;) It was a simple broken ground wire to the system and wait-in 45 min I was back on the road and happy that the next day ( Sunday ) left to take her back out for a beautiful drive along the coast . DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! My husband brought his car here to get his speaker installed. They were behind on getting people's cars done, so they told him they wouldn't be able to work on his vehicle until the following day, but they would store his car inside and lock it up, so it was safe. Well.....I looked at the reviews for this place after he told me that and immediately thought something didn't sound right. We live around the corner, so at 10:30 pm, we drove by to see if they did what they said they would do. Not only did they NOT do what they said they'd do, but they also left his 2020 dodge charger 392 outside with both front windows COMPLETELY DOWN!!!!! Thank god for the second set of keys. We took the car home, and I advised him to take his car somewhere else that deserves the business and the money. What makes it even worse is that had we not gone and checked if the vehicle was stored correctly, the car would have been sitting with the windows down for two days in an open parking lot! Do now take your car here if you genuinely value your car and people's word. They do neither. read more

Terrible experience at Bob's car audio. Had a stereo and speakers installed in a 2017 Hyundai. Told me the car would be done by 2pm but wasn't ready until 7pm. Showed up to pickup the car and the kid who works there was smoking a joint right next to my car. I got in the car and turned it on, he had the speakers on the highest volume and almost blew my ears out. Found 4 random screws laying on the floor in the back. Drove away and heard rattling in the door panel. Took off the door panel off and the front speaker was held in with 1 screw. All of the door panels were scratched and there was at least one missing screw in every door panel (that explains the screws laying on the floor). I attached pictures of their quality work. Will gladly never return to Bob's these guys are amateurs with poor customer service. read more

Went to get my back up camera repaired or changed. Initially told it would take 3hours and an easy job. The more they worked on it the worse it got. I think they broke or dislodged something in the wiring. Anyway, after leaving my car there for 3 days and $400 later, I ended up with a rear view mirror back up camera that is not worth what they charge. The image is much smaller than what I had on the console and not clear at all at night. This went from something simple to a hot mess. Definitely not recommending this place. read more

Update: We told them to put everything together and we called AAA. The car started when they put it together but the CHECK ENGINE light was on. AAA came and said the can't do anything with the check engine light but checked the battery. I explicitly told Bob that any repairs the car requires will be his responsibility and to his credit, he said yes immediately. We drove the car home and I took it to the Lexus dealership. Long story short, they are not familiar with newer hybrid cars and they disconnected safety features unknowingly that required a reset. The dealership charged $1225 and I informed Bob over the phone immediately and again, to his credit, he said he'll pay it. Although, he was asking me to pay for the $200 labor we agreed early on. I reminded him that the dash cam is not working at all and I now have to pay for somebody else to investigate what they did and re-install the dash cam. He said ok and no longer asked for the labor charge. He gave me the check after I brought him the invoice from the dealership. We finally had the dash cam inspected today. According to the new installer, Bob's technique to install it is old-school and they have not done it since the 90's. They also shoved something into the fuse box which they were not supposed to which broke it. Oh, the rear camera was installed upside down and too low. It took the new guy 3 hours to figure out what happened and fix it. He also found that they disconnected certain parts in the trunk area that would've caused a leak if it was raining. So, overall, despite the quick response and payment from Bob, I would not take my car to him. read more

I bought my car used two years ago and the stereo was missing buttons and didn't work. Out of pure laziness I just listened to my phone in my car. I finally but a néw stereo online and needed it installed. I went to a shop yesterday and they told me $225 to install it. I thought that was a lot so I decided, because of good Yelp reviews, to come to Bob's. Bob looked at it right away said it would be $100 and that he had time to do it then. Perfect! Went here in October to get a new radio with wireless Bluetooth compatibility. We picked out the stereo, paid ahead of time and was told it would take an hour or two for the install. We were leaving out of town the next morning and wanted it for our vacation. They said they'd call us when they were done. 5 hrs later, I called to check on it. The woman at the counter told us to come in it'd be done in few minutes. I sat there for 2 1/2 more hours waiting while the kid did the install. He finally hands me my keys and says, "it's all good!" I get in my car and not only was my dash torn up, the guy left his screwdriver, screws and all sorts of parts thrown around my car. The best yet...IT WAS NOT THE STEREO WE PURCHASED! The one we paid for and wanted had a large touch screen face. It was around $350. The one he put in the car was one of those cheap $100 dollar ones that the face pops off and on. The dash was loose and the compartment they popped in to fill all the extra space was flimsy and falling out. He took apart my steering column to put a mic on it. The plastic around the steering column is all messed up now and won't pop back together. Not to mention the screen above the stereo that shows Which direction you're going, It has our clock and the A/C controls is now just black! They screwed up the wiring. I got out of my car and asked where the stereo is I bought. He said the one we got doesn't have a compatible kit. They don't make them for Honda Pilots. Which is bullshit since I checked into it. I was sitting right there for hours while he changed out the stereos. Not once did he mention it or ask if it was okay to replace it with this crappy one...nothing! He then goes to "ring me up" and I gave him my receipt to show we already paid...for the expensive one. He hands it back and starts closing up the shop. I left very unhappy! The next day on our way to our vacation I called and talked to Bob the owner. He said to come back in and they'll fix it. Brought it back again, showed him the receipt and told him what happened. All they did was screw the flimsy plastic pieces in tighter and tried to fix the wiring for our A/C screen. They couldn't and didn't offer any further help! I asked Bob for a new receipt for the cheap stereo I'm stuck with now. He grabs my old receipt and writes down the name of the cheap stereo with no price...offers NO refund, and walks away! I didn't get the stereo I paid for. I didn't get the difference back which was a few hundred dollars. The only thing I got out of all of this was hours wasted, a shitty stereo that looks like a tweaker installed it.., a screwed up steering column, a broken A/C /clock screen and a massive headache! read more

Back in October of last year I went to Bobs to have a system put in, at first everything seemed cool. Although he kept my car for two days & charged me 2,000 dollars I was ok with it. The tweeters they installed have been falling out of the door, that started a few months back. At first it was one & now it's both. I have to turn the radio up to a certain volume (past 30) for all the speakers to come on. The volume goes down when turning it up & vice versa. I've wanted to go back & complain but I'm black & this is Torrance so sadly I just took the L. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place based off of my own personal experience. Last thing... I walked in earlier with a friend to see what kinda of audio equipment they have, before I could even walk into the door. One of the workers asked what he could help me with, which is kinda nice (why I mention this is because you want to know what products your buying before they install it, so you dont get ripped off). I initially told him what kind of set up my friend was interested in getting, 4 speakers and a sub woofer + amp + wires. He gave off a ridiculous price (1200$) for just the 2x 12 inch subs + box + amp + wires + installation, I was able to take a look at all the alpine products they have and there was nothing there worth that price besides the sub box(250$) . I calculated how much it would be for a good alpine set up and it would be 680$ with installation included, if you buy your own box. I'd recommend going to south gate audio, they can also be a tiny bit dishonest too but if you compare every price together you will get an amazing deal. I spent 480$ there because I bought my own box, they also help you choose what can work together. Most places wont even let you take a look at there products, I suggest to do research if your not interested in getting ripped off. I clearly knew what he was trying to do, I don't like to assume but Im almost positive he tried to do this to make money. Im very aware of these types situations. read more

Bob's is a top notch and honest stereo shop. The staff is friendly and customer focused (thx Alex). I got a recommendation from a friend with a 1965 Chevelle SS, so I took my 1965 Cadillac there. In short, if we can entrust our babies with them you can trust them with your sled. The best part of the experience was, since I am DIY type of guy, I needed some more complex wiring done to finish the job. Tom really helped me out explaining what he was doing and charging me a fair price. I got a quote for the same job at a shop on Aviation in Hermosa for $200. After someone tries to rip you off, it's a breath of fresh air to know there are still honest and reputable people out there. Once I get some more coin I am going back for an amp and install. Will highly recommend not going here...The work done was not up to par.Took over 8 hours to put in 1 amp and run two sets of speakers wire which turned out to be low grade aluminum...Not copper...cheap...cutting conners...On top of all this job was not done...Needed to go back...Guess what I did...That's right went somewhere else...Had the worst experience here...Had a bad experience here...Thier work ethic is poor...the quality of thier work is poor...Had to pay someone else to re do my sounds right...Was told by the tech...what they did could of cause a fire n ruin my amp n speakers...Highly upset at thier lack of safety n just thier ability to get a simple task done in a reasonable time...Dont go waste your time at Bobs... I had a stereo and new speakers put in a month ago and they went out of their way to make it right. I had an unusual problem in my VW Van there was light coming in that reflected of the face plate so it was difficult to read the led display they literally spent hours trying to solve the problem including changing the stereo 3 times just to make me happy. I had them change all the speakers so the enhance the quality of the sound they put capacitors on the speakers to balance the sound and the remounted two speakers with the sole purpose of getting the best sound, I noticed they sometime underestimate the time it will take but it's because their heart is in the right place and they want it done right, I have been back 5 or 6 times to learn more about the bluetooth or satellite radio and they are always very helpful. Replaced a stock deck in my Tacoma with a Touch screen with Bluetooth. Bob also included a backup camera and upgraded speakers. The price was sooo much better than what I had quoted at Best Buy. The installation was clean and the new setup is great. I came back a week later to upgrade the deck in my Jeep Grand Cherokee with an updated Pioneer dvd player. Everything was installed neatly. Will have to return because I forgot to make sure the steering wheel controls worked properly. They didn't but I have no doubt Bob will take care of it. read more

Bob the owner is a nice guy. I had my alarm installed there 7 years ago, they still take good care of me. Got issue with the factory alarm that acted up with the after market one couple years after but Bob fixed it without even charging. Today, Got my window actuator and lock acted up, called him and he said bring the car over. I thought it was related to the alarm but turn out my truck is just old. His guy fixed it while I'm waiting and this is not even alarm related or stereo related but they just said they know how to fix it. They don't try to sell you stuffs you don't need but instead try to fix the problem of my old truck which is very nice of them. read more

Great guys! Had my factory stereo modified to hook up my phone a few years ago. When a piece of the integration kit broke off, I went to Al and Ed's and they said they didn't have that model kit anymore and to change the entire stereo. Maybe $300. Another al and Ed's said $85 to open up the dash and diagnose. These guys, I have seen on my way home for years and finally decided to check them out. They not only had the specific piece, gave me an old one they had for free. I had them put it in for me so I could pay them something and they only asked for $10. A+++++ Highly recommended local business. Went in yesterday to buy an iPhone integration kit for my 2005 Xterra, and have it installed. Discussed all the pros and cons with Alex, who was super knowledgeable and patient. He suggested that a new head unit with bluetooth and AUX-in might also be an option, and after looking at some models, I settled on a nice new SONY that cost the same (installed) as a much less elegant after-market iPhone adaptor solution. During the shopping process, he even unboxed a new Pioneer Appradio and did a quick demo hookup in the shop, so i could see how it worked. Also spoke with Bob the owner while looking at head units--he was really friendly and informative. Alex is awesome, and the shop has very good prices and a high level of professionalism and expertise. My installation was flawless and quick, too. Plus, they offer a lifetime warranty on their installation work (for as long as you own the car). Who can beat that? Save yourself a headache and head to Bob's. read more
