Be aware that if u order from for delivery by a 3rd party (Uber Eats, Doordash...), this restaurant doesn't close up their order of chips. They throw the chips in a brown paper bag and leave it open. Not very sanitary ESPECIALLY when dealing with a 3rd party delivery company. Tried calling to ask if that was the "norm" and was told it was! "That's just how they do it. And it's done that way at all locations." It doesn't take much to close the bag with some tape..a sticker...something! Food was ok. The Spanish rice had grated carrots, I think, which gave it a sweet taste. We didn't like that. The red enchilada sauce had a strange (not bad) initial taste, but got spicier. Like someone else said, the tacos are big and there's plenty of meat, it's just tasteless. Ambiance - didn't really like the music being so loud that we could hardly hear each other across the table. This was the most disgusting food I have eaten in a very long time. I don't even know what to compare it to. The meat tasted like it was boiled. The carne Asada tasted like a roast and not carne Asada meat. The tortillas looked like and tasted as if they had been microwaved. You know what, in writing this I've realized what I can compare it too. I'd feel safer eating out of a dumpster. Love Boca, it is close and coinvent, the food is good, but for the last five weeks my schedule has varied and it is almost a test of how fast my food is completed before a pickup order. Today was the worst, I ordered at 4:45 for a 5:30 pickup, I had ended my day a bit early and showed up over 20 minutes before my order pickup time (5:10) and my food was already on the counter. Chicken tacos, so it had been out for who knows how long I had to throw it all away and make food at my house. Yuck. This is the whitest "taqueria " you could find. The food was not good. We ordered the family pack of tacos but you can only pick one protein and two garnishes. We ordered asada and it was terrible. The queso was not great. The kids quesadilla was microwaved to death. The beans were the best thing. And the service...on kid flirting with his girlfriend while all the tables sat dirty. We had to ask for plates when the food came which perplexed him because "family packs are usually togo". We love eating here. It's in our neighborhood. We taste all the delicious recipes that we were familiar with from Rancho de Tia Rosa. The nachos are amazing. There's so much meat and toppings. You honestly get meat with every single bite. I don't get the poor ratings. We go here a couple times on a month and not once had an issue. The fajitas have always been my favorite. We've been several times. Have read the previous reviews - but our experiences have only been positive. It's a great neighborhood spot. Friendly, casual, comfortable. And the food and drinks are great! Mat is the GM and he's spoken with us each visit. Sounds like Boca had some of the normal opening challenges - and finding good help isn't easy these days. But they are finding their way from our perspective. And we have ordered out several times as well with no issues. If you live in the East Mark area - put this place on your list. read more

I've used the Higley location several times for business meetings and it is one of our family favorites. We were attending a movie in east Mesa and decided to try the Eastmark location. I ordered shrimp tacos for myself and whatever my family wanted. They brought me salmon tacos and I told them it was wrong. A manager came to me with the receipt and told me I did in fact order salmon and not shrimp tacos. I told her no and she said well you can have them but because it would take a long time to make a replacement. I said never mind and they offered me beans and rice and I said ok. I never received my beans and rice so we left. I felt like I was interrogated by two employees stating I did in fact order salmon and not shrimp. They were rude and I will not be going back to this location. read more

The food here is terrible. The refried pinto beans tasted like lard and only lard. The rice was nasty. The chicken taquitos tasted like they were the frozen ones you get at Walmart. This is our 2nd attempt at eating at this place since they opened. Not worth wasting your money! I asked for extra salad dressing, got home & there was NO dressing on my salad at all. Love the food here and have been to several locations prior to this visit but when eating here tonight our order was wrong (we ordered shrimp tacos and received salmon tacos instead) and instead of politely correcting our order we were interrogated by multiple employees insisting that we did order salmon tacos. We then asked for the tacos to be removed from the bill and another employee returned with the wrong taco plate and aggressively placed it on the table stating that it will be thrown away and we should still eat it. First time there the tortilla soup is amazing. The pumpkin horchata is divine. We also loved the queso, Boca burrito and relleno burrito. They don't skimp on the portions, when you pay for extra avocado actually get extra avocado. I like the red salsa. Haven't tried the green yet. The tortillas are so fresh. Placed a simple order to go, ate 1 taco on the way home & it was ok. When I arrived home the other portion of my meal was nasty. It went directly into the garbage. The rice & beans were cold even though it was a 5 minute drive and the cheeses enchilada was disgusting. Soggy & unedible, right into the can. I figured it would do more harm if I ate it versus just tossing it, so that is what happened. We just moved into the area so we can scratch this place off our list.
