Cozy place to get tasty Mexican cuisine. The restaurant space is a little small, so it's best to come during off rush hours. Service is very friendly, but when it gets busy, it's easy to be forgotten. The menu offers a nice variety of dishes to cater to many taste buds. I'm not usually a fan of bean dip, but theirs is phenomenal. I got the mini chimis, which came with 3 chicken, 3 beef, and a side of guacamole. We had a hard time finding a good, non fast food Mexican restaurant in the area. This was a great find for us! Three of us stopped in about 50 minutes before close. We were granted promptly and friendly. Great server and great service all around. My husband and brother in law got the steak fajitas and I got 2 soft shell tacos & rice. The guys loved the fajitas. I was in the mood for a Mexican breakfast. Noticed this location wasn't to far from home. I have tried Moreno's at other locations and enjoyed them, so we gave this place a try. First thing, this place is small. So it may be possible you may have ti wait for seating when busy. Everyone were very courteous and cordial. I ordered the machaca breakfast. It comes with beans, hash browns, and tortillas. This was very good, especially with their green salsa. My wife had the green sauce chilaquiles. This loved them. Horrible service. I ordered two hot dogs and waited over 40 minutes while customers who arrived after me were receiving full meals before I even got my order. When I politely brought it up to the older lady in charge, she was extremely rude and dismissive, saying, "They're just tacos." My husband responded, "They're just hot dogs, what's the difference?" I've tried giving this place multiple chances, but the older woman running the front continues to make the experience unpleasant. The younger staff members are always friendly and professional, but her attitude is driving customers away. She openly talks negatively about customers in front of other customers, which creates a very uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere. As with any Mexican restaurant it starts with the refried beans. If those are delicious, rest assured the food will be too. Moreno's hits the bean taste on the mark. The complimentary chips & salsa are fresh and yummy. They give you 3 types of salsa to dip. Which is unheard of. Kudos to Morenos for the variety. We visited during busy lunch hour and were seated immediately. Lucky they have ample seating and they turn the tables rather quickly. It's a great to see so many regulars enjoying a fulfilling meal. The menu is vast the drink menu has something for everyone. I especially love the warm greeting as you walk in. I have yet to try the other locations in Arizona. We moved near this Moreno's several years ago and have ordered food for take out many times. Usually we order online and then go pick it up. We've never had anything that wasn't fresh and that didn't taste good. Their breakfast burritos aren't as good as some other places but lunch & dinner items we've had were all good. Street tacos lacked flavor from meat. Taco salad does not actually come with beans. They put the beans under the tortilla on the plate to hold the tortilla in place which is ridiculous.. I really don't appreciate the small tiny cups that you serve your salsa and and if you ask for a bowl, they'll charge you four dollars extra. I got red chili beef tamales, had great flavor and spice they were moist and not dried out (I'm a gringa but I grew up in Rio Rico). My boyfriend loved his Sonoran dog. What really sealed it for me, though, was the ownership. I will not support a business that shows zero respect or care for its community. Recently, my colleagues and I visited this Moreno's location, and I spoke directly with one of the owners, Myrna. I asked if they would consider helping support TSA officers at PHX Sky Harbor with a few food items during a difficult time. I want to be clear--no business is obligated to help, and I respect that. But her response was beyond disappointing. Her tone was rude and dismissive, and she outright said she doesn't care about my business--only about hers. That level of disregard and lack of professionalism was shocking. Between the lack of quality in the food and the way ownership treats people, I won't be coming back. Their Pozole is AMAZING! I've tried other things on the menu and everything I've tried has been OK but the pozole is really good and I usually just order to go. The space is small but the wait staff is always friendly and welcoming. Their margaritas are weak but also cheap so what do you expect. read more

I was in the shopping center and notice a few restaurants Moreno's had people coming in and out of it, they seem to enjoy the food, so I thought to give a chance since I'm Hispanic decent and I know what good Mexican food tastes like, was a bit disappointed on the menu but was surprised by how they cooked fish tacos, rice lacks favor and was dry, refried beans were good, along with the chips they serve them with red and green chile but the green chili was sweet and the red taste like tomato sauce rather than being spicy but to each their own, just a suggestion if you want to sell more to drink add a little bit of spice just saying and when you clean don't use to much fragrant sanitizer it's overwhelmed the palate and can stop a person's appetite read more

One red and one green is given. The green was unusually sweet yet different & I kinda liked it. Ordered the combo plate #13 Smothered Tamale & Crispy Taco for $14.89. The food was good (not great). The taco greasy, the tamale was small, to thick & dry. I couldn't continue to eat it. Beans & rice were somewhat bland. The prices were also a little to high in my opinion. Service was attentive. Nice low-key place to chat with friends & catch up. I doubt I'd be back anytime soon as there are so many other types of Mex out there & I've experienced much better flavors & flare that would better suited for my craving for authentic Mexican food. read more

The place is also very small so I feel suffocated inside, especially this time of year when it fill up.
