Pizza was cold. Waitress Never asked how it was, actually she never came back after dropping the 2 pies off.. First time eating here since I moved to North Port 1 year ago And it will be the last.. Also never asked to see if we wanted refills.. I talked to the manager and he said she was one of the best servers there and he'd make another pizza . I was somewhat disappointed because I came in with my family and me being Celiac couldn't eat anything but a plain salad that they had to quickly scramble up, they don't even have chicken to put in salads which is weird since they offer chicken topings on pizza. Wal mart down the road has gluten free $2.00 rice pasta and dough for cheap. Please consider Celiac/gluten free menu it won't cost much. Good local italian pizza joint. This is one of two locations I believe. We usually get great service here, but today service was slow and not so happy. Everyone has off days, right?! We stopped in for lunch and took advantage of the $8 menu. Pizza, meatball sub, wings and pasta available with salad and drink! Mom, sister and I split two pizzas. (Salad dressing tastes store bought.) This location is much better than the nearby location in Port Charlotte. This is one of our new favorite restaurants in the area. Tonight was a bit of a disappointment. The food was good but the service was not as good as expected. We always sit in the bar area if possible as we did tonight. The bartender was overwhelmed and needed help. I cleared off my own table. Also six tables opposite the bar all emptied out at about the same time and eventually the tables were cleared. But you know what, none of the tables were cleaned and soon people started sitting down at them- still with no cleaning involved. I wish they would take some pride in the place. I believe they need some training. I did speak to the manager before before I left about my concerns. I also called him when I got home because we went to watch some March Madness but Pete did not put the games on as we requested. When we got home one of the games was tied. Disappointed in bocca lupo tonight. We don't plan to stop coming here but hope for better service in the future. read more

Very busy during season. We arrived at 4:30 and there was a little wait; 10 minutes or less. Well worth it! I suggest trying several different appetizers....the garlic knots are amazing, and the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls are a favorite. Bocca Lupo is pretty good when it comes to their pizza, which I order to go quite often. Their white pizza is my personal favorite of the options they have. It's very convenient to have a take-out window that you can walk right up to without having to go inside. My in restaurant experiences have been a little different. The items I've tried that are on the menu that aren't pizza missed the mark for me. Cheese raviolis were just okay as were their wings. Nothing to rave about, kind of bland. Very disappointed in their garlic rolls...ALL butter (literally when you picked a roll up it dripped butter everywhere), a small sprinkle of garlic. Quite honestly I can't even call it a garlic roll. Not a restaurant to go to if you're looking for a quieter atmosphere. It's extremely loud, especially at the bar area where people are watching sports on the TVs. Staff is usually very attentive and nice, so no complaints there. I'll stick with ordering my pizzas for take-out as I just wasn't fully impressed with their other dishes. Solid 3/5 for overall experience. Pizza alone is a 5/5. read more

The only reason I gave 2 stars was I used to go here all the time I would drive 15 minutes over getting delivery but the last 2 times have been disappointing. The first time I let it go but this time they burnt both orders of wings (I included pictures) can't even & the antipasto salad I ordered is the worst antipasto salad has only 4 pieces of pepperoni, some cauliflower, a couple pieces of cheese, cooked carrots and what looks to be cooked celery. Best damn pizza place around but try the wings! They don't deep fry them and then give you a ration of sauce in a plastic box! They actually cook them in sauce like I do at home. So good. Their antipasto used to better but it's still pretty good. Their pizza dough and sauce are the best! read more

If you want rude service and grey chicken on your salad to pair perfectly with the rotten tomatoes than this is the place for you. The servers will gladly charge you for things that you are not given and happily get aggravated with you when they have to ask their manager for assistance overcoming their own incompetence. Waited in line for more than two hours to vote. Last night was too tired to go home and cook ordered a pizza. Didn't bother to look at it. Wanted to keep it nice and hot when we picked it up. Got home open the box as you can see, looks as if it caught on fire underneath the pizza is completely black over there to the left where it's burnt crisp was literally like charcoal. We had the best wait staff, Emily...she made our evening even more enjoyable. She was perfectly attentive to our needs, anticipated our needs and served us with joy and laughter! Bocca Lupo pizza is the best in North Port. Their wings are exceptional with a wide variety of sauces. The "small" greek salad is large enough for 2! A variety of beer brews. Good atmosphere. They could use live music on the patio. Service however, is mediocre, a lot of new faces since Covid which is to be expected. If you order by phone, you will occasionally have to wait for an answer, be put on hold as they appear to be short on staff (perhaps). The place is very popular, so much so that residents and snow birds will frequent often. Overall worth the trip. read more

They said their "promise time was 30 minutes after we ordered" There are 4 tables with 3-5 people. And 6 people at the bar. Place is ridiculously slow. Pizza was tasty but somewhere in the process of making the pizza, the tomato sauce and / or cheese is not uniformly or evenly placed on the dough resulting in some slices looking like white pizza. Also the heat doesn't cook the crust evenly so some slices look and feel under cooked while other slices have a toasted crust. We Ordered wings,pizza and a beer.Drinks came out first.Than the wings what my husband ordered and my order of wings came out 10 minuets later.That was kind of annoying,because we have very different taste that is why we ordered different types of wings.Because my order came out so much later we couldn't eat together....what is a huge NO,NO when we go out to have lunch together! Overall the wings were made as we ordered and even the "House" wing sauce was delicious-not overwhelmingly acidic,very flavorful.My husband ordered the mild wings and I ordered the mango habanero.The mango habanero wings were ok,the sauce felt like jam overpoweringly sweet.Both orders had a good crisp and the chicken had no after taste. Pizza was good too! So I would rate the food 4 star and the service 3. We might be back somedays. Should of yelped it before we ordered last night, that being said we didn't try the wings which seem to be the thing to get but pizza was average very dry didn't seem to have any sauce on not sure if they sprinkle it with garlic powder but it tasted like it. We ate two slices between my wife and I from a large or 18" and the rest was thrown out. Just no. Run away. Not uncommon to wait 90-120 minutes for a pizza. But do they tell you that when you call? No. They'll tell you an hour then when you show up they take your money and tell you a few more minutes. But it's not a few more minutes. It's another hour. This isn't a one time thing. Literally any night drive by and look outside their pickup window. It's insane. There is no pizza that's worth a 2 hour wait. The PC location is the exact same way. Once waited 3 HOURS for a pizza. Follow up to the recent review. I've been going here since I moved to Port Charlotte four year ago. I was struggling to find a decent pizza restaurant and a friend recommended Bocca Luca. Originally, we could ask that the crust be made very thin. The sauce and toppings were (are) fantastic. They changed their policy and would not create a very thin pizza crust and it seems the crust is getting thicker and thicker. Thin crust is my personal preference and maybe they aren't getting enough requests from customers for it. I got a pizza last night and the crust was thicker than ever. It seems to me that a thin crust is easy to make...just stretch it more (that's what I do at home). Anyway, I'll just have to keep looking for a place that makes pizza that suits my taste. They do make a nice pie, and it seems some choices in crust thickness is an easy option to offer. read more

Pizza here is normally very good. Today(Tuesday Evening) I ordered a large pizza to pick up. When I picked it up I opened the box to make sure there was a pizza in it, it felt empty. The pizza was as thin as paper, hardly any sauce on it, and the Mushrooms and Sausage I ordered was scarce. The pizza was an oblong shape, very weird. Some spots the crust was 4" wide, other spots it was 1" wide. Because of the shape of the pizza it was sliced very odd also. Giant slices and tiny slices. To me it appears this was someone who just made there first pizza and didn't do a good job. Maybe someone should have checked it after it was made. $26 for a large pizza, it should be good quality. Like I said, food here is usually very good and one of the better places around for pizza. Did we get a rookie pizza maker or was there a different issue.
