I didn't realize this place was located in the building it is in. I had seen the sign before but didn't connect the dots. Inside the restaurant is cozy and dimly lit giving the feel of an upscale dining establishment with an old world feel. The food was super and the service was really good. They have a great special for those with birthdays. We had a terrific time.

    Great meal. Pictures of drinks.

Outstanding food and service!!! Lemon cello martini and Godiva chocolate cocktail - both outstanding. Ceasar salads - yummy. Curry pasta dish w chicken- creamy sauce- very nice Veal saltambooca - delicious. Ham was better than average prosciutto. Served with potatoes. Nice combo. Owner super friendly. Sat w us for a few minutes. Checked w us several times to see if we were ok w it. He made the experience special and fun. We will defy e back and recommend it. Not easy to find but worth the adventure. Get a resi!

I've heard amazing things about this place so I was excited to give it a try. The building is kinda hidden and out of the way which is nice and parking was easy. The inside is small and intimate and while we sat down in an empty section, within minutes it was full of people and became very loud and it was hard to hear the people I was eating with. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and knew when to check in and when to leave us alone. We started off with the bruschetta which is just three pieces of bread topped with a pesto like sauce, tomato and mozzarella. It was okay, but for the price tag I was expecting more than 3 on the plate. I order a side Caesar as none of the entrees come with salads and it was very delicious and a good portion size for the price. For the main dish I got the capellini del sud and while us was good, it wasn't anything special. Angel hair pasta in a light sauce with minimal artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. I see myself coming back with friends for a special occasion, but not just to because I'm craving it.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Chattanooga. Boccaccia offers the most authentic Italian food you can find in Chattanooga, and delivers it in a quite, intimate setting with exceptional service. I have celebrated birthdays here (both for myself and others) and have had a great experience each time. Service: The service has always been attentive, helpful, and personable here. I do suggest making a reservation since they have operate under more European hours of operation and have limited seating. Food: The food speaks for itself in this quaint little spot located away from the main commercial areas of Downtown Chattanooga. Bruschetta: Light, fragrant, fresh. Tagliolini Bolognese: You cannot go wrong with this dish. When in doubt, go with the rustic and hearty flavor of the bolognese here. Ravioli Spinach e Formaggi: An impeccable offering for the vegetarian patron. The pasta is fresh and delicate with just the right amount of filling and coverage of delicious sauce. Gnocchi Arrabiatta: A wonderful take on gnocchi in a deliciously creamy sauce with a touch of heat. Involtini Val d'Aosta: The protagonist of the menu, hands down. A complexity of flavor on a single plate that will arouse the senses. The balsamic reduction has a robust yet delicate flavor profile which marries well with the depth of flavor in the chicken stuffed with prosciutto and fontina cheese. Paired with a fettucine alfredo that your nonna would approve of. Dover Sole: The absolute king on the menu. A tour de force of flavor and execution. Worth the price point. Wine and Cocktails: A generous offerings of wine and cocktails that has something for everyone. Atmosphere: An intimate setting that lends itself to smaller parties of two to six. Lovely for a date night. Parking is not a problem as the location does not have to compete with high traffic counterparts. I highly recommend this dining experience. It is worth the pretty penny it'll cost.

A very intimate dining experience. Anna was our server and she was so engaging. She gave us her recommendations and they were fantastic. We started with the fried Calamari which was tender and delicious. Nothing greasy or overly chewy. I had the bolognese which I adored , my husband had the chicken parmigiana that came with a side of pasta. The chicken had a very nice crisp to it. Good sized portions at good prices. But here's something that's fantastic: on your birthday you receive a complimentary entree and a piece of chocolate cake, incredible! I've read reviews that say this is a great place for special occasions, and it is , but don't just come here for those. This restaurant should be enjoyed anytime. They have a very nice wine selection and the service is unbeatable. Good parking right outside the door. Make reservations!

Holy moly! I have been dreaming of this gnocchi every since I had it a few weeks ago. I went for a a friend's birthday dinner and had such a great time! The service was kind, friendly, and tentative. Boccaccia is such a gem and such a romantic, intimate environment. Check it out next time you want to be transported to a dreamy Italian destination

If you would like to try or add a little Italian to your life, I would suggest Boccaccia Ristorante. This place, based on its ambiance, it is perfect for that romantic dinner. The setting is very welcoming. When you walk in, you get the feeling of Little Italy, walking back in time to 40 or 50 years ago, maybe Chicago [for your that have been will understand]. Throughout my travels, I can remember some of the classic Italian restaurants I have been and this restaurant reminded me of and brought back fond memories. You get the feeling that the food served is authentic. Prior to our arrival, I had called not realizing they close at 8pm. I called about 7:30pm seeking to get more information about the restaurant and their hours. To my amazement, the person that responded to my phone call invited us to come have dinner even though I was 20 minutes away from the restaurant. When we got there, most people were leaving. It felt nice having the space to ourselves. Our waiter came to serve us and we never felt rushed. We started off with appetizers. We had the Bruschetta. As you can see in my photo, this appetizer consists of buffalo mozzarella and roasted tomatoes topped with basil and olive oil served over grilled bread. It was delicious!!! For our drinks, we wanted to try something new. We ordered Zevia which is a non-alcoholic drink that comes in a can. To be honest, this drink tasted like diet or watered-down cola. I was not a big fan. When our food was ready, they were served in a timely manner, hot and excellent. In their Secondi section in the menu, I ordered "Pollo Parmigiana." - Classic chicken parmesan with a side of penne pasta in a spicy tomato sauce. This was delicious! It was well seasoned and filling. I under estimated the portion served. For dessert, we felt bold and requested our server to surprise us. She did not disappoint at all! She brought us "Tiramisu" for dessert. To sum what this dessert is, its coffee-flavored Italian dessert. Fun Fact: Tiramisu means - "Pick me up" in Italian. One last thing I do want to bring anyone reading this and is searching where to eat, if you're not familiar with the area, it can be difficult to find the restaurant. Your GPS will tell you that you are there, but all you will see are two white houses. You have to go between those houses around to the back to the old Chattanooga Saddlery Building where you will find Boccaccia.

chicken Parm with an upgrade pasta (Orecchiette con Salsiccia alla Piemontese)
    Nicole C.

This restaurant was great with just one hiccup (but they fixed it) I gave it a 4 because the chicken Parm honestly was not good at all. It was pounded out too much, it was about 3 ounces and overcooked I sent it back. Our waitress Morgan was awesome about it she sent me out a half order of Cappellini del Sud (I added shrimp) it was delicious!!! Even though my Chicken Parm was not great, i had upgraded the pasta (Orecchiette con Salsiccia alla Piemontese) IT WAS FANTASTIC!! The flavor BOOMED! My husband ordered shrimp fried Diablo with angel hair! It was GREAT! I would recommend Highly but they do need to change the chicken Parmesan for sure (I'm ITALIAN!) I want a fresh breaded BIG CHICKEN breast covered in sauce & cheese

Theirs is always excellent! We had a pitcher of cider sangrias and Cesar salads as well. Everything tasted amazing. So why four stars? Two reasons.... First, two pieces of plastic in my carbonara. I did not say anything due to the second reason. Server didn't seem to be too keen on giving us top notch service. We have taken note that when we are a table of four, they always give us the rundown of the nightly specials. In. Great. Detail. Every time it is just the Husband and I? Nada. Nothing. Not even an introduction by the server this time. It's not the same server either. Happens with whomever we have. Seems to be something that they need to work on at this restaurant. We love this place! Watchman (our server) did a great job when it came to serving the food. But I should not have to ask about the specials nor ask for his name. We always tip more than expected, but when will servers learn that going above and beyond will get them above and beyond the expected tip? Hopefully something changes before our next visit to Chattanooga.

Showed up about 8:30 PM, had to wait for a table because the place was so incredibly dirty. The whole place looks "worn out"and little remains of its once elegant demeanor. The wait staff was young and more interested in horsing around with each other than taking care of diners. Paid $12 for 4 ounces of a very sour (!) Prosecco with a squirt of blackberry syrup at the bottom, but no straw to get to it. The fried raviolis were just cheese-filled and tasted of old oil. The salad contest consisted of whole leaves of iceberg lettuce, four slices of beets and six garbanzos. (This is for two people.) the salad dressing tasted of nothing but oil. The garlic rolls, for which I had raved to my wife, came out hard cold and stale. I ate a couple anyway thinking that the next batch would be fresh, but was told when I asked for more that they were "out." Since this was formerly a highlight of the Provino's experience this hit hard. My wife's entrée tasted burnt as as the only flavor and she refused to eat it. My eggplant Parmesan was cold inside and gelatinous, although the plate was warm. I suppose this Restaurant has suffered the same fate as Portofinos and the Acropolis; started by a family who is no longer involved and is now run by people who don't particularly care. Anyway there are other options for Italian in this town; heck, I would've done better going to Olive Garden. Won't be back - not ever.
