I just left this place (July 13, 2024) and it left me with many bad thoughts. When we first got there we were seated promptly which I was very appreciative of. Kudos to the hosting / greeting staff, the decor, and the lattes. That is all sadly that is where it ends. I am more than happy to leave this 1 star review. The issue: We were there for almost an over an hour and eventually deciding to cancel our order. We ordered (BLT, Papas, and Smoked and Fried Chicken Sandwich) As we sat there I watched 4 tables with a party of 4 get seated (2 tables outside and 2 tables inside). Then a couple sat at the bar. These tables and the couple sat after we got there. They all got their food. An hour of being seated there the BLT came out. At this point it was when we flagged our server to let her know. We have watched other tables get their food but a table of 2 still have not gotten all of our food. She did apologize to which we promptly stated do not apologize unless you specifically told the kitchen not to cook our food. I sadly will never return to this place. The climate in there seemed welcoming at first. Then we slowly realized this place is not suited for everyone, especially not us. read more

I heard so many good things about this place so I had to try it out. I went with a friend for Sunday Brunch and we received a warm greeting on a very busy Sunday morning. One table was available on their outdoor patio. We sat outside, however later decided it was a bit too chilly. The staff was very understanding when we requested to move inside to the bar. We ordered fried green tomatoes, the chicken sandwich and the fish sandwich. All the food was great, but the fish sandwich was amazing!!! Our mimosas were great as well. I had an extremely stressful experience making a reservation here. I called on a Friday and made a reservation for my party of 20 and left it under my last name. We had an event going on and we had family coming in and needed a nice place to celebrate afterwards. They said, "We can easily do that, we have no other reservations and we will seat you at the front two tables." The date of our event arrives and we have people heading to the restaurant. They inform us over the phone while everyone is on the way that they do not have our reservation, they do not even take reservations and they cannot seat us in any capacity. So now we are scrambling to find another way to feed our guests and overall this is incredibly disappointing. This has put such a bad taste in my mouth for Bodega which is really unfortunate since the other time I had eaten here was decently good but lackluster service that time as well. read more

First visit here I tried the Jamón Croissant, it's a fancy ham & egg sandwich with aioli. The sandwich was good, not 7.50 good. I'm hoping my server was having a bad day because she was terrible. Not once did she return to our table to refill our coffee. We asked for jelly and more aioli she didn't bring them. The manager was the one who brought the extras and we had to ask the manager to bring us our check. Our server was so terrible I gave her over a 20% tip because I didn't want her to have an excuse for not giving us proper service. The area the have transformed for outdoor dining is very nice and the tables are far apart for safety. The dog who escapes from inside the restaurant is awesome also. read more

Today was my first visit to Bodega Ultima but I went on the strong recommendation from a trusted friend. Currently there is only outside seating available but the patio is adorable and I love the relaxed vibe of Surrey Center. **(You can still pop inside to use the facilities.) If you've been to Europe or had a legit European style espresso drink (and loved it!) you probably realize it's hard to find a place around that can make them and make them well. Look no further! I went for a Café Macchiato. The server even checked to make sure I knew what I was ordering and when I confirmed I wanted it traditional Euro she said something along the lines of, "We got you." At least that's what I heard! The espresso drink delivered to me was a visual delight and absolute espresso-perfection. I plan to go back for a sandwich one day soon but I haven't decided whether to try the breakfast or lunch menu first! They both look mouth-watering. read more

Okay so this recommended for brunch. On the board behind the bar said it was bottomless for $20 but it's actually $30. Which I didn't mind the change in price. What I mind is that for me to spend $40 plus on my brunch you can't be serving it on a paper plate and plastic utensils. When I tell you I was in disbelief when I saw it I literally thought the bar was joking and I could request for an actual plate. Nope she said they don't even have plates or actual utensils. So the food I give 1.5 stars. Bottomless mimosa 3 stars you could get it cheaper somewhere else. As for the space itself which I liked I will say 3 stars as well. read more

Great place to sit a spell...I came here for brunch for my birthday and though it was cold outside, there were no seatings inside and I've been wanting to come here for some time now. I ordered my fav Locks with Bagels which were all I imagined! The place was busy and crowded so I dealt with and understood the flow of service however, not all the heaters worked outside soooo....yeah. This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Augusta! The vibes are really good and it has a nice outdoor area you can enjoy- even bring your dog! My only complaint is that on a few occasions the food hasn't been the best. But the atmosphere is more what I go for anyways. read more

Once entering we were prompted to seat ourselves but then told we couldn't sit at the table we wanted to sit on so we had to opt for a high top, which wants to the safest choice given that we had a little child with us. This place is not necessarily kid friendly. They do not have a kids menu (that's fine) but also not even a crayon or piece of paper. We asked for a a napkin and pen but nothing came. Our servers changed three times. The first one took our order. Then a different one brought our food and a third to bring the bill. When placing our drink order my coffee wasn't brought out until I had my food. My drip coffee maker at home makes better tasting coffee. Coffee was acidic and cold!! (and zero refills...not even of water, which I am sure should have happened but yea, servers were busy with swapping out and lost oversight.) The food was mediocre at best. As many others mentioned, I found it odd how many dogs there were just roaming around inside and under our table waiting for my child to drop food (who was amused). If you are looking to have great breakfast and coffee, do not come here. It is too salty, too sweet (way to sweet), too cold, and no servers having time to pay attention to you.. I wasn't throughly impressed with the food. I got the lox bagel. It was served deconstructed, with the salmon being over salted especially with the capers. The best part about the bagel was the cream cheese. I would give this place another chance because everyone else in my party got something different that looked way more appetizing. Great hidden gem in Augusta and not downtown. It has a community vibe, exceptionally friendly people and atmosphere that makes you feel right at home whether you are picking up to go, dining solo or with a group. Their hours end at 3pm so make sure you check them out for breaks-lunch. Also, Fun fact, they have a wine club if you are interested. The food is unique and diverse for our area. Let me start by saying that my Americano was better than any franchise store! The Bodega Ultima was a most pleasant discovery! I decided to give it a try after visiting there website and they did not disappoint. This is a place that allows us southerners to enjoy the Bodega experience we've certainly all heard about. Even on my first visit the employees were friendly; she came from around the counter to greet me and take my order. I waited at the bar and heard the interaction with all of the customers who were clearly regulars. The employees knew the guest and their dogs' name. Another highlight; the shrimp and grits does not have pork or beef and was absolutely delicious. It was tomato base with Mediterranean influence and nicely flavored, but not over seasoned. The outside seating was perfect to enjoy the weather and I look forward to trying it in my next visit. read more

My husband and I stopped in on a Wednesday morning at about 10am. Looked like we'd missed the rush as the place was pretty empty. We sat on the patio and were greeted promptly with waters. I ordered a lavender latte and my husband ordered the drip coffee. He reported that the drip coffee was pretty good however, I wouldn't call my latte lavender, it tasted like a regular latte but no big deal. I ordered the salmon blt and my husband had the lox plate. My food was ok but I was turned off my the paper plates and plastic cutlery used. My husbands lox was pretty bad, some of the worst salmon he'd had. My husband is an easy going guy and even when things aren't great he still tries so make the best of it. He had me taste the salmon to make sure he wasn't overreacting but he wasn't. The salmon had a really fishy tastebthat lingered as if it were well past it's prime. When brought to the serves attention she was very apologetic and brought out another portion. Unfortunately the replacement salmon was just as bad as the original. Lastly, the restaurant is extremely dog friendly which is great for dog owners, not so great for a couple just wishing to enjoy a quiet breakfast together. The store dog lingered at our table once our food came out and just well sat there. It was weird. I didn't love that the dog had the run of the place and no consideration was given to diners who didn't necessarily want a dog sitting at their feet the entire meal. I absolutely under no circumstances would return. Not my vibe in the food or atmosphere department. read more

Gonna keep it short and sweet. Been here to eat twice in the last few months, and I will keep going back. Quality is great. The fried chicken items are fantastic, and not just normal run of the mill fried chicken - there's a little je ne sais quois to it- at least for Augusta. Everything else we've tried is great too, but please make sure to try the Papas - lovely potato bites. I'm bougie, and this place fulfills that need, while not being pretentious. The ambiance at Bodega Ultima is down to earth, and easy going. Not to mention they carry the luxury Bellocq tea, which I first discovered in Brooklyn, and which hails from London. And finally, the wine bottle selection is always FANTASTIC - think boutique wines, that you're not going to find at ANY other shop in Augusta. I am always looking for a good breakfast place. After reading the reviews I was excited to give this place a shot. I got the Jamon croissant and a banana muffin. The croissant was just ok and the muffin was very nutty. I actually thought I got the wrong muffin because I couldn't taste the banana, and there were green flecks in it. Apparently they make their banana muffins with zucchini. I was not a fan. All in all, I thought the menu was limited, it was pricey, and the food was so so. read more

I've had the ham croissant twice and the Cuban sandwich which was very good. My dining companions have had the soft shell crab sandwich and the red fish sandwich. I've come here to study multiple times around lunch and am always really pleased with the service and the food. I think it is appropriately priced for what you get and really delicious, and the service is always just the right amount of checking in on me without coming up to me so many times to the point where I'm distracted by my work. It's like they can tell I'm focusing on something, but they still wanna make sure I'm taken care of.. and that's something I really appreciate about this place- even if it's something kind of small in the grand scheme of things! I recently came back to Augusta for a few weeks after living in Savannah and found this gem! I loved the rustic appearance and the spacious outdoor sitting. This is a great place for putting in some study/work time while enjoying good coffee and a delicious food. Also a great place for a nice brunch or luncheon with friends. (They have a full bar so don't forget your vino or mimosa!) I ended up getting the basque sandwich on their breakfast menu after having biggest debate about whether to wait for their lunch menu to be served. My friend did wait and got the kale salad off their lunch menu. I highly recommend both! Her kale salad was large enough to last almost two meals. - Greek whole grain toast: Loved this combo! I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was! - The Basque: Filling enough for a brunch and delicious! The chorizo was amazing. - Bagel & cream cheese: I'm a fan of the garlic taste but if you're not, be warned that the herb cream cheese has a very strong garlic flavor. - Lox: They give you the lox, cream cheese, capers, onions, etc to build your own lox bagel. - Smoked salmon BLT: So good! I love this place as is not only dog friendly but the food was so good. Group of 6 on a Saturday for lunch. Place recommended to us by a local. Service was friendly. Food was very tasty but it took longer than expected when a place is not completely packed. Our last order never came to the table and we ended up leaving without it.
