Was such a breath of fresh air (literally and figuratively) not having to wear a mask walking in and getting your wine. Always a fun place to go and the food is great. I hadn't ever been there before so I asked the guy at the register if we seat our selves or wait. He was very condescending in the way he answered me and repeated himself just in case I missed it the first time. So we found a table and waited and waited and waited. This was our first time in this restaurant. We have been to all others at the Village in Meridian and wanted to try this place. Admittedly, we had high expectations as we do with every time we decide to spend money going out to eat. We arrived late afternoon on Sunday. We found a table when we arrived and sat down. Service was quick. However, we were immediately approached with items they were out of. She told us in the first seconds that they were out of 2 items. I was put off as this is simply poor management to allow a restaurant to run out of product. This could be a precursor to other poor management with this restaurant. We soon picked out items to order when the server then informed us they were out of mozzarella sticks. So now this is 3 items on their menu that they do not have. With a total of maybe 20 menu items, this is 15 percent that they do not have! We came extremely close to leaving at that point but we decided to stay as we had wine. The server could care less. She was so used to being out of items, she went through the spiel like she knew exactly what to say. There was no excuse given for being out of these items. As a side note, being out of product reduces sales. We wanted one item as an appetizer and we ended up not ordering anything as they were out of what we wanted. The food arrived and were extremely small portions. Barely 2 ounces of chicken with the pasta. The food was good overall, just very small. That also makes them overpriced. I think the pasta with chicken was about $15. Generally not bad, but with small portions, it is a little expensive. Also, important to note that the menu online for this location is completely different from the menu in the restaurant. This is important to us as we use online menus to determine if we want to eat at a particular restaurant. There are many choices to dine out. This place does not do a great job overall. I have noticed with other reviews that there is a manager that will respond to great comments but does not provide any response to poor reviews. Another sign of poor management. Improvement to your operation is the ONLY way you will survive. read more

My friends and I wanted to try the Meridian Bodovino laocation, We had dinner at Grimaldi's (which is excellent !!), and headed over to Bodovino for some wine. As we entered there was no direction, or person to tell us to seat ourselves, or wait. We looked around, no one to direct us, so we found a table and sat down. Again, we were not sure if now we needed to go to the bar to get our drink order in, or if someone would wait on us. I went to the bar, and bartender said she would come over. She dropped off a couple of menus, with no instruction, or conversation. we all picked out our selection (glass), and waited. Finally drinks were ordered. Then 2 of the wines we selected were empty on the auto dispenser (Which was weird that that was the only way for them to get our selections...It is a wine bar right? So after a lengthy wait we got our wine. The pours were very small, and the wine was really cold (we were drinking red). For $12.00 a glass for a pretty common Sonoma County Cab, I'm not impressed. So fair to say, we won't be back. read more

We had the great pleasure of dining at Bodovino Ristorante today. We were walking through the Village at Meridian looking for a restaurant and was very happy we found Bodovino. When we arrived we felt lucky that there was a table open. It's located in the courtyard area situated next to the The Fountains at the Village. It's enclosed in walls of glass so you can see everything that is going on in the courtyard which was nice. Just outside the entrance there is lounge seating around a fireplace to enjoy after you wine and dine. We were greeted quickly and seated, and Britt was our server and he was great. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. For starters we enjoyed the Spicy Sambal Brussels and the Calamari. The Brussel Sprouts were very good - cooked perfectly and hints of bacon. The Calamari had a light crusted batter coating that was crispy over a very tender and delicious calamari rings & tentacles and a light aioli dipping sauce. For our entrees we had the Shrimp Scampi and the Lasagna. The Shrimp Scampi had nice sized shrimp bedded over a very perfectly cooked al dente linguini doused with a delicious garlic butter sauce making the meal light and not greasy. The lasagna was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth with the flavors of the sauce and different types of meat with several layers filled with ricotta cheese. There was so much on the menu that this place screams to come back and try their other entrees. Dining here was near to an experience. The reason for that is you can purchase a Bodovino Supercard and serve yourself to a large selection of wines. Britt loaded up our card and was great to walk around with us and told us how it works and about some of the wines we were interested in trying. When you find what you like simply choose from three different pours tasting pour, 3 oz or a very generous pour. We tried the La Terre Chardonnay, Vale Chardonnay, Raeburn Chardonnay, and the Albe Barolo all were very good. So it was like a wine tasting experience. They have a full bar and we tried the Espresso Martini - which was very good - but I would recommend to have it as a dessert and not before the meal. We have a balance on our Bodovino card so we will be back for sure. read more

Pros: Sunday (when we were there) All day Happy Hour! Staff was very nice. Great location and ambiance at The Village. Food was good, we had mini mozzarella bites, lasagna roll and The Idaho flatbread. Cons: Not sure if we seated ourselves or needed to wait, staff walked by us and didn't offer assistance. I ordered a Sangria - it took a very very long time to get. (my husband was already on his 2nd mimosa by the time I got my drink) Ordered another and took just as long :( Needs more menu and small plate options! Came with some friends as an extension to my birthday celebration in Idaho. Chase, our server, made the Sunday brunch special with his attentiveness. Enjoyed the bottomless mimosas with choice of juice and berries to add. Chocolate too always a plus. Husband enjoyed the self-service wine bar. We ordered a Flatbread and Salad to share. Football in the background. Great time. In the summer, the patio with heaters would be lovely to take in all the activity of The Village. Glass sliding doors do help the atmosphere to feel like the outdoors in inclusive. read more

I've been to Bodovino a few times now and although I've never taken advantage of the "wine on tap" I love the concept! It allows wine tasters to sample & try new things without committing to a whole bottle. The building is awesome; glass walls (perfect for fountain & people watching :) ) and kind of a dark, romantic, hip atmosphere. And if you're not a fan of wine, they also have a full bar! My boyfriend & I stopped in on a Saturday night for after dinner drinks. Of course it was busy, and we had to grab a busboy to order because we were waiting ten minutes without anyone even stopping by. I understand though - it was a later Saturday night. So we ordered a bottle of red and shortly after ordering, our waiter came by to say that the bottle we chose was out of stock, so he brought out a bottle that was similar in taste, but higher quality and $16 more than the one we ordered. Without us even asking he said he will price match the bottle since it was their error for being out of stock. So nice! Wine was delicious as always. I haven't tried the food at Bodovino yet, but the couple next to us got the ribeye and it looked (and smelled) spectacular. Service was knowledgable, very friendly & pretty prompt! Tonight was a first. For the first time since moving to the Treasure Valley almost five years ago I experienced the worst customer service in a restaurant in my entire life. And I have lived in many states and enjoyed some of the best wines and food in the finest restaurants from California to New York. My boyfriend and I visited Bodovino at the Village in Meridian earlier today (June 23, 2017) and encountered the rudest employee imaginable. I was trying a California Chardonnay when the apparatus they use to pour ran out of the wine that I was sampling. I alerted an employee who indicated he would look at it. After a considerable amount of time with no assistance I again requested some help. This time I talked to Thayne. I attempted to explain to him that I felt my Bodovino wine card was charged for a entire wine pour but Thayne abruptly cut me off. Rather than offer an explanation he chose to argue with me and refused to serve me. He then approached our table and accused me of disrespecting him. I guess the customer doesn't come first in his world. I have been going to Bodovino since they opened and my boyfriend was one of the first customers at the downtown Boise location. We even participated in their 2016 New Year's Eve party. He gave me $100 Bodovino card as a gift because he knew how much I enjoyed this place. The previous manager, Amy, and former employee Kayla as well as Channing have been the greatest. I consider them friends. I should also mention that a very good wine, Dunham Cellars, from Walla Walla, WA is being stored and served in an extremely warm environment. Such a shame. If I were a Dunham representative I would be very concerned. But tonight was our last visit and I encourage all my friends to do the same. There is absolutely no reason to visit an establishment that disrespects their customers and witnessed by other patrons in the restaurant. As a professional Pharmacist I have spent an entire career working with people. In fact, I would argue that my clients are the most vulnerable. Many times they are sick, depressed and just want to feel good. I always did my best to treat them with the upmost respect and dignity they deserve. I wanted nothing more than to make them feel better and give them the individual attention they so deserved. If I treated a client like I was treated tonight by Thayne, I would have been disciplined on the spot and maybe even fired. When the the current manager, Dan, tried to diffuse the situation all I was asking for was an apology. Since it was clear that Thayne was not going to say he was sorry we closed out. As we were leaving he again chose to get into an escalated verbal exchange and threatened to call mall security. Unbelievable! If you want a truly memorable wine tasting environment I recommend you spend your time and money at Telaya Winery, Coiled Wines, Tastings in southeast Boise or Capital Cellars in downtown Boise. There's also a great place called Divine Wine, Cork & Fork in downtown Meridian. Anywhere but Bodovino. read more

ARANCINI BALLS!!! That's what I want to start with. These are fried balls filled with risotto and served on delicious marinara. I can not express my love for these enough. It is the perfect flavor combo. They are only $7 and you get two decent sized balls. The meatballs are also delicious. What I really love is that they fry their apps in a canola/cottonseed oil blend. I'm a foodie with a soy allergy. Most places use the soy vegetable oil because it's cheap and convenient. This makes it so hard for me to have anything. Bodovino is the one place I can go to and have delicious treats without having to worry about soy products. And the flavors here- oh the flavors. On top of delicious food- they have a great happy hour with wine selection. You can get a tasting for a $1.00 and up at the happy hour prices. This place is a must visit! read more

Yikes. I almost wish I could give this place a zero star rating. I lived in Italy for four years and this is NOT Italian food!! I took my mom on a date to The Village for a movie, some shopping, and lunch. Bodovino looked like such a cute little place to sit down and have lunch in front of the fountain in the outside air but boy was I WRONG! First off, the menu was confusing at best, in the "pasta" section it literally said "all pasta served on spaghetti" ... um spaghetti is a pasta ... That was my first red flag that these people have no idea what Italian food is. We ordered a caprese salad for a starter and was a little weirded out when it wasn't in slices like I'm used too but decided to roll with it until I realized it had bean sprouts instead of basal ... like what?? The bean sprouts were impossible to chew and gave the salad a very weird and off-putting taste. I ended up ordering the ravioli and my mom got the soup, salad, and bread. The ravioli came SUBMERGED in olive oil! It was like swimming in a Olympic sized pool of it. WHAT?! I had to shake off my ravioli and transfer it to another plate where it made its own pool of olive oil. Further disappointment, the pasta was over cooked and far from al dente. Not sure how the filling tasted because all I could tase was olive oil and garlic. My mom's minestrone soup had kale in it ... okay ... and she said she kept tasting something very very bitter that left her mouth dry. Her bread was so stale that even soaking it in the bathtub that was my ravioli couldn't save it. Needless to say we will never be going back there, so disappointed I took my mom here when there are so many fabulous restaurants in Boise! read more

Love this place! Where else can you taste bottles of wine that are $100 or more a bottle but only paying for a few ounces so you can try them all. The downtown one has considerably more wine options but the one in meridian has better food in my option. The staff was amazingly nice, cracking jokes and making sure everyone had a good time. We stopped in after lunch for a glass of wine and sat on the patio. A waitress came out and gave menus to the next table but didn't acknowledge us. We sat for a several minutes and she didn't come back for either table for service or to take the order. My wife decided to go in and order from the bar. She tried to get the bartenders attention but he was busy chatting with the waitress and decided to just leave. She came out to get me to go but I decided to go back in and let them know why we were leaving. I stood at the bar for a few minutes and couldn't get the attention of either of the employees consumed in conversation. This place is perfect for the village. Had a couple glasses of wine and some appetizers before a movie. Perfect. Can sit inside or outside. The appetizers were excellent. The wine selection was pretty good. A little expensive but like the taster option. Definitely will be going there again. Service was good place was very clean. Wow! This place has gone down the tubes. I will not be back....ever. They've gone from good prices with a large amount of great food to the same price, with only 1/3 the serving size and crappy food. I paid $5 per slice of duck that was tough and supposed to be served on a "bed" of kale; I had 4 small leaves. And...and...add insult to injury they serve cheap, crappy wine on average. Their "featured passport wines" are sour, dry and rotten. I've been a wine buyer for 20 years and this stuff is poor quality. I don't know how they choose their wines but maybe they should reconsider it. Not good anymore. Don't go! read more

Loved my experience! I have a Boise Brew Card and saw I had coupons for this place and decided to give it a shot. I've been wanting to try it out and was surprised with how much I loved it. The idea is great. You get to load money on a card and walk around and taste different wines. It was a new spin on wine tasting, which I loved. You do everything yourself which would be a really fun date because you don't exactly have to interact with a bartender unless you have questions. The girl who helped us was new but she was so sweet and answered all of our questions. I'm excited to go back! read more

The good: Bodovino in the Village has great ambiance. The wine tasting is always fun. The bad: Service. On the night we were there (party of 6, eating food) each employee I had an encounter with made me feel l was putting them out by even being there. The server seemed flustered and sarcastic. He had a miscommunication about the payment, which ended up costing a friend more money. He was defensive and snarky, even when my friend was gracious and laughed it off. Something is off about this place. The guy behind the bar was rude and didn't follow through. I had to get my own silverware off another table. Also, I hate to say it but the food was not great. We ordered a variety of salads and starters. The selection was poor and the food mediocre. I spent a lot of money that night and I don't think I'll be back. It's too bad because the Village needs a place like Bodovino (if only they would have excellent service and a food concept similar to downtown). read more

Where do I start. Made reservation for my birthday party for 10 on Tuesday. When I arrived with 2 of my guest and was directed to my table only to discover they gave my reservation to someone else. Upset and very embarrassed that my friends are standing there looking at me with cupcakes and party favors in hand and no table to sit at. No one apologized and offered to comp wine, food etc. They pulled cold wet patio furniture from outside, wiped them down and called it good. The wait staff did not apologize, no one even said Happy Birthday to me and you could clearly see it was a party. My guest had to ask for the wine they ordered twice before they finally got it. Could have been a great venue however guest hospitality is lacking greatly. Would not recommend this venue for large group. They certainly do not know how to take care of their guests. read more

Food was mediocre but my biggest problem was lack of sanitation. boh wasn't wearing masks and neither was staff. I saw them seat someone at a table that hasn't be cleaned down.
