My wife, Dad, and I had lunch here a couple of times and both visits have been superb. Delicious food! Friendly service! The ambiance makes you feel at home. Father's Day lunch was yummy! We started with a complimentary lentil soup. I don't like lentil soup that much because of the seeds, but they have the purée type soup which I love. I heart lamb so I had the grilled lamb chops. Char broil grilled deliciousness! Four pieces of flavorful chops with salad and rice. The best I've had - flavorful, tender, and juicy! You'll love this dish even if you're not a lamb fan. It also came with complimentary pita bread. I also had a couple of bites of their Lamb Saute and Grilled Chicken Kebab. Both were very good. You can't go wrong with any dishes on their menu. They also provide a complimentary Turkish tea to complete your meal. You had to roll me out of there because I'm so full. I went there today and was given a difficult time about having my service animal with me. I cannot support a business that does not follow the law and discriminates against people with disabilites. The baklava was delicious. The falafel was good but really should have came with a side dip of tzatziki- it had some white stuff on top but it was minimal and didn't really taste as I thought it would, so I'm not sure if it normally comes with a side and they just forgot? I finally had a chance to catch up with my great friend and fellow Elite Yelper Vanessa T. this evening, with a much anticipated dinner at Bodrum Mediterranean Kitchen. I must profess that I'm a relative newbie when it comes to Mediterranean fare, but luckily Vanessa is an accomplished professional in this category, so thankfully she was there to save the day. The dining room left a lasting impression on us, and in a very good way. It was evident that the owners painstakingly made every effort to raise the bar and set their eatery apart from other Mediterranean establishments. The aura was so serene and tranquil, that I wouldn't have been surprised if there was an attached day spa. I would have taken more pics of the dining area, but I didn't want to go all "paparazzi" on the other patrons. In times such as these, where the chaos and hardship of the Covid pandemic is seemingly never-ending, Bodrum brings a much needed intermission, and it's greatly appreciated. We each ordered dishes to share, as we always do, and goes as follows: Appetizer Sampler: Hummus with Pita Bread, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Falafel, Sautéed Eggplant I thoroughly enjoyed the smooth, creamy texture of the Hummus, and paired exceptionally well with the fresh pita bread. It was my first time trying Stuffed Grape Leaves, and it must be an "acquired" taste, because...well...it wasn't for me. The rice and herbs on the inside were fine, but I think it was the sour notes from the lemon....juice?....oil?...sauce?....and the tinge of bitterness from the leaves that threw me off. At least I can say I tried it, though. Needless to say...Vanessa loved it. I'm not a fan of eggplant, so I passed on that offering, which was fine with my dining counterpart, because more for her. The Falafel was toothsome and flavorful with a perfectly crisp exterior, however, they were served lukewarm at best, so that took away from the experience. Spinach and Feta Pizza: Highly enjoyable flatbread pizza offering, reminiscent of my favorite white pizza, served with a side of Tzatziki sauce for dipping. Chicken Sauté: This dish was wholesome without being too hearty, and was easily enough for two meals. The flavors are likened to a Chicken Cacciatore (hope I spelled that right), and the zest of acidity from the sauce and seasonings really shined through. Lemoncello: Ooooh, this was good. Layers of soft, lemony sponge cake and light as air whipped cream? More, please. Kadayif: Although the satisfying crunch from the shredded wheat was somewhat missing, the flavors were spot-on, pistachios were plentiful, and the addition of vanilla ice cream had us going back for more. There WAS a few...unfortunate drawbacks to this otherwise extraordinary dining adventure. We were dine-in patrons, but were served our meals and drinks in to-go containers and cups...at our table. We ordered at the counter, because there is no signage at the entryway to indicate whether we seat ourselves, wait for a hostess to greet us, or anything of the sort. We brought this up to the gracious lady who serviced us at the counter, and while she profusely apologized and transferred our entrees onto plates, the heat of the dishes were somewhat lost during the transition. Mishaps aside, I would certainly come back and I recommend Bodrum Mediterranean Kitchen to one and all. We have driven past this place many times and decided to finally check it out.... The decor is super cute and the staff friendly. I like how there are cute cubby areas for some of the tables near the windows. The menu is not huge but there are a decent amount of options to pick from...unless you're vegan. The online menu showed a few things as vegan but as hubby ordered waitress said the lentil soup had butter and the falafel had egg. So he basically had to order the only option of sautéed veggies with double salad since the rice has butter also. Calling their side items "Salad"is a very liberal definitions. It's a pile of shredded iceberg, pile of shredded carrots and pile of shredded cabbage. No dressing no toppings. That isn't a salad. Each entree comes with soup and I got the chicken orzo. This place is a must GO! We live near the beaches and try to go to this place at least once a month. We always try to take different groups of family/friends to this place. Everyone loves it. The food is amazing and the service is great. Even with going once a month our regular server always remembers our drink order. Can't remember her name but is great. Food is . We have been getting carry out from Bodrum since before we moved to the area. Finally had the opportunity to dine in and loved it! Love the seating, tables are spaced nicely with some tables nicely secluded and private. Service was wonderful from start to finish, our drinks were always refilled, ordering was quick and easy with food coming out quickly. We started with the hummus duo. Enjoyed both and the soft pita was great, especially with the spicy hummus. Much more hummus than pita, would have loved some raw veggies to dip into the hummus too. Luckily, our platters had lots more pita to enjoy with the hummus. We both ordered the lamb gyro platters with also come with soup. The chicken orzo soup was perfect on this chilly night. By the time I got to my platter, I was almost full. Overflowing plate of gyro meat with a pile of pita, veggies and tzatziki. The rice on the platter was delicious, I normally am not a big fan of rice, but this rice was so flavorful. Boxed half my meal and will enjoy it again tomorrow! I've been having a hankering for Mediterranean food. I was in the downtown area, did a quick Yelp search and voila, Bodrum popped up. I put the address in my GPS and found this place nestled in a stripmall. I walked in and felt like I was transported to a small taverna. I spent a little time in Greece in college and remember the white and blue accents everywhere. I was immediately greeted by a kind gent who said I could be seated anywhere. The interior of this place screens Mediterranean. The floors are tiled in a blue and white faded tile, white and blue accents inside adorn the walls and the interior makes you feel like in you're in someone's home (in a good way). I was given the menu, looked it over and decided to get the lamb gyro and a diet Coke. The server quickly brought over my drink and then gave me a complimentary cup of soup. Which was rich and creamy and delicious. What a lovely touch. Then came out my gyro, stuffed to the gills with lamb, veggies and taziki sauce. The first bite required me to cut the pita. The pita was warm and soft, the taziki was thick and creamy, and the lamb was perfectly cooked. The fries were seasoned well and crisp. The server then asked if I wanted some tea, which I obliged. I'm not a huge tea fan, but I always find restaurants to do a far better job at making it than me. What came out was a work of art. The tea was in a beautiful glass cup, with an evil eye on it. The inside dining was empty so we had our pick of tables Our server Victoria was happy to give us her recommendations as well as answer all of our questions. We opted to start with the hummus trio. I had never had spinach hummus before and am happy to report it is yummy. The spicy and regular hummus were flavorful and quite marvelous with the soft warm pita triangles. They also offer you a complimentary cup of their lentil soup. It is warm and thick and quite tasty. Teen and I ordered the gyro sandwich with fries. The gyro is huge. The meat is tender and not at all greasy. The tzatziki sauce is lightly tart and flavorful. The pita is marvelously soft and perfect. It ranks as one of the best gyros I've had in a long time. I stumbled across this Mediterranean restaurant after leaving a business meeting and enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we lucked out on our second swing through the small lot as a car was pulling out of a spot. Bam, parking done. The restaurant was busy. This very nice restaurant is fairly new located near NAS Jax. The place is nicely laid out with pretty decor. A lot of soothing blue. There are two small alcove in the front with two tables. I love Mediterranean and was excited to try it. My first time I went for lunch. I had a Falafel Platter & my friend at the Lamb Gyro. The platter came with Hummus & salad. It was so delicious that I just had to come back with friends. Second time was for dinner party of four. One of my friends is a vegetarian & was so excited that he wanted to try everything. We had the Lamb Platter, sautéed eggplant, Lamb Urfa, Hummus Trio. Urfa is smoked ground chicken or lamb with herbs, shaped into a sausage. It's so delicious. The food is fresh. Our trip to this restaurant was by chance when we stopped by nearby Target and saw their restaurant passing by. Upon entry, the room was bright and pristine white and inviting. The place was clean and roomy enough for our party of three. We ordered 3 entrees and they were all amazing. The dishes felt authentic and the amount of food was a good size. The dishes came with complimentary soups. which was perfect with the cold weather. Service also was outstanding. Our server was attentive to our needs and made recommendations when we asked for suggestions. To end our lunch experience, we ordered dessert and we were also given complimentary tea to go with it. I met up with some girlfriends for lunch and as soon as we stepped through the doors we knew we were in for a treat- I love a strip plaza storefront that surprises you once you are inside- you felt transported! We picked a little table in the front window and perused the menu. I went light- chicken soup and spanikopita. The chicken soup was very flavorful, big chunks of chicken! The spanikopita was different than what I am used to, but still delicious. My friends both thoroughly enjoyed their foods- Robin got a traditional gyro and it almost magically disappeared! Jean went with a chicken dish and ate healthy and still had plenty of leftovers for dinner! The only ding was that we stayed and chatted and enjoyed each others company, but the dishes weren't cleared away. Really good Middle Eastern food and perfect if you tend to lean toward vegan or vegetarian, which I do. They have lots of options that don't sacrifice flavor for veganism, if that is a word, which it is not. They have lunch specials too, so it is easy on the wallet, parking is excellent in a lot out front and service is friendly and efficient. But the food: Eggplant Appetizer - really delicious, grilled and full of flavor Hummus Trio - hmm, loved one, one was too spicy and did not like the other. So get the one I loved. Yes, I don't remember which one it was so I am being purposely vague. Gyro Platter - don't get in a tizzy, I ate vegetation but my lunch companion got gyro. He loved gyro, he loved this gyro.
