You know it's true genuine when one bite fudge your memory bags with happy positive memories like this. Their rice has some type of sweet flavor to like a cinnamon flavor and it is genuine Arabic rice they said. The ambience when you walk in is bright, cheerful, and welcoming. Love the marble tables and the gold accent walls followed by the white. The woodwork is outstanding and overall, it is very clean. When you first walk into the l right, you have kiosks so you can order without having to go upfront however with their outstanding customer service I suggest going upfront. Overall, this was worth the drive. The food was excellent. The only disappointment is they didn't have their baker today so we couldn't try the feteer that was a disappointment, unfortunately. One and done. The cashier was also the server, and bused tables. She didn't wash her hands between busing, serving, or taking an order. I observed a big fat fly buzzing around the fresh vegetables that were prepped, and being used for orders. A cook or worker from the back came out from the kitchen to the prep area eating a cheese puff. I had ordered my food to go, so I wasn't aware of the goings on inside until I had to wait a few minutes. I'm sure the food was delicious but, I could only think of that big fat fly landing on the cucumbers so I just couldn't eat it when I got home. Maybe it was good. Dough Show exceeded my expectations! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, from the shawarma, to the creamy hummus and bright, refreshing tabbouleh. The ingredients were clearly high quality, and every bite was full of flavor. Service was fast and efficient, and I loved the open-concept kitchen where you can watch everything being prepared fresh. Honest review. The food was not bad that you could not eat. I want to make this clear. It's just that for the price we paid, (3 shawarma wraps, and one tabule), it was outrageous. There are at least 2 Mediterranean restaurants here in Jacksonville where the food is better and a lot cheaper. For that price you would feed 4-5 people. The tabule was so plain, no flavor. First I ordered a chicken shawarma Feteer (Egyptian-style pizza) as takeout, and it was absolutely outstanding. I put it in the air fryer and it was so good. That experience inspired me to return and explore their other options. I dined in this time and tried the beef Feteer, which was so impressive. Watching them make the flaky pie sheet was like being on a food show--I'm sure it's fun for kids too. They add filling (meat and cheese) and top it with various toppings then bake it in the oven. The freshly made fetter was amazing. I was blown away! The flaky layers and crispness were fantastic and much better than regular pizza. I'll definitely be returning for more. Next time, I plan to try the Custard Feteer and falafels. They also have $5 menus, which are amazing for those who don't want to spend a lot. I've been on the hunt for a Middle Eastern spot that gives Halal Bros and Juicy Platters vibes from back home (iykyk), and I'm pretty sure I hit the jackpot. Dough Show did not miss. I ordered the falafel bowl with hummus and tabbouleh and when I say everything tasted so fresh and flavorful omg. The falafel & rice were perfectly seasoned, the hummus was creamy and the tabbouleh was bright and herby in the best way. The only thing I wish is that they gave more sauce or the sauce containers were a little bigger because that garlic and spicy sauce... chef's kiss omg. I've never heard of The Dough Show. I knew right away that I wanted to try it out. I ordered two beef shawarma sandwiches which cost $9.99. Great price for two sandwiches. I was shocked to see that there was barely any meat on either sandwich. Honestly, I would've settled for just one sandwich with an adequate portion aka "a realistic adult sized serving." I also expected the beef to be moist. It was not. The beef was very flavorful. The service was pretty good. The cashier was friendly and smiled allot and the guy that bought the food out made sure that I was good. I went back a different day to buy the Dubai chocolate desert for a Christmas party. The desert costs $19.99 and it serves 4-5 people. It was pretty good. The dough was chewy. A little too chewy for my liking. There isn't any kataifi (shredded phyllo dough) in this desert but we still enjoyed it. I really liked the ambiance as well. They have spacious booths which is nice. Wow this was yummy! I saw this place and knew i wanted to try it, very thin dough that's baked crispy is soooo good to me! Looking at the menu I wasn't sure what to get so we kinda pointed and ordered. We ended up getting one of their Fateer, it's thin dough that's stuffed with your choice of protein/ veggie then topped with cheese, olives, tomatoes... so delicious! I especially liked the parts around the edge that weren't covered with cheese cause they were crunchy still, where the ones in the middle were more soggy. Still really enjoyed this and the regular was more then enough for 2 people. The Kebab bites was like a Shwarma wrap that's cut into pieces to eat easily, filled with pickled veggies, garlic sauce and chicken( i think) , also very good! We detoured en route to a nearby fast casual to try The Dough Show tonight and glad we did. We weren't familiar with all the dishes but got help with a few questions. We opted to order several things and share. The star for most of us was the Dough Show feteer, which was like a flaky bread stuffed with cheeses and meats. The falafel were also great and we enjoyed the chicken shawarma plate - the rice was deliciously spiced and the garlic sauce was so good. Lentil soup also tasty, though smooth and not exactly what I expected. Fresh pita too. The fresh pineapple juice was a hit with one kiddo, though the other cited too much fruit oulp. The baba ghanoush was quite different than I'm used to and not quite to our liking, but that's a personal preference, not a shortcoming. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the manager (owner?) particularly made sure we had what we needed. Boy did we - we left with food for another meal! My only recommendation is to revisit the configuration of the tables - some are pretty close together making it hard to grab a refill without disturbing others. Came here for dinner mid-week. Menu wasn't too overwhelming and decided on getting a bowl with rice. I got the combination (chicken and beef shawarma) with two sides: hummus and tabouleh. Also came with two dips; I got the garlic and spicy. First bite, I noticed the rice had a unique flavor, something I wasn't used to and honestly not a big fan of. The meats were very dry and pieces were cut in a way that it was super thin, which might be the reason it tasted dry. I really liked the garlic dip, not so much the spicy. We ate here two days in a row, and that alone says a lot. Day 1: We ordered the $32.99 mixed platter with kebabs and kaftas -- the meat was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sides were just as impressive. The hummus stood out -- it's more of a smooth purée style instead of chunky, and it was so creamy and delicious. The rice and tabbouleh were both fresh and well-seasoned. One small note -- I'm not a big fan of whole peppercorns, so I wish there was an option to have the rice without them mixed in. We also added tahini and garlic sauce -- the tahini was great, and while the garlic could've been stronger, it was still really good. Day 2: We came back for more and tried the bowls this time -- chicken shawarma and beef shawarma (around $13+ each). Both were excellent, packed with flavor and generous portions. We also added the Dubai Choc platter -- amazing flavor and huge portion for $19. The only thing I'd change is having a smaller size option, because it's massive! I had seen this replace another long standing restaurant so I was curious to try it, as I had not heard of it before and Middle Eastern food is hard to find here in Jacksonville. I took my mom, who is also a fan of middle eastern food. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and when we walked in there were a few customers sitting in the restaurant eating. They have two self serve computers for orders and a cash register to order at. The man who took our orders was friendly, but there was a language barrier and it was hard to understand one another. I ordered the lamb kofta rice bowl with tabbouleh and baba ganoush, and my mom ordered the falafel rice bowl, also with tabbouleh and baba ganoush, and she chose the Nutella Feteer, a doughy dessert with Nutella on top and custard inside. For two bowls, the Feteer, and two drinks, it was around $50, which seemed expensive for lunch. We were given a number for our table, got our drinks, and sat down to wait. We watched them make the Feteer, which is similar to a pizza in the stretching and flattening of the dough, along with the cooking in a big oven. The food came out quickly, and the same man from the cash register brought our food to us. The portions are big, the food has great flavoring, but the baba ganoush was more eggplant than a normal dip style and wasn't our favorites. We enjoyed the falafel, tabbouleh, kofta, and dips. The man brought out our Feteer next. It was covered in Nutella, and we couldn't taste the custard on the inside because there was so much Nutella. It is a very rich dessert that I am glad we tried to experience it but wouldn't order that selection again. It's our second time at the Dough Show and for sure glad they are in the neighborhood now. Both times I have enjoyed what we have ordered and I like how fresh everything is. All their bread from there The Dough Show Feteer and there wraps are also super fresh. Our first time we got a large The Dough Show Feteer. Let me tell you this thing is bigger then large it's huge and stuffed up with all the fixings. When you come here for your first time this is what you have to try. Most recently i got the Lamb Kofta Wrap which I also enjoyed. Would get it next time without pickle but that's an easy fix. I will keep coming because they have so many meat options and 2 different ones just for lamb which I am a huge fan of. However, customer service must be dead these days because they were unable to make the feteer last time when I was there and the manager made no attempt to make it up to me despite my clear disappointment. I've had Dough Show a couple times and the food is good but trying to pick-up an order is far more difficult than it should be. If you're going to offer curbside pick-up, have clear-cut instructions for how to do that. There are no signs and no reserved parking spots. I tried going through the drive-thru but no one answered after nearly 5 minutes. Then I tried called, which took 4 attempts before someone answered. When I finally got an answer, it was far too difficult to explain to the obviously stoned employee that I was there to pick-up an order. Ridiculous. Went to Mum Feteer in Astoria and was really excited because I thought I'd find authentic feteer. I have to say, I was very disappointed. The feteer was not good, and the amount of heavy, cheap cheese used was unbelievable. Overall, it tasted nothing like authentic savory feteer. It was heavy and doughy.
