I'm intensely appreciative that Bodrum, being a relatively new restaurant, has been able to successfully weather the COVID-19 storm and keep its doors open because they offer a top quality product at a reasonable price. I've only dined in once, and it was a pleasant experience. The inside is cozy (read: small) but beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Our server could have been a little more attentive but we weren't in a rush and someone she knew personally at another table kept pestering her so I let it go. The food is excellent. Well-seasoned creamy hummus, crispy spanakopita, delicious sigara borek (the first time I've seen such a dish), nicely composed gyro sandwiches, and extremely generous and beautifully put together family platters. I haven't been disappointed with anything I've tried from Bodrum, though one time the chicken in the gyro family platter was a little dry and underseasoned. By the sheer volume of times I've gotten their food, I understand no one's perfect all the time and enough tzatziki makes anything taste good and moist. Their desserts are also excellent, with a fantastic baklava. They even gave me a free dessert coupon when I had to wait ten extra minutes while picking up a takeout order because their ticket printer had messed up and my order hadn't printed. Oh wow was Yelp wrong this time with its rating! I started we their store bought hummus we all thought tasted like peanut butter. The lentil soup $2 small cup tasted like water. I got an $11.95 Greek salad but they do not use cucumbers and add some gross chopped tomatoes with low quality feta. Definitely one of the worst restaurants I have been to in a long time. read more

Service was excellent. Appetizers were falafel and spanakopita (both AMAZING). For the main course we had, green salads with lamb gyro, grilled shrimp platter and the tabouli salad with chicken shish-kebob. Everything was delicious. The ambiance was perfect. I am so so so happy to make the drive every time I step inside this place. It's cozy, fun, clean, and the service is always on point. Now the food... incredible. The new outdoor patio was a great addition and was put together well as to not feel like you are sitting in the parking lot. The spicy hummus was great. Don't let the name turn you iaway, it is not hot at all. It could have been served with a few more pita slices. The ground chicken sandwich was good and had a good flavor and was stuffed with vegetables inside a pita shell. One other thing that surprised me was the complementary lentil soup. I was not sure about it but it had a great flavor and it was finished off with a bit of olive oil drizzled on top. I would order this as a meal for a light lunch any day. They do still have limited seating but you can dine in here. There are 3 tables outside and it looked like 5 or 6 inside. So , my wife dragged me here and told me it was a new Mediterranean place. I am Greek so when I here Mediterranean I am aware that could be almost anything regional which includes North African ,middle eastern ,Greek ,,Italian, or Spanish. What a wonderful experience! We went to Greece on our honeymoon, and it felt like we were transported back. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and the best Mediterranean food we have had in north Florida. Started with a complimentary red lentil soup, then had the hummus trio, two entrees (I had the gyro bowl), and ended with baklava cheesecake and complimentary Turkish tea. We discovered Bodrum about a year ago and so glad that we did! It's an authentic Turkish restaurant that looks nondescript from the outside (in a shopping strip) but is anything but on the inside. The food is fantastic! I love the chicken sauté but the kebabs are great too. My husband always has the moussaka, which I enjoy tasting but the flavors are too heavy for me to have as a meal to myself. I like to upgrade my salad to a shepherds salad, but fair warning, it's very very onion-y. The service is prompt, not incredibly friendly, but not unfriendly, which I think is likely just a cultural difference. Also I advise against going too close to closing time. One two occasions, we showed up after 8pm (they close at 9pm) and both times were reminded as we arrived that they close in less than an hour and one of the times they started cleaning/mopping (with bleach) as we were finishing up our meals read more

Walk inside the Westside's new Bodrum Mediterranean Kitchen and chances are you'll feel right at home. Probably in someone else's home, half way across the world. From colorful framed photos of typical Mediterranean scenes to flowers, dishes and kitchen knickknacks plastered along the walls above bright, faded floor tiles, it's as if you stepped into a tidy, sun-splashed dining room from another age. Bodrum opened Jan. 21 next to Tijuana Flats in the restaurant-rich South Ortega Village shopping center off Roosevelt Boulevard, south of Timuquana Road and north of NAS Jax in Venetia. The family-run venture is the latest from Serpil Ergisi, a longtime restaurateur known for Southside Mediterranean concepts such as Choban Grill and Istanbul Grille. Ergisi named her newest eatery after an ancient Turkish city on the Aegean Sea she and her family visit each year. She has succeeded in created a comfortable, family-friendly space that doesn't feel like it's shoe-horned into a strip mall. Bodrum's menu, available daily for lunch and dinner, packs in plenty of crowd-pleasing standards such as hummus, tabouli, falafel, gyro platters and kebabs, even homemade Greek flatbread pizzas. It's approachable comfort cuisine, nothing edgy or experimental. I took refuge from the nonstop rain Wednesday night and paid a visit to Bodrum's buzzing dining room, which by 6 p.m. was nearly packed. I began with an appetizer I wasn't familiar with, the Sigara Borek ($5.95). At first glance, the plate of four feta- and herb-packed phyllo-dough rollups resembled spring rolls or lumpia. They were light and flaky yet pleasingly melty with lots of flavor, made better with a dipper of mild tzatziki. A nice touch not often found at Mediterranean restaurants, Bodrum provides complimentary cups of lentil soup with its entrees. My portion was delivered steaming hot and it was smooth and creamy, without one iota of chunkiness. However the flavor fell a bit flat and left something to be desired. Bodrum's Greek flatbread pizzas are appropriate as appetizers, lunch plates or light dinners. I treated my lamb gyro version ($10.95) as another appetizer and enjoyed its thick, buttery crust topped with thinly sliced gyro meat and generous melted cheese. For a more full-fledged main dish, I checked out the Chicken Saute ($12.95). This colorful plate gave me a large portion of pan-sautéed chicken prepared in olive oil and tossed with a plethora of diced green peppers, onions, garlic and herbs. Mine also came with a salad of shredded lettuce, carrots and cabbage and a generous helping of spicy hummus, a $2.50 optional upgrade from the standard side of rice. It was a hearty, healthy entrée with plenty left over for another meal. The spicy hummus also comes as a standalone appetizer. It had a very smooth texture with a light bite that hit the back of my mouth but most diners will find fairly harmless. Only while writing this review did I realize the plate also offered pita bread, but mine apparently never showed up. I had too much food to notice it wasn't there. Bodrum's twin dessert options are traditional walnut baklava and a dish I hadn't heard of called kadayif. I called up my reviewer swagger and branched out to the latter ($5.95), which gave me a large plate of warm shredded wheat covered in vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of honey and pistachios. The honey penetrated the warm wheat to make it pliable and chewy, producing an enjoyable sweet treat I'm glad I ordered. Bodrum's alcoholic offerings are limited to a handful of bottled beers and wine. You won't find them on the menu so it's best to ask your server about your options. All diners get a complimentary mini carafe of brewed tea with a pair of sugar cubes following your meal. It's a classy touch. First thing, you cannot go wrong eating at Bodrum! The menu has many items and I'm sure you'll find something you're going to enjoy! The decor is very inviting and it feels like you're dining in someone's European country kitchen, and the service is spectacular. I really can't say enough about the attention to your needs as their customer. I think everything I've eaten here has been delicious and I wouldn't recommend changing anything, I love it. My co-workers and I stopped by since it was new. The food was delicious and there was a nice variety to chose from on thee menu. The food is reasonably priced and served quickly. It used to by the Thai restaurant that has now moved elsewhere in the plaza. It was nice to see how light and airy the place actually is since it has been redecorated. My lamb gyro platter was plentiful and flavorful. My co-workers said that their food was also delicious. One had a chicken gyro and the other had the falafel pita. We will definitely be back. I want to try more things on the menu. Overall, this place is a great bargain and a good lunch spot, especially in an area void of restaurants. This was another work food adventure, with one of the squad picking up all of our orders that were made over the phone. Sadly I didn't get to see the inside of this restaurant, because the pictures make it look so wonderful. What I DID get to enjoy was the amazing flavors! True to form I ordered way too much food, and my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I started with the classic hummus, then ordered the spanakopita, then ordered the tabbouleh, then also I tried one of someone else's falafel. I also went all in with a classic lamb gyro, and finished with the baklava! The food was packaged beautifully, and this was about 9 of us all ordering food, so they had a bit of organizing to do. Everything was really large portions, and so tasty.  My favorite was the gyro. The meat was tender and flavorful, the toppings were perfect and the sauce was really tangy and smooth. I also was surprised that the french fries were some of the yummiest I have had in a while. The finish was just as strong as the start, with the baklava being flaky and sweetly flavored with layers of honey and nuts. Oh where do I start! As soon as you walk through the doors the sweet aroma of what I assume are their soups engulf you and it just keeps getting better! Their complimentary lentil soup is surprisingly smooth and creamy. Their complimentary chicken orzo soup is hearty and fulfilling. I followed up with a platter of beef shish kebab. I inhaled it! Best Mediterranean food i've had. Full of flavor and meats are tender and juicy. My go to item is the chicken gyro platter. Nice thin slices with a bit of crisp to it. My wife got the steak shish kebab which was juicy and tender. And the best of all their pita is amazing, we always order extra. Finally found a place that is LEGIT middle eastern food here in the area. We ordered the hummus trio, gyro pizza and two gyro bowls. I think I I overwhelmed the person on the phone BUT it all came together in the end and everything thing was hot when we dug in. The gyro pizza was a really nice surprise and something I had never imagined. The gyro meat was tender, not greasy and full of that wonderful gyro flavor I had been craving. Cannot wait to patronize these guys again. When we picked it up we were also really happy to see everyone masked up and taking extra care to keep us safe.
